"Maybe...But....There's always a chance of the opposite right? That one shot is worth doing it..."
BlackGabumon grunted. Sonia just seemed to be one of those humans that thought there was a bright and happy side too everything. He certainly never would give someone who disappointed him a second chance. No one he had met yet had been worth enough to him for him to even think about forgiving them. He supposed Sonia was different.
"So Sora...How do we get you out of here? Is there a key somewhere?"
He gave her an incredulous look. Was she serious?! He never believed it would be this easy for him to get her to help him! But he knew from seeing first-hand that there was only three ways to leave the building. Transfer to the A.I.R camp, bought by a human, or as digital code. He was hoping to get out of A.I.R facilities for good, and not to die, so he decided being bought would be his best bet.
"You won't be able to get me out of here." He told her, "The only way out of here for good is to be bought by a hollow one. Which you, my dear, are not. And even if you were i doubt you could afford the digivice, let alone me!" He sighed. He was fairly sure she wouldn't have enough money to buy him.

Raising her eye brow, the girl blinked as she looked around for a moment before running lightly towards her book bag. Opening it quickly, the young girl began digging through it's contents for a moment, obviously searching for something of great importance. Though when it looked as if she hadn't found something, Sonia giggled before turning back towards the cage, holding both hands behind her back. Walking gingerly towards Sora within his confines, the red dressed female grinned as she then swiftly pulled both her hand outs, showing what looked to be a money card in her both her hands.
"Surprise! It came with the letter I got from my parents. I didn't want to tell my adopted family about it because they would get worried about having something like this. But it has about 5000 dollars on it. Would that be enough?"
Sonia wasn't sure why they gave her so much money, but she figured that they would be happy to hear that she used it to help someone in need. Sora seemed to dislike being here, so maybe helping him would make him happy. It just seemed like the right thing to do. Though another question came to her as she smile faded and was left with a blank expression.
"Also...whats a Hollow one?"

"Surprise! It came with the letter I got from my parents. I didn't want to tell my adopted family about it because they would get worried about having something like this. But it has about 5000 dollars on it. Would that be enough?"
BlackGabumon was surprised. He hadn't expected the girl to have any money, especially not that much! He nodded to her, "That should be more than enough." He gave he a reproachful look. "You may want to know that once you buy a digimon, it is bonded to you with a digivice, if you buy me I will have to go with you wherever you go. I cannot go back to my home. I will be forced to live with you until my life ends, and vice versa."
He grimaced. "But if you are sure you want to, you need to talk to an A.I.R member and buy a digivice and get them to bond us." He glanced around. "Nearly anyone around here would do. That is why they let you walk around, they thought you were a customer. But they are probably getting suspicious by now." He glared at one of the men closest to them, who had turned around and was watching them gaugingly. "All you have to do is ask one of them for my digivice and say that you would like to buy me."
"Also...whats a Hollow one?"
"A hollow one is what you become when you buy a digivice and a digital partner that you have to be bonded to. They are artificial digidestined, a term I am sure you aren't familiar with. I can tell you more but not here. You would be in trouble if they overheard us." He told her nervously, shifting from foot to foot.

Sonia listened to the Digimon and blinked as she found herself somewhat hesitant now. What she had hoped was that after she freed him, Sora would be able to return home. But it seemed that in buying him, he would be stuck with her forever. Was this something that he wanted? The small girl couldn't help but be skeptical, looking towards the rather mean looking individual and then back towards Sora.
"Um...Ok....But..."
As she was about to ask if it was something he wanted, Sonia stopped herself when she realized that he probably didn't have too many choices here. It was this or likely remaining here in till someone else did it. Maybe with her, they could find a way to get him home. But, how would she keep him out of sight from her adopted parents? There would be no way they'd allow her to keep him when they saw him.
Also, what about her own mission? Was she not supposed to be trying to find her real parents? This seemed to be going completely in the opposite direction. Yet, something seemed to tell her differently. It was almost as though a force was pulling her into doing this.
I...I guess it's settled then
Softly gulping, the young girl then put on a serious expression as she walked towards the nearest AIR member as she held up her hand and pointed towards Sora's cage.
"I want him...."

