This wasn't earth, no, it certainly wasn't. The smell of the air, it all seemed so fake, actually it was all really real, but because he now knew that this world was Digital...he couldn't shake the feeling that this was all just a dream, or some very realistic game. That was kind of what it was, wasn't it? He honestly couldn't fathom the idea of another world other than earth actually being real. So, of course the young english boy, decided that what ever happened, what ever lived here, was not real, and more of a tool for his bidding. Why not, after all, that was why Trevor wanted one in the first place. Or, that was what he kept telling himself. In reality, the boy wanted to buy a Digital Partner, because he desperatly knew he was special. The fact that "destiny" chooses certain people to be special and take on a Partner was stupid. Destiny doesn't choose you, in Trevor's mind, you choose your own destiny, and THAT was exactly what he was doing. The boy was certainly more special than all of those fools who he had seen with a Digimon. Irene, came to mind, because she was the one who introduced him to these creatures anyway. Whatever happened when he bought a Digimon, would be her fault to begin with. The boy moved through the A.I.R. camp, and peerd into one of the cages curiously. They seemed to life like it was fake, whoever invented this place certainly needed to work on their graphics. Whatever the creature was, blinked back at him with lively eyes, perhaps programmed to behave like that, while others seemed more vicious. The boy didn't was just any creature, it had to be small, easy to hide in the real world, like Irene's. It had to blend in as well, at least look like a normal animal, and more importantly, it had to obey Trevor well, and act kindly towards him. He didn't want any stupid Digimon thinking it was better than him. The boy continued to walk through the area filled with cages, frowning slightly as he passed a few. Was there not one that could fit was he desired? Again the boy's vision entered into yet another cage, looking more close this time. What could be in here?

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are Terriermon had been having a hard time adjusting to her 'new life'. Still she cowered in the corner of her cage. Still she found herself frightened out of her wits at every passing stare. The humans fed her, but they hardly did much else... Life inside the cage at the AIR Camp was safe, in a way, she didn't have to worry about predators eating her up in the middle of the night. And yet, she missed being able to run around freely. The people here didn't allow her to step out of her confined wall of metal bars for even a minute, in the end, her desire was simple. Terriermon wanted to be free again, even if that meant having to be the prey of the bigger digimon. It would all be worth it, if only she could be in the wild of her world again...
"Oh no!" Footsteps! Someone was approaching.
In all her days in her lonely cage, the rabbit-eared digimon had made the most efforts keeping herself hidden from human eyes. That wasn't always easy, well, it was actually quite impossible given that her cage was pretty much bare on the inside. The best she could do was remain in her corner, her ears hanging down from her sides to in front of her. Terriermon sat quietly, her ears comforting her as a safety blanket as she squeezed her eyes shut in the hopes that she would not have to catch the glare of some mean human looking in at her.

The cage, was relatively empty, in fact, the boy didn't really see anything of particular interest at first glance. He thought it was empty at first, cursing at himself inwardly for looking stupid and looking into an already empty cage. Well, fine then, for a moment there he almost got excited. Why though? He wasn't quite sure, these were just tools of destruction made out of data, and he...wanted one. Because everyone else got to be special, for some strange reason, why shouldn't someone who deserved that title, be special as well? He turned his face from the cage, and ever so slowly, began to walk away from the cage. Then...Trevor stopped, his usually blank expression grew into a deep glare, and his lips curled into a smirk. What did he spy at the corner of his little eye? It seemed the cage wasn't as empty as he thought it was, after all. Quickly Trevor turned back to the cage, and glared once again into it, examining the very corners of the cage. Sure enough, his vision came across something that looked quite living, and certainly wasn't an animal of any sort. It had to be one of those monsters that were for sale here after all. "There you are," sneered the boy, voice dripping with extreme unfriendliness. What did this creature think it was doing, hiding itself in the very corner of the cage, did it think Trevor wasn't smart enough to find out that it was hiding? The smirk stayed on his face, stupid creature. At least it could talk though, at least that was a step up from being an animal. Impatience got the better of him and he glared demandingly at the creature "Well, come on over here then!" he sniffed a little and frowned, almost tempted to extend a hand inside the cage, but of course, he knew better than that " What are you ? A Bunny or something?" something about this creature reminded Trevor of a plushie he used to own when he thought his adoptive parents still loved him. The stuffed animal was a small floppy rabbit, with a purple underbelly and purple paws. Very different from this monster, but still relatively the same, which made Trevor's interest grow even stronger for this...thing. Not that he cared for either this monster, or his stuffed animal he used to own, simply because...he could probably tell people who questioned, that this thing really was just a stuffed animal.

