Post by Scarecrow and Doll on Sept 10, 2011 9:11:55 GMT -5
Scarecrow kept an equally angry gaze on the Cheshire Cat, hands balling into fists as he fought the urge to shove the girl…whoever she was. Gritting his teeth he brought his fists up to his sides, thinking that somehow that would supply him with more strength than his previous posture. Grow a pair!? How dare she!? Oh yeah, he’d grow a pair… a pair of horns if she kept it up!"Maybe when you start acting like a lady!" he barked back.
Doll was blissfully unaware of this fight, smiling up weakly to Lil Red and Wolf, hands anxiously prodding at her bow that had kept her dress together and then going to shuffle up between them and Alice. She was scared, she had to admit, but she would try to be strong for the sake of her new friends having fun! She wouldn’t mind being taken away from Scarecrow for the time being, especially with how rude he was being.
"A-anywhere.” she murmured to the two boys and the other girl with a tiny smile beneath her full-face mask. "M…maybe to see the pretty flowers outside?” she offered her idea shyly.
It was then that the music began to play … well it wasn’t really music, more like satanic chanting! The noise and screaming that came onto the record caused Doll’s hands to gently rise up to cover her ears, eyes squinting shut beneath the mask as she started panicking and softly pleading for them to get out of there.
“I don’t like it…I wanna go outside…I don’t like this…!”

Post by The Black Swan on Sept 10, 2011 15:36:54 GMT -5
She noticed a noise back at the Entryway, the voice of people. Her head turn slightly with a new sense of curiosity. Might as well move on over there than to be alone in a room with this organ, she thought. With that thought, The Black Swan stepped away from the room and into the next. Her face kept a calm expression as she gazed upon the others in the room.
The music wasn't a bother to her, or chanting. She wasn't bothered my a lot of things. Her tolerance was pretty high for a lady like her. At the corner of her eye she noticed the two yelling. She frowned a little from this then took a step away then peered over to Doll, Alice, and Lil' Red Riding Hood
"Um ... M-may I come with? Sorry to be a bother ... " Her voice was gentle. She didn't know what she was doing. One thing is for sure, it didn't take her that long to muster up a voice to speak. The Black Swan did not give much eye contact, her head was tilted slightly down. It was almost like she was being scolded for something.

The Vampire Lawyer shuddered. That was not a very pleasant noise to be hearing. A feeling of dread nestled solidly in his gut. This could very well have been one of those creepy ambiances that was rather well suited to this time of year. That did not stop him, and apparently others, from being unnerved by this.
"I've got a bad feeling about this..."
He turned to look at Belle who had spoken to him, his mouth hanging slightly open. His stupid expression was nicely hidden behind his mask, at least. "It's just... for Halloween," he said lamely. His tone was unsure despite his words. "This doesn't seem very fun." He felt bad pretty quickly after saying that. Now why would he go and insult the party like that. Something that that jerk from earlier had done too. Now here he was doing the same thing. How delightfully hypocritical.
Meanwhile in the hallway, Tinkerbell had tentatively started forward. She could hear people talking, but she did not really pay them any mind anymore. She was curious and nervous, and this dark area was a place others were not going toward. That made it interesting, right? She wante-

The fairy practically leapt right out of her outfit as someone poked her and shouted "Boo!" She let out a sharp, high-pitched scream and stumbled forward quickly. She ended up performing an awkward twirl as she fell, resulting in her bruising her butt against the wall before sliding down. A dramatic performance.
She stared at nothing for a moment, totally in shock, then finally looked up at the Sheet Ghost. "W-What's going on? What happened?" [/color] she squeaked, it not occurring to her that he had frightened her on purpose. "Do you know what's down there?" She pointed down the hallway. She recovered from that pretty fast, it seems. post count: 5 bits so far: 250 location: Room B (not A oops lol) and Hall J interacting with... Belle, Sheet Ghost, and Princess Tutu

Princess Tutu sighed, walking up to the two of them and poking at the ghost's side. "Happy now?" Despite herself, she was actually smiling. The costumed Tinkerbell did not seem angry with the scare, so that was good. Actually, she seemed to have recovered from it pretty darn fast. Especially considering her frantic display of fright.
Sheet Ghost was indeed immensely pleased with himself. He could barely contain his laughter as the fairy literally jumped in fright and proceeded to be a fairly good sport about it. No yelling, crying or any other unpleasantness followed. Such a perfect scare. It was exactly the reaction he had hoped for. As Princess Tutu approached, he turned to her and gave her a concealed, ghostly thumbs up.
"See? It's all good fun, right?" he nodded his head towards Tinkerbell, who did seem to be a tad bit confused (or perhaps she was just disorientated...he couldn't tell). He added, not really out of concern, but more out of curiosity of perhaps there being others lurking nearby, "Why are you out here all alone anyway? It's got to be boring as hell."
The ballerina tapped her fingers together. "I wonder if it's because of those weird noises?" Those unnerving, kind of scary, weird noises. Unlike her, though, her partner simply shrugged, unconcerned and dismissing them as ambiance picked for just such an occasion.

SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED!
Suddenly, the door to the record room opens! While there appears to be no one inside for a few moments, a figure dressed in a Wizard's costume steps out, tipping his top hat to the group of those inside Hallway I. "Well well.." he speaks in a slurred, gentle voice. "I see that you're all anxious to find out what was inside this room... however, it was only me messing with the acoustics, spooky, isn't it?"
Despite this introduction, the uneasiness in the air doesn't change at all. The man dressed in this costume tugs a bit on his long, white cape and gives a loud chuckle. "You best not say anything else that angers the spirit." he warned, glancing over at Devil in particular past the group. "She doesn't like that."
The mysterious man waves at them all dismissively, turning to lock the door behind him and tucking the key in his jacket pocket. "Oh, right. I am one of the organizers of this masquerade." he admitted with a slow nod. "So don't you think about messing with anything here! We have more supervisors throughout the mansion... and if they see you trying to sabotage the party they will be sure to punish you... and then kick you out."
With that warning he gives one last laugh and then pushes past the group... a very strange, cold air about him. The moment he exits the hallway he snaps his fingers, and the music suddenly changes.

Post by Zombie and Vampire on Sept 17, 2011 14:53:02 GMT -5
Zombie had been completely oblivious to all the commotion going on about chanting and screaming, seeming too absorbed with bringing her tagalong up the staircase with her. She took a few times to look over her shoulder and down at Fenrir, offering him a gentle smile here and there until they reached the top of the stairs. She came to a stop, however, when she was suddenly faced with the mirror that was said to give off a strange feeling the moment you laid eyes on it. Zombie watched it with quiet curiosity, then moved out of the way so Fenrir could see it once he reached the top of the stairs. "If you look at it for too long," she began, fighting back a mischievous a little smile. "You’re supposed to see the ghost."
She would only allow a few moments of this, however, until a song from her childhood began playing peacefully throughout the building. Zombie’s chin lifted as she looked around the dusty building before turning back to Fenrir, ”Follow me.” she invited him and turned her back to start her way onto the balcony through the private room, trying her best to ignore the eeriness thick in the air. She stalled once she got outside, the smell of orchids absolutely everywhere and the music still playing softly. Zombie turned to look over at Fenrir again, smiling invitingly to the other.
”Want to dance with me?”
Meanwhile, Vampire kept his arm secure around Dragon’s shoulder, feeling the effects of the alcohol. His red face only grew redder when he noticed that his companion had run off. The man huffed and grumbled as he peere into his cup, speaking to Dragon in anger. ”You give your heart to them and what do they do?! Stomp on it! " he fumbled with his cup and turned to look at Dragon. ”You know what I think!? To hell with them! We can find ladies of our own, can’t we, my friend?!"
This was announced, of course, half-heartedly before he frowned a bit, reaching up to touch where his heart had been. ”We are handsome, sensitive men beneath these masks! Who wouldn’t want us?! Come now, let’s find you a nice lady to dance with!” he announced, tugging Dragon from around the shoulder to go see what they could find.
”EXCUSE ME? LOVELY LADIES! WHO WANTS TO DANCE WITH MY FRIEND HERE?” Vampire announced, showing Dragon off as if they were at a freaking auction.

Beast was…frustrated, to say the least, when the source of their fear had been nothing but a dorky guy dressed like a Wizard tinkering around with a record player. The beastly man bared his teeth as the other so haughtily walked past them, but suddenly felt his blood run cold as the strange feeling followed the Wizard guy. Huh…that was strange. Something about this whole thing had been…strange. Beast just offered the other man a snort and turned to Butterfly to see that she had been cowering behind him. The man gave a proud huff and crossed his arms. ”Tch. And to think you were scared of that…bozo.”
Despite how sure and tough he sounded, he was sure to lower his voice when he said ‘bozo’ so that the other wouldn’t hear him. Beast strolled on by everyone in hallway I with his head held high and giving off a loud laugh.”You shoulda seen the look on ALL your faces.” he mocked them, though there was a lack of sincerity to it… he was just about as afraid as anyone there. Hopefully they wouldn’t catch him nearly tripping over himself when he went to return to the snack bar.
Belle was relieved to hear that the music had changed to something more…danceable to. She grinned down to Chicken who had so eagerly wanted to dance and gave him a nod. ”Id’ love to.” With that, Belle went to gingerly take both his hands and lead him a few paces away from the snack bar to start swaying lightly with him. ”How old are you, cutie-pie? You should be careful around the punch. Older kids like putting icky stuff in there that’d make you sick.”

