"You best not say anything else that angers the spirit."
"She doesn't like that."
The Devil's expression went blank behind his mask as he was singled out, frowning and giving Wizard a small scoff as he moved pasted him into the lounge. Spitefully, he muttered something about this still being the worst party he's been to, trying to ignore the bit of unease he felt by the new guest. What was said about sabotaging anything bothered him as well, remembering what he'd done to the punch bowls not too long ago. It wasn't something he was going to let himself panic over however, as he was certain there really was no way of knowing it was him. Besides, it was just a party... he couldn't see why anyone would get so upset over something like that. Eh... well... as long as it didn't cause any huge problems.
He didn't see anything wrong with it though.
"Should have stayed home," Devil said with a smile, glancing over at The Black Reaper before he started out of the hallway. It was uncertain who he was talking to, though in a way he was commenting on just about everyone who had showed up to this thing. Nothing horribly remarkable had happened as far as he was concerned, not to mention he couldn't seem to rid himself of the uneasy feeling that something was wrong. This place freaked him out more than he'd like to admit.
Meanwhile, Chicken found himself a little jittery as Belle lead him away from the snack bar and started to dance with him a little, grinning to himself and trying to match her actions as best as he could. He looked from his feet up to her face as she asked his age and mentioned something bad about the punch, tilting his head faintly. "How ...old?" Chicken bit his lip a little as he repeated the question to himself, seeming almost as if it was troubling somehow. His voice was more or less unable to be heard since he had mumbled a little, deciding to address whatever it was Belle had to say about the punch. "What kinda icky stuff? ...Why would they put stuff in it if it's gunna make 'em sick? That seems silly." Chicken giggled, stumbling a small bit as they continued to dance a little since he was trying to move too much.

"Alone? No I'm not alone, I have all these people here!" Tinkerbell threw her arms out wide as though she were simply surrounded by others crowded around her. This was not the case, though. People were mingling nearby, but pretty much none of them were paying her or Sheet Ghost and Princess Tutu any mind. "The weird noises are weird but.... but I don't know!" She covered her mouth and wiggled before pushing herself back up to her feet. She tugged on her dress and reached out to grab at Sheet Ghost's, well, sheet. She had no idea where his hand is. "Let's go exploring!" She beamed and tugged at him
In the other room, the Vampire Lawyer was pretty much using his time to watch everybody. Belle and the Chicken went off to dance, so talking to those two was no longer an option. That is, unless he had the gall to follow them like a creeper. He did not, thank goodness. He had the mind to, though, the punch being sure he was feeling rather out of it. He ended up bursting into little giggles at the antics of his fellow Vampire and the Dragon, but only watched in amusement rather than follow.
His gaze swept over the room as he continued to lean heavily against the table for support. It took him a moment to realize that he had ended up staring at someone as they moved around the room. Then it hit him with a jolt as he realized that they had been staring back. Feeling like a dork, he lifted his hand and waved hesitantly at Zorro. Maybe they knew him?

"If you go in there... I'm not sure if you're brave or just stupid!"
Dionysus groaned inwardly, knowing that annoying his partner the Butterfly was usually a mistake. She often lashed out at offending parties not only with words, but with attacks. It really wasn't in the Black Reaper's best interest to taunt her so... but apparently she hadn't heard him. The music must have been a bit louder at her end of the hall, or something.. Wait a second, someone was opening the door. Coming out of the door. Someone who'd been there since before the party started. The thought of staying in this creepy house any longer than he had to chilled Dionysus' bones, and he did not envy the approaching Wizard.
"Oh, right. I am one of the organizers of this masquerade." --- ”You shoulda seen the look on ALL your faces.”
Butterfly glowered at Beast as he strode past, then cast a cautious glance at at the Wizard as he made his way down the hall after the Beast. Something still didn't feel quite right about the situation, but she shrugged it off and followed the pair back towards the entrance of the hall. She wondered how long the Wizard had been waiting in the room... or whether he'd just appeared out of thin air. It certainly seemed possible, the Wizard's air seeming more than magical enough to pull such tricks.
Dionysus actually smiled as the Butterfly approached him, glad to see she was unharmed. He handed her back the dainty shoes she'd kicked off to chase after the Beast, then the pair made their way back to the crowd at the very entrance of the hall. "Well, that was quite exciting. Who's for punch? I certainly am." Dionysus and Butterfly made their way over to the snack table, all the anxious tension that had been present earlier gone from their attitudes. Their strides were even and unhurried, like they had all the time in the world.

