It was always a strange concept; to be surrounded by people and yet remain so alone. From human company at least. People of all ages bustled past, paying little heed to the people outside the group they were in or those things that were not available for purchase. Of course there was the odd few that were settled on benches throughout, giving their weary legs a rest from the strenuous task of shopping, or the small groups scattered about, loitering in shop entrances or against walls, merely passing the time. Really it was quite an eclectic grouping of individuals, something that pleased Taylor to no end. It made for a far more interesting show then the park from whence he had just come. There was always something to look at, and that was how he liked it.
He sat back, notebook and pen resting gently on his lap, his extra large satchel set beside him on the bench he had managed to acquire, keeping it right up close lest someone attempt to steal it. That might raise some very awkward questions if the thief were to glance inside, so best it just be avoided at all, if possible. Taylor watched as a small gaggle of girls passed by and stopped not too far away. Deciding that this group would do for now, he flipped open his notepad to a clean page and poised his pencil above the paper as he assessed the group, and almost immediately could pick out who was more or less the "head" of it. She was definitely the most talkative, and though what she said was in Japanese, he could more or less get the gist of her words. Immediately he felt a pang of jealously; he'd never been invited to a party before aside from the few formal dinner parties his parents sometimes hosted, and here she was talking about so causally as though it was hardly anything special at all. Taylor found himself secretly wishing on her for it to go horribly, and immediately felt guilty. He frowned, a small furrow appearing between his brows as he finally set pencil to paper. Deciding to dub the girl "Emma", he sketched out a crude drawing of her face, then adding various notes to the side for his own amusement. His Emma was popular and throwing a party this weekend, but also a stuck up prick, as he'd noticed her shooting furtive yet dirty looks at various people that passed by. This progressed through an entire story of her avid social life, her good grades and her boyfriend "Tim", before a small voice wafted out from beside him, sounding almost irritated, though obviously trying to conceal the fact.
"Please do tell me you are not doing that ridiculous profiling again. I hardly thing it's natural. You should just go talk to them instead." Bakumon greatly disliked this pass-time, though he still didn't know exactly how unnatural it was, not having spent enough time out in public to make fair judgment. At least from what he'd seen however, most didn't spent their time huddled on a bench creating stories for other people's lives. Bakumon also hated it for it meant that he had to sit still for hours sometimes while Taylor secretly intruded upon other people's lives. At least that was how he saw it, Taylor of course would disagree and Bakumon had given up on trying to persuade him that it was rude. Shifting around in the bag in an attempt to achieve a more comfortable position, and noted the line in between Taylor's eyes deepen as his work was more or less criticized.
"Please don't. You know I've always enjoyed this..." The boy tapped his pencil against the page a couple times, and gently bit the corner of his lip. Well that was great. He sounded more upset then Bakumon had expected; usually Taylor too got faintly irritated whenever he brought it up, and he had been about to respond when the boy added, with a now faint smile, "...besides, I have you to talk to. You're not going to leave me, right?" Vaguely Bakumon wondered how many times they'd have to go through this, though the answer was easy. It wasn't like he really could go anywhere. True he was now free from AIR but he was just another form of captive now. It was almost a nasty thing, this false freedom, and would very much like to leave back to the life he had known. Perhaps if they had been natural partners his opinion would have been different. Yet he couldn't bring himself to tell this to Taylor, and merely responded as he usually did,
"Of course not. I'm not going anywhere." He settled down into the very bottom of the sack, not wanting to have to watch Taylor and his note-booking. Taylor, on the other hand was for moment satisfied. He had what he wanted, at least for now; A companion who was totally his and would never leave. He scanned the area looking for someone else to start a new page on, his companion as always, close by his side.

ELIYA WINTERS.
Maybe it was some kind of mental glitch - or maybe he really liked screwing with her... whatever it was, Eliya didn't enjoy having a digimon partner that couldn't speak her native tongue. Every time she brought Minomon out in public he would spout off into random languages ... well actually, he always did that.
Maybe he had no control over it - that had to be it. Eliya would hate to think that her digimon partner had some sort of grudge against her that he'd always speak in some tongue she couldn't understand. The important thing was that at least he seemed to understand what she said, despite her difficult accent.
Today was a day at the mall like any other. She strolled around with Minomon in her purse - the two on a mission to find the perfect set of earrings to complete an outfit for Eliya. She'd be meeting her brothers for the first time soon, and if she was going to introduce herself to guys she was going to have to spend the rest of her young adult life with then she had to do it with style. Unfortunately her partner-in-crime had decided to start up one of his infamous arguments in a language she did not understand - causing the two to start fighting as subtly as they could while pacing around the mall.
