Post by Scarecrow and Doll on Aug 27, 2011 22:57:28 GMT -5
"itchy..."
"It's...so cute..."
The Doll wouldn't say this loud enough to her Scarecrow partner – she'd hate to make him angry. But she knew that the two of them were there with a purpose and even though the locale made her extremely uncomfortable (what with the silent hill and dead flower motif and all) she wouldn't complain. The Scarecrow was rushing forward into the building, letting his guest fall behind without much signs of guilt about it. The Doll, of course, caught up to him and only lingered nearby, afraid of latching onto him or doing anything to upset him. Instead, she let her hands fiddle with the finely-painted lips of her mask as a nervous habit, almost as if she had wanted to chew on her nails through it.
The Scarecrow was on a mission... a mission quickly thwarted once he was met (actually, collided with) a girl dressed in an Alice costume that had seemed to be showing off her bloomers. Scarecrow stood stunned, staring at the girl for a good five or so seconds before throwing up his hands into his straw hair and giving a horrified shout. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
Meanwhile, The Doll approached the scene with a reddened face. This was quite the awkward moment, wasn't it? Instead of furthering embarrassing her partner, Doll turned to smile at Red and Wolf shyly. "Um...Hi..." she waved with her fingers at them and began to back away... and unfortunately bumped into Cheshire on the way there. "Oop!...Oh gosh I'm so sorry..so sorry!"
Doll sounded like she was about to cry beneath her finely-painted mask.. at least until The Scarecrow had to fight himself to look away from the bloomers and gripped her by the arm lightly. "Don't apologize, you didn't do anything wrong!" he protested angrily... but even his frustration went cold after the music suddenly died – and the faint old sound of a record scratching entered the room.
The Scarecrow uttered something about the record in anger under his breath. He knew it wouldn't be wise to make a big deal out of this and decided to try and laugh it off instead. "Er I mean...yes sorry about her... she is clumsy.. my sister." the boy gestured to Doll, but quickly used it to scratch at his head again. Damn itchy costume.

Belle continued smiling at the Lawyer, a brow quirked in response to his subtle but tense tone. She didn't think much of it, if anything felt a bit offended due to her attempts at being friendly. But whatever, she didn't let it bother her. Belle took Beast by the arm and lead him over into Room B where all the snackage could be found. At least he'd get some food out of this...
Then suddenly he felt the hands of someone else brushing up against his fur. Beast's teeth grit back and forth, exercising all restraint to keep himself from shouting at Tinkerbell. Something about all of this seemed... disturbingly familiar. Beast turned to look at Tinkerbell, throwing a death glare in her direction under his mask. "Dont. Touch. Me." he growled through a twitch of his eye.
Belle, however, was a lot more amused than Beast when it came to this display of interest. She turned her head to look at Tinkerbell with a smile. "You have my complete permission to touch him and make him uncomfortable." Belle said with a short laugh, realizing how her statement could've been taken. But hey, even Beasts needed love too.
Oh my GOD! ...CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!!!
Belle glanced down where she had stepped up to see Chicken splashing in chocolate, feeling a slight twitch of her eyebrow as his flailing had gotten little specks of chocolate on her dress. She could see that he was younger... and thus found it difficult to flat-out scream at the poor kid. But...her...dress..
"Ahem." Belle cleared her throat to grab the attention of Chicken... Beast covering his mouth with a large padded glove (made to look like a paw) to keep his laughter stifled. The girl positioned herself in the light so it hit her just right... causing the shadows to cast down on her face in attempt to make her look frightening (while at the same time the glitter on her dress sparkled all pretty-like)
"You got chocolate on my dress."
To make the timing of everything even more comical, the moment she spoke was when the record scratched and the new music began to play. Belle's eyes shifted back and forth and gave an affirmative nod while resting her hands on her hips. Yup. She did that. Totally.

