"Latch?"He froze a little as he heard his name, a voice sifting through the vast amount of agony he was in. Latch didn't really know if he could take this much longer... This pain was melding with what was coming from his ruined arm, and these two pains together was making him feel sick. The ground around his injured arm was already slick with his blood, and if he were paying more attention he might wonder if an artery was severed or if he was going to bleed out and die right here. However he wasn't focused on that, he was only focused on breaking through the haze and regaining himself.
BlackAgumon really couldn't do anything for his partner right now and he knew that, something that made him shrink back a little bit. All he could do was watch Latch gasp in pain, watch as the human's body heaved with frantic and panicked breaths as he struggled to cope with the extreme discomfort that was shooting through him. He almost didn't think he could deal with it... this was... This was getting to be absolutely unbearable. He swore he could feel bile rising in his throat as he was becoming overwhelmed, bending over a little with a rather ragged gasp for breath as his body shuddered weakly along with it.
He swore his vision was starting to fade black around the edges, and he didn't think he could take this much longer. Why... Why was it so hard to break free, to come back to his senses? Latch was fighting this with everything he had, everything in him rebelling against the foreign control in which his mind had been caught in the claws of. He could feel everything was at the verge of starting to shut down and turn off, everything throbbing with the effort and pain that all of this was causing.
However something made everything just suddenly sort of... Stop. Latch blinked and stared forward, his breathing seeming like it was starting to calm down some. He didn't really know what was going on, his senses starting to slowly slink their way back to him as the fog in his eyes dissipated entirely. Someone was touching him, in a way that seemed entirely unfamiliar to him in a way.
The boy looked around a tiny bit in a vaguely confused way, his eyes scanning dully over his surroundings... where was that girl?"Please...Let us help you."He tensed a little bit as he realized now where Mouse was... She was hugging him, something entirely unexpected. Latch couldn't help but wonder why, blinking away the last of the fog and looking around a bit again. Slowly he took his hand from his head and touched it to the girl's arm, as if he had to make absolutely sure she was really there. He didn't know why he felt the need to doubt that she was really there, but all the same it had been something he wanted to confirm.
The moment was interrupted though as he realized just how much his injured arm hurt, clenching his teeth and trying his hardest not to scream. Latch glanced towards his partner, whom he immediately could tell was the one who had done it. His first impulse was to yell at him for it but it was at this point he realized... BlackAgumon looked scuffed up too, to the point where he had to wonder what had just happened. It had probably been out of defense or necessity that the rookie had bit him, but it didn't change the fact that it hurt like every layer of hell.
Latch hadn't noticed but at the sudden amount of pain his hand had gripped onto Mouse's arm, as if he was seeking security or relief from this nightmarish discomfort from her. He was panting lightly because of it as his already aching body was met with the task of dealing with it now that he was fully aware, letting out a muffled cry through his teeth. He felt pathetic for reacting like this but in all honesty he just wanted all of this to stop, he had never hurt so much in his life. He clamped his mouth shut after a moment as he realized if he so much as moved or opened his mouth he'd probably yell, and he couldn't allow that for some reason.
It could be attributed to his pride or not wanting to seem weak, but he was starting to realize that's all this situation had caused him to be; weak. Latch was weak to his anger, weak to his ego, and weak to the dark spore in his neck that craved the violence he had been seeking. He wasn't strong at all right now, and he was really starting to realize that. He thought that maybe he'd be angry about it but instead he felt nothing but bitter disappointment in himself.

SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED!Amongst the circle of the three humans and their digimon partners, a light breaks through the concrete below their feet. Soon a digital code begins to pour through, and a brilliant blue glow engulfs the six with a soothing feeling. The light is warm and welcoming, and washes away any feelings of hostility along with Dracmon's spell. The light makes its way towards Latch, facing him and hovering a mere inch away from him. It's almost as if the artifact has a consciousness of its own, letting Latch know in silence that it belonged to him. The object bursts into little bits of blue data and streams into his digivice. CONGRATULATIONS, LATCH WINTERS. YOU HAVE EARNED THE DIGIMENTAL OF FRIENDSHIP.

"Simon...? If his own partner could barely dredge out a response from him in this haze, than Mouse's voice did next to nothing. Simon had given in. It was as simple as that. If he had been fighting it even a bit he might have stopped and glanced over at her, a look of confusion in his expression at the familiarity of the word. But no...instead his eyes stayed dull and his expression blank. Where ever Simon was, it wasn't here. Dracmon's trance had complete control over him....until...