"Look, oi get that yer upset over somethin' oi said and oi'll letcha know oi feel just awful about tha... but croikey, Minahmon, oi can't undastand a blooday thing yer sayin!"
"Nǐ shì yīgè fēicháng yànwù de nǚhái! Nǐ zhíyí wǒ de nénglì, zuòwéi měiróng shī yīnggāi shòudào chéngfá! Bù bù bù!"
"Yes yes oi heard ya but lemmay tell ye for the last toime OI DUN SPEAK CHOINESE!" Of course Eli knew better than to yell at an alien in her backpack, so instead she choked it out more like a strained whisper. Minomon finally fell silent for a while and Eliya was relieved to say the least. He was certainly a hard critter to keep quiet. This relief was short-lived, however, when he began to mutter to her again from her bag.
"I riħa Digimon ... hey ħarsa f'dak borża, tfajla iblah!"
She didn't even know what language he was speaking in anymore. All that she could pick up from what he was saying was 'Digimon' and 'Hey'. Did he mean that there was a digimon nearby? Eliya frowned some and she took a look around, not seeing a digimon in sight. However, Minomon's tiny stub arm continued pointing the direction of what he thought to be where one may be.
"Yanno, doin' tha is a lot easiya than just spoutin' words that oi dun undastand." ... "wenn sie so viel mühe haben, dann lesen sie ein buch verdammt ..."
Well she caught on that was German... and she could also tell by his tone that whatever he said hadn't been very nice. However, Minomon would take the hint and keep his foreign ramblings at a minimum for now. They had finally found a friend! Maybe! Eliya walked over to the white-haired boy (the one that Minomon had been so rudely pointing at from the inside of her purse) with a soft little smile. It hurt her to see a nice-looking person by themselves on a bench.. and Eli fancied herself as something of a 'guardian angel' to those that needed a friend! Hopefully this guy didn't turn out to be a major creep.
"G'day! Can ye help me out?"
Eliya happily chirped to Taylor, rocking back and forth on her heels innocently as Minomon's beady black eyes peered out from behind the zipper. Hopefully he wouldn't notice him quite yet. Eli had already planned out this entire scenario in her head: Lost foreigner never having been in a japanese mall before... However she knew exactly where each and every store was (that was her womanly teenaged duties, after all!) but she may as well try to make the lonely-looking fellow feel like he was special that she came up to him explicitly - even if just for a few moments. Besides, according to Minomon... this guy may have a digimon, too!
"Oi'm lookin fer an accessories shop. Yenno, with jewlery an' all tha? Moye, yer haya cula is just gorgeous! How d'ya do tha?" [/blockquote]

Just another boring day, walking around in the crowded mall... he was probably going to buy a screwdriver for Kapurimon to nibble on at one point. He had nothing to do today, no happy memories to erase nor any new, edgy products to test for the higher-ups at AIR. He would have much rather stayed at home, in fact, but Kapurimon had insisted (in her light, cheerful way of insisting) that he leave the house. He'd obliged, not wanting to disappoint his raccoon-tailed companion, and now found himself trudging along, both hating and loving the crowd he was in.
Sure, everyone ignored crowds of people and the faces in them, but what if someone he knew walked by and greeted him? They wouldn't understand Avery didn't recognize them, because he'd never explained that unusual aspect of himself to anyone. On the other hand, he'd probably be unnoticeable. But if someone did notice him... this cycle of thought went round and round in his mind until he just wanted to leave at any cost. He had forgotten how much crowds terrified him.. but he couldn't leave, he had to put up a brave front for Kapurimon to see. He wouldn't want her to lose faith in him so quickly after he'd purchased her! Maybe ha'd just... sit down for a while. That sounded acceptable.
Avery waded out of the crowd, the flow of people leaving him behind much in the manner that ordinary water does to sticks stranded on rocks--flowing away from or around it or whatever was necessary to get where it was going. He snorted softly, checking to make sure Kapurimon was still snugly tucked into his medical bag. People could be so inconsiderate... He walked along, cautiously avoiding being picked up by the stream of people again. Then he noticed something odd.