"Oooh~Well I must say that this is an improvement."
They had been sitting on the staircase for a while, both the Zombie and Vampire guests that had arrived and found that the haunted mansion that had been so renown throughout Japan came with badly made remixes. The moment they heard something relatively creepy replace the bad music, their interest in the party became piqued once again. Vampire stood from his spot on the stairs, extending his gloved hand for his Zombie friend. She glanced up his arm with a little smile.
For a Zombie she didn't appear very...zombie-like The girl was dressed in a white glittering gown and matching mask. The only thing that really said 'zombie' (which really wasn't all that subtle) were the lines of blood coming from her hairline and dripping from her mask to her chin then her dress. The Vampire was also finely dressed, but his costume wasn't so in-your-face either. All he wore was a tuxedo (boutonnière and all), gloves, and a simple white mask much like his partner. Once again, only part of his costume really gave away what he was. Two small (but high-quality) fangs lodged against his canines with a bit of fake blood going from the side of his lips to his chin.
"What do you say? How about we cause a little bit of chaos ourselves?" The Vampire asked with a wicked little grin. Zombie laced her arms around his and gave him a little nod as opposed to a vocal answer – not being much of a talker. At least, not in a place full of people like this.
The two descended down the staircase, looking upon the guests that were gathered around. It was definitely a lot more quiet now than it had been moments before. Both Zombie and Vampire preferred it this way. It took a few moments for either of them to say anything, until Vampire addressed all those on the first floor in a loud, projected voice.
"Well well! Looks like the ghost is here and greeting her guests, after all!"

Alice wasn't keen on listening, it seemed. Tonight was supposed to be a night of so much fun, she couldn't stand it. This was Halloween – where everybody got to dress up and pretty costumes and eat so many sugary things that you felt sick just thinking about candy for months to come. You got to trick and to treat – so she decided if you could do funny things like eat candy and dress up pretty – a little twirling would never harm anything.
She almost stopped, though, when someone came very close to her – another costumed guest. It wouldn't be very nice to hit them – so she paused to smile at the person – who looked very furry. But that could have just been their costume. She opened her mouth to say high and ask them if they really were that hairy – but remembered some old lesson that his friend had taught him. She didn't like it when they spoke to strangers. Didn't that mean that there would be no talking at the party? But that'd be boring!
Still.. if there was going to be any candy to be had – good behaviour was a must. So Alice instead smiled at the curious Wolf, and waved at him – before returning to the clumsy pirouettes that made her a little dizzy, but were much to fun to stop.
The Cat, however, rolled her eyes at the antics of Alice. I give up. If they wanted to look like an idiot – well, she was wearing a mask. It wasn't like she HAD to admit coming here with her. So long as she didn't run around breaking things they could not pay for. Her attention was drawn away from the spinning girl, to someone in a red cape and hood who could only have dressed up as the infamous Lil' Red from the fairy tales.
“Havn't been around much, yet – but it's not bad.” She replied, shouting somewhat to be heard. “Some of us are having a blast – but it's not like we can all be so...easily amused.” She jerked a clawed mit over her shoulder at the spinning Alice, who had taken to giggling.
It was at that moment, from the corner of her eyes, that she spotted the wreck that suddenly stopped her friend's circular flailing. Someone dressed as a Hobo – oh wait, no....it may have been a Scarecrow, what with the wig, on second glance – Alice pinwheeled backwards, but managed to thankfully gain traction before falling on her butt, and stared up at the other costumer with a look of equal perplexity and budding teariness. “I was dancing!” Alice questioned, “Did you...want to dance too? You coulda just asked!”
Crap...suppose I have to intervene in this... The Cat gestured to Red, as if begging them to give her a moment, but was cut off by being run into by some girl in a Doll costume. She choked up an apology, and the Cat huffed, shrugging her shoulders. What was with some people – she'd just bumped into me, it's not like it's the end of the world!
The Scarecrow came to the doll's rescue, and it prompted the Cat to come to Alice's – although she didn't seem terribly torn up by her little 'bumper-cars' moment. “Well, neither did she!” She hissed, referencing his reaction just moment before from running into someone in an accident he had definitely been the cause of. “I don't see you saying sorry to her, and you coulda knocked her on her ass!” Her own steam died suddenly with the sudden change in orchestration. She'd quite liked the throbbing brass before, and now this tinny music just reminded her of her parents – of oldness.
“Clumsiness isn't a crime.” She muttered automatically, though she was distracted, still trying to discern the sudden change in music. Tilting her head so slightly, as if she could actually hear from the pointed cat's ears set into the purple-pink wig. “It wasn't like she actually hurt anyone.”
“N'I'm fine too!” Crowed Alice from behind – trying to squeeze her way between the doll and Scarecrow rather than do the sensible thing and go around to meet the Cat. She had lost interest in dancing with the sudden change of music, but didn't seem particularly troubled by it's jarring halt, save to ask “Where'd the pretty music go?” Save to look from all five people – Wolf and Red, Scarecrow and Doll, and finally the Cat seeking an answer.

