Koromon was really starting to wish he actually could take Dracmon on, knowing that the rookie's words would have quite the ill effect on his partner. He was so focused on what was going on he barely reacted to being put on the ground, only barely glancing at Mouse. The digimon could see in that short moment however that she seemed scared, wondering if it had anything to do with the laughing fit she had. However his thoughts quickly went back to Latch, watching his partner glare at Dracmon with more anger than he'd seen for a while.
Latch was actually pretty angry... Despite his violent tendencies and extreme temper, under all of this he was actually fairly intelligent. This just made being called a neanderthal or a caveman worse somehow though, his hands curling so tightly into fists for a moment that it actually hurt. And to be called these things by something that was only about three feet tall just added to the sting, rendering him silent at first. He had to calm down at least a little, otherwise this situation would not go at all as he wanted it to.
"We aren't afraid, this is just something between humans. Now I suggest you back off." He stated in an even voice, still glaring down at Dracmon. Latch heard Koromon give a very faint whine of disapproval, the small digimon already knowing that this would not make the situation any better. However his partner really didn't care, just wanting Dracmon to back off so he could fight Simon... Then again, he wasn't patient enough to wait that long. It came as no surprise to Koromon as Latch suddenly rushed at Simon, just watching to see what exactly would happen because of this.
He didn't know if Latch's raised fist would land in the younger boy's face or if Dracmon would do something before that. Either way Koromon had already decided to stay put, for once wanting nothing to do with the fight. He wasn't even entirely sure if he'd help Latch if he was threatened... No, deep down within him he knew he would. Despite the way his partner treated him, they were still partners.

"Could it be that the Cavemen are realizing they haven't a chance against a digimon? Better listen to your kitty cat, boy~ before I orphan the poor thing. Run along, now!"
This had Simon scowling. For once he wasn't just annoyed, but actually angry with the digimon's words. Somewhere in Simon's mind he knew the smartest thing to do was to get out of the situation. He barely had a chance against Latch...but Dracmon too? No, there was no way this was going to end well. He faintly wondered if Dracmon was right...that in some way him and Latch really weren't any different than cavemen or animals. Here he was, fully aware that this was the most pointless endeavor he had tried to accomplish in a while. One that he knew had no way of ending in his favor. And rather than take the best option and turn from it...he stayed where he was almost stubbornly. What was he even trying to prove? In the end, nothing really.
Latch just pissed him off.
A response to Dracmon never came as Latch suddenly rushed toward him. Simon almost didn't move for a moment for whatever reason, for a split second all his frustration and stubbornness dissolving and he actually found that he was scared. Though...only for a moment. All those feeling quickly resurfaced and he moved forward to meet Latch's attack.
...
Of course... Simon really had no clue how to go about a fight that wasn't verbal. If anything, all he had just done was walk right up to Latch's fist and invite it to knock him clean off his feet and too the ground. He felt incredibly dazed as he forced himself to sit up, quietly cursing out loud...both at the pain as well as the fact that he hadn't reacted to the attack differently. Getting off the floor was definitely something he knew he needed to do however, as there was no way of winning a fight from down here. With that thought, he attempted to get to his feet before Latch could get another attack in, noticing a small trickle of blood coming from his eyebrow, though he simply brushed it away.
Wanyamon had just stood where she had been before Simon darted forward, her blue fur puffed up as her partner was so quickly brought to the floor. Without so much as a second though, she hopped forward and forced herself between Latch and Simon, giving the other human a low growl. She didn't care about size differences or the fact that Latch could and most likely would easily toss her aside. But what kind of partner would she be is she just stood back and did nothing?
"You're not touching him again!" Her voice was not raised, yet it had an almost demanding hint to it. She didn't know how she would manage it, but she promised herself she would keep Simon from being hurt again. Whether from Latch or Dracmon...she was going to do it. She had to.

Something between them humans, puh. Dracmon would have believed it if he hadn't witnessed his poor partner nearly be struck by this brute. He had to remember to thank little Koromon for protecting her for him, otherwise he may have dislodged the boy's eyeballs before he could lay a hand on Mouse.
Speaking of Mouse, she had been sitting there in fear with her hands clenched into fist while fixated on the sad pink digimon. She had virtually everything tuned out at the moment and went to gently lay a hand on the creature's head. "I-I'm..." she began, speaking to Latch's partner in a soft and broken voice. Hesitant and afraid. "I'm...s-sorry..." she whimpered to Koromon, knowing that she had scared him when she was struck by her outburst.
