APPEARANCE.
Oh Beatrice. Best start unwrapping this one from the top.
We start at the skull, a near-perfect sphere that ends in a gentle curve at the chin - topped with ash-blonde hair often tied in unbraided pigtails that reach her shoulders. Though often hidden by her unruly bangs, her eyebrows are darker than her natural hair-color and kept thin so that she appears her age. Her pale-green eyes are framed by short, lightly-colored eyelashes that are nearly impossible to see without being accentuated with mascara. Though her eyes are lacking in shine or innocent and dilated pupils, there is still a friendly look about them.
There's nothing remarkable about her skin tone - it's neither ghostly pale nor healthy and tan. She's just...average. Average weight, average height (around five foot seven), and average body type. Her limbs are all of equal length and proportionate. The only thing that can be somewhat unique about her is her constant facial expression and how she chooses to dress. Beatrice, more or less, is always smiling at different degrees. Her lips are always drawn in a thin smirk, a large and toothy grin, or a (frankly) manic expression that can't be named.
The way she dresses is the only thing that she needs to differentiate herself from an excruciatingly boring-looking person. Her wardrobe can be described (in the most delicate way) as a 'disney character gone bad'. Over practically anything she wears she will also sport a trench coat held closed with two large buttons and branches off into two huge white cuffs that meet her wrists. To add to this twisted fairy-tale look she wears a pair of dress gloves often seen worn by animated characters such as Mickey Mouse. It's better you just don't ask about the gloves
PERSONALITY.
This is where things start getting complicated.
It goes without saying that something isn't quite right in Beatrice's head. While at times she plays the loud, ditzy, gawky, obnoxious young lady rather well there are also times where... well things start to get a bit spooky. Beatrice is a person based on layers (not masks, layers) all which she subconsciously peels off and places back without any control whatsoever or just how
Beatrice has enough positive emotions for three or four people–known for her undying optimism and animated behavior. To add to the obnoxious amount of enthusiasm she just so happens to be deaf in one ear which causes her to shout... a lot. Her partial deafness is not something she openly explains, however, which would only lead most people in believing that she's just loud for the hell of it. Beatrice is the classic case of someone who follows their heart versus their head, always going with her gut feelings and impulses before asking questions. While this alone is already quite dangerous (considering that she's not the most mentally sound person) she is also very impatient. If she doesn't get the answer she's looking for within seconds, she very well may press a NERF gun up against your skull.
"NERF gun?" you ask? Well going back to what we were saying before, Beatrice is not right in the head. Not only does the dark spore embedded in her neck drain her innocence but it also dramatically heightens her paranoia. Whether because she's been diagnosed with mild schizophrenia or the dark spore attempting to isolate her, Beatrice sees things. It's not the type of 'seeing' you do with your eyes, however, but rather how she mentally perceives things. NERF guns are actual weapons, tall pale men are vampires, and people that walk with a slight limp are zombies. Yup, Bee is a Grade A horror fanatic - and comes with all the good and bad that such a title entails.
Constantly on her toes, suspicious, and sensitive to unsettling silence...Beatrice is everything that the common Zombie-Hunter should be. It doesn't have to be in the digital world or a children's playground, Beatrice knows there is something around the corner ready to hop out at her and attempt to devour her brain for sustenance. To make matters worse, there will be times where she will completely turn on her allies. Instead of seeing those she has deemed as her friends, she will instead see monsters that they slightly resemble take their place. These innocent mix-ups only appear innocent for so long. If left in this state for more than a few moments, Beatrice takes on a disposition that isn't so friendly.
Bee has these... 'episodes'. She's prone to becoming a completely different person when she honestly believes she's being faced with a monster. The girl's eyes darken and she's suddenly not the cutesy ditz that she's so often seen as. Beatrice will go on these berserker rages that will involve her exclamation that she once trusted her new enemy and that she hates them for betraying her. This is most likely the caused by her dark spore which emphasizes her fear of being stabbed in the back. A lot of the time if she views one of her friends as zombies she will often begin to cry and state that she needs to kill them for their own good. While this is usually funny if she's only armed with her NERF gun, these situations quickly lose their humor when she reaches for something like...say... a crowbar. When she gets like this there's almost no talking her out of beating someone to death with a blunt object if she's certain they're bent on causing the Zombie Apocalypse.