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are Terriermon’s ears shifted in the slightest of ways. She peered past them, her round blue eyes peeking over at the human outside her cage. What did he want with her? Usually, they didn’t stare into her cage for as long as this human was. Usually, they scoffed and turned away, in search of stronger digimon. No one ever wanted a weak, little, fluffy digimon. In that, she was lucky, and happy. Terriermon didn’t want to be used as a weapon, so perhaps her cute and fragile appearance had been an advantage... until now. The nearby human had yet to turn away...
Then he spoke, saying something that caused the long-eared digimon to shake and shiver with anxiety. Well, it wasn’t what he said, rather it was the way he had spoken to her. Terriermon had already been scared, that much was obvious, but the unfriendly tone in his voice certainly made her wish she was elsewhere to even greater lengths than before. In here, she was trapped, unable to flee from this unfamiliar creature.
When he began to shout at her, the little digimon let out a gasp. If only she could melt into the back of her cage. For a human, the boy was somewhat small, but when he spoke, it made her nervous. He was mean for such a little person, he had a scariness about him that made her want to hide behind her ears once more. Cowering was the only thing she could do right.
Instead, Terriermon gulped, hoping to swallow her fears. ”I—I’m T—Terriermon...” she still had not moved from her corner, yet she closed her eyes tight after speaking. She seemed to flinch as well, it was as if she was expecting someone to hit her just for talking.

Well fine then, perhaps this stupid little creature couldn't talk after all. He didn't want a pet, or something that couldn't talk. He wanted something that could communicate with him and other beings, something that was smart enough to actually be independent. Something he himself could rely on. The image of the ugly pink doll he met in the park made Trevor's green eyes light up seemingly as he thought of how it could speak. It wasn't his, but he wanted it, he wanted something like that, no matter how stupid it was, it was still with a human-like, it had a mind of it's own. More importantly though, the boy wanted something that had all those traits, but was still more attractive as well , so he could at least...LOOK at the creature. A smirk appeared on his face, he could say or think anything he wanted about that "Tokomon", it wasn't here to defend itself anyway. It didn't matter though, because either way this boy tended to speak his mind, infront or away from the person. Then as Trevor was about to leave once more a voice piped up from the cage, forcing his legs to stop. What had it said? Or rather, what did she say? It sounded like a girl, after all. "Terriermon?" echoed he, tilting his head to the side as though he hadn't heard her, or she said something peculiar. The image of a ridiculous small dog appear3ed in his head, yapping wildly and nipping at his ankles, that was a Terrier to him, this wasn't at all dog looking, he thought of it more as a rabbit, or ball-like creature. "That's what you said right? I couldn't hear you over all that stuttering," he liked this creature already, to be completely honest. She seemed, scared of him, and that was more than he could ask for, a creature who feared him, something that would...obey him. "My name is Trevor, Trevor Littettil." he nodded, and pointed a finger at himself "and honestly, there is no point in stuttering, It's not like anyone is going to hurt you, right? You're the one with the powers." of course he wanted this creature to think like that, if he chose it, he wouldn't want some nasty coward being owned by him. Waste of his own money that would certainly be, however, other that that she seemed to be exactly what he was looking for. A smirk grew onto his face, whether she liked it or not, he figured, which only made Trevor have a sick thrill of pleasure. "Of course,if you were bought. That person would be the boss of you, wouldn't they?"