Dracmon was about ready to snap back at Latch before he started towards Simon, eyes in his palms widening and going to step between the two. However, he found his entire body suddenly paralyzed with an unnamed feeling. With his feet firmly cemented to the ground, the most he could do is turn his head to face Mouse, who had been staring at the scene in horror. Her hands quickly went up into her hair and it was obvious that this anxiety was coming from another source... not a fight that two strangers had gotten into.
The demon bristled and shouted to her in disapproval - though gently, "Mouse, love, now isn't the best time to have a moral debate with yourself–!" There was a sense of urgency in his voice as if all his actions depended on her. Dracmon would have taken the responsibility to get between the two but because Mouse couldn't seem to decide what to do it left him stuck. It wasn't until Wanyamon leapt between Latch and Simon that whatever Mouse needed snapped awake within her.
If Latch was willing to strike his own digimon then she didn't see any reason why he wouldn't beat down a stranger's.
Moving away from Koromon for a moment, Mouse rushed to her feet and darted between Wanyamon and Latch. She stood there a moment, stiff and unyielding with her eyes narrowed at the older boy. Dracmon's hand extended in her direction to try and stop her and even had begun uttering her name but quickly let it fall to his side, knowing that there was no reasoning with her when she got like this. Instead, Dracmon got on all fours and crawled behind Latch, slowly pacing up to him and readying himself to climb up his back and go for his eyes if he were to attack Mouse.
Mouse leveled with Latch, panting lightly after her swift movements and giving a brisk shake of her head. "That's..." she choked out, madness and distress welling in her eyes, "That's enough."
So meek, so unsure. There was something about making someone out to be a monster that tore her up. She knew the feeling, and it wasn't a pleasant one to be on the receiving end of... but she wasn't like Latch. Even though she had a dark spore embedded into her neck much like he did, she didn't wean its urges with violence. Not... actual violence anyway.

Koromon was still confused by Mouse's behavior towards him, as it was still incredibly foreign to him. He also wasn't entirely sure why she was apologizing to him, though he knew she knew she had startled him. He didn't see why she would apologize, Latch had never apologized for anything in the short time they had known each other. His attention was stolen by the fight that was brewing though, and he looked over just in time to see his partner punch the younger boy in the face.
As his fist actually connected with Simon's head a faint sense of calm went through him... But only for a moment. The roaring anger was back quickly enough, and Latch felt the need to hit the other boy again. He was deaf to everyone else and all that existed to him was the fight that was starting, not hearing Dracmon's words to Mouse or hers to Koromon. All that existed at this point in time was this violence he wanted to inflict on Simon, nothing else."You're not touching him again!"The only reason why he heard Wanyamon and came out of his little trance was most likely only due to the fact that she was now between him and Simon, his gaze traveling down to the little in-training. Latch seemed almost confused for a moment, as if he didn't understand why the digimon had gotten in the way. He knew why though, it was because the little thing believed she had a shot at protecting Simon from him... It nearly made him laugh. He hadn't even moved to strike her away though when Mouse got in the way, his eyes widening a little as if he hadn't expected it."That's... That's enough."Latch glared at her as she spoke, clearly angry that she was trying to stop this fight. "I suggest you move." He stated coldly, the words making it rather clear that he would not hesitate to strike her. Koromon could hear this in his partner's voice and he gave a very faint whimper... He wasn't sure if it was because he didn't want Mouse hurt or because he knew Dracmon would hurt his partner for it. Either way, he couldn't get himself to move for some reason, hoping that he would be able to the moment it was necessary.

Bewilderment was most likely the best way to describe Simon's initial reaction to seeing Wanyamon speak so firmly to Latch. Though the two had been partners for a while now, this was the first time Simon had heard Wanyamon's voice hold such a strong and demanding tone. He wondered if it was really confusion he was feeling or if he was more just taken aback, his gaze resting on his partner and for once his expression seemed to reveal something other than annoyance. Was it...thoughtfulness? Or maybe even a quick glance of appreciation?
Whatever it was, it vanished from him before he could think about it, knowing now was most likely not the time to dwell on any particular thought too long. Instead, Simon worked on getting to his feet, trying to ignore the small jolt of pain that shot through his skull as he did. His head was throbbing relentlessly and he could feel another trickle of blood drip down from his eyebrow. He felt as if he were in a haze for a moment, trying to ignore the buzzing in his head as he finally found his balance.
"That's... That's enough."
Simon blinked as yet another person put themselves between Latch and himself, staring at Mouse with a mixed expression. Again, he felt a moment of confusion...only for it to quickly dissolve as the buzzing in his head seemed to diffuse. Why were they doing this? Did they think he couldn't fight back? He didn't stop to think there was any other reasoning behind this, snorting indignantly and stepping forward.