Simon blinked and tightened his eyes shut as light suddenly rose from the concrete below the others and himself. Only once he was aware of the brightness dissipating from beyond his eyelids did he slowly go to open them once again. There was a sudden calm. Whatever had a hold of him moments ago, had now been released from him, leaving him in the presence of peace. It was soothing, a feeling Simon rarely let himself feel. Grogginess followed however, and then a mild state of confusion, as if Simon found himself awaking from unawareness. As if he'd been asleep. There really was no other way to explain it and in a way...he really had been asleep.
"hn..." Simon made a faint noise as his eyelids lowered some, nearly comfortable and clear-headed enough to fall asleep once again right as he was. He stopped himself however, going and rubbing at an eye as if to free himself from any tiredness.
"...Are...you alright?" Bearmon spoke up as she watched her partner, noticing the blatant confusion that had entered his expression. A light frown came to her own face as Simon's eyes settled on her, a look in his eyes that she couldn't quite read. There was no stubborn resentment or temper flared within them...for the first time since she'd become his partner noticing a hint of something she hadn't seen before. Was that pain? Or guilt? ...Maybe even the faintest look of despair? Bearmon had yet to witness such emotions from her partner, her gaze settling within his as she attempted to subdue that which had cast him into dismay.
The connection was severed as Simon suddenly dropped his gaze, after a moment hesitantly reaching up and pulling the hood of his jacket up over his head. Bearmon immediately took this as a negative sign, as Simon only did this when his mood was unusually foul. Had... she done something wrong? Though she wasn't sure, Bearmon had a feeling Simon's bitterness was not directed toward her. Not in the way it might usually.
"I..." There was the smallest crack in Simon's voice as he trailed off, looking down and taking a small breath. An unbearable amount of shame had hit him all at once, weighing him down and leaving a painful sting in his throat. Though the trance Dracmon had put him into had seemed like a dream now, he knew it was nothing close...and unlike a dream, he had been mostly aware throughout it.
Had he really been so willing to give up? Without so much as a little fight. It tortured him now. Not just because it threw his own weaknesses right into his face, but also because of Bearmon. He had hurt her. Maybe she would forgive him, but he didn't feel like he deserved it. He had given up on her so easily, so why shouldn't she do the same? Simon's throat suddenly constricted with a pained twist at the thought, finding tears had begun to well up in his eyes.
No...
DAMMIT. DAMMIT. "DAMMIT!"
Simon's voice rang out and he felt his temper flare out of pained desperation, kicking the ground beneath him before doing the only thing he knew how to in this situation...run away. Before the thought could fully process in his mind he was already moving, not even sure where he was going as he simply tried to escape this. He wanted to be as far away from the two strangers and their partners as possible. Mostly though, he needed to be away from Bearmon.
...
The rookie merely stood there as her partner took off without her, sinking down a bit and looking to the ground. It stung a little to have him do this, especially after what had happened. There was no grudge held toward Simon for his actions and she would most likely forgive him as soon as she found him again...or at least she might if he would at least make the effort to apologize. Given his current track record with such things however, Bearmon knew the chances of this were slim. With a heavy sigh, she stepped forward, finding herself a tad bit unsteady. She refused to allow this to hinder her however, carefully making her way to retrieve her partner.
Her gaze went to the others as she began to walk pass them, an apologetic look entering her gaze, "I'm...I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. ...We have to go. Please...forgive us." Bearmon spoke softly, not even knowing what she was apologizing for. The words simply came out before she could give it any thought. Her head hung down some afterward before she looked ahead, setting her own feeling aside as she went out after Simon. She knew he wouldn't have gone too far.

M O U S E . All at once everything slowed to a stop. The panic and pain that had been felt by each of the children was suddenly coated in a warm light that came from the ground and presented itself in front of Latch. Mouse stared at the artifact in silent awe as it pulsated and seemed to speak to him without a voice. That light... something about it... Her entire body lost its tension - she was suddenly feeling like she was meant to be here. Her arms around Latch loosened as she was now delicately pressing against his half-clothed back, feeling his touch on her arm. The girl's eyes went wide at this response, her heart suddenly swelling over. The dark spores effects on her were momentarily stilled and everything was at peace. Mouse was entranced by the beauty of the digimental, watching it until the very last moment it disintegrated and streamed into Latch's digivice.
She stood there in stunned silence, glancing down at Latch who was obviously in terrible shape after the fight with BlackAgumon – her own partner not once crossing her mind... and Dracmon could see this.