"Um...Ok....But..."
Being the usual anal character he is, BlackGabumon immediately jumped to the conclusion that Sonia's hesitation was because she was loath to be stuck with him. Not that he could be more wrong. He gave a little 'harrumph' and tapped his claws against the bars of the cage for a moment. Then he watched Sonia walk over to an A.I.R member.
"I want him...."
The man looked up at the girls approach. "Well" He rubbed his chin, "I suppose you can have him, but are you sure? We have plenty of other, more...... friendly digimon here. That one is a bit of a handful." He scratched his head. "But I suppose we can ring him up for you, just a sec." He walked over to a cabinet and pulled out a device. He handed it to Sonia. "Here is his digivice. Now go over to him and hold it up to his cage. He should do the rest."
The man held his hand out for her card. "Now the digivice is £1000 and the digimon is £3500, so £4500 is your total." He swiped her card and finished the transaction. "He's all yours. And don't worry about him going wild on you, he can't do anything bad to you once you bond."

"Nope...I want him. But thank you for your concern..."
With a calm expression, the girl retrieved the Digi-vice as well as her card before nodding and walking over towards the cage. It didn't seem like that hard a process. But she did wonder just how life would be at this point? Was there really no way for them to separate? The girl honestly didn't want to leave him miserable if he wished to just go home. If it were her, she would wish to be free to make her own choice as well. Yet, it appeared that he didn't have that luxury.
I'll...just try and make him as happy as possible. At least in till we find a way to get him home. But the Digital World...Could it really be so close?
Standing before the cage, the young girl gave the Blk.Gabumon a sheepish grin as she held the Digi-vice in both hands as she tilted her head to the side.
"So...What next?"

BlackGabumon watched Sonia talk to the human A.I.R member and then finishing the transition, walk over to him. He looked up at her standing in front of his cage. He was, unconsciously, jealous of the human she had talked to. It was strange for him, an emotion he had never experienced before. Because he had never experienced it, he didn't know what it was. He easily brushed it aside as pent-up rage. Or sadness.
"So...What next?"
"Like the human said, hold it up to my cage, I will do the rest." He told her. "Don't be afraid, and don't hate me for it" The last part was more him begging her, than instructing her. He was still scared of rejection. Even for something so artificial as this bond, he still feared to not be accepted. He gave he a sad look for a moment, something that only lasted the blink of an eye, then it was gone. Gone like his dreams of freedom and finding his true partner, the partner he had been waiting for all his life, before he was captured.

Sonia smile faded as she stared towards the cage with a look of confusion. He seemed to be somewhat frightened, at least for a moment. It was hard to tell what the Digimon was thinking, especially since he was so quick to change his expressions. In the short time she had been talking to the Blk.Gabumon, the young girl understood that he was hiding something. Was it his fear or his hate for his situation? Neither seemed pleasant to think about, but she couldn't judge him harshly for it. There was really no telling what the creature had gone through to get to this point.
"Why would I hate you?"
Giving Sora a small smile, she held up the Digi-vice towards the Digimon as she waited for what would happen next. Though in truth, she braced herself by looking away, thinking that this bond would be something painful. It was the same thing she did when she had to get a shot, closing her eyes and looking away in till it was over. But if it was a bond for life, was it a pain that would go away?
"Ok...I'm ready..."