A boy nearby--a boy? Well he couldn't exactly be sure, but whoever it might have been was just sitting there and.. watching. The strange had white hair, a trait that made Avery glare at him. Why did so many people have white hair? There was the alcoholic who worked for AIR and at least one of the AIR clients with such light locks. It really was annoying, how was he supposed to keep them all straight? Avery swallowed nervously; wondering whether he was supposed to know this particular white-haired stranger or not. But did it honestly matter if he was?
While he was busy pondering this predicament, another figure approached the white-haired one, speaking in what Avery could make out as some sort of demi-British accent. People these days, couldn't they all just speak one language? On impulse he wandered closer, noting the interesting red mark on the white-haired boy's (he could tell it was a boy now, thankful that his own prosopagnosia wasn't as bad as other cases) face. No, he certainly did not know that mark--he would have remembered it.
Without knowing why, he walked up to the pair--careful not to get too close, people were dirty--and grinned. "Why hello there! I was just passing by and you both seemed a little lost. I was concerned and took it upon myself to help you both out! How do you do, my name's Orson!" It was a mystery to him how much of that was true. After a little nudge from Kapurimon, however, he did correct one fact. "Ah, sorry, the name's Avery, actually. No idea why I'd say otherwise." He didn't hold out his hand for a gentlemanly shake, not even after another nudge from the bag.

He more or less noticed her approach immediately, first out of the corner of his eye, then with his full on attention as he realized she was coming directly at him. During his secondary scan of the mall he had noted her apart from the others mainly because she appeared to not be a local, which caused her to stand out a bit, at least to an observer like himself. In any case the chances were high that the girl hadn't even noticed him...the girl was probably just randomly walking in his general direction and would veer off eventually. It was a possibility that he might have started a quick page on her had he not looked up a second later to see her standing right in front of him, and -
"G'day! Can ye help me out?"
Sadly, he had about the worst reaction possible, or at least it was probably high on the list of bad reactions. It was also more along the lines of something a girl might do, and not vice versa; something that is possible mortified him even more. So much for a good impression. He had jumped at her appearance and voice, slammed his notepad shut as fast as he could and to his horror felt that tickle that signified the faint pink slowly blossoming across his nose and cheeks Honestly this had been unexpected despite the warning he had had. People, especially those of the feminine gender never approached him, so it had kind of shocked him that this girl was talking to him, a stranger. A few thoughts flew through his head..what should he say? What if she somehow saw Bakumon? Taylor hoped the digimon behaved and stayed hidden. What would she like to hear? That is if she stuck around for longer then an answer to the directions. He could comment on her..clothes? Ask her about her time here? Why was he even worrying about a conversation that probably wouldn't take place? All these thoughts and more zipped through his mind in less then a few seconds, before he managed to nod at her request for assistance.
"Oi'm lookin fer an accessories shop. Yenno, with jewlery an' all tha? Moye, yer haya cula is just gorgeous! How d'ya do tha?"
"Um...y-yeah..there's one..um..I saw it when I came in..I think.." he bit his lip trying to remember, as to actually be helpful and make up for his terrible first impression. He wished to hell he'd stop stuttering. It was hardly becoming at all, and he wouldn't be surprised if Bakumon was being entertained by this, especially since he had wanted him to speak to someone else. He wasn't nervous, oh not at all. He loved people. It was the compliment she gave that was causing his fidgety demeanor...mainly because it was connected to his somewhat stupid experiment that had occurred out of sheer boredom and a desire for change. Before he could stop himself he found himself answering her second question too, fingers finding the hem of his light blue sweater and beginning to pick at a loose string out of embarrassment. "Laundry bleach..." he muttered softly, cheeks growing a slightly darker shade of pink, though now a small hint of a smile payed at the corners of his mouth despite his embarrassment. "Don't ever try it though..trust me." He hadn't been about to ignore her question...especially after she had said she liked the color. Though why he couldn't have just lied and said it was a dye or something was beyond him. For the moment, Taylor had forgotten about the little digimon in the bag beside him; something that was a rare occurrence indeed.
Bakumon meanwhile, was indeed enjoying this from his little space in the bag. It would be good for Taylor and would possibly take some of the almost constant attention away from himself. There was only so much he could stand, even if he was never treated with anything but kindness, if not in an obsessive sort of way. He really did wish he could poke his head and at the very least greet the girl, but that wouldn't be allow-he paused, his own thoughts interrupting themselves as he sensed something...or more like smelled something faintly recognizable. But here? Was there possibly another digimon here in the mall? Bakumon couldn't help it...he shifted ever so slightly and tried his best to peek over the top of the bag without being seen, and saw nothing from his vantage point..aside from another person; a young man heading directly their way. Immediately, he ducked back into the bag lest he be spotted, if not already too late. He had already risked it once, though he was CERTAIN the digimon was near..perhaps...right next to them even.
