Nyaromon's eyes widened. That human... just ruined all the fun. She slumped a bit,t hen glanced at Laurette in alarm, peering down from the top of her head down to her neck. She let out a short sharp cry and hopepd back down to lick and nuzzle gently against the small dots of blood, attempting to clean the wounds.
Laurette winced a bit, staring down at her partner. Her brows were furrowed and she shook a bit, tears building up and just barely sliding out from her eyes. She did not like blood. August's cries only fed her anxiety. An extremely irrational part of her brain chastized herself for having blood to bleed.
Of course any and all rationality was pretty much murdered and thrown away when she saw a giant freaking bee coming after them.
Laurette.
Did not.
Like bees.
Also someone threw their cat at it.
"AH LA VACHE!!" she pretty much shrieked, head buzzing along with the wings of the bee GIANT BEE COMING RIGHT FOR HER IT SAID IT IT SAID SO AHHH she dropped down and covered her head, crying and useless.
Nyaromon, however, did not have this crippling fear like her partner did. She blinked and bristled. Laurette was in distress, in extreme distress! She felt herself bursting with rightious fury. How dare that giant jerk threaten to kidnap them! They would not go out without a fight! Nobody here would!
Following the puppy and the flying cat, Nyaromon leapt at Flymon, feeling a surge of energy.
NYAROMON digivolve to...
v v v
PSYCHEMON!!
Grinning and brimming with energy, the newly evolved Psychemon hurled herself at the enemy. "Psyche Horn!!" she shouted, sending out waves of confusion from her pointed horn to use it both as a disruptor and a sharp weapon.

He blinked as he noticed the nod and small smile David gave him, feeling a little reassured by it somehow. Ethan looked towards the floor a little as Gigimon asked why his partner had been staring at him though, as if he was faintly embarrassed. He really didn't think the other had been staring at him, but for whatever reason the implication almost made his insides squirm... Not in a bad way though. It was difficult for him to really explain to himself even and in the end he just decided to disregard the feeling entirely and listened to what David said to all of them.
Ethan was about to state that he kind of wanted to go home, since his clothes were still wet from Laurette's drink and kind of uncomfortable. He knew they'd be dry eventually but he didn't like the idea of wearing dirty clothes longer than he had to, the idea bothering him a bit. However he was interrupted by a loud buzzing noise, blinking and looking to the source of it... And thusly wishing he had never even left the house. Dorimon gave a low growl, something she rarely ever did as the enemy digimon spoke."ATTENTION, ATTENTION, I AM HERE TO KIDNAP YOU CHILD-TYPE PEOPLE AS WELL AS YOUR DIGIMON PETS! FEAR MEEEEE!"Dorimon jumped down from Ethan's arms and was about to dart forward to protect her partner from this new threat, when someone threw an in-training digimon at Flymon. The boy blinked and looked over in the direction of Hatsuharu, realizing he had been the one to hurl Wanyamon into the fight first. He felt dumbstruck for a moment, really unsure of how to respond to such a thing happening. Ethan would never do that to Dorimon, and he was pretty sure no one else here would do the same to their partner.
However as August started to scold Hatsuharu, his attention shifted back to Flymon as he tried to figure out how to get out of this situation. All of their digimon combined still weren't even half as big as the champion digimon, and he doubted they weren't even half as strong together. They'd get hurt if they tried to fight it, maybe even... Killed. Ethan shook his head a little as if to clear those sort of thoughts from his head but they lingered there almost stubbornly.
They only faded as he heard Shaomon shout an attack, watching as the little dog-like digimon leapt forward to fight. Ethan glanced back towards Laurette a moment, only to be shocked into jumping back a little as Nyaromon suddenly turned into some dog type thing. He watched blankly as she rushed forward, taking a moment to adjust... Yes he had a digimon, but her form had always been constant. Dorimon had been Dorimon since he had got her, and despite being told of digivolution by her it was still an odd concept to him.
He looked to Dorimon after a moment, eyes widening as he noticed that she too was starting to run forward to join the fight. "Dorimon no!" Ethan darted forward and collected her from the ground, keeping a firm hold as she struggled. "Ethan I have to protect you!" The digimon shouted, trying to squirm out of her partner's hold. He nearly let her go, but instead he just tightened his grip, shaking his head a little.