He stood off to the side, blinded by the light that had just consumed all six of them. The digimon's arms crossed over his face to block the digimental's aura from reaching him, then lowered them to see that it was gone. Dracmon gazed upon Mouse embracing Latch in silence, knowing now that he would be perceived as the enemy. He felt sick with disappointment... and almost as if he had been betrayed by his beloved partner. Something inside the digimon tied itself in knots, finding it increasingly infuriating that seeing both boys bleed hadn't brought Mouse... nor himself... pleasure.
Dracmon stood there, stunned and suddenly swept with shame and uncertainty. There was no chance he would ever apologize to these buffoons and their pet digimon... but Mouse? How could she do this to him? How could she so blatantly forget he was there? A small sound came from Dracmon like he was about to speak but his voice got caught in his throat. Had she forgotten him? Did she... hate him for what he tried to do? Even if it had been downright despicable.. it was for her! Hadn't she realized that?!
He couldn't stand there in that cloud of confusion anymore. No... he wouldn't let his enemies see his face while feeling this. Whatever this was... he... No. Mouse would find him later... and he would find her. Right now... he couldn't stand to be there any more. The digimon dropped his arm to his side and began to glow a soft wide, shrinking into Tsumemon once again... and then crawling off.
Meanwhile Mouse went to the hem of her gown, tearing off quite a bit of it to makeshift a tourniquet for Latch. She hadn't bothered to even try exchanging any words to him yet... instead just silently went to seal the wound with the cloth. Mouse watched the blood seep through the thin fabric, eyes softening at the sight of it. It was almost hypnotizing... but at the same time, at this moment, it made her almost a bit sick to look at. If that wasn't uncharacteristic for her she hadn't known what was. There was also the fact she had let Tsumemon go wherever he was going without saying a word to him.
"DAMMIT!"
...?! Mouse's attention was quickly snagged by the shouting Simon who had spun around and ran off into the opposite direction. To somewhere... anywhere... desperately trying to get away. Mouse rose to her feet quickly, shifting away from Latch as she watched him flee from his digimon partner – wearing a look of guilt. "Wait...!" she called after him, then looked to Bearmon who had apologized to them and went off after the hotheaded boy. No...Mouse wasn't going to let it end like this. She turned to look to Latch, silently sending him a look of apology as she stepped a few paces away from him and turned to run after Simon. Perhaps... it was an invitation for him to follow? The light that had suddenly risen up from the ground surprised him more than anything else had in most likely his entire life, watching it with an exhausted but confused and curious gaze. Latch didn't know what it was or where it had come from but... Somehow the glow made him feel alright somehow, calm. The pain in his body seemed to go down some as the light made its way right to him, his eyes calmly following it. If he had been aware of the almost passive expression on his face he most likely would have wondered why, but for now he just watched as the light deteriorated and took its place within his digivice.
He blinked and looked around a little for whatever reason, watching as Simon seemed to be slowly coming back to reality. The boy's eyes were quick enough to catch the sight of Dracmon dedigivolving back into Tsumemon and slinking off, but he felt no satisfaction or anything like that... He just sort of watched the digimon leave with total indifference, though he was kind of glad that the dark one who had caused all the chaos was no longer there to cause more. His gaze drifted to his arm, sort of closing his eyes and turning his head away as he saw just how hurt it was and how much it was bleeding. He knew that he would need medical attention for this, and he had no idea if he could really actually make it there or home or anything.
BlackAgumon was acutely aware of how weakened his partner was by all of this, and he couldn't help feeling guilty over it. It was his fault after all, but he also knew that at the time he really hadn't known what else to do... It wouldn't have been so bad if Latch hadn't lifted his arm up while he was still biting onto it, but he wasn't about to point that out. The digimon watched quietly as Mouse went and tied the tourniquet on his partner's arm, daring to go closer and inspect the wound himself. The dark reptile gave a small sympathetic wince, though with Latch's eyes shut he knew it wouldn't be seen."DAMMIT!"Latch opened his eyes and lifted his head, watching almost numbly as Simon got up and ran away. He was finding he just really felt tired and wanted to sleep or something, lowering his head a little as if he intended to take a rest right where he was. However as Mouse got up to go after the fleeing boy he felt himself wake up some, watching as she glanced back at him before pursuing the other. He watched her go, honestly doubting his ability to follow after her in his current state... He figured that he would at least try to though, he didn't want to stay out in the middle of a park alone and badly hurt.
He slowly shifted to get up, exhaling shakily as the movement provoked his arm and caused pain to go shooting through the useless limb. BlackAgumon nearly told him to stay down, but with how stubborn he knew his partner to be he didn't even bother. The rookie merely tried to help the boy up, something that for whatever reason surprised Latch... He didn't really know why though. He swayed uncertainly on his feet, taking a few moments to gain enough balance to step forward.
