As anyone may gather from looking at the dark circles under Ethan's eyes, he rarely ever got a good night's sleep or was well rested. However there were times when he was simply too tired to remain awake, at which point he would inevitably collapse on his bed of simply fall asleep at his desk; the latter was the most common. This time however the boy was lucky enough to have made it to his bed beforehand, mind exhausted from a mix of studying and reading inane things on the internet for hours. He'd barely managed to even turn the lights off before stumbling over to his bed, curling up without even bothering to pull a blanket over himself.
This was fairly normal, as was his rather quick descent into a deep sleep.
What really wasn't normal, at least not to him, was that he soon found himself in what appeared to be a vast expanse of... Absolutely nothing. As someone who suffered from insomnia, dreams were not something he got to enjoy often; but when he did they were usually far more lively than this. They never conveyed themselves as this white that stretched in all directions, as far as he could see. It was disturbing to say the least despite the fact there was nothing that could be described as such here, though that was part of what disturbed the teenager as he looked around a little bit more.
There really was absolutely nothing here, not as far as he could see anyway. It made him anxious, it made him want to wake up... Worst of all it made him feel lonely, as he was indeed all alone here. Dorumon wasn't here to comfort him, none of his new friends were here; there was just... Absolutely nothing here. Ethan wrapped his arms around himself as if for comfort, his nearly colorless eyes still desperately searching his surroundings for something, anything really.
He was so ridiculously unsettled by this place that he had to figure that this was some sort of nightmare, no matter how differently formatted it was. The teenager gave a faint whimper before making the decision to walk forward, thinking that maybe if he moved he would eventually find something here. The boy's steps were slow and heavy with uncertainty and dread, but he forced himself to press on; his only motivation being the desperate need to find something here.
There seemed to be no noise here, not even his footsteps making a sound on the... What on earth was he even walking on anyway? Certainly not dirt or cement or asphalt, in fact it seemed as if he wasn't walking on anything at all. This place was too confusing to Ethan, too unsettling and too weird for him to cope with. He wondered why he hadn't woke up yet with how much everything was bothering him, but it almost seemed like he was stuck here somehow... Like something was keeping him here.
"what the hell is this place...?"
He knew his question would go unanswered, but at the very least he had a noise to focus on; even if it was just his own voice. The fact that he could even hear it calmed him down some, but he was still unnerved by this terribly blank place. Ethan hated it here and he hoped he'd never dream of it again, he never wanted to come back to this place. If he did he had no idea what he'd do, so he just had to hope that this would be both his first and last visit.
He still had to wonder why he was still asleep.

Oh what tasty prey has crawled into his web this time? A broken-heart? An abusive alcoholic? A child molester? Oh so many humans that he couldn't wait to get his hands on just so he could tear them limb from limb. Magnificent ... beautiful blood and bones and stringy muscles that couldn't be found in the bodies of digimon. He craved to see it, dip his claws in, maybe take a taste. It reminded him of what the humans called 'pork.' Bacon? The salty, warm, fatty bacon that they served with the ritual known as 'breakfast.' It was early.. early in the night and becoming morning, just about time for 'breakfast.'
An excited chill crawled up his spine when he saw a figure emerging from the thick mist. What was this...? Upon closer inspection with his hidden eyes he found to his displeasure it had been a boy. A scrawny, teenaged boy. Tch. How droll. Gear felt his eyes roll upwards as he half-considered ditching this scrawny lad for someone more interesting to stumble upon in the void. However, his curiosity ended up getting the better of him... and a smile found its way to his lips again.
Gear paced a few steps back, turning his back on the child before spinning back around and leaping towards the smaller boy. This place... it could have no gravity if he just wished for it. So he did, and Gear was floating in the air and adjusted his gravity so his feet would land hard against Ethan's chest in a leaping kick. The half-digimon bounced off and skidded a few paces backwards, releasing a child-like giggle after the impact. "Hehe...Forgive me! I couldn't help myself. You just looked so...sad and pathetic standing there."
Oh what to do with him...? He would make an excellent side dish, even though there wasn't much meat on his bones to begin with.

Ethan was really starting to think this place was seriously just a white void, and a new thought occurred to him as he thought about it more; what if he was stuck here? He shivered at the thought, hugging himself a little tighter and stalling some with his steps as he looked around yet again. The boy had no idea why he even bothered scanning the area though, when there was absolutely nothing to be seen... Not as far as he knew anyway. so when he found himself kicked in the chest, then flat on his back with the air knocked out of him he was rather surprised to say the least."Hehe...Forgive me! I couldn't help myself. You just looked so...sad and pathetic standing there."The teenager gave a few coughs as he tried to get his breath back, rolling over onto his side and trying to get up. He didn't recognize the voice that was talking to him... it sounded so arrogant, causing some irritation to surface in him. However he was still mostly spooked by his surroundings, so the little flame of anger might as well have never existed to start with. Ethan gave a little gasp to get the air back in his lungs, finally sitting up and putting a hand to his chest where he'd been kicked.
It still hurt from the initial impact, and he gave a faint wince; he wasn't the sturdiest person, so it hurt more to him than it might have to anyone else. Slowly the boy got to his feet, not even having looked over at his attacker just yet as if he was too startled still to. Eventually though Ethan had to raise his eyes from the... This place had no floor... Well he looked up to Gear finally, instinctively taking a step back from the other male. At first he didn't entirely know what to do or say, but eventually some words fought their way out of his throat.
"w... Who are you?" He wasn't going to bother asking why the other had kicked him, he honestly didn't see the point in finding out at the moment. Ethan made himself stand up straight for once, but even so he was still shorter than Gear by a few inches... Though that was nothing new, nearly everyone was taller than him. As a result he didn't feel intimidated by this, not even paying attention to it really. Something about the other definitely bothered him though, and not just because the taller individual had kicked him either.
It was like... Something was off about Gear... But he had no idea what.