"No, I can't risk losing you." He said quietly, yet in a firm voice... His partner going still at this.

"ATTENTION, ATTENTION, I AM HERE TO KIDNAP YOU CHILD-TYPE PEOPLE AS WELL AS YOUR DIGIMON PETS! FEAR MEEEEE!" No sooner after David spoke did he hear the buzzing of Flymon's wings, attention brought upward as the champion rather quickly came into view. He wasn't entirely sure what to think, a look of shock coming to his face as he watched the digimon grow closer. Was...he scared? Or just surprised? ...It was probably a bit of both, stepping back a small step before his body froze up a bit. What THE HELL was that thing?! A digimon obviously, but... he'd never seen one that wasn't just a blob with eyes and stubby feet. This was definitely a surprise to him, though he didn't know why. Gigimon had explained things like this to him over and over, but to actually witness such a creature was close to terrifying.
Of course, David wasn't about to turn and run off. He was startled, yes, but not enough that his pride wouldn't keep him rooted to the ground.
"Defeat that digimon!"
...the f*** did he just see?
There wasn't much time for him to react to the kid that had come out of practically nowhere and thrown (what looked like) a blue cat head toward Flymon. Instead, his attention went to Gigimon as his partner suddenly slipped from his grip. David turned to see Gigimon's little legs working toward Flymon, a sudden burst of alarm running through him as he stepped forward to quickly grab the in-training and pull him back up into his grip. "What are you doing?!" David's words come out hurriedly, seeming both bewildered and worried about his partner's actions. It didn't matter what the other digimon were doing, ignorant to the fact that they were all here to protect their human partner's despite this was another thing Gigimon had told him more than once. How could something so small possibly defend him against something so monstrous?
"I'm doing what I'm suppose to! Now let me go!" Gigimon protested, wriggling in David's grip as his partner watched him in shock. The in-training could only imagine how odd this seemed, that he could protect him against a threat like this...but Gigimon was determined. "David! Trust me, please!"
...
Either David had let up on him or Gigimon was thrashing too much for him to keep hold, but the in-training suddenly finding his feet had come to land on the floor. Gigimon didn't turn back to make sure this is what his partner had meant for, darting forward toward Flymon. Despite his size and strength at this stage, his determination to ward off the stronger digimon was unwavering. As Flymon approached, Gigimon sunk to the ground to ready himself... springing upward as far as he could manage once the other was in range-
"HOT BITE!"
Fiery hot, Gigimon's teeth came to bite down into one of Flymon's legs, clamping down as hard as he could. It might be enough to distract him while the other's attacked as well, but he wasn't going to give into overconfidence. It would take much more to defeat something like this.
On the sidelines, David found himself simply staring up at his partner with a look that was more or less horrified. No matter how prideful he was, he would've much rather have walked off than see his partner jump into something this big. He was so small and...as far as David was concerned, defenseless. For reasons unknown to him, he glanced over at the others, finding none of them were taking this any lighter than him. Well, save the kid that had thrown his partner.
"Fuckin- ....what are we suppose to do?" David's voice was was quieter than he had meant for it to be, not ever sure who he was speaking to. He supposed, whoever would listen. Or even hear him.

FLYMON. the SHEPHERD.
[/sup] AHA! They were scattering, the tiny puny humans were scattering! HE HAD WON! He had won! ..oh wait, he needed to bring the kids back. Panic and destruction were not the goal here--a successful kidnapping was. Fortunately for him, it appeared that all the digidestined were staying close by, battling the tide of the fleeing crowd. He flew closer and closer, pincers clicking in delight. And then something blue flew at him, missing him by yards. Was that... a digimon? THE OUTRAGE!! THESE HUMANS WOULD PAY FOR THIS DISGRAC--
OW.
Something, a ball of black light, had hit him square in his shell-cased chest--hitting him with all the force of a light push but stinging all the same. Why were they fighting? Hadn't he made it clear that it was useless to fight? ...no? Oh, well then, better clear that up by saying something AWESOME! "RESISTANCE IS FUTILE, PUNY MORTALS."
There. That should take care of the fighting--HEY! Whoa. He wobbled a bit in the air, thoughts suddenly muddled. What was he doing again? Destroying something, right? Yeah, that must be it. But why was a little red digimon jumping at him?
OWWWWWW!