"Oh, right. I am one of the organizers of this masquerade."
W...Where did he even... Come from?
"So don't you think about messing with anything here! We have more supervisors throughout the mansion... and if they see you trying to sabotage the party they will be sure to punish you... and then kick you out."
The Black Reaper blinked and pretty much stared at the Wizard as he strode past, almost instinctively pressing himself back against the wall as the other went past. Despite the fact the next track was far from alarming he still jumped a bit as it changed with a snap of the Wizard's fingers, looking to watch the man as he continued away. The Black Rider put a hand on his shoulder as if to ask if her companion was alright, just getting a little nod in response. However he really didn't stay startled for long, calming down from his fear at Beast's comment.
”You shoulda seen the look on ALL your faces.”
"You idiot you can't SEE our faces!" The Black Reaper called after Beast, sounding annoyed and giving a little huff. He was calmed back down quickly enough by the Black Rider's hand on his shoulder though, the male just crossing his arms over his chest and settling back against the wall. "You shouldn't yell at other people." She murmured quietly, her companion just giving a little nod. He knew he shouldn't but that guy had been asking for it as far as he was concerned.
"Should have stayed home."
The Black Reaper really couldn't help but agree with The Devil, sighing a little behind his mask... Wearing it was starting to get a little uncomfortable in all honesty. He adjusted the thing with his hand, as if to make it more comfortable and also to realign the holes in it with his eyes. The red smile on the thing was rather unfitting considering his mood at the moment, also realizing that the jacket he was wearing as part of the costume was even growing uncomfortably warm despite the oddly cold atmosphere of the mansion... How his companion was surviving in that motorcyclist get up was a mystery to him. Right now he was heavily considering either leaving or just going back to the snack table and risking getting everyone pissed at him for eating all the marshmallows.
"Spectre, what is this gathering here? Why do you linger?"
He blinked at the oddly phrased question, his eyes leaving the patch of floor he'd been stubbornly focusing on to look at Macbeth and then up to the Black Rider a moment. "I guess... It was just some kind of joke one of the people in charge felt like playing on us." He muttered, his unease making it a little hard to talk now that it had settled in for some reason. The Black Reaper sighed a bit again, standing up straight from the wall as he prepared to go back to the snack bar. "There's nothing going on now though." He added after a moment, starting to walk back towards the table.
The Black Rider found it rude that her partner had just walked off like that, giving Macbeth and apologetic nod of her head before hurrying after The Black Reaper.

The hum of voices and movement was automatically blocked out as Raven moved, about to enter Room B properly when Fox laid a hand on her shoulder. She flinched, turning too quickly.
"What is it?"
Her companion quickly let go and stepped away, his own masked face averted. "There is another song playing now." She had to listen closely before acknowledging that he was right - a familiar enough melody, old as it was. "I want to see where it is coming from," he said quietly, and Raven shrugged in response, turning to leave the rather crowded lounge. Raven had no qualms about walking boldly into the dark hall - besides, there were other people traversing it.
Despite such assurances, Fox was the one to go first, head turning this way and that as if the red ears attached to his head were as keen as the real thing. Wizard got a strange look as he passed them while they entered the hallway, Raven shying away from the strange chill in the air.
"Is something wrong with the heating...?"

This is where your post will go and what it will look like. "It's all your fault we're late!"
Ash rushed through the entrance way and made his way towards the smell of food. Thanks to Pikachu he had forgotten about the party. He had also forgotten to eat. He was starving. He was sure he could smell chocolate and a few other kinds of food. He increased his pace, Pikachu bounding along behind him. "But I was huuuuuungrryyyyyyyy" Ash rolled his eyes and walked faster. He was starting to wish he hadn't brought Pikachu with him. His partner was less than good company. Ash burst through the door of Room B and looked around him. There were a few other people around him, but he ignored them except to make sure none of them were people he knew. He made a beeline for the chocolate fountain he had just spotted. He brushed past Dionysus and Butterfly, jostling them a bit. "Oh! Sorry about that!" Pikachu apologized to the two other guests. She bowed her head and ran to catch up with Ash.