"Get out of the way!" Simon demanded as he stepped over Wanyamon, reaching out and grabbing Mouse by the shoulder. His actions weren't violent so much as firm, in one quick motion pushing the girl aside as he shoved his fist forward and aimed it toward Latch's face. He put about as much power into it as he could conjure up, which was likely a bit more than one might expect. He may be small, but he definitely wasn't weak. If there was one thing he hated, it was being underestimated.
Wanyamon watched as the attempts to stop this failed, ears lying back as she desperately tried seek some sort of end to this. Her eyes went to Dracmon a moment, though something about the dark digimon unsettled her, letting her attention instead go to Koromon. That was the boy's digimon after all, wasn't it? She felt a bit of frustration rise in herself as she watched the in-training simply sitting there, for once the feeling her own and not her partner's. With her fur standing on end, she hopped a foot or so closer to the digimon, tail twitching behind her.
"Are you just going to sit there and do nothing?" Despite Wanyamon's moment of frustration, she felt the fiery emotion leave her as she spoke...her voice instead coming out as a distressed squeak.

Mouse kept her gaze focused on Latch's eyes, glaring with a conviction that could have been surprising for a girl of her size and disposition. Moments ago she was cowering in the side lines, letting the two go at each other without a thought or care. But once the digimon became involved, she couldn't allow anything else to happen. The look in her eyes... it was defiance. The refusal to show that she was going to back down and submit to him again... even though she would have in a different situation. But this wasn't just herself in danger anymore, and she wouldn't be responsible for getting anyone else hurt. Her lips parted slowly, trying to find the words that she knew would be enough to keep her feet firmly planted into place. The words that would attempt to throw Latch's rage.
"I'm. Not. Afraid of you."
The moment these words left her mouth, something struck through her. A feeling that she couldn't find a word to describe it as. For just a second, she could have sworn the face of this boy flashed through her mind as a familiar. A friend, an enemy? Something else? The haze that hid his face was like a dream...It was as if...
Did she know him?
It only lasted an instant, but she soon recognized this pang of familiarity not to be because she had met Latch once before but because she saw herself inside of him. Something about him... The darkness that shrouded her own soul. "Y...you're..."
Mouse choked on her words, keeping her eyes on his as she searched something for him. It was there, the dark veil pulled over his eyes. She didn't know what was causing her violent tendencies, nor did she assign the reason to an object that she and Latch were sharing. There was no dark spore in her mind... she was flawed because it was HER fault and nothing else's. That look, the pure rage that filtered through his eyes was all that she needed to prove that what she saw was there. "...You're just like me."
...Just like him?
Dracmon observed this scene with a look of disgust and his hand suddenly clenching with such force that his own claws sunk deep into his palm. Just like him, eh? Why did that sound familiar? OH, it was because that was what Dracmon said the moment he met her! SHE was just like HIM, not a mindless monkey that went around throwing his fists during a temper tantrum! NO! She was something exquisite...fragile... and to hear her compare herself to THAT APE...
Nothing could describe the bond between Dracmon and Mouse. Both were bastards, unwanted and warped by fate. He was hers and she was his. But she took him in, and he to her. They were all each other had.. and she was RISKING herself to save the well-being of some boy she didn't know!? COMPARING HERSELF TO THE OTHER?!
WHAT WAS SO SPECIAL ABOUT HIM?! And then it happened, the demon standing by to watch helplessly as she was shoved out of the way while selflessly risking herself for some idiot boy. To watch another's hand lay on Mouse felt equivalent to a searing blade striking what ever that was in his chest... a heart? Dracmon had no time to think about it, he couldn't. The soft yelp from her once Simon moved her out of the way was all it took for Dracmon to snap.
MOUSE.
MOUSE!
MY MOUSE!
HE TOUCHED HER!
"DON'T YOU TOUCH HER!!"
The sheer volume of his voice shocked Mouse into silence, staring up at her partner who was now rushing up Latch's back, unafraid of sinking his claws in on the way up. In one swift movement, Dracmon threw his hand over Latch's face to grip it entirely with his claw while the other pointing in the charging Simon's direction. While announcing the attack, the eyes in his hands had tried lock with the boy's. The dark of the irises suddenly slit into something monstrous, and both eyes ignited with a glowing fury as they sent out a hypnotizing wave to both Latch and Simon's eyes. If it would land against their faces, then he had quite a few fun ideas in mind what to do with two hypnotized buffoons...
"EYE OF NIGHTMARE!"