The bite was painfully hot--and on his leg, one of the least armored parts of his body. HE WAS KIDNAPPING THE KIDS! That was it! His mind lumbered back on track and latched to the task as tightly as Gigimon was biting onto his leg. Which was pretty tight. "HEY, GET OFF ME! I DO NOT APPRECIATE THIS!" Was he yelling too much? Was that why the humans seemed so willing to fight? Pfft, like it mattered. Flymon started flying to and fro, shaking his legs rapidly in an attempt to dislodge Gigimon.
He might as well cause some destruction while he was at it! "POISON STING!! His stinger dislodged and flew towards the crowd of humans with great speed, but limited accuracy. He was flying about, after all, so what more could be expected of him? If only that digimon would get off his leg... He flew from side to side faster, the buzz generated by his wings now a loud drone. The stinger grew back in a matter of seconds, just as it always did, but for some reason he refrained from launching another attack. Maybe it was because he was getting dizzy from flying back and forth so quickly.

It was too much, the crowd of screaming people would have trampled over Shaomon if she hadn't done something to get him away and out of the fight. August scooped up the small digimon in her arms and soon was pushed away from all the screaming, terrified people. With all her cries of 'no' over and over, her expression hardened. She wouldn't let a small thing like THIS stop her from being a hero! Despite how hard she wished, however, she continued being pushed further and further into the crowd and far away from the fight.
As one last hurrah however, another blast of black matter came from behind Flymon. August and Shaomon had disappeared into the crowd - perhaps to get away from the attention that came with keeping your digimon out in public. It wasn't abandonment, no, but rather means for a distraction. She was never the type to ditch her friends, even new ones.

"WHAT ARE YOU, STUPID?! YOU CAN'T JUST THROW A LITTLE BABY KITTY CAT AT A GIANT BUG – ARE YOU CRAZY?! I SHOULD SMACK YOU FOR DOING THAT.. YOU KNOW WHAT I THINK I WILL IF WE GET OUT OF THIS ALIVE. RUDE. SERIOUSLY. RUDE!"Haru looked at her with mild dislike. "Don't you think its a bit more rude for you to scream in someones face? It's just a stupid cat, and besides it's mine, i can do what i like with it" He looked at Wanyamon with unbridled dislike. He watched her run away and shook his head angrily. What kind of person tells someone off and then runs away? He turned to walk away. That's the last time i ever try to help someone.Wanyamon watched her partner walking away with distress. "Wait master wait!"she called hopping after him. "Master, we have to help them. Please master" Wanyamon jumped into her masters arms. Haru opened his arms as his digimon jumped up. He stopped walking and looked down at Wanyamon. Usually he felt revulsion to the little digimon, but for a moment he felt genuine affection for her. He stroked her fur. ''Alright" he murmured "We will help them" Wanyamon bouced out of his arms and back over to the other digimon. "RESISTANCE IS FUTILE, PUNY MORTALS."Wanyamon shivered hearing the digimon's words. She was terrified of the giant digimon, but she had to fight for Haru's sake. "I'm going to help you fight" she told the other digimon determinedly. she bristled up and faced the Flymon "Let's beat this meanie!" She leapt after Gigimon. "Smiley Fang!"Haru watched Wanyamon attack and almost groaned from the uselessness of her attack. It would only tickle the huge Flymon. If that. He figured the other digimon would have a better chance against the champion level digimon than his puny Wanyamon would. But he might as well let her try. What was the harm in it? He had almost laughed aloud at the looks he had gotten from the other digimon and their tamers when he threw Wanyamon at Flymon. He had so much fun now that she was here. Maybe they were right though, maybe he should treat her better. He would see what happened after this fiasco was over.

Laurette gripped at her bonnet as though it would help protect her, vision blurred by her tears. All over her body she felt little squirming stings, little ants, vicious hornets, disgusting worms. She feared insects immensely.
Psychemon burst into viciously delighted giggles as the big bulky brute was confused thanks to her attack. She landed hard on the ground and scraped against it, ready to launch herself at the ultimate again. She stammered to a halt, however - even as Flymon recovered quickly from her attack - when she heard the pitiful sobbing just behind her. That was Laurette...
NO! She could not go back for her just to comfort her. That would put her in more danger. She didn't dare look back at her, lest her focus break. "Help her, please!" she barked at the nearby boys before darting forth toward their foe. She did not want to go straight to her because then this giant bug would definitely get to her. She needed to stay and fight it off, not leave it to these others!