SERIOUS VENUS AND THE LUNAR CHILD giggle and the flames grow higher - dance in a circle around a central fire [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://www.sewmamasew.com/store/media/ecom/prodsm/TRRODAMGRY150.jpg');,true] THE INDIGO CHILDREN COME .
It was time.
He was beginning to grow more and more anxious with how many people locked eyes with him throughout the party and commented on how cold it had been whenever he walked by (whether he was seen or not.) You see, there was something about the Calanthe Mansion that he had yet hear anyone consider. What if, just what if there had been more than one ghost? Or...what if there hadn't been a ghost at all? Of course the Orchid Lady's existence had always been debated back and forth between visitors of the mansion - but they usually bolted out of the building within moments of entering her home. Why was that? And why had there been a girl that looked exactly like said ghost that walked the streets who appeared to be somewhat...normal and alive?
He felt her growing weaker and more restless... she needed to be freed from her spell and quickly.
"Ladies and Gentlemen!" the Wizard shouted into the acoustics of room B which would hopefully resonate throughout the entire first floor, "The time of unmasking is at hand, please... remove your masks and reveal yourselves to each other!" He would have felt sad if this had been the end of the party which he had unwillingly helped instigate for months... but what the guests would not know was that this was only the beginning...
And with that, a hand poised delicately over his own mask as he removed it in one silky motion, letting it sling around his neck by the red thread which held it against his face. Was this... a costume beneath a costume? It must have been an unfamiliar sight to the guests - which could easily be a source of confusion since he was the one responsible for inviting them all. Pointed ears... jagged teeth... He didn't look human at all! But perhaps there was a reason for that... after all, not all the attendees were human, either. But if this guy was one of the organizers of the party then... who was he?
"It's a pleasure to meet you all at last. You may call me Shylock." He told his audience. He wore a very strange expression, this Shylock. While he wore his smile ear-to-ear there was something that didn't match this enthusiasm in his eyes. He rose his arms that shook very faintly, almost as if he had an air of unease about him. "Now for the main event! If I may request that those who are members of A.I.R. corporation to please step back. Your cooperation is truly appreciated!"
It may have been a suspicious request, but he was counting on that the guests innocent of being part of such a shady organization wouldn't have any idea of what 'A.I.R.' was... but if there were any of those slightly educated in that area, well...
Not much they could do when the doors to exit the mansion were now sealed shut.
---
"Run...run..."A soft voice begged in the darkness. Standing there facing a wall was none other than the Calanthe Ghost herself, lifeless eyes examining the small cracks in a bookshelf while unfeeling cold tears ran down her cheeks. Her body was solid...and emaciated. It was a miracle that this girl was still standing by how thin she had become. For a moment longer did she linger in her cell and then turned to slowly exit her room on cue.
Down the hall she went from room L to hallway J, the wallpaper she passed suddenly engrained with black roots that followed her with every step. It was a dizzy, clumsy way of walking... but her footsteps made sounds. She was even heaving softly to regulate her breathing... something that ghosts did not do. "Run away...run away.." she murmured softly before finally entering the main room on the first floor, dead eyes lifting to face the unmasking guests. "It's..."
It was the only word that she was able to utter until this 'Shylock' turned to face her with a mildly horrified expression. You'd think it was due to seeing an infamous ghost but that didn't appear to stop him from slowly moving towards her. Once the man finally reached her he extended his arm out for her, his eyes and smile widened into something scared...forced... yearning for approval. "K-Kaneko..." he spoke a name with unyielding love swelled in his voice. "You shouldn't be...up and walking around like this...not now...!"
In this man that had attempted to appear so confident in himself, something changed the moment he laid eyes on the malnourished girl who could barely keep herself standing. He went from someone who was ready and willing to take control to a shriveled up coward who suddenly seemed very unsure of what he was doing. All of that uncertainly left him the moment the 'ghost' reached out to gently take his arm and steady herself. His strength swiftly returned to him as he turned towards the spectators on the first floor.
"And our honored hostess, The Calanthe Ghost, has come to play as well!"