Wolf wasn't quite certain about this spinning thing, and wasn't sure if his partner Mr. Red would find it amusing, or just feel dizzy by it. He watched her, unaware that her spinning was actually a problem, and she was just about showing all but her unmentionables. It wasn't the fact that he was stupid, he was just unaware of what the problem was in it all. If he had it his way, everyone wouldn't wear these stuffy, unneeded clothing. The spinning girl stopped, and waved at Wolf, making him smile at her even bigger, and he bowed down formally for her, as though she were a real life princess, and he, a loyal subject. Then, she watched as she continued to twirl around, clearly dizzy by it all, but still continuing anyway. It was actually quite amusing to Wolf, so, he let go of Red's arm, and continued to watch young Alice. Half of his mind was paying attention to the rather entertaining Alice, and then he was paying attention to Red on the other half. The fancy feline seemed to be rather friendly towards his friend, even though she had to shout to be heard over the music. When he took his attention back to Alice, at that very moment,
" No Wai-," Wolf was about to reach out a paw to stop the twirling lady, but it was too late. She collided into another guest.
Red smiled a little shyly at the purple haired Cheshire Cat, he had to strain his ears to hear what she was saying. It sounded like she was having fun so far, especially Alice, his gaze behind his mask followed Cheshire's claw to her direction. He looked back, to respond to her when suddenly he heard a commotion of shouting. He turned his head around, but realized he was looking in the wrong direction. He looked back in the direction of Alice, blinked, it looked a little like there was a crash. He waited in silence, hoping that they were okay, and no one got hurt. At nearly the same time he was greeted by a rather pretty young girl, she was so pretty, he could describe her as a Doll. Red nodded his greeting, but jumped back when she ran into Cheshire cat, hoping that he too, would not run into a guest. These silly people were all so clumsy. He sure was glad no one as getting hurt, right?
Wolf blinked through his furry mask at the chaos that started, and all the apologizing. He whirled around, making sure that Red was perfectly fine, and of course, much to his relief, the male was standing close by, looking a little confused. He turned back to the others, unsure of what to do or say at the moment. The Scarecrow looking guy seemed pretty upset, making wolf step a few steps backwards. He didn't want to get in the middle of this, unless, it was necessary. He looked to Little Red Riding Hood, and gestured for the boy to get closer, and obediently, Lil Red approached asking over the music "Are you all alright?" At that moment, the music suddenly stopped. At first Lil Red just thought the music just ended, but it ended so abruptly, it didn't seem to make any sense. Which was saying something because Lil' Red wasn't always on our planet.
The change of music must have been noticed by others, because in the back of Lil' Red Riding Hood's mind, he could hear the voice of the Alice speak, asking where the music had gone. It took him a moment to register the question, and actually think of an answer for the silly childish seeming girl. At that moment, Wolf stepped in for Red, speaking his answer louder than really needed, clearly very interested in the fact that the music had changed, "You know, the technology these days has been a little, glitchy. Maybe it was just a scratchy disk and it jumped, or maybe the computer they're playing it off of isn't very happy right now," he looked around to Doll, Scarecrow, Cheshire Cat, Alice, and then to Lil Red, "Though, not sure why'd this song would be on this poor Playlist...I actually like it," he nodded, as if people actually cared. Red pushed up his red hood again, and looked around the room, clearly not very happy that the music had changed. Not to mention, he was actually quite spooked, what if this places was...haunte- inhabited by aliens? What if an E.T took the guests away one by one? If that was the case, then this small group would have to work and stay together. "An Alien, Maybe?" he asked, not to anyone on particular, but looked at all the guests he was with, a crease in his mask was a clear sign he was worried. A loud booming voice took both Wolf and Red by surprise
"Well well! Looks like the ghost is here and greeting her guests, after all!"
"Maybe they have the faintest idea..." muttered Lil' Red, not even noticing that they had mentioned a ghost. He was still pretty set on the fact that it was aliens.