She once more threw herself at the flying digimon, this time latching down hard with her claws opposite from where Gigimon was. "You calm down now..." Digging her claws into the flesh of the bug's leg, this time she aimed herself toward his belly, hoping to get a good shot at his softer flesh.
Once again, the psychotic energy shot out from the little rookie toward the beastly ultimate.

Chaos, that was all this situation had become as far as Ethan was concerned... And he was at a loss for what to do.
The newcomer had decided to fight, one girl had ran off, the other was in hysterics, and he found himself and David to be what he considered dumbstruck.
Ethan had never been in a situation like this before, and the fact he had no idea what to do was causing him untold amounts of stress and anxiety. He almost felt like running away himself but something was keeping him rooted to the ground where he stood, most likely fear. He watched as the other digimon fought Flymon, feeling Dorimon give another little squirm. She could feel her partner's fear and panic, something that just made her want to fight even more... She was here to protect Ethan, and she would do that no matter what.
About around when Psychemon yelled back to them to help Laurette, Dorimon finally managed to squirm free of Ethan's grip and leap forward. Despite the fact her partner immediately called her back she rushed forward on her stubby little legs anyway, determined to help fight off the champion digimon. "Metal Drop!" The in training spat out a bead of iron, the ball shooting towards Flymon at an incredible speed. She was certain the attack would be successful, though she wasn't entirely sure where it would hit; she really hadn't though to aim at a specific part.
Meanwhile Ethan was frozen a moment, watching as his partner rushed at a creature that was probably roughly... He couldn't even calculate such a thing at the moment, all he knew was that Flymon easily dwarfed his partner in size and strength. His voice caught in his throat as he thought of what might happen to her, unable to call out as he watched Dorimon attack. The metal bead she spat out seemed so pathetic, he had to think it would barely do anything in means of actually damaging the insectoid digimon. She had just walked right into a death trap as far as he was concerned, the same going for Gigimon... At least Nyaromon had digivolved, Psychemon had more of a chance.
He had to get his partner out of there, there would be other times she could protect him but this time she was just getting herself into more danger than necessary. Ethan glanced around a little for whatever reason, finding that his gaze lingered on David a second more than anyone else. Then after a moment the teen did what was unarguably the dumbest thing he had ever done in his seventeen years of life... He ran forward towards the fray. All that mattered to him at the moment was getting Dorimon out of harm's way, his own safety did not exist at the moment.
All he cared about right now was his partner getting out of this alive.

With his focus on Gigimon, David barely even noticed August had left up until he took a look around at the others. His mind didn't dwell too long on the thought however as his eyes fell back on his partner, finding there was a rather sick feeling in his gut. Did he really care about Gigimon that much? ...David hadn't even realized how much he relied on the in-training, taking a shaken breath as his mind raced. He couldn't just stand here and do nothing! ...But, he couldn't figure out what on earth he was suppose to do.
"Help her, please!"
Brought out of thought by Psychemon's voice, David looked over to her and then Laurette, noting how shaken up the girl seemed. He frowned suddenly, realizing fairly quickly what he could do now... and that was to get everyone else out of harms way. He didn't stall too long before walking over to Laurette as calmly as he could, trying not to seem as panicked as he felt. He paused a moment as he tried to figure out what he was doing, though he thought quickly. "We should go someplace safe," David spoke about as softly as he could manage, though given the situation he seemed a bit rushed. Before he could hold his hand out for her to take he caught the sight of Ethan running off right for the fight, suddenly turning to watch him.
...goddammit!
Did he have to look after EVERYONE?!
David gave a loud groan of frustration, putting a hand on Laurette's shoulder a moment as if to tell her to hold on a moment before he turned and took off after Ethan. It took him a moment or two to catch up with him, nearly at the fight scene before he managed to throw his arm out and grab Ethan by the wrist and yank him back. "Are you fucking insane?! That thing could kill you!" David snarled out of panic, pulling him back further and trying to ignore the feeling that he shouldn't be this close. Because of it, he turned to hurry back for Laurette, intending to drag Ethan the rest of the way if he really had to.