the devil's water, it ain't so sweet, you don't have to drink right now. but you can dip you feet every once in a little while. we've got to get something to eat and to drink, yeah--and find a way to cram it all in before we drink hard again. let's get a bottle and drink alone tonight! ..members of the AIR corporation..... That was him, right? He pulled his attention away from his newly acquired glass of (alcohol-laden, of course) punch long enough to glance at Shylock. This was it, then, the moment they'd all been waiting for. The big bang, the most assuredly climactic moment, the.. the... oh, right, the wizardly host had requested that he, as a member of AIR, do something. He'd barely listened, regretting it now--ah, yes! Step back! Though he was already pretty 'back', being near the snack tables, but he could certainly be backer.
Oh, Shylock had made another request--unmasking! Jenner reached up and pulled off the godly half-mask he'd worn as Dionysus; he left the golden laurels on. What a grand idea that costume had been! Dionysus, Greek god of parties and wine. If that wasn't the perfect costume for the alcoholic, there wasn't one. He backed into the wall, spiked punch still in hand. Hopefully his partner would have the sense to follow.
The partner in question was enjoying this night immensely. She had hands--hands!--and feet, and a beautiful dress and lovely (fake) butterfly wings and everything she could have ever wished for. Her hair was long and dark purple, as pretty as could be. Goodness, she could live in this human form forever! She wouldn't be a squat little quadruped any longer, no sir! She'd be the talk of the town, the belle of the ball, the--oh. Things to do.
She followed Jenner's example and backed against the wall, questions hung in the air. What was about to happen? Why had the host asked AIR members to identify themselves? That was certainly dangerous, was it not? And, oh.. who was that dainty thing the Wizard--Shylock--was moving toward? Her arrival didn't appear to be part of the plan... whatever plan that was, anyway. She simply waited, knowing that she wouldn't be kept long.
Ghost? That was no ghost, it was clearly a solid living breathing girl.. but if that was true, why did the very air chill at her approach? Why did her heart beat a bit faster, why did she want to run and hide from the tiny thing on Shylock's arm? A multitude of why-did-she-want-to's ran through her head and she glanced over at Jenner to see his reaction; she was surprised to find there wasn't one. Either the man had seen this ephemeral, waif-like 'Calanthe Ghost' before, or he was simply too focused on consuming as much alcohol as he possibly could in a short amount of time.
Knowing Jenner, however, it could be something else entirely. Aliens, perhaps unicorns. The man seemed to mention unicorns quite a lot when he was drunk, a fact that never ceased to amaze her. Hopefully he didn't get quite that drunk tonight, she sensed there would be action to come.