“Remember to stay in character! We spent hours researching for this.”
When going to a costume party, one had to commit oneself to the character that they were portraying, so taking the time to get ready had been essential. Optimus was just lucky that the host had been gracious enough to give him a Digital Matrix so Bumblebee could attend as well. It would have been really boring without his best scout to make sure everything was on the level, which it was so far.
“As you command, Prime. Shall we scout for signs of Decepticons” The yellow Transformer said as he was shifting his blaster from the multiple entry points into the main entrance. He was getting the urge to shoot something, but there didn’t seem to be any current threats at the moment to his disappointment.
“No, we will start by doing some reconnaissance over by the table that holds human food. We must get to know some of these people in order to see if there are signs of trouble.” The two of the proceeded to the snack area with blasters at the ready to do combat with whatever they might find. Their eyes scanned the room to find that it was free of hostiles, so the proceeded over to the refreshments.
“Alright Bumblebee! We will refill our energy packs and then begin to question the natives for signs of the Decepticons.” He then proceeded to stuffing food into the small opening on his ‘head’, while glancing to the left and right for signs of someone trying to sneak up on him. This was beginning to be a whole lot of fun.
"Sounds like a good plan, Prime.” After saying that, Bumblebee proceeded to scarfing down as much food as possible. Once they were done with the food, the two of them began looking around at the locals to see what sort of species they were. "My sensors do not recognize most of these species, Prime. What should we do if they don’t speak any language in our databanks."
“Well Bumblebee, we will proceed with caution.” Prime walked over to one individual that was covered in hair who most certainly looked like a Beast. He then tapped him on the shoulder with the tip of his weapon to get his attention. “Excuse me, sir. Do you speak and if so, do you speak English?”

"Soooooo!" an overly exaggeratedly deep voice spoke in an equally overly exaggerated way. "How'z diz, brah?" the speaker tried their best to not giggle at their own antics.
"You uh might want to pull back on that a bit," the other figure replied with a shake of their head. Ahead of them she had seen two others enter the mansion, but it seemed like such a small amount. She pulled at her sunglasses to try to see better. She thought that there would be more. Or were they late?
"No way... mannnnnn! I got dis quote book... uh... pamphlet.... gangstas ... uh... ain't... no readin no books... yo!" A cheesy grin was flashed as they reached the doors. The 'pamphlet' was pulled out and flipped through for a moment before an inane quote was chosen. "Yo, girlfren! Didjoo jus bust caps on mah hydraulics?"
There was a beat of silence.
Trinity from The Matrix burst out laughing like a lunatic while the Gangsta looked on with a big fat grin. Then they were both laughing like idiots. Then they entered the mansion, fashionably late.
The Gangsta threw his arms up and shouted out toward everyone "I am gonna beat downnnnnn dat gangsta wifma kicks! WORD!!"
This startled Trinity out of her mind and she muttered softly. "Oh wait no please stop don't do tha It was hilarious between them, but she was not so sure that they should go around shouting those stupid phrases at random people like that.

They were late. Raven didn't really have a problem with it, and from Fox's rather agreeable silence, she didn't expect many complaints.
She hadn't really expected to come to such a... formal event, but at the same time, it was definitely new. And unexpected. She spent some time gazing up at the rather impressive chandelier, before turning to stare at the sign welcoming them in.
"I suppose there's no sense in delaying the inevitable, " she said with a sigh, and walked forward, Fox an ever present shadow. Her costume rustled gently as she walked, ink black and vaguely iridescent feathers providing the accents to her stylized mask. Fox would have been forgettable if not for the bright russet of his costume, completed with pointed ears.
They had only gone a few steps when someone in front of them started... shouting. Fox just stopped and looked at Gangsta bewildered, but she gestured for him to keep going. "It's fine, he's just playing his role." A gangster, though? Really?
"Which room should we go to?" Fox asked quietly, and she shrugged as they passed into the lounge.
That was odd. The music playing sounded like some sort of death metal, if one took out the metal and left only the ominous background of chanting. Hardly good for a party atmosphere....