"Look, we should all go someplace safer, alright?" David spoke up so the other three could all hear him, casting a glance to Hatsuharu before his gaze went back to Laurette. Once he was back to her he held out his freehand once again for her in case she needed it, feeling the urgency that they needed to be at a much safer distance from this fight then they were.
In the fight, Gigimon felt his grip on Flymon's leg loosen as the digimon flailed, quickly finding himself flung back onto the ground. He gave a small squeak as if in pain before getting to his feet, shaking himself off. The in-training was momentarily distracted as he glanced over to his partner and noticed him rounding up a few of the others, smiling to himself for whatever reason.
Gigimon wasn't sure what it was, but his confidence rose a few levels, giggling to himself in excitement as he bounced toward again and went to attack Flymon once more. It wasn't that this was a game to him suddenly, because he knew it wasn't. It was just that even though he was only an in-training... Flymon seemed to be having trouble fighting back against all of them.

FLYMON. the SHEPHERD.
[/sup] Ow, ow, oww, ow, OWWWW! The shouts of horror and the sight of the fleeing crowd wasn't nearly enough to soothe his stinging leg. At least the firey-mouthed digimon had dropped off of it.. for now. He wasn't about to take any chances though, and rose much higher into the air to be out of anyone's reach. He heard a tiny voice call out an attack--smiley gang? Wily fang? Either way, whatever it merely glanced off his nearly impenetrable abdomen as he climbed high into the sky, untouchable by man.
But, unfortunately, not by psychic beams.
A sick, woozy feeling rose up in him as his flight path wobbled and he dropped lower to the Earth. Or maybe he should fly higher? That big light, in the.. sky... it looked so ENTICING! With little thought to the wisdom of flying away or to the wisdom of flying towards the sun, Flymon rose once again, majestic and-- "OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!" OW! OWW!
There was a burning in his side, like he'd been shot by a human gun, he was sure there was a dent where it had landed but that was impossible but he couldn't look to see and, and, and....! "WHO... WHO DID THAT! I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL RIP YOU LIMB FROM LIMB AND EAT THE ASHES! EVEN IF THERE ARE NO ASHES! I'LL MAKE SOME, I'VE GOT POWERFUL FRIENDS! WHO CAN BREATHE FIRE!" With all concern over yelling gone he sped towards the ground, almost crushing the little Gigimon who went flying at him--whose teeth merely glanced off his side, as that metal ball should have done but DIDN'T!
He was angry, SO ANGRY! He was going to get back at whoever had hurt him, and he was gonna get them GOOD! He turned around so his poinded abdomen faced the digidestined. "POISON STING!" The stinger fired into their crowd, hopefully hurting SOMEONE. Then they'd know he was dangerous.

"Help her, please!"Haru glanced sharply at the digimon, then at her partner. He saw her crying and barely stopped himself from running to her side and comforting her. usually people didn't like it when a stranger tried to comfort them. He looked to see what the other boys were doing, maybe they would help. Haru almost ran over and smacked the boy that went charging after his digimon. What a stupid thing to do! It wasn't worth it to try and help a digimon. They would do better without humans getting in their way. "Get back here you dolt! You'll only get in their way!" he shouted to the boy. "Look, we should all go someplace safer, alright?"Haru nodded, glad someone else had taken charge. He was definitely not up to being the leader at the moment. He followed the one who had taken charge. He also wanted to be a safe distance from the fight, he had no desire to be anywhere near it. Wanyamon was dismayed that her attack had done nothing. Not even tickled the huge digimon. She doubted he had even felt it. She tried again and again to no avail. "WHO... WHO DID THAT! I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL RIP YOU LIMB FROM LIMB AND EAT THE ASHES! "POISON STING!"Wayamon saw Flymon point in the direction of Haru and shot away. She moved as fast as she could. "MASTER LOOK OUT!!" She jumped and blocked the blow with her body. "Look, we should all go someplace safer, alright?"
It was like having a drop of water suddenly put a gentle end to a long silence. Only this worked the other way around. So much noise, so much clatter and fear and insanity. This was a soft voice amongst it. It was soothing and nice and just for her. She felt calmer and more secure. Things would be okay, right? They were being protected. They would all be just fine.