"I'm. Not. Afraid of you."Latch snorted at this statement, almost as if he found it ridiculous or something like that... But after a moment he had to realize it was true, or else she wouldn't be standing in front of him like this. It was at this point he realized he felt sort of calm somehow, like he was faced with someone that he knew once or something similar. This feeling really didn't last very long at all though, and the anger soon flooded back through his body and almost overwhelmed him with how sudden the shift from calm to enraged was. He did his best not to seem the least bit shaken by this though, and the only sort of reaction he gave was a very faintly unsettled exhale as he collected himself again."Y...you're... You're just like me."...What?
What the hell did she even mean by that, that he was like her... He didn't understand, he didn't see at all how they were similar. Confusion filtered into his eyes and mixed with the anger that lived there, as he seemed to search her eyes for the answer that would quell his bewilderment. Latch almost took a step back from her as he didn't know how to deal with any of this for whatever reason, for a moment forgetting about the fact he wanted to fight with Simon and forgetting about the digimon that had been brave enough to move between them... He was just shutting everything out for a few moments, aside from Mouse. Was there maybe a chance, even if it was just a slight one... That she understood him?"Get out of the way!"Latch was forced to snap back to reality by Simon's voice, shutting his eyes tightly as the other boy's fist collided painfully with his nose. His first thought was that it was broken maybe, judging by how much it hurt and the fact he was sort of having trouble breathing through it. He would have to go to the hospital for it, and David would be so angry about this... Just like his brother always was about things like this. He didn't know why exactly his brother was entering his thoughts now like this, he never thought about him when he was out fighting, never."Are you just going to sit there and do nothing?"Koromon had actually moved forward a little by the time Wanyamon's cry had reached him, immediately worrying about his partner and wondering if he was alright. He knew his partner was strong enough not to be brought down by just one punch to the face, but even so he knew Latch had no control over whether or not something broke. The in-training digimon moved a little closer, but he paused as he glanced to Dracmon, remembering the rookie was still classified as a possible threat towards him. Even so, he wasn't entirely prepared for the events that were to follow."DON'T YOU TOUCH HER!!"Despite the fact that Latch had a pretty high pain tolerance, the sudden pain that Dracmon's claws caused as they dug into his skin made him gasp a little. He couldn't do much of anything as the rookie's hand suddenly attached itself to his face, unwillingly focusing on the eye... For a moment, for just a moment he felt afraid of what was going to happen. "Koro...mon..." He murmured, his voice muffled a little as he tried to call out to the only sentient being there that really seemed to care despite everything... Despite what a terrible human being he knew himself to be. He was rendered silent at the dark digimon's attack, but his voice had not gone unheard.
[ KOROMON DIGIVOLVE TO . . . _ ]
[ BLACKAGUMON! _]
"SPITFIRE!"
It took a moment for Koromon to even realize he had digivolved, the pink blob now having become a bipedal and dark colored reptile. BlackAgumon's attack had been aimed right at Dracmon, and he had to hope that the fireball would hit. He had to save Latch, even if they did fight all the time, even if his partner had hurt him before... They were still partners in the end, and that was what mattered. He honestly would not tolerate what Dracmon was doing either, not to Latch and not to Simon.
A good fight was one where the opponents were evenly matched, and a digimon against humans was just unfair.

A ripple of satisfaction went through Simon as his knuckles collided with Latch's face, a somewhat similar feeling to the one he often got when he won an argument. There wasn't as much enjoyment in this kind of fighting though, not for Simon anyway. It was brutish and relied on physical power rather than wit...for which he was not much of a competitor. Though, in the end, each form of fighting was equally uncivilized and juvenile, something Simon either didn't seem to mind or was still too immature to realize himself.
"DON'T YOU TOUCH HER!!"
Simon literally froze at the volume of Dracmon voice, seeming almost confused despite having known where it'd come from. He wasn't sure why, but he hated yelling...or at least yelling like this anyway. It wasn't made as a childish retort or to emphasize a point in an argument...it was a demand. One that had most likely only stunned Simon as much as it had because he knew he shouldn't have touched Mouse. She hadn't done anything and wasn't part of this fight as far as Simon was concerned...he had no right to shove her aside. He really hadn't been thinking. ...Of course, even if he had been given the chance to apologize, he most likely wouldn't. Simon never apologized to anyone.
Not that an apology would've worked in this situation. Before Simon could even collect his thoughts he found Dracmon's palm practically shoved into his face, for once stepping back in alarm. As the eye there locked with his, he felt a violent chill crack through his nerve...his body suddenly locked in place with fear.
What the hell had he done?!
