APPEARANCE.
The form Honey (or Hon, a sort of nickname she's acquired) takes while human reflects her digimon body quite well. While her pride wouldn't allow her to be short--she's five foot seven while human--she's quite slim, which makes her seem smaller than she is. Her hair and eyes are a dusty yellow, a slightly toned-down version of her bight yellow bee form. Hon's hair is short except for two long strands that come together in a braid at her collar. Her skin is just the right shade of light tan for her 'cultural background' (if she had one) to be unclear.
Honey's black bee stripes become a dark hoodie that frames her face, though she'll sometimes pull the hood back and don a white coat. She'll never wear white while she's with other Herders, though. Hon usually wears loose black pants or jeans. She didn't want to integrate wings, claws, or her stinger into her human appearance because she finds those aspects of herself ugly.
PERSONALITY.
Honey is, at first glance, a complete pushover--flighty and gullible, not at all intelligent. This first impression couldn't be further from the truth. She's actually quite calculating, considering each action before she moves; especially when interacting with people. Every word she says has a carefully placed meaning behind it, though she's slightly more relaxed around the Herders.
She's in love with the human world: the sights, smells, glitter and glitz are better than a dream to her, and she spends as much time as possible there. She enjoys window-shopping, club-hopping, anything that's exciting and new compared to the drab Digiworld. She's a shameless flirt around human men, but she prefers not to interact at all with male digimon (the exceptions being her fellow Herders or very young digimon).
Around children her demeanor drips with sickly sweetness, like candied honey. Her voice is so sugared that it's almost condescending, especially in the way she gives everyone she meets pet names--'sweetness', 'sugarpie', 'lollipop', the list goes on. There's no sarcasm detectable in her voice, though, so she might be entirely sincere. Or, of course, she could be lying through her teeth.
HISTORY.
The little Leafmon was quiet and happy, just as any baby digimon should be. She knew nothing of humans, or even of any digimon beyond her tiny circle of fellow Leafmon. She was as content as she could be, satisfied with her lot and neither wanting nor expecting anything more. Her existence was happy and the time spent in it was immaterial: she was with friends, she was playing, everything was good.
Then all that peace, all that childish joy--all of it came crashing to a halt because she wasn't special enough. The difference between Leafmon and her friends became clear as they digivolved into Minomon.. she didn't have a human child to wait for, to nurture and care for, while nearly all of her friends did. She was an outcast. She wanted to prove them all wrong, tried to find a human that she could rightfully call hers but it was no use. She just wasn't meant to be a partner. It made her angry, and it made her sad, but anger was the emotion she acted on. It wasn't a good decision or a smart decision, but Minomon was desperate.
Besides, one Minomon looks the same as any other, right? A silly little human wouldn't notice if his partner had a sudden change in attitude, right? And he certainly wouldn't suspect that such a demure little digimon would be capable of killing, absorbing and replacing one if its fellows, right? Wrong. Wrong on all accounts. When the little boy's digivice stopped glowing, he knew something was up. The child's suspicion was raised further when his Minomon didn't want to come with him to the human world. And when she didn't digivolve, even when he was attacked by a larger digimon. And when she vehemently refused to let the boy meet her digimon friends.
The child left her, and she was an outcast again. A miserable, lonely, unloved thing--but she took solace in anger, and anger gave her pride. When she at last digivolved into Kunemon (after training and absorbing the data of the occasional digimon), she knew what her purpose was. She was going to, simply put, love everyone to death. That is, she'd find lonely digimon like herself and put them out of their misery. What set her apart from the average murderous digimon, however, is that she'd show her fellow misfits love and kindness, quickly gaining their trust... and then, when they were the most happy and hopeful they'd ever been, she'd kill them and absorb the data. It was a good cause, and it brought her joy. After all, isn't it better to die knowing that someone loved you? That way, they'd never be disappointed again.
She pulled this scam with many a scared, lonely digimon and was able to digivolve into Honeybeemon very quickly. She continued 'fulfilling her purpose' even then, seemingly content to carry out the same scenario again and again for the rest of her days. Heck, there were even legends about her! What more could she possibly want? As it turns out, so much more. She didn't hesitate to accept a position as Shepherd when she was approached by the Harvesters, and she nearly tripped over herself to join the Herder group. After all, why would she waste her love on needy digimon when there were humans to be found?