Dionysus and Butterfly

Dionysus had been in the middle of drinking from his newly-refilled glass (ignoring the Reaper's question and the Rider's greeting) when the music changed. He nearly choked--that song, that song! It was too creepy, too old, it stirred bad memories. He nearly choked on the punch, swiftly putting the glass down and straightening his mask. He wanted to get out of this house before things went wrong--which they undoubtedly would, things at a party like this (in a haunted house, no less) always did.
He swallowed nervously, glancing over at the Butterfly--who seemed unaffected by the situation. Charming and self-possessed as always, she was still hanging around the Black Reaper in what she probably thought of as an alluring manner. Dionysus rolled his eyes and lamented ever thinking about bringing Butterfly to this mess of an affair.
Dionysus blinked, realizing that he'd created an awkward pause in the conversation. He picked up his glass of punch as if nothing had happened and smiled at the pair in black. "Good evening. What a fine place for a masquerade, eh?" He still ignored the Reaper's question, either finding it offensive or just not worth answering. What did it matter which punch he drank, anyway?
The Butterfly chuckled softly at her partner's passivity. Didn't he know that if you wanted something you had to go out and get it? Then again, she was only sure about one of the things Dionysus wanted. And he likely had it. "Hey, I know. Why don't we go see where that noise is coming from? She dropped all pretense of being a beautiful maiden, seeming simply excited by the prospect.
She groaned aloud when Dionysus didn't seem interested in the prospect of exploring the place. "Come on, it'll be fun! We can't exactly stay in this one room all night, can we?" She sounded a little pleading, like she wanted to do as much as she could tonight. "Actually, we could stay here all night. In fact, that sounds like a good idea--"
He stopped talking at the furious look Butterfly was giving him. "All right, all right, I'm going. He set down the glass of punch again and fiddled nervously with his robes, not at all happy about leaving the relative safety of the room they were in.

The Black Reaper blinked as the song changed, frowning behind his mask at it. He really didn't like music like this, wishing it would just go back to remixes or something. Though as he realized it was coming from a specific room he became interested, interested enough to keep from being creeped out at how Butterfly almost seemed to be flirting with him or something. The Black Rider was watching her sort of closely for this reason most likely, nearly sort of pulling her companion back from the other female before she was distracted by Dionysus' choking.
The Black Reaper blinked and seemed to realize Butterfly hanging around him so closely, sort of moving back from her a bit and missing Dionysus' question... Or maybe it was just simply out of spite for both his questions being ignored. Both he and The Black Rider listened in silence as the other two seemed to argue about going out of the room, something The Black Rider did not think was a good idea. Investigating odd noises was how everyone got killed in horror movies, or at least it was one of the reasons from what she had seen. "...It might be interesting." The Black Reaper said after a moment, despite the fact he really wasn't sure he wanted to be around Butterfly any longer than he had to be.
The Black Rider nearly voiced her disapproval, but she knew that he companion would never listen. Besides she was the one who had been complaining about just standing around and doing nothing, and the most entertaining thing here was some kid messing with the chocolate fountain. Something about the comment that had been made to all of them though... About a ghost greeting them. It creeped her out, though she figured her partner would be unfazed.
"Come on." The Black Reaper kind of tugged at his companion's sleeve a little before starting to head for the hallway that lead to the music. However he sort of stalled and stared down the hallway, his shoulders sagging a little as he realized just how unnerving it was. He nearly jumped as The Black Rider nudged him, looking up at her. "Well, aren't you leading us Black Reaper?" She asked, her companion giving a little huff of annoyance before starting down the hall.