Just kidding, she was still panicking like crazy. There was still a giant freaking bee there, after all. She did calm somewhat at the voice, jerking herself up a bit to look up at him. But that had allowed her to see the bee again. Hey, look at me, I'm a giant freaking bee! I will sting you with my stinger that's bigger than you are! I am making that insanely loud buzzing noise that no bee should ever make! I mean it's not that loud but hell, no bee should be making a noise that loud all on its own. But here I am! Rocking like a hurricane!! Oh man oh man oh man why did bees have to be so damn bee-ish!? Bees and spiders and ants, they should all be wiped out from the face of the earth! All the little creepy crawlies. Get them all away!!
"Okay..." she managed to utter despite herself. It was an obviously strained and high-pitched, thick with tears utterance, but she managed to speak at all without just screaming incoherently in French so it was a good step forward. She tentatively held her gloved hand out, flinching back a bit but still very gently taking the boy's hand.
Psychemon, meanwhile, was having another manic display of glee as the massive insect was once more thrown off by her attack. That surge of pride and inflated ego wanted to make her throw her arms back and shot 'AM JUST SO AWESOME!!' but she resisted the urge and instead used that energy to give herself a safe landing from jumping through the air like that. She watched as Dorimon shot off a little bullet, causing Flymon to whine like a bitch about it. she gave her a thumbs-up and a toothy grin and started shuffling forward again. As she watched the near-tragic events and the little digimon merely glance off the beast, she could not help but feel her pride faltering. They could very easily lose.
She jumped up and caught Gigimon as he glanced off the larger digimon's hide, setting him down once they landed. Feeling herself becoming exhausted from throwing herself into the air so much just to get at their enemy, she was very quickly becoming unsure and worried. The Flymon's words had not gone past her either. Did he really have more friends? That would be bad. She watched as the Kudamon sent its attack out to the digimon and got an idea so stupid it had to be genius. She quickly located Dorimon and rushed to her, snatching the little digimon up.
Pumping herself up, she took a huge breath and flung herself upward once more. Flinging herself this high so rapidly was taking a toll on her. "Shoot him right in the face or something!!" she shouted, aiming the little digimon like her own little gun. She even gave her a squeeze.

"Are you fucking insane?! That thing could kill you!"
Ethan gave a sort of yelp as David suddenly grabbed him by the wrist, fighting against him a moment with his eyes fixed on Dorimon helplessly as she remained in range of the battle. He resisted and pulled against the other's grip at first, still desperately wanting to save his partner as he had been intending to do... No matter how idiotic the move seemed. However he was a little weak from the situation, still fairly overwhelmed by the fact that there was a giant bee attacking them here in the real world.
As a result he was basically dragged by David back to where Laurette was standing, looking pretty miserable as he realized he probably wouldn't be able to rescue Dorimon like he had initially planned. The teenager barely even registered what was being said, biting his lip a little as his eyes stayed trained on the fight as he tried not to estimate the chances of them winning; instead he just decided to blindly hope everything would be okay. Ethan didn't really realize it but he was shaking some, both from fear of losing his partner and just from the overall severity of the situation... He found himself wishing he hadn't even decided to leave the house today.
Then he wouldn't be covered in iced coffee, and he wouldn't have to worry about how well he was interacting with others, and they wouldn't have been attacked by a freaking giant mutant bee. Ethan issued a very faint whimper before exhaling shakily, trying to calm himself down at least somewhat before he ended up wrenching his wrist from David's grip and getting himself killed. This all sort of went out the window though as Flymon finally decided to attack them directly, watching as Wanyamon took the hit for them... The boy honestly felt sick, thinking that the poor thing would be killed. However as it instead rose back up and digivolved of all things he felt some relief, looking off towards Dorimon; maybe she would digivolve too and everything would be okay.
Still though he was quite obviously scared, stepping a little closer to David and sort of lowering his head so he's stop watching the fight for at least a moment.
Dorimon was far less panicked than her partner, as all she could think about was protecting everyone from the champion digimon. She would need to thank Kudamon after all of this was over for saving everyone from Flymon's stinger, but for now she would need to stay focused on her current goal. The little purple digimon wasn't even thinking about what their chances were, as she sort of knew that it would only serve to discourage her and make her think that they had no chance of winning at all. The in training was encouraged by the fact that her attack had affected the enemy digimon so much, smiling and nodding to Psychemon in response to the thumbs up.