For once in his life, Simon felt the urge to turn and run...something he might have actually done despite however weak or scared it would make him look. He couldn't bring himself to move though, something that made him feel even more pathetic than his thoughts of fleeing. All he could bring himself to do was take a step back, a sort of deer in the headlights look on his face as Dracmon called out his attack. His pupils widened and then constricted at this before he simply clamped his eyes shut...or at least tried to anyway...finding his gaze almost glued to Dracemon's eye-
[ WANYAMON DIGIVOLVE TO . . . _ ]
[ BEARMON! _]
Bearmon didn't seem the least bit phased by her digivolution, mind entirely occupied with getting Simon out of this situation unharmed and nothing else. She acted upon her first reaction to stop Dracmon from hypnotizing her partner, not seeming to care or even think that she might somehow get in the way of BlackAgumon's attack as she leaped forward-
"BEAR CLAW!"
With that, Bearmon attempted to rake her claws across the arm Dracmon had stretched out toward Simon, summoning up most of her power to do so. Two attacks from two different digimon were enough to fend him off...right? She had to hope so; and although she in no way counted him as an ally, at the moment she considered BlackAgumon on her side simply because they both had a similar enemy. In which case it was two against one. Bearmon hoped Dracmon would back down at that...simply because she didn't have any interest in continuing this fight.
However, that didn't mean she would back down if it came to that.

Silent horror swept over Mouse as her body began to lock up with fear, watching as her partner attacked two humans. She knew that they hadn't a chance against a digimon's attack because of their otherworldly powers, she couldn't imagine Latch or Simon getting out of this unharmed. The girl's eyes widened once she noticed the two boys falling to a trance, then a burst of flame and the claw of another digimon aiming for Dracmon. When she tried to call out to him, however, her voice was in knots and no sound came out.
With a loud cry, the onslaught on Dracmon landed. First the flame from BlackAgumon's attack engulfed him and caused him to release Latch's head, losing his grip and dropping from him. Then Bearmon's claw swiped him to the side, causing his smaller body to spin a few times in mid-air and taking as much energy as he could manage to land on his feet. After landing the digimon fell to his knees, panting lightly. The eyes in his palms focused on the two rookie digimon – seeming to forget that Mouse even existed for the time being. "Hehehe...that's n-no fair. Two against one?"
All it took was Dracmon to lift his wounded arm, pointing at the two digimon – releasing a dark chuckle. "Boys..." the digimon growled softly under his breath, calling upon both the hypnotized Latch and Simon. It took him a moment or two to find the strength he needed to utter the command that would carry out his plan... one with most delicious irony. "Teach your pets some discipline."
Latch and Simon would be under HIS control now – at least until the digimon were able to get through to them both. But Dracmon's arrogance told him that the two violence-oriented idiots wouldn't have a chance of being broken from their trance. Mouse couldn't find the will or the courage to speak up against the orders of her digimon, and barely managed a whimper when her hands went up over her eyes.
"N-no...please..d-don't.."

BlackAgumon felt a sense of triumph and strength go through him as his attack hit Dracmon, glad that the attack had succeeded in making the rookie let go of his partner's head. He watched Bearmon's attack, glancing at her a moment... She'd make a worthy opponent. Now was not the time to think like that now, his green eyes going to Latch's face and expecting him to be normal now. However this was not what he saw, frowning at the totally blank and vacant look his partner's eyes held... It was eerie to see his eyes like that, to seem them lacking the fire of rage that always burned in them.
The reptile digimon went forward, pawing at Latch's leg a little and hoping for some sort of response. He didn't care if it was a glare or a kick or what, he just wanted his partner back to normal. He received no response whatsoever though, making BlackAgumon whimper... Then he turned his attention with a growl to Dracmon, exhaling a few stray embers in an angry huff. He was about to demand what exactly the other digimon had done when the dark rookie spoke, feeling a tinge of fear from the other's words."Boys... Teach your pets some discipline."Latch didn't really know what made him do it, but at Dracmon's command his body seemed to move on its own accord, immediately turning towards BlackAgumon. His face was completely expressionless as the rookie backed away from him, not letting his partner get too far as he immediately went and kicked the digimon... Rather hard. BlackAgumon gave a wheezing gasp as the air was knocked from him and he skidded along the ground some, not moving for a few moments. He looked up almost pleadingly at his blank-eyed partner, about to try and talk to snap him out of it when he found himself kicked again.
Another skid along the ground and he could feel his entire body aching from it. This time however he got up immediately, launching himself at Latch and rather firmly biting onto his arm. His partner didn't react to the pain at all, merely trying to pry his own partner off his arm as blood slowly started to seep out of the new holes in his skin. This didn't seem to matter to him at all, the only thing seeming to exist to him being the objective of getting the teeth out of his arm.

