"La la lala la! Follow me! Follow me! Fa lalala la la!"
Midday within the city and young Sonia was already making her way home from school. It was on a path that she knew well, constantly taking it since her arrival in Japan some time ago. But instead of moving through the sidewalk, keeping up with the crowd of other students her age, the young blonde giggled as she moved behind an alley, pulling out a small note encased in an open envelope. It was something that she kept on her person always, ever since receiving it in the mail back in California.
"Dear Sonia, It will be strange for you to understand this, but I am your mother. The last time I saw you was back when you were four years old and it was at that time that your father and I left you in the care of the government. I'm sure there is much that you would like to understand, but for now we would simply like to meet you. So if permitted by your family, please come see us in Odaiba, Japan.
Love, Your mother"
With a large grin, Sonia hugged the letter to her chest, almost crumpling it in her grasps. She had to find them. Maybe they were already looking for her? While she hadn't received any more letters since arriving, the girl was certain that they were here. Perhaps they were just trying to see how badly she wanted to find them?
"If that's it.. Then there's no time to lose!!"
With a confident expression imprinted upon her face, it faded quickly under her cheerful smile as she carried herself and her book-bag through the alley in attempt to find the address listed upon the envelope. It seemed like it would be a long venture, but she had made sure to leave a note that morning at home so that her adopted parents knew where she was going. Of course, they probably wouldn't see it in till they both got home in an hour or maybe not at all if she got home first.

Rage. Fear. Hate.
BlackGabumon growled in his cage. He was angry at the world. Life was so unfair. He wouldn't have been so upset if he hadn't been moved from the A.I.R camp. The A.I.R building made him angrier, It stunk of filthy humans. Even the digimon here smelled of humans. He was ready to lash out at the smallest think. Or at least he would have, if he had the opportunity. His cage was too secure for that, though.
He glared around him. In his cage he trembled slightly. No matter how much of a tough front he put up, he was still terrified of this place. He was terrified of being in the human world. Afraid of being alone. Afraid of never leaving this building. And worse. Afraid he would never go home again. Afraid he would be forgotten.
He hated the A.I.R building in the human world. He hated how the building looked. It was so polished and looming. He had only been moved here recently, from the A.I.R camp. He liked it there better. It was in the digital world, even if he wasn't free there, he was still in his home world. Here was so alien to him. He didn't know how to react to anything.

The further she went, the more Sonia was starting to regret her decision. After all, she only knew so much of the city. Which at this point. she was starting to enter the area that she didn't know. It was darker than she had ever seen. Almost to the point that it felt like there was a strange mist blocking enough of the sun to make everything covered in a thin shadow. Her steps had slowed, holding her hands close to her chest as she passed faces that seemed to just stare at her, watching her as she moved past.
Its ok....I have to be close....right?
Sonia held her nerves, despite the fear starting to build up within her. It was at this point that she found herself bumping into the side of a tall building. With a stunned expression, the young girl blinked before leaning to the side to get a better view of the front entrance. It couldn't be here that she'd find her parents could it? The address seemed to mention the name of this street, but nothing about any exact numbers.
"Maybe this is where they work? Wow...It so big...."
Looking around as she watched people more in and out of the complex building structure, Sonia finally made her move, walking inside quickly behind a group of people in dark blue suits.
It was amazing how someone could make something so big, and still so beautiful on the inside. While she had been in such buildings before, even the work place of her adopted father wasn't this huge and nice. This place seemed to hold such class and grace, but still such a straight forward business appeal. Doing her best to keep up with the well dressed group, she noticed them make their way towards a door with a large X that was encircled and dyed red.
"I probably shouldn't......."
Sonia knew what signs meant, especially ones labeled like the one before her. But even she had to admit that her curiosity was getting the better of her. Besides, would a small peek really hurt anyone?
Making sure that no one had yet to notice her, the girl quickly rushed inside the door, closing it behind her. Moving through the dark pathway, she then saw herself within a large open space, surrounded in blinking lights. Setting her bag down upon the floor as she rubbed her exposed shoulder, the young girl slowly walked into the room with her eyes focused upon every flashing light that caught her attention. Though what happened next was enough to cause her to step back in fear.
"What...what is this place?!"
Creatures small and tall walked through the halls beside humans. Some in cages, others in cages. It was like something she'd seen in a circus or even a scary movie. While the men in white lab coats seemed to ignore her, others just stared as they walked by almost as if to show how confused they were to see someone like her in such a location. Which was enough of a cue for Sonia to go.
So as she began to back up, her hands lightly began to trace a foreign object behind her. Though when she slowly turned around to face it, the girl gasped before falling upon the ground before it. The being inside the cage held a black fur coat upon it's shoulders, as well as what appeared to be a horn on it's head. With sharp teeth and what looked to be a scowled expression, he was obviously not the most happy of creatures.