Ahem.
Chicken blinked and broke out of his amazed state and the chocolate fountain as Belle spoke to him. The fondue dipping was still dripping from his fingers some and the corners of his mouth were covered in the stuff as well, absently going to lick it off before he stopped and glanced down as Belle's dress. He...He got chocolate on her dress?! Oh, oh no! A rather large frown suddenly grew on Chicken's face below his mask, looking at the damage he'd inflicted to the costume. Maybe it was just a couple of little drops, but...No, this was horrible!
"AHHH! I'm so sorry! I'm so so so so SO SORRY! It's such a pretty dress too. Hang on!"
In an attempt to right this wrong he sprung into action, running down the length of the table to grab a napkin and then zoom back. Without asking, he just went and started to try and rub the tiny little chocolate specks he had unintentionally created on the girl's dress in his carelessness, oblivious to the fact that he was just making them worse. "There! I'm fixing it! See!
The Devil stood back, pouring himself a small cup of spiked punch. With a shake of his head, he decided not to concern himself with Chicken, standing back leisurely and taking a sip of his drink. 'Stay close' ...Yeah right. That wasn't going to happen. Oh well, it didn't really bother The Devil the more he thought about it, deciding a party was meant to be enjoyed. There was no reason to stress out the whole night. Who know, he might actually have some fun.
Of course, nothing interesting seemed to be happening, not as far as he was concerned. His eyes searched the room from behind his mask, noting the people who had congregated into the lounge and near the food table. So many of them seemed so uptight, overhearing several of them muttering to themselves or snapping at people. What kind of people were invited to this party anyway? Boring ones, obviously. The Devil snorted softly underneath his mask, adjusting the piece over his face as he went to take another sip of his drink, glancing down at the two bowls of punch.
"Hm."
The Devil gave himself a diluted grin, the entertained look hidden behind his mask. He wasn't sure what had possessed him to do it, but he went and picked at the label for the 'Alcoholic Punch' before pausing. After casting a gaze at the other party goers that stood rather close by, he went and picked the labels right off the two bowls, attempting to seem as inconspicuously as possible. There. That should make things more interesting, right? The Devil was pleased with himself. Though, only for a moment. It's not like someone wouldn't figure it out eventually and he soon found himself bored again, sighing and standing back once more to take another sip of his drink.
"Well well! Looks like the ghost is here and greeting her guests, after all!"
As Zombie and Vampire began to enter the enormous room, his gaze went to them. They were most likely talking about the music scratching out, suddenly realizing what song had began to fill the lounge. It was somewhat creepy, though he found it mostly unfitting. Pft. A ghost? ...More like someone screwing with them. He wasn't really impressed, finding himself rolling his eyes. His usual confidence boosted up a few notches thanks to the anonymity his mask and costume provided, the only reason for him speaking up so loudly, "Yeah, well if a she's here, someone tell her this party sucks."

"Yeah, well if a she's here, someone tell her this party sucks."
"...He's totally right."
"Hey, you're the one who doesn't wanna be here, you made it suck for yourself."
Fenrir sighed in an irritated manner, sipping from his cup and paying no mind to the jingling of chains that came with the movement. He readjusted the wolf mask that covered the upper part of his face, looking over to his companion once he could see. "Hey... Shut up." He muttered to the Dragon, his voice carrying a tone of annoyance. The other made a nearly dramatic sigh, though the dragon mask allowed his grin to be seen as it was like his partner's in what it covered.
"Can't you just let yourself have fun? C'monnnn you've just been standing over here in the corner like a creeper!" The Dragon said, jabbing the other in the side with an elbow. Fenrir glared at him a little and moved away a bit, shoving his free hand into his pocket... Or at least would have if the stupid costume had them. "I didn't even want to be here in the first place... I'm just ticked off." He muttered crossly, taking another sip from his cup. His companion snickered at this for whatever reason, pointing to the cup after a moment.
"You won't be if you keep drinking that." The Dragon said, seeming highly amused for whatever reason. Fenrir snorted and looked off to the side, refraining from yelling or causing any sort of scene. Everyone was already paying attention to the sudden change in music or that kid in the chicken costume, but he decided not to risk anything. Instead he just ended up taking a long sip from his cup, noting he'd be in need of a refill soon.
"I only needed cuz you're being such a pain." Fenrir muttered, starting to wander away from the wall to go get more from the bowl. "Aww c'mon! I'm not that bad!" The Dragon said, putting an arm over Fenrir's shoulders. "You are that bad." He growled, shrugging his companion's arm off his shoulder. He didn't know what it was about tonight but his partner had become really annoying suddenly, and he really just wanted to punch him in the face... Maybe it was just weird seeing the other so giddy like this.
The Dragon snorted with laughter, looking around a little as he seemed to be seeking something more entertaining than his companion. "Hey, that guy said this place is haunted right? Think we'll see the ghost?" He asked with a grin, though Fenrir just gave an irritated kind of 'hm' in response. He blinked as he got to the table, immediately noting a difference... The punch bowls were no longer labeled. "What the hell..." Fenrir murmured to himself, as he tried to figure out which bowl was spiked.
Meanwhile all the Dragon could think was 'Damn someone beat me to it'.