Latch wasn't so sure how long he could last like this though, his arm still dripping some blood even with the fabric tied around it. He glanced down towards the crimson drips and smears, realizing he had probably never bled this much in his entire life. The boy tried not to focus on that though and just walked after Mouse and Simon, the only thing about the way he walked that made it obvious he was weakening being the slight weave to his stride. His digimon stayed by his side though to ensure he didn't fall, and for the first time he found he could trust BlackAgumon to help and keep him standing.

Simon didn't get far.
There wasn't much energy left in the boy's body as he finally came to a stop, absently clutching a handful a fabric at the chest of his jacket as he attempted to catch his breath. His head suddenly felt as if he were spinning, both from the the sudden surfacing of his emotions and the fact that his eyebrow was still bleeding from where Latch had hit him earlier. He wasn't sure which was the cause, but he found his head was throbbing painfully. With a somewhat uncoordinated step to the side, he found himself slumped over against a brick wall, barely noticing he'd come to a stop at the back of one of the school buildings. It was most likely a cafeteria of some sort, as their were two dumpsters sitting not too far from him.
Simon hasn't the slightest clue what he was doing, but he forced himself upright again, walking as best he could over to the dumpsters and going to wedge his small body in the space between them. Maybe it was a little odd, or unsanitary, or whatever...but Simon didn't really care. He wanted to be someplace safe. Someplace small and secluded where they wouldn't find him unless they were really looking. Simon wasn't in his right mind at all, curling up into a ball and ignoring how squished he felt, pulling his knees up to his chest and hugging his legs. He tried his best to hold his emotions in, biting his lip to the point where it nearly started to bleed. However, he could already feel tears running down his cheeks, not even bothering to wipe them away as he went and pulled his beanie down over his eyes.
Meanwhile, Bearmon couldn't help but feel as if she'd done something wrong, like she should have tried harder to pull Simon out of Dracmon's spell. In the end, she wasn't sure who's uncertainty she was feeling. Simon had moved rather fast, nearly causing her to lose track of him. Every few seconds she's have to pause and raise her maw in the air to give it an uncertain sniff, though she was certain she was heading in the correct direction. It crossed her mind to call out for him, though she was almost afraid to, thinking if he heard her approach he would only distance himself from her further.
The rookie came to a stop as she reached the back of one of the building, wondering if she had possibly gone too far. Even so, she continued forward quietly, ears perked in case she were to hear anything. It didn't take too long before she walked past the two dumpsters, blinking and turning her attention to the small space between them as she noticed something there. Or rather someone.
"...Simon?" Bearmon spoke softly as she came to a stop in front of the small space, inspecting it and wondering if she should try to wedge herself back to retrieve her partner. In the end, she wasn't sure if that would be the greatest idea given the size of the space...not to mention Simon seemed in no mood to even acknowledge her. He simply shrugged his shoulders up and hugged his legs a bit tighter at the sound of Bearmon's voice, otherwise remaining unresponsive. The small bear digimon sighed, coming to a sit and looking down. She didn't know what to do, deciding to just wait and let Simon regain himself before attempting anything more.

M O U S E . The moment Mouse spotted Simon wedged between the dumpsters, she felt a sense of nostalgia. It wasn't the good type of nostalgia, either. Too many times has she been in that position before... curled up and held by something that didn't even have the awareness that she existed. Be it a pillow, a closet, a bookcase, a locker. Anywhere she could hide from the world, she felt comfortable. To be outside of something not embracing her she was vulnerable... which was probably the only reason she had gathered the courage to run away from camp when Tsumemon came into her life. Now the only cover she could afford was a few newspapers.
Mouse shifted in front of the boy, kneeling down and going into her bag while standing beside Bearmon. She plucked a chocolate bar from the inside and extended her reach out to the crying boy.
"Take this." she offered the bar to Simon, not indicating what it was at all. The only thing that Mouse seemed fixated on was the boy who was crying beneath his beanie. She gave the bar a few little shakes to prompt him to take it, knowing he'd probably be a stubborn thing–but her methods of healing someone was the absolutely right in her head. She had to be firm with him. "It'll make it better."
The event hadn't changed her much, she still spoke the same...acted the same...thought the same. She was still playful, scary little Mouse. However...maybe this time... maybe now... a different side of her began to shine through. A humane side that actually felt concern for another. This was the first night in a long time she was able to realize that she had been...alone. But she knew that even before her meeting with Latch and Simon.