He heard the man stop nearby, and a voice that wasn't Taylor's or the girls rang out, obviously directed towards them. It sounded upbeat and friendly, but one cold never tell right off what a person was like, that much Bakumon knew.
"Why hello there! I was just passing by and you both seemed a little lost. I was concerned and took it upon myself to help you both out! How do you do, my name's Orson!"
Another person? Taylor honestly was now a little overwhelmed, though displeased he was not. He was about to open his mouth to tell the guy that he wasn't lost at all when he spoke again..proclaiming that his name was actually Avery. Odd. Wondering if this guy might have some horrible memory problem, he decided not to address the mistaken name, as much as he'd like to. Instead, he was silent again, and shot a furtive glance at the bag beside him, only now thinking how unfair this was to Bakumon. Poor thing had been cooped up for so long and now he wasn't even receiving any attention. It wasn't like he could do anything about that right now though. Turning his attention to Avery, he gave him an almost perplexed look, unsure of what to actually make of this guy. But he couldn't ignore him either.
"That's...kind to offer but I'm not lost" he paused...before adding. "But..if you could maybe point us in the direction of an...um..accessory store..that would be very good of you." he shot the girl a small glance, accompanied by a smile. He would get her to her shop. She had asked for help after all.

ELIYA WINTERS.
Well...that went...well?
Eliya's eyes snapped open wide to see Taylor flinch back and slam his notebook shut - only making her wonder in silence what the hell he had been drawing. Naked women...? Naked women doing... things? Naked women doing things with EACH OTHER?! Suddenly her face was growing a bit red to as she counted away all the possible things that an artist didn't want others to see.
Despite all of these horrible things that she could have accused him of doing, she decided against it and smiled politely at him instead. Fighting the normal color back to her face, Eli began to pull nervously at a few strands of her own hair, forcing a little laugh. "Hey issokay, mate." she offered as her only words of comfort, wondering if this had a bad idea.
Minomon, however, was far more perceptive than his human partner. If he had eyebrows he'd be happily wiggling them to see that someone had been startled by her gorgeous appearance. That was his girl! He took pride in the idea that boys went tomato-faced around her. With a low chuckle, Minomon stuck out his arm and started poking at Eliya's side obnoxiously, grinning up at her with his pincers. "Kare wa anata ga kawaiida to kangaete iru~♫"
After that, Minomon's vision was soon met with Bakumon staring out. The little caterpillar rose his stubby hand in greeting, offering him a wink as to signal that he was a living creature and very aware of the other's presence, "Yo!"
"Laundry bleach..."
Laundry bleach?! Wow... she would have never guessed that he was the type to dabble in dangerous chemicals by himself - because no self-respecting hairstylist would ever use laundry bleach. Before she was about to comment on this she was stopped by another newcomer. She looked over Avery with wide eyes, slightly peeved that yet another person was about to yoink away her tour guide.
"Why hello there! I was just passing by and you both seemed a little lost. I was concerned and took it upon myself to help you both out! How do you do, my name's Orson! Ah, sorry, the name's Avery, actually. No idea why I'd say otherwise."
It took almost all of Eliya's restraint to keep her from asking aloud 'really?' Minomon was becoming increasingly impressed with her, taking this as people flocking to her beauty. The digimon pressed his little hands up against his mouth, holding back a chuckle. Eli barely picked up the sound of his laughter and became irritated... was she being made fun of somehow? Her mood dampened with the appearance of Avery and she suddenly frowned some, irked that he had the nerve to interrupt like this.
"Oi can take caya of moyself, thank ye very much, sah. This koind gentl'man was gonna show me around, roight?"
Eli glanced down at Taylor with a nearly flirty smile. It was innocent, however. She just didn't want to deal with this new guy that apparently thought she hadn't enough of a brain to get herself around.

"Oi can take caya of moyself, thank ye very much, sah. This koind gentl'man was gonna show me around, roight?"No no no, that simply wouldn't do! He wasn't about to let these two new acquaintances just up and walk away, was he! Of course not! "Oh but that's not very much fun, is it?" That was marginally truthful--it wouldn't be fun if they left, but he wasn't sure he'd particularly care. He'd forget them in an instant anyway... well... the problem was that he wouldn't. He'd remember the boy's red mark and the girl's foreign accent, and the fact that he'd let such unique people go without talking to them longer would bother him for days.