BlackGabumon glanced around at the sound of a high, new voice. Most of the researchers and A.I.R members were quiet and he had heard their voices before. He spotted the source of the noise and discovered it to be a small human. It seemed young, though he couldn't tell the age from looking at it. He was inheritably bad at doing so with humans. They all looked the same to him.
He growled when he saw it back closer to his cage. He didn't want to have to deal with this. He snarled at it to try and shoo it away.He wanted to avoid talking to it if possible. He had refused to speak a word since entering this wretched place. He bared his teeth at it, trying to scare it more, anything to make another hurt as bad as him.
When he saw how scared it was he felt a strange feeling, something he hadn't felt in a long time, guilt. This human was small and young, and though it was a human he felt bad for it. "Oh come now." He grumbled at her, "I can't truly be that scary?" He watched her to see her reaction. "I only made a little noise and smiled at you."

Hearing his voice was enough to remind her the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. The only difference being that this wolf was already caged and contained. Though the fact that an animal was attempting to have a conversation with her was enough to bring her thoughts straight into that of fantasy. It had to be a dream of some kind right? How else was this possible? While she was still a believer in Santa and even the idea that there were pots of gold at the end of rainbows, even Sonia knew that animals couldn't speak. At least, not English or other human languages.
But....Then how is it talking to me?
Slowly rising to her feet, the small girl blinked as she cautiously approached the cage. But she didn't move too close, ensuring that there was some distance between them.
"Im...sorry...It's just that I've never seen a talking animal before...."
Doing her best to remain calm, the girl sat down upon the floor, crossing her legs as she placed her hands upon her lap. From there, Sonia just stared at the being before her, narrowing her eyes as she leaned from one side to the other in her attempt to find the person responsible for the voice. Though when she saw no one, the child stopped and returned her gaze towards the cage.
"Why are you in a cage? What is this place?"

"Im...sorry...It's just that I've never seen a talking animal before...."
BlackGabumon howled with anger. "I AM NOT ONE OF YOUR PATHETIC ANIMALS! I AM NOT SOME FILTHY HUMAN PET!" He lunged at the bars of his cage in blind rage. An electrical field propelled him back, his claws scrapping across the bottom of the cage and emitting a high-pitched shriek. He snarled and glared at the human furiously. He was further aggravated by her sitting in front of his cage, mocking him.
"Why are you in a cage? What is this place?"
"I am in a cage because some brainless human put me in here." He growled, looking for a way out of the cage for the hundredth time. "This is the A.I.R building, where they take all of us they capture after the camp." He stopped his searched and turned to glare at the human again. "But shouldn't you already know that?"

Something seemed to be keeping the creature restrained, especially since his attempt to lunge at her had been halted by what looked like some kind of electrical field. That didn't stop Sonia from flinching, reeling back somewhat, but remaining where she was. She wasn't sure why, but something about him just seemed sad. It reminded her of many animals she'd seen in cages at the zoo. They acted tough, but they were more than likely afraid. Though, this was clearly not an animal, but something else.
"Sorry...sorry!"
Holding her arm up to the level of her eyes, Sonia then regain her composure as she continued to listen to the being as he answered her question. While it seemed like a simple explanation, the girl wasn't sure if that was all there was to it. Of course, she didn't wish to offend the creature further. Though when he suggested that she should already know this, Sonia quickly shook her head as she placed her hands on both sides of her body while she leaned back upon them and let her gaze turn towards the ceiling.
"Actually....I was looking for my parents. I thought that they were in this building or maybe working here. But...then I saw a weird door and walked in...."
The thought of this occurrence reminded her that she was still on a mission of her own, yet she didn't have any idea where to start? With the idea of this address being wrong, she might have to give up and try another location. But she wasn't in that much of a hurry to continue. Not when she had just met someone who was so interesting.
"I'm Sonia.....Whats your name?"