"He needs to go to the hospital." she spoke softly to Simon, eyes wide with fear for what may happen to Latch if he was left here without any medical help any longer. A thin night gown could only do so much... "Please help me...Simon?" she hesitated saying his name... but for some reason Mouse felt that uttering it would be the little push he needed to realize the gravity of the situation.
They had someone bleeding to death on their hands. [/sub][/sup][/blockquote]

Latch was finding as he walked on his vision was starting to blur some, even gaining the faintest hints of black around the edges. He knew he probably didn't have a lot of time left before he passed out... Or worse. The boy really didn't want to think about that though, he didn't really want to come to believe that he would die from this. He didn't know why, but he found his thoughts starting to wander a little from the current situation to ones of his brother.
He was suddenly wondering how exactly David would deal with him dying, of he would mourn any or just say 'he had it coming' and get on with life. Somehow that second one almost seemed likely, though only because he could maybe see his brother trying to tell himself that so he didn't feel as bad. On the other hand though that seemed with a terrible way to deal with it, one he was starting to see as highly unlikely. Latch was jolted from his thoughts as he stumbled a little, BlackAgumon barely able to keep him standing.
Latch looked around a little bit to see that Mouse was in view, as well as the dumpsters Simon had wedged himself between. He wondered how far he had walked as he came to an unsteady stop, though after a moment he realized he should not have stopped. Almost immediately his knees buckled and he collapsed onto them, managing to keep himself from completely falling with his uninjured arm. However keeping himself sitting up didn't last long though and he slumped to the side, sort of curling up a bit on the cold ground.
It felt oddly nice to him for some reason, feeling almost like he could fall asleep here. His eyes even started to shut before he realized falling asleep now might mean death, since he had lost so much and was still loosing blood. Latch struggled to sit up after a moment but it just wasn't something he could manage, his vision blurring more. He heard BlackAgumon give a faint whimper over his rough breathing, his partner only registering as a black smudge as the rookie came around in front of him.
The reptile digimon went and managed to push Latch back up into a sitting position, then just held him steady and watched. The digimon was alarmed by the not so lively pace of the boy's breathing, but he tried to believe his partner would come out of this alive. Otherwise what else was he to think, that Latch was going to die? BlackAgumon didn't want to start thinking that, he didn't want to lose his partner.

As Mouse walked up toward the two dumpsters Simon has hidden himself between, Bearmon glanced up in surprise. The digimon wasn't sure why she had been however...maybe because it was rare for anyone to go out of their way and help Simon like this. Especially after he'd caused a fight. There was a sense of relief too however, as she was glad to see someone offering such kindness to her partner. Despite however difficult he was, he needed it.
"Take this."
"It'll make it better."
The boy felt his body tense at the sound of Mouse's voice, no matter how calm or unaffected she had seemed by the events that had taken place this day. Was she not mad at him? Not at all? The concept seemed foreign, something that just scared him further and caused him to tighten his grip around his legs. Go away...he just wanted her to go away. He didn't want her to see him crying or wedged here between these two dumpsters. Simon was so disappointed in himself, he hadn't even thought about Latch. He almost refused to hear Mouse's words, that is until...
"Please help me...Simon?"
Something about the sound of his name sent a feeling of calm over him. A bit of guilt nearly came over him as his head began to regain control of his body again...realizing Mouse was right. How could he have run off so selfishly and left the other behind? ...Abandoned them...even his partner. That was definitely what hurt the most, his throat stinging at the thought. He didn't want to dwell on his own feeling anymore however, knowing Mouse needed his help. That's the only thing he could let himself think about right now.
He could wait to dwell on his emotions later. Latch's life on the other hand couldn't wait.
It took him a moment still to regain himself, taking a quick and shaken inhale as he went to lift his head up from his knees. His eyes were still hidden behind his beanie and after a moment he went to wipe a few stray tears from his cheeks, afterward pulling his hat and hood back. "I...c..can...help." Simon nearly stuttered, fighting back the lump in his throat. When he looked up, it wasn't at Mouse...but rather his partner.
Bearmon had to keep from frowning at the helpless look Simon was giving her, sighing quietly as she knew why it was her Simon was looking at; that he felt bad for what he had done. He needed to know that she forgave him before he'd allow himself to do anything."It's okay." Bearmon spoke calmly, the forgiveness in her voice genuine as she held out her paw to help Simon out from his hiding place.
There was hesitation, but after a moment Simon shifted to get out. His hand went out, though instead going for his partner's paw, he reached up to take the object Mouse was handing to him. His attention went toward her completely, unable to accept Bearmon's help just yet. Maybe she had forgiven him for what he'd done...but he hadn't. Not yet.