While Kapurimon would ordinarily be quite content to remain in Avery's medical bag, she felt unhappy that such nice people were going to leave. "I think you should stay and say your names. Mister Avery already introduced himself. And I'm Kapurimon." That was as emphatic as she ever got, quietly making a suggestion that she didn't expect to be heeded. She didn't mention if she was uncomfortable in the stifling bag, which she may well have been. Nor did she mention her desire to meet everyone face to face. She was much too passive.
Ohhhh dear. "I'm sorry, did you hear something? I didn't, no, not at all." He tried to tuck the bulky bag under his coat and muffle any further noise that Kapurimon might make. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done. Unless the presence of a digimon enticed the others to stay, in which case there was no damage at all!
He fidgeted, nervous, wishing that his partner had had the sense to keep her little mouth shut for once. But it wasn't any use blaming Kapurimon, and besides it wasn't her fault and.. and this was just an attempt to justify trying to keep the two strangers from leaving.

Well that did it. If he had been pink before, it was nothing compared to the line of red now brushed across his nose and cheeks, and Taylor knew it too. Instinctively, he reached up and tried to conceal it with his hand in hopes that the tingle would dissipate soon. What was wrong with him? Both of them probably thought he looked like a total idiot and that was far from what he would like to be seen as. Peering over his hand, he nodded in response to Eliya’s statement, for whatever reason not feeling particularly comfortable around this Avery, no matter how friendly he was coming across as. That didn’t mean he still couldn’t be friendly though until they parted ways. Wanting to at least speed things up however, he stood, hoping to get moving soon, and also hoping that Avery would not try to follow them unless of course Eliya ended up inviting him, which didn’t seem likely at all.
“Of course..I said I would didn’t I?” Carefully he tucked his notepad under his arm and lifted his bag up off the bench, slowly as to not jostle Bakumon around too much. Bakumon, who at that very moment been trying to peer out again due to the fact he had indeed just spotted the Wormmon in Eliya’s bag, was caught off balance from the sudden lack of support and fell backwards onto the canvas that made up the bottom of the bag he himself was in. It didn’t hurt, but it was somewhat irritating that he hadn’t gotten a second look. The seemingly small occurrence of being unable to even stand when he felt like it was just another marker of his captivity.
On the other end, the fall had caused Taylor’s bag to make a fairly unnatural jerk, and not yet knowing that the other’s carried digimon themselves, he tried to talk some more in the hopes they hadn’t seen anything. “..ah, I’m Taylor by the way. There’s no point in talking as strangers is there?” he directed this more at Eliya, but he did shoot Avery a few glances in between in an attempt to avoid ostracizing him at least. What the guy said was somewhat unnerving...about how them leaving wouldn’t be fun. How was it fun for him anyway? He had to at the very least be six or seven years older them himself alone, not to mention that they were total strangers. He had decided not to respond to the statement, because well, honestly he didn’t know what to say. He wasn’t used to this sort of thing.
Taylor’s introduction was ironic as not two seconds later a voice rang out from the general direction of Avery’s bag...voicing the desire to hear their identities as well. This caused him to jump again and peer around for the voice, wondering if he shouldn’t have waited a little longer to say anything at all. What intrigued him more was the possibility that this was like him, and that there was potentially another digimon present hidden just within Avery’s bag. The bulkiness and obvious attempt by Avery to hide it was a good indicator that there was something abnormal being hidden. “Pardon me, but who said that?” he asked, giving both Avery and the voice, giving the bag some rather scrutinizing looks. “Don’t lie,” he added dully to Avery. “We both heard it, you know.”
Bakumon, meanwhile, was again trying to get a rather wobbly footing to gain a visual of the group. The fact he now sensed not one, but two digimon in close proximity had increased his wish to become involved, and stop being forced to remain silent and hidden. He wanted so dearly to speak with them, as it had been some time since he had been among his own kind, though he highly doubted Taylor would allow him any time alone with them; that is, if he got to speak with them at all. He couldn't help himself, and since Eliaya and her companion Wormmon were both so close, he made a small, sound, resembling a throat clearing, hoping at least the Wormmon would know it was him, as he has seen him not minutes before. He wanted a reason to be able to reveal himself, and if this helped, he would gladly use it. He just hoped everyone here was as friendly as they made themselves out to be.