Red smiled hopefully at the others in his mask, clearly excited to see what ever might be going on in this very house hold. It was clear of course, that what ever these kids were doing, Wolf would come along, to make sure they were safe and sound, and didn't get into any accidental trouble. Of course, Wolf was mostly referring to the boy he had come to this party with, for Red always seemed to have a knack for running into some kind of trouble. He certainly didn't want someone like Doll to get into the same kind of trouble because of Red's actions. He did want to leave, and especially leave the other angry guests behind, everyone needed to have a good time here after all, and well...the others were simply making everyone feel awkward. It wouldn't be so bad to leave them to fight out their differences and then come back when everything was settled right?
Red was clearly already about to leave, smiling sweetly at Doll, he rather liked this girl, she was quite...adorable, much like a doll. The ideas of going outside sounded rather refreshing after being in such a crowded house. "Well, okay!" smiled Little Red Riding Hood, gesturing for her to follow him. Then...something rather horrible happened to the mask stranger, the music that was once playing stopped and something new started to play. It was....horrid worse yet, it struck up sudden fear in his chest. Where was it coming from? Why? His whole body started to tremble almost visibly "Ah!" was the only sound that was able to come out of his mouth. Behind his mask, he looked desperately at wolf, as though begging for his companion to help them get out of here, it was quite scary!
Wolf couldn't agree more with Lil Red Riding Hood, but instead of fear, he felt outrage. How dare the DJ play such awful noise! How dare he or she dare scare these poor darlings. "Uh. Yes Let's leave now!" he nodded, sounding incredibly unhappy and stern, "Come along, children," when he turned, much to his surprise and Red's (also making the Red Riding Hood jump out of his skin), there was yet another fair young lady. As though Red Riding Hood snapped out of his fear, he smiled kindly once more at Black Swan " Yes, we'd love for you to join us, we were just going outside...right...? Red turned his gaze to Wolf and Doll. Wolf of course nodded "Come with us," he smiled, bowing down, despite still getting increasingly angry with the chanting that was going on. The chanting stopped, making Wolf and Red look around, the bipolarity of the whole dance with rather driving both of them crazy. "Ahh... Which way is that?

A short and rather lanky figure strolled up languidly to the front of the place. There was a tap-tapping with each step from the ebony cane the figure carried. Its manner of walking easily drew attention from anyone gazing out the front door, as each step seemed outlandishly flamboyant, and each gesture was a pull for the eyes.
Charles Chaplin. A much shorter and skinnier Chaplin, to be sure, but the bowler cap, the short mustache, and the mannerisms that had called all eyes to him in the era of the silent film... they were all there. When he arrived in front of the mansion he tilted back his bowler cap and made a show of craning his neck back to look up and down the height of it. Then, hooking his cane over one arm, he made a grandiose gesture to invite his companion to step forward.
Zorro was quite the opposite his companion. Silent and stalwart under his mask, with a sleek mustache and frame that contrasted sharply with the gangly look of Chaplin. He gave Chaplin a doubtful look as the silent comedian waved him on, but then he made his way through the open door of the mansion. Tension was clear on his face as he surveyed the guests that could be seen from the entrance. Everyone was dressed up so strangely, why had they...?
Zorro glanced back at Chaplin, who had walked in behind him, and opened his mouth to say something. Chaplin instantly brought a finger to Zorro's lips, meeting the other's eyes seriously for a moment before withdrawing his finger and then prancing toward the open Lounge to the right of the entrance.
Upon entering the door Chaplin doffed his cap and bowed low. With his cap off it was obvious that Chaplin had an odd abundance of hair... in fact he appeared to have hidden the greater length of it down the back of his shirt. No matter, his hat was back on a moment as soon as the over-emphasized gesture was completed.
Ignoring the food, Charles appeared more interested in the music. Without a word he took Zorro's hands in his and began to waltz out into the middle of the room with his companion. Zorro clumsily tried to follow Charlie's movements but was having obvious trouble keeping up. Again he opened his mouth to voice a protest and again Charlie shushed him with a single finger. Zorro bit back whatever he had been trying to say, and instead looked over Charlie's head (their heights were vastly different) and out into the crowd with a helpless air, perhaps seeking someone else for Charles to dance with to save him from tripping over his own two feet and stepping on poor Charlie's.