"Sorry...sorry!""Actually....I was looking for my parents. I thought that they were in this building or maybe working here. But...then I saw a weird door and walked in...."
BlackGabumon huffed impatiently. "So you came here from pure ignorance. Well, what a wonderful example of a human's primitive, insignificant, inferior human's mind." He growled angrily. Again he felt the strange tinge of guilt he had felt the first time he had been mean to this human. Maybe there was a connection...? No. He felt nothing for humans. Nothing other than hate.
"I'm Sonia.....Whats your name?"
He bared his fangs at her. "I have no name, I lost it when I was captured. I don't deserve it, if I am so weak as to be captured by humans." He snarled the word like poison. "I am a BlackGabumon, but if you must call me something, call me Sora." He glared at the human while he said it. He was still unsure of it's gender. It appeared to be a female though. It didn't really matter to him. All humans were the same in his eyes.

It was clear at this point that the creature wasn't much of a human fan. Though still she continued to remain where she was. Fear was easily pushing her towards fleeing this place. The location alone was scary enough, but with beings like this made it even more terrifying. Yet she stayed and listened. Maybe it was due to the fact that she had no where else to go at this point, or perhaps she believed she could help the caged monster. But, could she really call it that? Monster just seemed like such a harsh definition, and she really didn't feel like it fit.
While she did think his statement of calling her choice to come in this way ignorant somewhat annoying, Sonia just crossed her arms over her chest and huffed right back as she looked away with a soured expression. After all, she didn't think of herself having an inferior mind. In fact, Sonia thought that she was pretty clever. How else would she have managed to get so far on her own?
"Hmph! Don't have to be so mean about it. It's called curiosity....not ignorance...."
As she began to wonder if he would even try to answer her question, Sonia found herself surprised when he did. While it seemed as though it had been forced out, the girl grinned as she once again rested her hands upon her lap and stared towards the cage with her full attention. While she wasn't sure about why he seemed to think of himself as weak, the girl continued to pay attention and decided to just hold her questions for when he had finished.
" Sora?......Hehe...Well it's nice to meet you Sora..."
Looking at the Blk.Gabumon though his barred prison, the blonde then looked around slowly as she wondered if anyone had heard them so far? At this point, everything was still quiet. But how much longer in till she might find herself in trouble? But as before, she allowed her curiosity to direct her attention away from concerns while she proceeded in her conversation.
"So Sora...If your not an animal...What exactly are you?"

"Hmph! Don't have to be so mean about it. It's called curiosity....not ignorance...."
BlackGabumon laughed. Actually laughed! It sounded more like nails on a chalkboard. It was rusty and scratchy from so long not being used. "Maybe your right, it's in my nature to judge quickly and harshly." He grumbled. He grinned at her toothily, looking nearly identical to his baring his teeth.
"So Sora...If your not an animal...What exactly are you?"
He picked his teeth while he considered whether or not to answer. "I am a digimon, a digital monster. We live in the digital world, the world alongside yours. I used to live there too. Until I was taken here. Now I have to live out my days trapped here in a cage." He ended with a growl. He was getting a little annoyed, he didn't like humans to begin with, talking to one was more than he had ever done. This was the first human he had talked to.

Sonia wasn't sure at first, but she could swear that the creature was laughing. It wasn't something she had expected from someone who had been so hard and mean only moments ago. But, it somewhat relieved her to see that the being did have a sense of humor. It even looked like he was smiling, yet it was hard to tell since it looked so similar to the moment he had barred his teeth towards her.
The surprises continued as he once again answered her, even if it seemed like he wasn't too excited to do so. Watching him pick his teeth with one of his dark claws, Sonia took in the idea of there being another world close to her own, one where creatures like Sora roamed. She also found herself feeling sad for the Digimon after hearing that he was taken away from it. Just like she was.
"I see why you hate humans so much....I should probably feel the same way towards my parents..."
A sad expression appearing over her face. Looking away the girl recalled the moment she watched her parents walk away, backs turned as she screamed for them from behind a window. How they drove away without looking back, never telling her what she did wrong?
"But...I want to believe that there's a reason why bad things happen....Maybe......I don't know...."