If Simon hadn't been completely overtake by Dracmmon's attack, he most likely would have stared at Bearmon in a sort of stunned silence. That definitely wasn't Wanyamon, not the partner he remembered...and not simply because the change of appearance. Even the look she had been giving Mouse's partner seemed uncharacteristically threatening. But then again...nothing had ever attacked him before. Not like this anyway. Not another digimon.
There was no look of surprise on his face though, an almost haunting look of emptiness occupying his expression and thoughts as he stood there in a state of hypnosis. Bearmon looked at her partner in unease, frowning a bit and seeming to forget Dracmon a moment and she stepped over to him, tugging at his purple sleeve. "Simon? ...Simon, are you alright?" A feeling of despair set in as her partner didn't even acknowledge her words or actions, frowning and tugging on his sleeve once more before Dracmon's words made her pause-
"Teach your pets some discipline."
Simon moved before Bearmon could even glance at him, striking his partner with the heel of his foot as he went and kicked her across the ground much in the same way Latch had attacked his own partner. She struggled to her feet afterward, mostly stunned from the shock of being hit than the actual hit itself. No matter how many time Simon had tried to fight with her since she had become his partner, he had never physically hurt her like this...most of it was just arguments. Of course, she knew it wasn't entirely his own intentions, that Dracmon had done something to him...but it still hurt a great deal.
"Simon," She tried to speak to him calmly as she got to her feet, though he didn't even seem to acknowledged she'd spoken at all. Simon went to kick her once more, though this time she managed to avoid the attack, instead latching onto his leg and shutting her eyes tightly. "Stop it! ...Please!" Her voice was more pleading than demanding, tensing a little as he simply went and kicked her with his other foot. She didn't release him though, bracing herself for another attack as she tried to figure out what to do to get through to him.

Two polar reactions occurred throughout these events from both human and digimon. Dracmon, on one hand, felt his impossibly wide grin grow even further as he saw the assault casted upon the ones that had attacked him. Those stupid digimon that had actually defended their partners from a harmless little attack by attempting to beat him into the ground. If Dracmon had any visible weaknesses it was that he never let those who have wronged him go unpunished. His thirst for revenge overwhelmed his acknowledgement of Mouse... and that was dangerous.
She was crippled, bent over with her hands in her hair without staring at these scenes of violence. Her feet uneven and balance thrown, all that she could focus on was the horrible noise of the pulsing dark spore in her neck. It was becoming hotter...and hotter... boiling and ready to bloom. The girl couldn't cry or even speak, and it was taking every inch of her energy to keep her from bursting into maniacal laughter. This wasn't funny... but why couldn't she stop smiling?! Her lips twitched and grew into a cheshire grin, her entire body bubbling with laughter as she tore at her hair - trying to contain it. At the same time, multiple streams of cold tears trickled down her cheeks while she grit her teeth hard enough to chip them.
Dracmon could feel his partner's reluctant giddiness well up within himself, causing him to release a terrible cackle himself. The digimon threw his arms open as his entire body shook with triumphant laughter as he watched the scenes in front of him unfold so perfectly. They deserved this... they deserved it for hurting his Mouse... and for attacking him when he tried to defend her. No, his views wouldn't be altered no matter how twisted they were – they had the dark spores to thank for that. "That's right! Make them SUFFER! DELETE THEM! I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT! [/sup] HAHAHA!"[/color] It was then everything came to a screeching halt.
Delete them? Kill the digimon? Mouse tilted her head upwards, lips suddenly drawn into a thin line as opposed to her wickedly wide grin she had been wearing only moments ago. Her eyes widened to the point they began to hurt and her entire body quivered with the realization this was more than just harmless fun. Whatever the dark spore had been doing to her suddenly stopped. With a very light shake of her head, she began mouthing things to her partner. "N-...no...Dracmon...d-don't...let them die..."
But her pleas fell on deaf ears as the digimon continued to laugh and mock them. The spore's effects on her may have quickly drained but it almost seemed that Dracmon was overridden by them now. He couldn't hear her, see her, or even feel her fear that she was feeling. Her digimon...her friend... he was becoming a monster. And nothing she would say would snap him out of it.
Mouse's head suddenly snapped towards Latch and Simon. With all her strength she pushed herself to her feet. It was the only way... only Latch and Simon could break this spell without Dracmon's help.
"Listen to m-me..." Mouse began, realizing her voice would be hard to find in this situation. "Y-you're... not... like this... you d-don't want to kill them... p-please... be str-stronger than...hi-him...we-we don't want..you t-to hurt..."
Mouse didn't know if they'd understand what she meant by this. Whenever she and Dracmon felt the need to harm people... they almost always regretted it later. It wasn't that they didn't feel responsible... but something had taken them over and CAUSED them to do things like this. It was obvious that this wasn't the very first time.