Post by Fenrir and Dragon on Sept 18, 2011 3:54:47 GMT -5
Fenrir had been pretty much oblivious to what was going on downstairs, mostly because he only had the mental capacity to focus on one or two things at the moment. Currently his focus was split between navigating the stairs without falling flat on his face, and on following Zombie wherever she was leading him. For a faint moment his thoughts wandered to Dragon, wondering if his companion was alright without him... Though he had to figure he was. These thoughts served to nearly obliterate his focus on the two previously mention tasks, and as a result he nearly bumped into the girl as she stopped.
"If you look at it for too long, You’re supposed to see the ghost."
...Ghost?
Fenrir tilted his head to the side a little as if he was trying to remember anything he might have been told about ghosts, his eyes staying on the mirror... However as he was told to follow his eyes left the glass and he trailed after Zombie. He followed her out to the balcony and looked around, hands fiddling with his cup a little. The boy noticed he felt a tinge of nervousness for whatever reason, taking the last sip of punch from his cup as if it would help. As she asked if he wanted to dance he stalled with his answer, a little frown coming to his face.
"I don't think I know how." Was his quiet and nearly embarrassed reply.
Dragon of course was still stuck with Vampire but it wasn't like he really minded, just sipping his punch and noting he felt less and less unnerved over being away from his partner. As he started to speak in an almost angry tone he looked up at his taller companion, giving little nods even though he felt he didn't entirely comprehend the conversation. All he really got out of it was something about girls and them being handsome and stuff, he honestly didn't know what a word meant... Kind of sad but true. Then he found himself tugged forward, stumbling a little with the movement.
”EXCUSE ME? LOVELY LADIES! WHO WANTS TO DANCE WITH MY FRIEND HERE?”
...Say what?
Dragon's face went rather red, and not just from the alcohol. He gained a deer-in-headlights look behind his mask, feeling oddly self conscious suddenly. Uh... But... I uhhhhh.... Sorta can't dance." He said quietly, tilting his his head up to look at Vampire. In fact, in all honesty... He wasn't really sure he even knew what dancing was.
And with all these new people coming in there was just more people to make a fool of himself in front of... Especially girls, he was sure some were girls... Maybe.

Post by Macbeth and Seline on Sept 18, 2011 17:11:30 GMT -5
Macbeth was sat down at the table, admiring his reflection in a glass of punch. A weighty golden crown resting atop his brow that glimmered faintly as it caught the light. Alone it would seem for the moment, there was a strange discordant sound coming from one of the other rooms, an eerie chanting replacing the music he had been otherwise enjoying.
Grunting, he pulled himself out of the comfortable chair, abandoning his drink and dragging his feet across the floor. Opening the door out into the corridor, the sound of the music grew stronger, and with care he pressed his ear up against the wall. The scratching of an old record on the other side stirring within him a feeling of great uneasiness.
"Weird Sister, thy presence I most urgently seek." spoke he in a voice both commanding and stern, a foul stench rising in the hallway as the door to the bathroom softly opened, a shrouded figure with flowing silver hair stepping out following the sound of a gurgling flush. "Knowest thou the source of this racket most infernal?" Folding his arms, he watched as the lady Seline returned to him from her stagnant lair, her beauty contrasted only by the smell of putrification that now stained her otherwise elegant hooded garments.
"I know not Mylord what bothers thee... if my counsel thy does truly crave, take heed and seek the source, so thee should!"
Nodding, Macbeth beckoned his occult benefactor to follow as he rounded the corner that seperated his refuge from the areas where the commoners mostly mingled, finding himself not alone in seeking the cause of the most inhuman commotion. Setting his eyes upon the Black Reaper, he reached out to get his attention.
"Spectre, what is this gathering here? Why do you linger?"

Not taking any notice of a condescending look and comment, Gangsta happily continued on further into the mansion with his partner.
”EXCUSE ME? LOVELY LADIES! WHO WANTS TO DANCE WITH MY FRIEND HERE?”
Gansta lit up at the Vampire's announcement and grabbed at Trinity's arm, urging her forward. "So cute! You sh-I MEAN-Go jig wif him, brah!" The costumed punk was trying so hard to keep up the speech pattern the entire night. That was their little self-challenge.
"What?" the leather-clad girl stiffened, but otherwise did not physically protest. Verbally, however, "please don't make me, why don't you dance with him instead?"
"You trippin, brah! I dun dance with no uh..." there was a glance at the 'pamphlet.' "Dawgs? Dat right? Yeah!"
The girl sighed and gave her friend one last pleading look. She did not want to protest out loud anymore, as they had come well within hearing range of the Dragon and the Vampire. Gangsta was insistent, however, and happily ignored her look. "Yo, bro! Mah homie will dance wif ya! Word!"
Trinity felt a tinge of embarrassment for her friend. This was getting ridiculous. They were obviously having a blast, though, but she still could not help that tiny wince at each awkward word derived from the little booklet.