The little digimon was about to attack again but was a little distracted by Flymon's words. What if he really did have reinforcements, what if they came after their partners? If they were all as strong as the insect digimon she found themselves faced with now and they came in great numbers... Dorimon really didn't want to think about that, as it scared her greatly. She didn't want to think about Ethan being in constant danger from this one event, wondering what they would need to do in order to stop that from happening.
...?!
Dorimon gave a squeak of surprise as Psychemon suddenly picked her up, giving a faint squirm before she just sort of dealt with it. She blinked at the order she was given, squirming a little again as she was squeezed; she wasn't used to being handled like this, like a little weapon or something. Even so she wasn't about to refuse to attack Flymon, after all they were protecting their partners and she wasn't going to just stop because she didn't appreciate being handled this way. The in training took a sort of deep breath, before going and spitting another bullet out at the champion digimon and aiming for the face.

Lightly, David wrapped his fingers around Laurette's hand as she took his, his other hand still gripping firmly at Ethan's wrist. It crossed his mind to let up some, that he didn't need to literately lead them off someplace safer like some sort of babysitter. However, he couldn't bring himself to let go of either of them, if not for the fact that they both seemed ready to lose their heads... than the fact that he wasn't doing too well himself. Whatever composure he'd managed to keep up til now, he could feel it slipping, his heart skipping a few beats as his eyes strayed toward the battle going on between the shepherd and partners. His eyes frantically sought out Gigimon, just momentarily catching sight of the little red digimon before Flymon came crashing down to the ground... from what David could see nearly crushing his partner in the process.
...!!
The sight caused his heart to start beating in his throat, swallowing hard as he tried to calm himself. He wasn't suppose to be the one freaking out here -- no, he needed to keep calm and lead the others out of here. ...Even so, he found himself unable to move a moment, eyes still glued to the spot Gigimon had vanished from his sight and resisting his own urge to go after the little in-training. He was beginning to understand Ethan's earlier actions, however he refused to let them overcome him completely. He needed to keep calm. He needed to keep calm.
...don't... ...panic...
"GIGIMON?!"
David didn't even realize the shout had left him until after he heard his voice ringing in his ears, blinking as if in confusion as he noted the light shake at the end of his voice. ...He was scared. As much as he didn't want to acknowledge this fact, he wasn't sure how much longer he could push it aside. The fact he'd just called out to his partner so desperately probably wasn't very reassuring to the others either, finding his grip on both of them had tightened slightly. What was he doing again? ...Getting them someplace safe, right. Ugh, come on, just go already!
The boy managed a step back a few paces, leading the others with him a short moment before he found himself stopping again. He wasn't being the best leader, he realized, but he couldn't take his gaze from the fight... still trying to figure out where on earth his partner had gone. Had he actually been crushed? No, no no...I didn't want to think like that. Gigimon was probably fine. ...He hoped.
Meanwhile, the little in-training found himself in a tight spot, having honestly panicked slightly as Flymon nearly tumbled over and squashed him like a little bug. He was grateful for Psychemon's help, blinking as she caught him and set him on the ground as they landed. He watched the rookie a moment before sighing slightly, readying himself for another attack as he hoped this one would be more successful for the last. It never crossed his mind that the group of partners might not win this, as Gigimon was confident there was nothing to worry about. ...Possibly a little too confident.
His ears twitched as he heard his name form from his partner's voice, perking up and looking around as he realized he couldn't spot David amongst the scatter of things going on between them. The champion shepherd practically separated the two, for once since this battle had started instilling an uneasy feeling into the in-training. David sounded so distressed ...Gigimon could feel it too, in the pit of his stomach -- a sickness of fear that wasn't his own. Was he hurt? Had Flymon managed to actually get to him?
Gigimon shook his head, ears folding back as he reassured himself David was fine and would continue to be fine. They all would. The in-training refused to believe anything else, not letting himself worry about the possibility that there would be any other outcome to this. Maybe it was naive, but he was determined. He would do everything he could to take care of David.
[ GIGIMON digivolve to . . . _ ]
[ . . . GUILMON ! ]
With David's panic still throbbing in his own chest, Guilmon had to keep from looking over himself in excitement at his new form, keeping his attention on the situation. Now wasn't the time to let his mind wander, planting his feet firmly on the ground as he wasted no time in cocking his head back... jaws agape as a ball of embers began to build between his pointed teeth-
"PYRO SPHERE!"