"P-Please! B...be strong! Please!' she shouted at them from afar, watching in stilled horror... there was nothing she could do for them... and the worst part was – even if they did break from this spell...
They'd probably hate her.

Not much other that blackAgumon's teeth existed at the moment to Latch, not even wincing as the reptile digimon's fangs sank deeper into his skin... This would probably hurt quite a lot later when he was back in his right mind. He was numb to it right now but the weight of him holding his arm up with the rookie hanging onto it like that was sure to cause damage that would warrant stitches. If his partner's fangs had been longer, he would be risking damage to his muscle tissue by doing this, by pulling so forcefully at the digimon's muzzle. Pain didn't exist right now though, nor did the bleeding holes in his arm as the crimson substance bubbled up from his veins and wove between BlackAgumon's teeth.
The rookie had to let go at this point, as he could feel the amount of damage he was causing by this point... He hadn't meant to cause this much of an injury, it was never his intention to do this. BlackAgumon let go and at the same time Latch took him by the muzzle and threw him off to the side. The dark reptile skidded along the ground a little, spitting up blood from his mouth that was not his own. He quickly got his feet though, eyes widening a little at the state of his partner's arm... He could barely even bring himself to look at it really.
Latch took absolutely no notice of the state of his arm though and started for BlackAgumon again, merely registering that the injured arm really wasn't functioning right now. The almost pleading look in his partner's eyes was lost on him, as the fog of Dracmon's attack restricted his thoughts and feelings. It was almost like he'd fallen asleep and was unaware of what was going on at all, and there almost seemed like no way to wake him up. All that drove his actions was the dark rookie's influence as he continued forward."Listen to m-me..."...who was that?
Latch stalled a moment, blinking almost as if he was starting to come to or something... However this moment passed and kept going. His pace was slower though, and he almost stopped again. BlackAgumon looked towards Mouse a moment, as he was not deaf to her pleas. All he could hope for was they would bring his partner back somehow."Y-you're... not... like this... you d-don't want to kill them... p-please... be str-stronger than...hi-him...we-we don't want..you t-to hurt..."...damn it, who was that?
The wounded young man stopped, a faint wince fighting its way onto his face... He was becoming aware of a great pain in his arm. He could feel eyes on him, and after a few moments he found that they were BlackAgumon's. "Latch... Come back." The rookie looked up at his partner beseechingly, begging for him to come back... Even if the first thing he did was cuss him out for the mess he'd made of his arm, he still wanted his partner back to his senses. At this Latch seemed to stall again, the fog in his eyes seeming like it was starting to deteriorate. "P-Please! B...be strong! P-please!"...wha....what?
Latch shut his eyes tightly as a pain entered his head, as he started to get through the spell Dracmon had placed him under. He slowly sank to his knees, the hand of his good arm going up to clutch at the side of his head. BlackAgumon watched this quietly, after a moment daring to go closer and touching his claws gently to his partner's arm... An oddly tentative movement considering what he'd done with his teeth a short bit of time ago. "...you can do it..." He murmured to his partner, though something about his words seemed almost like a command. Like Latch better get through this, like there was no other alternative.
His partner clutched at his head tighter, making a sort of choked noise like he was trying to keep from crying out. The pain building in Latch's head was unlike any he'd ever felt, it hurt more than any bone he'd broken or any muscle he'd pulled... Nothing was worse than this. The harder he fought the worse it got, to the point where giving in seeming like such an easy thing to do. Of course it was easy though, it was giving up, that was always the easiest way out.
But Latch wasn't one to give up, not ever.

"-haHAHA!"
Bearmon startled as her partner burst out in a sudden fit of laughter, a look of forced joy bubbling up into his expression. The sound piercing her ears and caused them to lie back. It was most definitely Simon's laughter...yet there was an uncharacteristic and fake twist to it. Even though the noise had sent a chill through her, it didn't seem real. It was just a noise. There was no emotion or satisfaction behind it...as if it was nothing but obligatory.
It distracted her however, unconsciously loosening her grip as she stared up at Simon in silent confusion. He hadn't planned it, but at the same moment he attempted to tear his leg from Bearmon's grip...succeeding and before she had time to reach he managed to kick her across the pavement once again.
Bearmon pulled herself up to her feet once she gathered the energy, deciding to simply block and dodge Simon's attacks until he wore himself out. She might have tried to say something to him again, but he rarely listened even when he was in his right mind...leaving her at a sort of lose.
"Listen to m-me..."