M O U S E . Mouse smiled gratefully to Simon, glad that she must have been forgiven to some extent for him to have listened to her. She still felt the whole thing to be her fault for not helping them earlier, but she wouldn't let it bother her for now - not when someone's life was at stake. In silent thanks, Mouse took Simon's hand to gently lead him towards Latch and BlackAgumon... but stopped. Bearmon was still there...
Mouse let go of Simon's hand for a moment and knelt down to her level, smiling sadly at her. The more she realized how grave this situation actually was, the more her smile faded. This whole thing... this would thing would have never happened if she weren't there. Or would it have? Latch would have never shouted and Simon wouldn't have been attracted to the shouting - then Dracmon would have never hypnotized them... but maybe, just maybe, they would have eventually fought in the end... and then maybe the violence would have been far worse between the two humans than it actually had been.
Did they learn something from this? She wouldn't know... she wouldn't ask... but she wasn't just about to dismiss the whole thing as a coincidence. She believed... maybe fate wanted them there, and maybe fate was what caused the humbling of both Latch and Simon.
"...You love him, I can tell." she murmured to Bearmon with a little smile, taking Bearmon's paw with both her hands very gently. Mouse's eyes began to glaze over with tears, though she did not allow them to fall. She had been touched by Bearmon's display of undying loyalty – BlackAgumon's too. "I'm so sorry."
And with that, she let go of Bearmon's paw and straightened herself. Mouse moved over to take Latch's other arm to use herself as a crutch for now, glancing around looking very worried.
She knew very well how expensive calling for an ambulance would get, and she also knew that the three of them probably didn't have that kind of money. The thought of how much money you needed to survive anywhere... it sickened her. The more she thought about it the sicker she felt herself becoming. "How did you two get here?" she asked softly, looking back and forth. "Do you have a car...? A ride...? Someone that can take us there?" [/sub][/sup][/blockquote]

He was completely unaware of anything that went on between Mouse and Simon, just staring at the ground with nearly dull eyes. His thoughts had wandered pretty far off from the current situation, something BlackAgumon could tell just from the look of vacancy on Latch's face. It scared him so he gave the boy a small shake, then another as his partner continued to stay zoned out. Eventually the human blinked and seemed 'there' again, though he looked like he was exhausted and wouldn't last too much longer.
The rookie looked to Latch's injured arm, regret burning through him like fire through a dry field of grass. He wished he had been able to think of a better way to handle the situation at the time, instead of having all the realizations come to him now. BlackAgumon breathed out a small ember of frustration off to the side, watching as it hit the ground and created a black smudge on the pavement. He could still taste the boy's blood in his mouth... It bothered him greatly.
BlackAgumon blinked and came out of his thoughts as Mouse came over, watching as she helped Latch up. The boy's legs seemed weak and unwilling to cooperate with the situation, shaking as he tried to stay on them. Latch let out a faint and tired sigh, trying not to rest on Mouse too much; he didn't want to end up knocking her over. It was very hard for him not to lean on her to much though, and if anything it was just making his energy drain faster."How did you two get here? Do you have a car...? A ride...? Someone that can take us there?"The fingers on his useless arm twitched and he mumbled something to BlackAgumon, though the words came out slurred and nearly nonsensical. The rookie seemed to understand somehow though, nodding a little and going to try and get something from Latch's pocket. After a few moments of struggling with his claws he retrieved a beat up cell phone from the boy's pocket, holding it carefully in his paws so he wouldn't drop it. "Latch's brother David could." He said, looking up towards Mouse and sort of holding the phone up to her as well.

At Mouse's words, Bearmon nearly felt an ache inside her chest, though she wasn't sure why. After all, such a statement was something to be proud of, was it not? Something that should make her smile and nod her head in agreement. ...Yet all she found the will to do was lower her head with a silent exhale. It was not at all that she didn't love Simon. No, she loved him very much... so she couldn't understand why this caused her pain to hear this. Maybe it was just because...
Simon didn't really seem to love her back.
There was no dwelling on this for her, however, as she simply pushed aside the small sting in her heart and followed after her partner as they went to help Latch. Simon was hesitant to do this, despite the knowledge that the other really needed it. It was just so foreign to him, it took a moment for him to warm up to the idea alone.
"How did you two get here? Do you have a car...? A ride...? Someone that can take us there?"