"Why would I hate you?"
BlackGabumon grumbled nervously. If Sonia couldn't think of anything, he didn't want to give her any ideas. He glanced around once more at the humans going about their duties. Most of them seemed to be leaving the room, so as to get out of the way. He shifted from foot to foot, having last-minute worries. What if I am too broken for it to work properly? What if it rejects me? What if she rejects me? What if I do something wrong and we don't bond right? What if i hurt us both?
His panic subsided as Sonia gave him a smile. He felt strangely calmed by it. Like no matter what happened, she wouldn't abandon him. Maybe, just maybe, she could make him better. He gave her a small smile in return. The first smile that actually looked like a smile since he had been captured.
"Ok...I'm ready..."
He nodded. He laid his left hand on the same place as the digivice was held, only his cage keeping him from touching it. It was enough. "Dream" He whispered. The digivice glowed, lightly at first, but growing stronger by the second. The light enveloped first Sonia, then BlackGabumon.
His eyes widened, it was unlike anything he had ever felt before. He felt like he was a leaf floating in the breeze, free and untamed. He was surrounded be darkness, unable to see anything. He felt himself slipping, losing his grip, giving in to the feeling of freedom. Finally. I'm free. He was almost gone when felt himself being drawn to something. Something bright, shining like a beacon of hope in a sea of darkness.
He reached out and grabbed hold of it, desperate to keep something so pure near him. He struggled with the darkness, fighting with all his might. Fighting to escape the emptiness, the nothingness that was this void. That was himself.
He gave one last burst of strength, and ripped himself free. He clutched the light and was pulled to safety. He was engulfed by light. It surrounded him, swaddling him in a warm, soothing embrace. He gave a sigh of relief and knew.
This was his hope his savior. He was finally where he was supposed to be. He knew that he had to protect this light with everything he had. Had to keep it safe from everything that sought to harm it, to befoul it. He must be the guardian to this pureness, no matter how dark he may be, it was his duty.
Thinking these thoughts, promising these things, he blinked his eyes. In that one blink he erased the light. Like he had flicked off a light switch. The light left all in one burst. All but the brightest glow. It dimmed the light dwindling, but was not completely extinguished. As his eyes adjusted he saw the source of the light. Sonia.
She glowed, even when all other light was decimated. Hers remained. He looked at her in awe. Now he knew. Now he could protect her. Now he could keep her pure. He removed his hand from the cage wall. His palm stung a bit.
He glanced at it. Etched into his palm was one thing. 夢. The Japanese symbol for dream. He felt a similar sensation on his other palm. He looked at it. Like his other palm it had Japanese symbols on it. 保護. Protect. He glanced at Sonia. Unsure of her reaction.
The cage door opened, programmed to do so when the its occupant was bonded. BlackGabumon stepped out hesitantly, taking a step towards Sonia. His eyes were liquid, looking to her for some type of acknowledgment.

What she had thought would be painful seemed almost soothing. As Sora mummer something within his cage, claw stretched out towards her hand, a light emerged from the device and seemed to cover them both. Sonia, who was at first frightened by this, soon found herself becoming more and more relaxed inside the light. It felt almost like a hug or the feeling she got every time her adopted parents told her how much they loved her. It was so warm and fulfilling, she almost didn't want it to end.
A smile crept upon her face, causing her to slowly open her eyes to see the Blk.Gabumon standing across from her within the light. She wasn't sure why, but it seemed almost as if the feeling of warmth was coming from him. Was this what it meant to bond with someone? Their own light became part of yours? Sharing each others soul? Whatever it was, Sonia couldn't see herself leaving without it. It was so wonderful.
But slowly, the light around her began to fade and soon she found herself once again within the creepy facility. Though the difference seemed that now the cage had been opened and Sora gaze was now looking directly into her own. Sonia was silent for a moment, but then gently smiled as she extended her hand out towards him.
"Are you ready to go home...Sora?"

"Are you ready to go home...Sora?"Sonia's words combined with her gentle smile was enough to reassure BlackGabumon. He took another step forward. Then another. He placed his own, large, dark hand into her, small, pale one. He smiled tentatively back at her. He felt like he had been reborn, his thought only for his savior. He had imprinted on her in a way, having seen her first after his 'rebirth'. "Home" He echoed. He must have one now. He looked to her for instruction, and she lead him out of the room. He followed her as she took him on his first step towards a new life. As he followed her sunlight from a window shone onto his back, warming it. It felt good. This is what it will feel like. He thought. A bright new future. And it was waiting for him. Him and Sonia. END.