BlackGabumon was starting to get restless. Maybe he was saying too much. He was usually too angry and wild to talk to anyone. Especially humans. Sometimes he talked to other captive digimon, but he was never so calm. He felt comfortable and relaxed around this human. It scared him that he should feel so relaxed when he was in a cage talking to a human who on a whim could torture him.
"I see why you hate humans so much....I should probably feel the same way towards my parents...""But...I want to believe that there's a reason why bad things happen....Maybe......I don't know...."
Sonia seemed sad as she said that. He felt a strange urge to comfort her. He shook his head, trying to clear it. His hard mask appeared again. His mind started calculating the human. Maybe if he could trick her, he could get her to help him escape. The only problem would be getting out of the human world and back to the digital world.
"Perhaps bad things do happen for a reason. But you never know until you confront the ones who made it happen." Perfect. That should get the ball rolling. "What did your parents do?" He made a compassionate expression, only the slightest hint of uneasiness showed in his eyes.

"Well...It was back when I was little...I barely remembered what the day was like before it happened..."
The girl's hands remained in her lap as Sonia took a deep breath and began talking once again.
Moment Music
"I remember that we had just finished going to the park. I had just managed to hit a soft ball with a bat all by myself for the first time. I knocked it right out into the furthest part of the field. Mommy and Daddy seemed so happy and proud of me. Daddy even took me upon his shoulders and ran around in a circle cheering..."
A smile sneaked upon her face as she recalled the man's smiling face and her mother's giggles as they celebrated that one and final moment. Then the image of a dark car ride entered her mind, causing the smile to disappear into a calm expression.
"But then...we all got into the car and we drove up through the city in till we reached a large building. Mommy took my hand....and Daddy took the other as they walked up the steps into a white room. Then, a lady at the desk talked to Daddy as Mommy settled me into a room to play with some other kids...Then she left....."
Closing her eyes, the blonde haired girl could feel a small tear slide down her face before she quickly wiped it away and then looked to the side as if she were seeing the whole event recall itself before her.
"After a long time, I walked over to the door to see what was taking them so long. Thats when I saw that they begun to leave. I rushed out the room, calling out to them. But then a woman grabbed my hand and stopped me from leaving the front door. I kept calling for them, but they didn't look at me....They didn't even look back as they got into the car. I screamed.....but they didn't stop...They just kept driving away...I left me behind..."
Breathing out as she relaxed, a smile then reappeared as she held out the letter in her hands for Sora to see.
"But look! They set me a letter! I think they want me to find them! So that's what Im going to do!"

"But look! They set me a letter! I think they want me to find them! So that's what Im going to do!"
BlackGabumon gave the human a skeptical look. "It all sounds a little suspicious." He growled "It sounds like a set-up. Even if it isn't, they abandoned you. Why should you be at their beck and call? You owe them nothing." He gave Sonia a look of sincere concern. Surely she realized that she was just setting herself up for disappointment?
He plopped himself down in his cage. He was so tired of fighting and acting tough. He just wanted to get out of this horrible place and go home. He sighed. He closed his eyes for a moment. "Well I think it is pointless. They will just disappoint you again." He told her bitterly "They always do, and always will"

Sonia was more than aware of it's possibility. In fact, she had nightmares of a terrible end to this journey nights before. It had almost prevented her from going through with her idea that very day. But something seemed to push her forwards, even with the chance that she might be heart broken. She didn't owe them anything, but they owed her something. An explanation, a reason for why they left her behind. If she could get that, Sonia believed that she'd be happy, even if they didn't want her.
"Maybe...But....There's always a chance of the opposite right? That one shot is worth doing it..."
Grinning from ear to ear, the young then let her smile fade as she stood up and placed her hands on her hips. It seemed that she had all her questions answered, but now there seemed to be one thing left to do.
"So Sora...How do we get you out of here? Is there a key somewhere?"
Looking around for a moment, the girl walked around the cage to see if there was a switch to open it.