Simon shook his head at the question, already knowing it would be a horrible idea to call the only people who knew...which were his parents. The last thing he needed was for them to put this on his shoulders as well... they wouldn't let him forget about it. And that's all he wanted. The sooner this all ended the better as far as he was concerned. He didn't want to think about it ever again.
There was a bit of relief in the boy as BlackAgumon spoke, glad this could be taken care of without him. Almost a little wobbly from his emotions moments ago, he stepped back with a little sway, absently wiping at his cheek despite that there were no longer tears there.
"I...don't really know anyone..."
Simon trailed off before he could ask what he really wanted to...ask if he could go home now since he was no longer needed. He couldn't get the words out however, instead just looking down and unconsciously shifting toward his partner. Bearmon would know very much what he wanted...and it bothered him that she would not speak up for him.

M O U S E . The girl started in surprise to see BlackAgumon offer her the phone, blinking a few times as she took it from him gingerly. After spending a few moments searching for the name 'David' she promptly dialed the number and held it to her ear.
...ring ring...
...ring ring...
"What the fuck did you do this time?"
The answer was.... surprising, to say the least. Mouse tried her best not to burst into tears then and there for being cursed at after the string of events that had just happened.
"U-um.."
She took a few moments to compose herself before choking out the question she needed to ask, "Ah...is this...D-David? ...Um ... Latch's brother?"
. . .
"...Your brother...um... he got into a little... accident." "He's okay... but he needs to get to a hospital. He's bleeding pretty badly...We're at the elementary school...by the dumpsters."
. . .
"I...I think so..." Mouse muttered and turned to the injured boy, cuffing her hand over the receiver as she held it to his ear and mumbled to him, letting him take the phone. "he wants to talk to you.."
Mouse knew that this would mean that David would be coming to pick Latch up... she felt her heart throbbing quickly in her chest as she soon realized she was the only one left. She was the reason this whole thing had happened... and Tsumemon was no where to be found. There was a brief pulse in the back of her neck that caused her to take a few cautious steps backwards. Why...why was she so afraid so suddenly?
The girl shifted her weight on her feet to turn towards Simon, shooting him an apologetic look. Her throat tightened as she glanced out at the open space behind them all that led to the streets of Odaiba and promised that she would get away without a scratch. ...She didn't want to be here anymore, with two boys that possibly disliked her for what happened.
There was a pause. She had considered running off but instead she simply turned her back and calmly started to walk away from the two with her head dipped low. Mouse knew that she was no longer needed or wanted here... but she couldn't help but look over her shoulder at the two boys and their digimon in hopes that she'd see them again someday.
She wanted to apologize, she wanted to say she wanted to see them again someday... but no words came out. All she could manage was a small little smile as she retreated from the two violent boys. Her fear got the better of her this time... but she still had admired them for fighting the best they could.
Simon could take care of Latch for now... she was sure he would. [/sub][/sup][/blockquote]

The call had been rather brief but at the very least in ensured Latch had a chance at surviving. He had no doubt his brother would be here rather quickly, given the fact that David had been told exactly what was going on and how dire the situation was. The boy was faintly afraid that he might not last the 15 minutes or so that it would probably take for his brother to get here, but since his thoughts couldn't stay all that concentrated at the moment he couldn't exactly worry about it.
However that was just fine, since BlackAgumon was fully conscious and could worry enough for the both of them... Hell he could probably worry enough for five people at the moment. This was all just very disorienting in a way to see; his partner was always strong no matter how hurt he got, no matter what had been fractured or pulled or broken. Then there was this moment... Right now in which the rookie could only watch as the life and strength drained from his partner in the form of warm red blood, having to look away as his eyes inadvertently landed on the various stains it had left on the pavement. He didn't believe that Latch would die no, he was certain that something in him would know somehow, but even so this was all very frightening to him.
This almost got worse as Mouse backed away from Latch, and even started to walk away.
The boy had dully realized that one source of support had left him, and all he was left with was Simon... The boy he'd intended to beat into a bloody pulp a mere hour or so ago. Actually Latch wasn't entirely sure how long it had been or what time it was or... Really anything, his ability to perceive most things greatly impaired at the moment. Still though he could feel it; a dull ache in his chest had started up as Mouse started to walk away, though he wasn't entirely conscious enough to realize the two things were related. Had he known and if he were more aware at the moment he might have called out to her, asked her not to leave until he'd be okay for sure... But these words never even began to form and he just stayed silent, unable to even properly formulate a sentence for the time being.
