APPEARANCE.
Standing at 5' 1", Briana's Irish heritage is readily apparent in her dark grey-blue eyes and head of crimson red hair, worn at shoulder length, which while not something most people would pay attention to back in the states does tend to attract a few sideways glances in Japan. While she may detest the feel of it, Briana still wears the skirt and skirt uniform of the high school she attends, although once away from school grounds she'll usually change into the customary jeans/ cargo pants and long sleeved sweatshirt at the first chance she gets - on very hot days she'll wear cargo shorts and a t shirt in place of the heavier clothing.
Her appearance in the digital world doesn't change much. While other people may have drastic wardrobe changes, Briana's clothing simply changes into a very durably yet light yellow jacket and pair of shorts with a faded sage green t shirt and tan hiking boots, perfect for her get up and go personality.
PERSONALITY.
To sum it up, Briana is not the delicate individual most would expect from the first glance most people usually get of her. From early childhood Briana was always fascinated by the outdoors, and while she held a huge interest in video gaming and continues to do so, she had an equally large interest in insects, reptiles and amphibians, things that repelled and horrified most other girls her age, and still retains an almost insatiable curiosity about anything that most people would consider too alien for comfort, as well as the drive and motivation to investigate on her own. Briana isn't one to simply stand by and accept insults or predjudice, either - while she's mellowed out quite a bit from the upstart she was as a child, she will not hesitate to throw words (or punches) right back at a deserving offender.
While she may present a tough but curious and cheerful exterior to the rest of the world, Briana is a good, if eccentric, friend, although the very extent of her curiosity has been occasionally responsible for driving a handful of friends away from her over the years with never ending questions, which while ocassionally few never truly stop. Usually this results in her staying towards the rear of whatever group she happens to be with at the time as she simply watches and observes, but when something that draws her attention happens to cross her field of vision it often results in one of two possibilities - either Briana will leave the group to investigate on her own, or she'll finally speak up and leave anyways, often inadvertantly dragging at least one or two individuals along with her. For all of these qualities, though, Briana does have a small feminine facet to her personality, although this actual extent of said facet has yet to truely be seen yet.
Above all else, however, Briana loves to travel, be it by foot, car or boat, although flying has always had a special significance to her. It was for the very love of simply being on the move that resulted in Briana's presence in Japan, and it will likely be the reason she will eventually leave, rather than the simple end of her stay as an exchange student. While she is unsure of how to make it happen from where she currently is in life, Briana's dream job is to eventually become a pilot, regardless of the role as long as it means being able to fly.

hometown; Danville, Virginia, USA

Father: Michael Aednat
Mother: Katherine Aednat
Born in the city of Danville, Virginia, Briana Aednat was the only child of Michael and Katherine Aednat. Briana lived a stereotypical life for a girl between the ages of two and four, showing the same interest in nearly everything that someone would have expected for the age group and gender until she hit about the age of five. What started it all was innocuous enough - a simple beetle trapped between the screen and glass of a window. Living in an apartment too small for a dog or cat but still too young to keep a fish or alternative based on her parents' judgement, the small creature captivated Briana, who had never interacted with any other animals at length besides the ocassional cat or dog at the house of one of her parents' friends, and never for extended periods of time. Briana had spent hours watching the insect cling to the screen, looking for a way out, continuing to do so even after her parents arrived home and not drawing their attention until after she attempted to open the window herself with the intention of setting the insect free, and was horrified when she realized that her mother intended to squash it - it was only her begging that convinced them to release it instead.
While only a day in her life and one that most adults would believe soon forgotten, Briana remembered it in spite of, or because of, the child's mind and perspective that she had at the time, and while it may have been slightly unreasonable she couldn't help but draw a comparison to the insect struggling to be free of the cramped confines between the window and screen, and that of herself, living in the apartment and only allowed out with her parents and only until they were done with their business. Her first day of preschool was the happiest one of her life, finally getting to spend the days outside of the cramped apartment she had grown up in up to that point, and within the first few weeks of attending school her curiosity, a trait that would stay with her and never die, awoke.
As Briana grew older, so did her ability to comprehend exactly how large the world really was, and how little of it she had seen. While learning to read provided a release valve for her unending fascination with anything and everything that was different from what she had known, Briana quickly grew bored with simply reading about things as time went on. It wasn't until she was seven years old that Briana acted on her boredom, however, and it was something that neither of her parents expected as Briana had kept most of her activities and questions to books and similar topics - three weeks before her eigth birthday, Briana asked them if they would take her camping, a concept with which she had grown particularly attached to having grown up in the city. While initially confused at first, Michael and Katherine figured it would be a relatively cheap but worthwhile family memory and birthday event, and agreed, with the Aednat family leaving for the trip on the day of her birthday for a four days.
Briana was both ecstatic and fascinated, and the trip itself was as influential for her as her encounter with a mere beetle had been years ago. Never before then had she experienced the feeling of being surrounded by such life, nor seen such a clear sky unmarred by smog, smoke or other trace pollutants. From sunrise to sunset, Briana spent every day on the move, fully aware that the experience would eventually end and eager to see as much as she could before returning to the same monotonous routine that was called normal life, earning an appreciation for everything she saw and taking none of it for granted. While sad to leave after the four days had passed, Briana was more satisfied with the request that she'd posed to her parents than she could have imagined.
From that point on Briana made a point of asking for a camping trip for each of her subsequent birthdays, and was pleasantly surprised on her eleventh when her father offered her a chance to go with him on a business trip to New Mexico, an experience that would forever cement her love of flying and the goal of becoming a pilot in her mind. As she progressed through middle school Briana began looking for any excuse to see new places, having become addicted to travelling, and finally finding her way out to anywhere else in the student exchange program available in high school during the summer between the transition from 6th to 7th grade. Immediately setting it as her goal, Briana decided upon Japan as the destination should she become eligable for the program - where better to travel than the other side of the world? Dedicating herself to learning the language in her spare time from multiple sources over the next three years, from online lessons to more obscure means, Briana was ecstatic when selected as a candidate for the program upon entrance into high school.