The ball of hot flames fired from the rookie's jaws, aimed directly toward Flymon's wings. The rookie felt overwhelmingly excited at his attack, tail swaying some as he glanced around at the others as if to ask if anyone had seen. It slipped his mind momentarily how serious this situation was, perking up suddenly as he spotted David around the other side of Flymon. He felt a bit of relief at the sight, a look that was mirrored in his partner's expression as they spotted one another.
"...hn."
It took David a moment to feel relief at the sight of Guilmon, mostly because he wasn't entirely sure what he was looking at. That... was his partner, right? He felt slightly ashamed that he even had to think about it, something almost instinctively telling him he was correct. There was still a build of fear fluttering in his chest, but it seemed calmed slightly, finding himself at least able to function now that he knew his partner was alright.
"Sorry... lets go," David nearly spoke under his breath, keeping his hold on the two others before going to head someplace safer than this. He wasn't sure where that would be however, keeping his eyes out and constantly looking back to make sure that thing wasn't getting any closer... hesitating a moment as he noticed Haru was still behind. "Kid, are you coming with us or what?" he called out urgently, looking ahead again and then back to the kid.

FLYMON. the SHEPHERD.
[/sup] Things were bad, things were very, very bad. Every turn was for the worse (by his point of view, anyway, as it certainly seemed to be looking up for the 'heroes' of the situation) and he was sure there were turns yet to come, the very thought filling him with dread. But what could he do? The Harvesters would punish him if he came back empty-handed, right? But he was outgunned and outnumbered, surely they'd understand, be sympathetic enough to take mercy on a poor soul like hi--HEY, WHAT?!
His stinger, the one he'd fired into the crowd! A digimon had leapt straight into its path!! Oh this was bad, this was very ba--oh wait no, it was getting up. Wait, IT WAS GETTING UP? That wasn't right, not right at all. It should have died, burst into data and have been reconfigured in the Village of Beginnings.. but instead, it was getting up. It was digivolving. HOW DID IT HAVE ENOUGH ENERGY AND STRENGTH LEFT TO DIGIVOLVE?! That wasn't possible, it wasn't physically possible, he'd never had that problem before. Was it because it was his third stinger of the day? Were his stingers decreasing in strength all on their own? Was he, oh no it couldn't be, weak-willed? Or worse... im... impe.. impot.... impertinent? Impotent, that was the word. Was his strength fleeing him with every wingbeat? He wasn't that old, it shouldn't be happening, but it was admittedly possible.
Flymon's whole being was seized with fear--the Harvesters had no use for weak digimon. Maybe it was just the toll the polluted human world was taking on him, yes that had to be it, it had to be, for his own sake. A little time back in the digiworld, whose mercifully clean skies had seemed lands of crowded boredom but now seemed like mana from heaven. A little time flying there would clear all his problems right up, right? Well, they were gonna have to.
He was vaguely aware of the should-have-been-dead Wanyamon digivolving, and then heard rather than saw a bright booming flash of light from the newly-digivolved Kudamon. Stupid thing, couldn't it see he didn't have eyes? Well that wasn't strictly true, but what primitive eyes he had were just that--primitive. He relied mainly on sound and the information he picked up through his antennae, a flash of light simply couldn't affect him very much. A hot metal ball, on the other hand, would certainly hurt, especially if it crashed into his--
"MY FACEE!" He screeched, taking to the air again and trying to get past the pain, glad the bullet hadn't landed anywhere near his mouth. He needed that to eat things, after all. Or he would die. Or was that just humans? The pain was messing with his already slow thoughts, and he couldn't for the life of him recall a simple fact he'd known for the majority of his life. Oh, these people would pay. "YOU'RE ALL GONNA PAY FOR THIS!!!" There, that should get the point across.
And they would pay, just not today because he was going to hightail it out of there while he still had all his parts mostly intact. He had already started to rise high into the air, in fact, when the flaming blast ripped at his wings. An inhuman shriek filled the air and he managed to flap his buzzing wing quickly enough to put out the fire, but the damage had been done and he couldn't fly as quickly as he would have liked. Just before he started to fly away in earnest, however, he decided to give them all one last gift. "POISON POWDER!!" What little sleeping powder was left on his wings after the fire wafted off and towards the digidestined and their partners. Satisfied that he'd wreaked enough havoc, Flymon flew away as fast as his fire-damaged wings would allow.