On a lighter note, Beatrice's knowledge isn't limited only to the living dead. In fact, the girl is incredibly well-versed in any type of mythological creature and horror films. She will constantly bring things of these nature into her conversations, saying things that range from as simple as a person possible being a vampire since they sleep in too much to a seal at the zoo being a kelpie that's angry from being kept captive for too long. It's not known whether or not if she's proud of her vast knowledge in these subjects or if she's really that oblivious to other's feelings about her silly tangents. Beatrice's information is rarely helpful when it comes to real life... but sometimes can prove useful when surrounded by digital monsters who have been based on fictional creatures.
Despite coming off as a bit...blank... Beatrice is actually an extremely perceptive individual. She is able to read other people's emotions without much effort (which is probably the only useful talent she has other than having pretty good aim when it comes to projectile weapons.) and she'll often be as blunt as she possibly can without being downright mean about it. Not a thing she says is sugarcoated or the stretched truth, which can both be refreshing and/or shocking to those who often don't get confronted with bluntness. While she may be very in-tune with people, she doesn't seem too educated when it comes to common sense. Beatrice has and always will make stupid mistakes and be socially awkward (but this doesn't mean she's uncomfortable around people.) but beneath her ditziness and borderline psychotic tendencies lays a heart of gold.
Oh, and don't let her around fire. That just happens to be her favorite weapon against the undead.

baby, did you forget to take your meds?
Maybe it was because Beatrice never had the chance to be alone, not even at birth, that made her crazy.
Imagine never having the opportunity of being alone, unable to relish in your privacy and do whatever it is you do when you have time to yourself. Beatrice had two over-protective parents and a twin brother that never left her side to boot. Not that this had any negative effect on her, no, that wasn't the case at all. It got to the point where Beatrice needed company in order to survive. She thrived on it. Ever since she was a baby she was always either in the presence of her mother, father, or twin. She was fed whenever she was hungry and always had a shoulder to cry on when she was bullied at school. This would eventually develop into separation anxiety when her parents were quickly running out of money due to hard times at work and taking care of two growing children. Both had to get new and far more demanding jobs which meant less time with their little BumbleBee.
The privacy, at first, was liberating. Beatrice was a six year old that could do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted once she rode the bus home to school with her older brother. They'd play games together, eat the sugar cubes meant for their parent's coffee, and watch the late night horror shows. That's really where her obsession with the unknown and scary began... when she sought out company that couldn't be filled by her parents. She found this comfort with Freddy, Jason, The Thing, you name it. However such gorey and frightening flicks can have quite the psychological effect on a growing child - and Beatrice was no exception.
It started out like it would any normal child, she was becoming afraid of monsters hiding under the bed or in her closet. She'd always ask her big brother to check whatever nook and cranny a bestial horror could be hiding in. The darkness began to suffocate her as she swore she felt eyes glaring at her every night, eyes that belonged to the stuff of nightmares. Her older brother, of course, wasn't as easily frightened as Beatrice and thus couldn't sympathize with her irrational fears. If he couldn't protect her from the monsters then she'd have to, herself.
Everything was beginning to settle into normalcy when her parents were making enough money to start working less hours. Beatrice grew to love her scary movies and took the lessons she learned from them to protect herself from the monsters. When she turned sixteen she was finally ready to accept that such things belonged in fantasy and only fantasy. Her passion for the paranormal began to dwindle as she tried her best to focus on school and be somewhat normal for a girl her age.
This wouldn't last long. Beatrice's stress and growing anxiety that came from her schoolwork and alienation from her family and friends became the perfect soil for a dark spore. Once it embedded itself into her, Beatrice began to suffer from small bouts of depression that'd quickly evolve into a severe psychological disorder. In exchange for her happy-go-lucky personality, the spore targeted her fears. Beatrice would soon be incorrectly diagnosed with schizophrenia as she explained to her parents that she was starting to see monsters and had to defend her classmates with NERF guns. They were prompt with medicating her, but of course... that never helped.
Beatrice kept her suspicions on the down-low, not wanting her parents to think that she was any crazier than they already did. At least once or twice a day she'd see the image of a person flash into a monster then flash back. It was never serious enough for her to actually believe they had been monsters. She tried again to be social by joining a girl's softball team and was doing pretty well for herself. At least...until she saw one of the girls turn into an undead right before her eyes. Bee suddenly found herself standing over her badly-beaten teammate with a bloody softball bat in hand.
Beatrice was sentenced to a mental hospital for three months by her parents, the ultimate betrayal. She became separated from her family and sent away to live at a camp in Japan where her older brother would be going to school. There she suffered from more of these terrible visions, along with the constant fear of being alone. Beatrice knew, however, that she was never meant to be alone - and she wasn't the only one to think so. The girl has no idea that she was destined for something greater than being the best Zombie-Hunter anyone had ever seen.
