The Calanthe Ghost, named after her mansion known for its acclaimed orchid garden, has only been spotted by a few who have dared stepped on the mansion's haunted grounds. She is described to be average height and nearly emaciated weight-wise. Her skin is so pale it's nearly a glowing-white which gives her the ghostly appearance she's known for. Her plum-colored hair and clothing are said to be immaculately neat and free of dust or dirt.
If one is lucky enough to see her up close, they'd describe her to appear to be a half-japanese woman in her early twenties. She dresses in an indigo old-style dress tied around the neck with a periwinkle bow. Her face is completely drained of blood, causing her too look near-death and sickly. The look in her eyes is best described as lifeless and blank, the only visible part of her eye being a desaturated red color. It is not known if she appears to be semi-transparent or not when up close, but the air around her is said to harshly drop in temperature.

"Are you the one I seek?"
Not many have encountered The Calanthe Ghost and have stayed in her presence long enough to report any kind of personality. Those who have, however, have all described her as being an extremely melancholic spirit. When intruding upon her home, she will usually appear to those who are alone and ask an array of strange questions and utter bizarre phrases.
"The flowers... they are so thirsty."
She appears to be a solemn being, and has been known to circle around her mansion aimlessly while talking to herself. It is unknown why she does this or, in fact, if she's even a ghost. All that is known for sure is that she definitely shows the same behavior one would expect from a lost soul. Aimless wandering, the ability to appear beside someone that summons her while within her domain, and the cold and strange air that surrounds her. The Calanthe Ghost is also said to smell of orchids, but that could just be because her home is surrounded by flourishing gardens.
"Are you lost?"
If The Calanthe Ghost is broken from her trance, she seems to reach a level of consciousness where she is able of speaking to those who are in need of help. She has a mysterious way of communicating with others, and at times seems to attempt analyzing them on a psychological level while inquiring if they are in need of her help.
"It's only a coincidence."
Strangely, people say that there is a fortune teller who owns a flower shop in Odaiba who's name is 'Calanthe', however she doesn't look as nearly ghostly as the Orchid Lady does. If asked about it, the shopkeep will simply say that it's nothing but a coincidence, even though the woman shares her rumored morose and cryptic personality. Many times this 'Calanthe' woman can be seen around Odaiba, usually peeking out from corners and smiling gently at others. For those who do not know what The Calanthe Ghost looks like, she'd probably strike some one as nothing but an ordinary woman.
HISTOяY.
The Calanthe [pronounced: kuh-lan-thee] Mansion's original name was Ebine, the japanese word for the genus of orchids. It was founded in the early 1900s by a vanilla cultivator who found that the soil in the Japanese woods where it was built was perfectly suited for growing the popular extract. The small housing was made from the wood's timber and placed right beside a lake responsible for keeping the fertile soil fresh. What began as a plantation soon became an ideal living location and many were interested in purchasing the land. The cultivator sold Ebine to a wealthy Japanese family who transformed it into a beautiful three-story mansion.
Upon the cultivator's request, the family still continued to grow the orchids used to harvest vanilla extract in a garden that surrounded the mansion. The wealthy family earned a generous sum of money from their farming, and continued to live there for many generations. Everything was going well for the family, at least until the early 1960's when prices for vanilla dropped dramatically. The family eventually went bankrupt and were evicted from their precious mansion, leaving it to rot for the next one-hundred years in the middle of the forest. One of the heiresses to the mansion had become so distraught that she was being forced from her beautiful home, she hung herself from a tree that stood over their garden.
Strangely, without ownership, the garden continued to flourish and grow as if it had been taken care of. Many figured that it had been because of the soil, but that wouldn't explain away how weeds appeared to be kept from growing. The strange thing about this was that despite the perfect state of the garden, the mansion was left unattended to. Many think that the heiress who had hung herself above the orchids is somehow protecting them.
The mansion is a hot-spot for thrill-seekers and paranormal investigators who are interested in finding evidence of a life after death. Not many can bring themselves to stay more than a few hours, however, saying that something about the smell of orchids grows too strong for them to handle. Those who go inside report hearing the faint sound of old music and humming that echos throughout the building.