BlackAgumon watched the girl go with a kind of sad look on his face, stepping closer to Latch and trying to help keep him up so Simon wouldn't be doing all the work. He sort of intended to watch Mouse until she was out of sight, as if was hoping that maybe she would turn back. The rookie was afraid that since she was leaving that Simon might leave too, and then he'd be left alone with his partner until David arrived; the only reason this was a bad thing was that he didn't know what to do in the meantime if things got worse. At least with either Mouse or the other boy here there was more of a chance of Latch getting a little more assistance if it was needed.
He could handle protecting Latch from almost anything, except blood loss.

The boy's attention shifted to Mouse as she stepped away from Latch and him, immediately wishing he had just went along with his impulse to walk away first. Now he was going to have to be the one to stand around with this guy while he waited for the other's brother that was supposedly coming to get him. Simon guessed he probably could just walk off if he wanted, though it was already selfish enough that he was thinking it... the boy didn't actually think he could bring himself to do it. If not for his own reasons for feeling selfish than... well Latch was bleeding badly. The last thing Simon wanted to do was wonder if he had left someone on their own to die. Oh no, that was one thing he definitely didn't want on his shoulders.
As Mouse left, Simon simply watched, his partner's ears lowering in response to the girl's actions. Bearmon felt sorry for her, though she wasn't entirely sure why... maybe just because she didn't want the other to feel like she wasn't needed any longer. As a matter of fact, the bear digimon felt a little uneasy with the girl's presence leaving them, knowing Simon didn't like this situation already. She was afraid of how he might react to this, looking up at him in concern before her attention went to Latch and BlackAgumon.
"Don't worry, we're not going anywhere until help arrives..." Bearmon spoke softly, partly to reassure them and partly because she was unsure of the response her partner would make to this. The boy definitely didn't seem happy about this decision, more so at the fact that it was made for him than the decision alone... though he was almost relieved. He didn't like having to decide such things for himself... and it was nice to have someone else tell him what to do, even if it frustrated him at the same time. It was a complicated system, but Bearmon was slowly learning to navigate her partner's maze of a thought process.
It pissed Simon off how awkward he felt standing there in silence, helping to support Latch and nearly feeling like he could break into tears again with the frustration and unease he felt at the moment. He definitely wasn't going to resort to such a thing however, just exhaling in obvious annoyance before he thought he spotted a car driving up toward the school. He watched as it headed in their direction, suddenly feeling his awkwardness build.
...He didn't want to be here when they got out of the car, Simon looking at his partner as if silently begging her if they could leave now. The rookie had to frown at the look, not wanting to stress her partner out any more than he already was. She was nearly positive that car heading around the school was the one meant to pick up the injured boy and bring him to the hospital anyway. Reluctantly, Bearmon sighed, looking to the other two and giving them a respectful nod... though she had to wonder if Latch was even conscious enough to acknowledge it. "I think we will be on our way now... I'm...I'm truly sorry for the trouble we caused. Your partner is strong, I know he'll recover well." She attempted a smile as her attention went to BlackAgumon specifically, resisting the urge to look up at Simon as she caught him looking at her from the corner of her gaze -- she already knew the look he would be giving her.
Simon didn't say anything, he almost couldn't, practically biting his tongue to keep from saying something he'd end up regretting later. He didn't want anything else to feel guilty for today; he just wanted to go home and be done with it. Once Bearmon was finished speaking Simon shifted to carefully steady Latch before letting go of him, not wanting the other to practically fall to the ground once he moved away. Simon doubted Latch could stay this way long, but he already found himself turning and walking away before it was his problem. Muttering something cross under his breath he glanced back at Bearmon who seemed reluctant to leave the others and follow, though by now the car they had seen earlier was nearly at its destination. Before Simon could shout at her for it, she turned to follow after him, head down as they quickly vanished from the scene.
-exit-
Simon said absolutely nothing as he headed home, his own head down as his mind refused to let him forget the earlier events... stopping at some point to glance back at his partner. The digimon had dedigivolved back to Wanyamon now that they were no longer in any immediate danger... the boy simply resting his gaze upon the in-training before he frowned and went to scoop her up off the ground. Wanyamon was honestly a little surprised by this, since she was usually left to follow after him - actually she was always left to follow after him. ...But it felt nice to be here... and despite anything Simon had done to her earlier, she actually smiled as a little warm feeling began to churned inside her. "Thank you," she spoke quietly, half afraid Simon might drop her again and relieved when he did not.
"hm..."
It was more or less the response Wanyamon had expected, Simon refusing to even look at her as his eyes stayed fixated ahead almost stubbornly. That didn't bother her too much however, only allowing herself to acknowledge what he was doing instead of what he wasn't. It really did feel nice to be in her partner's arms, simply settling down as he walked them home.