At this, Simon paused, glancing over at Mouse, this time no faux look of enjoy on his face. Instead, his expression was simply drained, eyes dull once again as they turned away from Mouse and blocked his thoughts of anything she was saying. All that existed in Simon's conscious right now were Dracmon's words, and only Dracmon's words... telling him to teach his pet a lesson... make them suffer...
DELETE.
Unlike Latch, Simon couldn't bring himself to fight Dracmon's trance, stomping forward and aiming another shot at his partner.
This was pathetic! Absolutely pathetic! ...Somewhere in Simon's mind, he was scolding himself. After all the time he'd spent and wasted fighting pointless fights, and couldn't stand his own in one that actually mattered? Pathetic.
Simon let himself slip away some at this, pushing any part of his mind that was aware and letting it cower far away from his thoughts. He didn't want to think about what he was doing. There would be no guilt for it later if he couldn't remember...right? When he could just blame it on another. No one would ever know he gave in so easily...
Except himself, of course.

M O U S E . All hope seemed about lost at this point. One still had that blank look on his face and the other burst into the same maniacal laughter that Mouse had only moments ago. She watched in horror that her attempts at helping the two were slowly fading, causing her to once again want to curl up and give up for now. The pain of the digimon could not be helped... and it was all her fault that this was happening in the first place. Mouse knew that her attempts to help would only lead to things becoming worse... and she was right.
After all of that, their suffering made her feel no joy. She had almost been struck by Latch and had been shoved out of the way by Simon after trying to protect him. Why did she even want to help at all? What was the point? Dracmon had been a better friend to her than either of these boys she barely knew. Why was it she was so driven to help them? Mouse felt her heart beat louder and louder in her head while Dracmon was still enthralled by these scenes of violence. It was as if he couldn't hear her or see her, and her throat had became too tight for her to call out to him. "Dracmon...please..."
But no amount of pleading would quench Dracmon of his bloodthirst. Nothing tickled him more than the sight of the humans being tortured by their own partners. The satisfaction of knowing that his bond with Mouse was stronger than theirs would ever be kept him satisfied. Mouse, on the other hand, couldn't take much more of this. The dark spore wasn't even making this somewhat bearable. People were in pain because of her... people were being turned against each other because of her...
Mouse's eyes screwed shut as she felt something gape inside her chest. A wound in her heart she had forgotten about and had left to rot. That dark spore is what filled the void, the absence of fear or guilt when she saw others hurt in front of her. That fear of being hurt completely erased from her life. In a way she felt like she should thank whatever otherworldly power was keeping her from feeling the same pain that she had felt most of her life after watching countless animals slaughtered and being beaten every time she went someplace that she was supposed to call 'home'. It saved her from going mad, and yet made her mad. Was oblivion worth what the dark force did to her? Did forgetting the pain do her any good?
Suddenly the pained cries of Latch reached her, causing her head to snap up to see him but not Simon fighting against the spell. The girl was trying her best to fight off a great amount of pain, herself. That feeling of wanting to save them at the expense of void that consumed her heart growing. Alone. Alone. So alone... but... human.
Maybe it was the feeling of loneliness that made people human in the first place.
This notion woke her up. Mouse's entire body went rigid with the brisk cold that swept across her body – that cold that she had forgotten about once she began spiraling into the madness caused by the dark spore. She saw Simon giving in and continuing to attack poor Bearmon, but not Latch. Latch continued to fight against it... the spell that Dracmon had set on him had become weakened by Mouse's voice. Maybe... that feeling of familiarity before. That kinship she felt with Latch when it came to their inner darkness... maybe that would be what it would take to wake him up.
It was silly. She hadn't even known any of their names. But...
Mouse's stance took one of confidence, something that hadn't happened the moment she crossed paths with Latch or Simon. Her body fell relaxed as she started her way towards the struggling Latch, hands shaking lightly.
"Latch? she spoke his name, testing it on her tongue. It was the name that BlackAgumon had just called him by...and for some reason it felt right. At the same time, she glanced over towards the other boy. The name that Bearmon has called him slowly rising through fear that had clouded her mind. "Simon...?
Her body nearly seized up when she came only inches away from behind Latch who was struggling with himself. It was dangerous... he might as well have punched her if she touched him at this point. Yet... that nagging feeling. She had to take that chance if it meant it would help.
Very slowly her hands reached out to Latch's shoulders and gently rested along the fabric of his jacket. Her entire body was shaking, scared of what he may do to her because of it. But the moment she felt the warmth under the jacket, her fear simply melted away. It was then she allowed herself to slide her arms around him, embracing him from behind and pressing her cheek very nervously into his back. Mouse's lips then parted to mutter a barely audible whisper,
"Please...Let us help you."