"Yeah, well if she's here, someone tell her this party sucks."
Vampire couldn't help a smirk.
The man descended the staircase with Zombie's hands still lightly wrapped around his arm as she shyly stood to the side. He stood a few steps above Devil, glancing down at him from the bottom of his hidden eyes. "Why don't you tell her yourself?" Vampire challenged the other, feeling a competitive spark. "The record room is right down the hall."
And with a nod to the pitch black hallway that branched out from ROOM B. Once they finally reached the bottom of the stairs, he noted that Zombie had let go of his arm and made her way to the punch. He had been expecting that sudden need for independence from him. After all, he wasn't her babysitter - no matter how much he liked to think himself as one.
Zombie made her way to the punch bowls, letting her fingers hover over one of the ladles, then taking the other one last second before pouring herself a cup. Her eyes wandered to the two boys, Fenrir and Dragon beside her, smiling as she glanced back into the red liquid. "That one has alcohol." she spoke softly, taking the non-alcoholic ladle and pouring it into a cup. "This one doesn't."
The girl hummed lightly as she brought the cup to her lips, taking a long sip and then nodding in affirmation. "Mhm." she even dared let a giggle out, then turned to look them both over finally instead of only paying half-attention. "You both look good."
Hm.
Vampire, on the other hand, shuffled to the crowd in front of the snack bar, holding up a hand and letting his voice project over the floor once again. "Tell you what, how about we play a little game? First to enter the record room and turn off the music will win all the change I have in my pocket! And bragging rights, let's not forget that."

Scarecrow wasn't happy to be shouted at for apologizing to someone, his expression growing sharp with a scowl at Cheshire and stubbornly turning from her to cross his arms. He cursed under his breath.. probably something about women... then looked behind him as he heard Vampire talk to the people lingering around the snack bar – making some kind of game out of this 'ghost's' tricks.
He couldn't ignore his bubbling anger at Cheshire much longer, though, and snapped his head back at her - red in the face and expression almost completely concealed by his mask. "Because I didn't do anything wrong! She started dancing all silly in my way!"
Doll, meanwhile, stood back with her hands still at her lips – worrying that she had been the cause of this whole mess. Her eyes started welling up with tears slightly but she did her best to shake them away for the time being. Her attention was stolen by Lil Red, who she turned to face with a weak little smile beneath her mask, soothed by someone who's tone wasn't borderline shouting.
"A-aliens?" she giggled a bit, tapping her fingers together once she moved them away from her mouth, "Th-that'd be really nice for an alien to throw a party for all of us..."
Both she and the Scarecrow turned to face the direction of the shouting Vampire who decided to turn this scary little event into a game. Doll, naturally, shied backwards. "S-sounds scary..."

She should have been frightened. Maybe at least startled. Definitely intimidated and put off. This turned out to not be the case, however. Unfortunately for The Beast, Tinkerbell did not seem to be affected by his attitude in the slightest. She tilted her head and give him a little smile, still grinning.
She became confused pretty quickly at the two different commands. Do not touch. Touch as much as she wanted. Were they teasing? Probably! She touched him again, bursting into gleeful giggles.
"Uh maybe you shouldn't..." The Vampire Lawyer warned the fairy softly. He did not want any fights to break out, let alone it be his partner's fault.
"But he's so soft!" she pouted as she whined. She was honestly very unaware of how this was affecting the other guest.
The lawyer could feel a tension building quite suddenly. It was Belle's apparently rather unhappy attitude change thanks to the Chicken's mistake. He watched this continue and winced as the little stains were rubbed harder into the dress. That was not good for it.
He took Tinkerbell's hand and tugged her away from The Beast so the poor guy could get a break. "Come on," he said to her. "Let's just get some punch. Are you thirsty?"
"Yes!" He was surprised when at the mention of drinks she rushed forward. She fumbled a bit with the ladle as he came up next to her, opting to take his drink from the other bowl.
"Well well! Looks like the ghost is here and greeting her guests, after all!"
He glanced over to another one of the guests, this one another Vampire like him (though not a lawyer) with a Zombie to go along with him. Not a moment after he had said this, a nearby guest dressed as a Devil piped up a snarky response. He frowned a bit.
"That's kind of rude..." he could not stop himself from saying. "Just enjoy what you can or leave, nobody's forcing you to stay, right?" He tried not to sound too snippy at this last part, instead simply trying to make a suggestion. He felt a pang of dread after he finished speaking, however, realizing that it could be taken any way they wanted to take it. He ducked his head a bit and poured himself a bit more punch to seem non-committed to this. The stuff tasted odd, but it was not bad.
"There's a ghost??" He looked to Tinkerbell. He had figured the bit about a ghost was simply because this was a Halloween party. A gimmick. The girl was most likely going to end up taking it more seriously than she should have, though. She quickly clung to him. "That is scary... I don't want it to be dark..!"