Scrrrr
It seemed to be clock work, same time, everyday came that familar screech of metal scraping across the stone floor. Numerous scratches marred the floor of the PawnChessmon's cage, keeping a record of every day she had been confined to this retched place. At this point it was the only way for the tiny mechanical knight to keep track of the days. If she didn't count them, every day would just seem to blend into the other. It was just about the only misery she could spare herself in these walls.
Alas though, her miseries were many, and not just confined to the ones directly linked to her cage, and for her seemed even worse, though she certainly wasn't happy about her situation here in itself. Most on her mind though, was learning she wasn't quite as important among the black Chessmon army as she had believed herself to be. Fallen in battle, she expected her comrades to search behind every rock and tree for her. But no... They won the war, a celebrated. Didn't even know she was missing. Probably still didn't know she was missing.
Then footsteps were heard entering the room where she and numerous other digimon were held. PawnChessmon didn't bother looking up, assuming it to be just another AIR member coming in. However, it soon became apparent that it wasn't an AIR member. It was a customer. A young one at that. In regards to actually being sold, PawnChessmon was torn. She was no slave, she was a proud soldier of the Black Chess army. Being forced to serve some selfish human was among the least of her desires.
What she desired even less though, was to remain in this cage another day longer. The only way she'd likely ever get out of here was to be bought. Getting up, she got as close to the bars of her cage as she dared to be. The human looked young, though she didn't know enough about humans to determine their exact age from looking at them. Currently it seemed to taken an interest in Terriermon. She waited curiously for her prison-mate to respond, but alas, she was scared. Barely managed to speak out her own name.
Pawnchessmon's eyes narrowed behind her visor. In all honesty, she expected the boy to turn away. He certainly was not the showman for sympathy. More like ignorance really. Still his interest remained glued to Terriermon, and those hungry eyes were the eyes of a bully. Maybe I could save the poor scrap from this kid. PawnChessmon thought. She wasn't too eager to be bought by this particular human either, but she'd fare far better with him than Terriermon would. She wasn't too happy about the prospect, but she still had her honor and she was bound to protect the weak and defenseless, and this was her only chance for that while behind these iron bars.
"Right, because our powers mean so much here! We're only hanging out in these cages because it's fun." PawnChessmon spoke up, her tone oozing with the blatant sarcasm she was well known for. "Come now, you don't want to waste your money on that scrap of fur! She'll be too scared to do anything for yeh!" She said harshly. Of course she didn't really mean to insult Terriermon, but she had to convince this kid she wasn't what he wanted.
"What you want is a soldier! Brave and fearless!" She went on, banging the butt of her spear on the floor, sounding more like an advertisement than anything else. "Also, yeah. Pretty much. Once the bond is made we can't get too far away from our master, nor let any harm come to them." She explained, when he brought up the question of being boss of them. Of course, it didn't mean much beyond protecting them and staying close to them, but she wasn't about to tell this kid that.