He stopped at this, only about a few steps from the snack table... So close yet so far, his fingers twitching as little as if he'd just been verbally denied access to the food. The Black Reaper sighed behind his mask, honestly feeling some relief at the Wizard's next words; he could finally take this stupid mask off, and furthermore see who everyone else was. He really didn't think that he'd know anyone here but... He swore he was familiar with maybe a voice or two that he'd heard tonight, but he couldn't be entirely sure at the moment for whatever reason. Maybe he was just tired or something, he had absolutely no idea what time it was and it was pretty cold in here despite the jacket he was wearing. To think that only a few moments ago he had actually wanted to take the thing off and was too warm, it was an odd thing to think now that he was reflecting on it.
His partner, who stood nervously but dutifully by his side, already had a hand up to the side of her yellow biker's helmet; she was almost afraid to take the thing off now that she'd been wearing it for the last few hours. It seemed almost silly to her that she'd actually be wary of removing it and showing her face, after all no one here would know her, that was a definite fact considering things. She felt her partner's hand on her arm, blinking in surprise behind the helmet and looking down to the shorter male at her side who now seemed almost stuck there... He was feeling more nervous than he would like to admit about taking the masks off, but he'd feel better if they took them off together. They both nodded to each other a little before they bother reached up and removed what was hiding their faces from everyone, both of them trying not to feel daunted by it for whatever reason.
Ethan sighed a little as he took the mask off and therefore lost his anonymity, scratching the back of his head with his free hand as his eyes darted around as he tried to see if he'd spot anyone he knew... Though he felt that was unlikely. The woman beside him looked around as well once her helmet was removed, holding it in her hands as she observed almost cautiously; something didn't seem entirely right with any of this somehow. Her partner didn't seem alarmed as of yet, just looking around the room a bit more before his insomnia-framed eyes eventually found Shylock and stayed there. The boy had felt something wasn't right about the wizard since that cold chill he'd received when the other was passing him, though he couldn't really think of what it could have been at all... Maybe he'd imagined it? He wasn't really sure at this point.
"Now for the main event! If I may request that those who are members of A.I.R. corporation to please step back. Your cooperation is truly appreciated!"
Who the hell was 'A.I.R'? Ethan stepped closer to his partner and finally seemed to catch on that something was wrong as he noticed at least one person step back... He was finding that his sense of foreboding grew as he glanced over at Jenner, almost immediately lowering his head and sort of pressing into his partner's side like a child would their mother. She looked down at him with a sort of reassuring look, trying to instill in him that she would be there to protect him no matter what was about to happen. He trusted Dorumon enough to be calmed by this, sort of nodding a little bit and managing to lift his head back up some; he couldn't shake that bad feeling though, it just wouldn't leave him. He told himself everything was fine, that he was just freaking out because this was a new situation to him, and that nothing bad was about to happen to him or anyone here. However that could easily be a lie too and he knew it.
He found himself distracted from how he was feeling at the moment he looked back to where Shylock was, noting now there was a girl there too; somehow the sight of her made him frown, like he knew something was wrong despite the distance. "...Do you really think that's a ghost?" Ethan mumbled to his partner, watching as she gave a little shake of her head to show she really didn't know. Quite frankly Dorumon barely knew what a ghost was, as she watched whatever her partner did and paranormal shows were not really among the selection. In the end it didn't make sense to ask her but she didn't take the time to point that out, the both of them just standing there as they waited to see what would befall them once all the masks were removed.

The Sheet Ghost was all up for some good old fashioned freaky haunted house exploration. It only suited the mood, and what was the point in being here if they didn't look around a bit anyway? Nodding and grinning under his sheet as Tinkerbell gave him a little tug, as well as receiving a playful poke from his companion, Princess Tutu, he peered at them through the tiny eye holes cut haphazardly into the fabric.
"What you think huh?" Gives her a nudge back with his elbow. "Not too SCARED to do some exploring?" However, before anything more could be said or done on this subject, a loud, echoing voice rang out from somewhere closer to the entrance hall from where they had just come moments before he had approached Tinkerbell. Despite it being from a totally different room, he heard it clear as crystal, a voice that presumably belonged to whomever was hosting this party.
What was this? Unmaking already? Had he heard right? He was certain he had, but still it was odd. Granted he had come late, but this seemed soon, as from what HE knew of so called masquerades, this event didn't happen until the right very end of the party, but then again this was the first he'd ever been to personally so what did he know really? Giving a little shrug, he glanced at the two girls, and decides it would actually be nice to get this thing off. It was hard to move in and he had little to no use of his hands like this. Plus he would then convert it into a secondary costume he's already considered if the Sheet Ghost hadn't lasted.
"Oi don't know about you goise but I'll listen to that there." There was a slight rustling of fabric as he grappled for the hem to pull it off, a hand nearly as pale as the sheet itself finally emerging into view. The sheet was pulled off and Evan didn't waste any time in then pulling the sheet around himself into a sort of toga. His hair was a mess from the static created by the sheet and it more or less stick up in all directions. Not that he cared. It was nice to have full range of visibility again. "See? Now oi'm..uh..a ancient Greece person, yeah." Nods and gestures for the other two. "Cone on..let's see you're pretty faces, yeah?"
While he waited for the other to to comply to the hosts announcement (not something he normally did, but this time it actually suited him to listen), he thought he caught sight of someone else in the hallway too, approaching in their direction. Normally he wouldn't have paid much heed, after all it was probably just another guest, however, the closer they got, the less likely this possibility seemed. Nudging his companion again just in case she hadn't noticed the newcomer just yet, and not having much else better to do while he waited for the girls, he continued to watch the figure approach. There was something off, and for once Evan kept his big mouth shut when he saw just how sad and frail she looked, which, combined with the fact that as she passed by, something back and spidery seemed to be trailing her along the wall, rendered him unable to think of something to even say. Evan continued to stare as she vanished into the room close to the entrance to the hallway, partially desiring to follow behind out of sheer curiosity. [/sub][/font]

[atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=width,374px] Princess Tutu blinked slowly as the other went on her mini-ramble. The girl was... not quite all there in the head, was she? She felt a bit bad for thinking that, but it was becoming slowly more and more apparent. So far she seemed as nice as can be and was getting along with her partner quite well (bonus!) so that was not so bad at all, really. Easily ignored!
The nudge brought her back to the moment and she glanced at her friend, suddenly feeling a bit uncertain. Exploring? Was that allowed at parties like this? She assumed that the areas with the food and music was where guests should generally stay, and the rest of the place - being a home... right? - should be left alone. It was not as though she was the one out of all of them who could possibly know best about this, though.
At the announcement of the unmasking, she felt a bit of a relief. Anonymity could be dropped and she could actually see who it was she was surrounded by and speaking with. Well, not that that was quite true. She herself was in disguise even without her frilly white mask. Oh well, at least seeing faces meant catching early signs better and knowing if anybody was getting frustrated with her partner or not. She tugged her mask up over her face and smiled a little. The little smile became a big grin for whatever reason and she turned it toward Evan for a moment before ducking her head and scratching at her cheek. Humans were so fun!
Mood having been shot up for who-knows-why, Gomamon nodded. "Sure, I'll explore too," she said.
More was about to be added, but the words were quickly swallowed at the sight of the frail human. She bristled all over. Something was not right, not right at all. Her words gave her chills and her appearance only added to it. What was she talking about? Run away, dd it mean something? Was this just one of those Halloween things? The man who had made the announcement - as she gathered from the familiarity of his suddenly softer voice - helped to ease the cold and sharp fear that had spiked through her body. Just a spectacle, that's right, she was supposed to be a ghost! Much more menacing than Evan's ghost, that was for sure. Oh mon that was scary. She was still getting chills even as she tried to force herself to be calmed. She wanted to move away from them quickly, maybe even get out as she had suggested. To say this to Evan would be foolishness, however. Gomamon highly doubted that the young man would be so willing to just up and leave like this, so she bit her tongue and forced herself to stop staring.

It didn't take long for the suspected performance to reach its peak, though she frowned at the announcement of unmasking. So soon? That was... unfortunate. She didn't exactly feel like removing her shield of anonymity, but if she didn't, then surely she would be singled out. Raven slowly removed her mask, Fox quickly following only a beat behind. Fingers still curled around it, Avari looked around, not bothering to take on an expression just yet. The room was crowded, and everyone's attention was on the Wizard - she could feel secure for a little while longer.
The Wizard proved to be, a little surprisingly, a Digimon - or she guessed, with those features. Her own partner shifted behind her, his longer black hair hiding own pointed ears.
They shouldn't have been here. The masks might have been a good idea, but now... something felt off about the party. The cool air made her wish she had brought something a little heavier to wear, and she rubbed her arms absently.
A faint growl from her partner as Shylock introduced himself, which earned him a frown.
"I thought the idea of coming here was not to draw attention," she murmured, and he nodded slowly.
"I apologize."
"It's - " she started to say automatically and cut herself off, skin prickling with something that she was quite sure wasn't just her own paranoia of being seen. An emaciated girl was steadily walking forward, and BlackGabumon growled again, an odd sound to be coming from him in his present form. Shylock said something to her - they were a bit too far away for Avari to hear - and then the girl was presented as the Calanthe Ghost.
A lie. It had to be.
"She... she cannot be a ghost," BlackGabumon said urgently. "I heard her walk."
Curiosity was a dangerous thing, and she saw no further reason to stay. "We're leaving." And with that, she turned and began to make her way to the doors - with no idea that exiting the mansion would hardly be so easy.