AHHH! I'm so sorry! I'm so so so so SO SORRY! It's such a pretty dress too. Hang on!
Well...at least he said it was pretty.
Belle's eyes slowly shut as the child ran back and forth in a panic trying to rub the chocolate stains off her dress... and subsequently making them that much worse. A few sharp, angered breaths later, Belle offered Chicken a smile and gently patted him on the head exactly three times. "It's okay, sweetie." Belle forced an incredibly sugar-coated tone, after all he was a kid. It would make her look bad to rag on him any longer, and berating children wasn't much of her style at all. "Just cool it on the chocolate scarfing next time, okay?"
And with that, Belle flashed him a happy little smile.
Beast was sharing Belle's sentiments of feeling bombarded by a child. With each pet and touch he felt his temper growing shorter and shorter like a fuse. Must...not...strangle...women...temptation...to...rising... Thankfully, Vampire Lawyer eased her away from him and he let out all his frustration with a sharp exhale out of his flared nostrils. The moment he heard Devil's response he probably would have agreed with him if it weren't for Lawyer's quick response. Beast felt his eyes roll up into his head... he needed to try this 'alcohol' that Belle kept talking about. Some magic elixir that would make all his anger go away - as she described it.
"Where's this punch thing? He called over to his partner who stepped over to him to help him out. She blinked blankly at the punch bowls to see that they weren't labeled and gave a shrug. "Uhhh... well there're two... so..."
Tell you what, how about we play a little game? First to enter the record room and turn off the music will win all the change I have in my pocket! And bragging rights, let's not forget that.
Of course, Belle had no interest in whatever amount of change in Vampire's pocket. However, when the words 'bragging rights' were thrown in the mix... Beast suddenly straightened right up. "Hah. I'll go! I ain't afraid of no ghost!"
Belle rolled her eyes, knowing that her partner was absolutely unaware he had just quoted Ghostbusters.
Beast wasn't happy to see that the Black Rider, Black Reaper, Dionysus, and Butterfly had already gotten a head start. The man straightened himself and rushed over and through the dark hallway, using his large hands to shift them out of the way, looking behind his shoulder at them and laughing loudly.
"I'M GOING TO WIN!"
Belle lingered behind... there was absolutely no chance that she was going to take the risk of getting pranked by some cheap scare. She was just waiting for her partner to run out screaming like a little girl. That'd make things fun.

The eerie, nervous gnawing in the pit of Dionysus' stomach grew worse as the group approached the hallway. What would they find at the end of the hall--an angry ghost? An angrier human? Maybe just a hobo who'd been living there for a month or two and suddenly decided to play some music? The inability to know was killing him. He wished he'd explored a little more when he'd gotten here so early, but the Butterfly hadn't wanted to stray from the beautiful entrance rooms. And it was true--they were beautiful. But eerily so.
He watched as the Reaper hesitated, glad that he wasn't the only one with mixed feelings about this endeavor. When the Rider willed her partner on, however, Dionysus was glad. Better him than me. Someone behind them was talking, but Dionysus was too preoccupied with this music business to be bothered to listen. It must not have been important, however, because--
"I'M GOING TO WIN!"
A large and hairy man had ran past the group, shoving the Butterfly rudely aside. The insect-clad woman fell, unstable in her delicate shoes, and gave an angry shout after the Beast. "YOU IDIOT!" Dionysus had gone forward to help his partner up but the independent Butterfly pushed him aside, pulled herself up, took off her shoes, and ran after the Beast.
Dionysus picked up the shoes and followed after his partner, though not nearly at such a high speed. If something happened (and he suspected it would), he wanted to be there. He would do his best to not get involved--to not anger this ghost, whoever it was. He didn't want to be possessed.. or.... whatever. But he was sure that whatever was to happen would be worth seeing.
Before he was halfway across the hall, the chill of fear had seeped into his bones and he nearly turned back. "ooh, this is fun..." It wasn't, at all, and his shaking tone made that perfectly clear.