His interest in the rabbit was ever so quickly fading as quickly as the interest had come. He found her...its timid nature so, discouraging. Fool. He wanted something brave, not something that could hardly speak. Granted the boy was certainly glad that the what ever it was was afraid of him, but, Trevor was looking for something more to protect him, and yet at the same time, have less power than he did. Stupid animal. He wasn't even sure why she bothered with the rabbit to begin with. He even thought that the fat pink blob known as Tokomon might have been better than this pathetic waste of space. A smirk appeared on his face as he glared down at the scrap of data, breathing in the strange air that surrounded him. "What?" he asked, the smirk never failing to grow larger with every word that slithered out of Trevor's throat "Still ever quiet? It's such a shame. No wonder no one has bothered trying to buy you yet." he paused and shook his head dramatically "You're useless, no doubt, can't even speak for yourself. Here I was expecting a monster. That's what you are, yes? A "digital monster?" He used his fingers to emphasize the name, voice dripping with cruelty and sarcasm "Yes. Pity. Though I suppose there can be SOME use of you. After all, I'd certainly like to see you put into one of the other cages, you know, with real monsters." Again Trevor paused, not expecting for the Digimon to speak for itself once more, he then continued on his rant "If this place works the same way pets stores do, they could stick you in a snake cage. I do love to watch the mice get eaten. Quite the show."If this thing is just Data or just a person, then Trevor would have no problem watching the twitchy thing die by the powerful jaws of something else. At the same time, the voice of a certain girl entered his head, thinking about how she said that these Digital Monsters were like humans. Rubbish. If it looked like a duck, it was a duck to Trevor, in other words, if it looks human it is human, if it looks animal...well it's just some mangy stupid animal. Not like they really had a difference in his eyes in the end. Animals...humans....in the end Trevor would use, kick and step on animals, digital monsters and humans a like. They deserved it. There was no no good or use in keeping them, to make them his companions. The boy's sneer twisted into a cruel smirk, and he was about to continue when a voice made him turn, followed by the stamping of some sort of object. He whirled around to tell it to shut up, for Trevor was already talking. Stupid rude, what-ever-was, couldn't it see he was busy? Trevor's eyes narrowed thoughtfully at the black armored thing, observing it's attire. It didn't look like an animal, but it certainly wasn't human. The heartless boy had assumed that those monsters were supposed to be animals, but looking at this thing he was certainly wrong. This was an armored creature, it almost looked like a toy as well, but at the same time, a soldier. This monster would have been instantly bought by the boy, however, he frowned a little inwardly. Just like the purple rabbit thing, it was probably female. Females, as a rule, were not as skilled, and all around stupider than the male gender. Well that explained why this stupid monster thought it was okay to speak to him and interrupt his conversation. All females thought they could just babble away, not a care about what they say. Even that Irene girl did, though she was more quiet. That just frustrated Trevor more though. "What you want is a soldier! Brave and fearless!" Trevor rolled his eyes at the ugly black soldier, but found himself inching closer towards the little toy soldier's cage instead. "Really now?" Trevor asked, faking interest into the talking toy. "Come on then," he demanded "Tell me," again Trevor paused, looking over the female. Her "armor" really looked like a fashion nightmare, not that Trevor cared much for fashion, but it looked like a nightmare to him, anyway. Honestly he could hardly look at the space of data, well, he supposed he would HAVE to get used to it eventually. No matter how ugly she was. "Why should I take you?" he bit his lower lip. Granted, the girl chess-toy soldier thing mentioned he could boss her around, but that wasn't enough. He needed more than just that. "You look like a loss chess piece. Such a shame that no doubt." his expression was that of fake pity, but his voice was as cruel as always. "What do you call yourself?" he paused, thinking over his last few questions. She certainly had better answer all of his questions. Already Over by - RED

What a monster. She thought bitterly as the kid talked about feeder mice. She didn't flinch in the slightest though, she was a soldier. She may be a captured soldier, but she was a soldier nonetheless, and soldiers didn't lose focus for anything. She wasn't about to change that right now, especially not for this twisted little human. This was for honor right? Sacrifice herself so the others wouldn't face the enemy's wrath. Such an act was the highest honor for any pawnchessmon.
Of course though, the kid had to question just why he should take her. Before, she could even come up with an answer though, he added something else. Something that struck the most painful chord he could have ever stumbled upon. Lost Chess piece... While her visor hid her facial expression, the ensuing silence and her body language made it to clear that was shaken by the remark. Damn it all... Of everything he could have said, why did he have to say that?
She recovered herself eventually though. This was a mission. A mission that she could not allow to fail. Not now. Not while she had a chance here. "Well what are you looking for? A useless pet, or someone who can actually protect you? I was born to fight. You won't find anyone else here who could actually deal with whatever threatens you." Her head then turned to the other caged digimon. "I mean... Come on, look what else there is. You got a paranoid insect, a flightless bird and... Well I doubt it needs to be said how ridiculous you'd look with an obnoxious pink flower sprout following you around."
"It's PawnChessmon." She said, answering his final question. It was his turn now. Would he be convinced, or would she be stuck in this dark lonely cell while someone else was doomed to be forever in this demon child's presence? It was all up to him.
