APPEARANCE.
If one thing can be said of Ryusuke, it is that he does not blend in well. Less than five feet tall and standing at 4' 9", his size along would have been enough to stand out from the crowd were it not also for his unusual eye and hair color, both inherited from his mother, as well as the prosthetics he's carried since the age of ten, although only the one for his right arm is readily visible. On top of those features he also tends to wear his hair rather long, either braiding it or tying it back to keep it out of the way during club activities, one of the few aspects of a social life he readily takes part in.
Physically, Ryusuke is a very well conditioned individual for both his age and build, and he would be better described as having a compact build rather than a diminutive one. His body is heavily muscled thanks to the one club he joined, although his choice in clothing, actually meant to hide his prosthetics as much as possible, also tends to conceal this fact as well. When in the real world Ryusuke wears a variety of clothing, mostly consisting of simple long sleeved clothing in public while ocassionally wearing a black tank top in the company of close friends or his father. When transported to the digital world his clothes take on a slightly more flamboyant look, sporting black pants and shoes akin to combat boots, a black shirt with white trim over a black tank top and a crimson colored long coat with a hood.
PERSONALITY.
Over the course of his short life Ryusuke has undergone a number of different changes to his personality, mostly the result of external stimuli. While extremely inquisitive and enthusiastic during his early childhood it soon gave way to a defiant and self reliant nature as he became the target of school wide ostracism, although this would also fade within the next year and a half to produce a balanced mix of the two sets of personality traits by the age of nine.
Mostly self reliant by then and with the inquisitive nature and enthusiasm that had driven him earlier now returning but this time with the drive to stand up for himself, Ryusuke remained both driven but happy in the following year until his mother's death in the same car accident that took both his right arm and left leg. While drawn into a deep depression for a matter of months during both the grieving and rehabilitation process, Ryusuke would emerge from the dark period changed, but for the better.
Rather than let the accident drag him down, Ryusuke's personality was further strengthened by the fact he knew he was lucky to be alive. By the time he had turned 15 his metamorphasis was complete - while still retaining the intelligence from his early childhood years, Ryusuke had become a self reliant, daring individual, taking risks when he felt them necessary and even when not, a trait even further fueled by the motivational drive he'd acquired earlier in his life, making him particularly stubborn and difficult to persuade even with logical arguments once he sets his sights on a particular goal.
HISTORY.
hometown; Odaiba, Japan
family members;
Father: Kamiya "Tai" Taichi
Mother: Saito Naomi [deceased]
As a child Ryusuke was incredibly inquisitive, showing an inborn intelligence from an early age that was quickly noticed by both teachers and fellow students alike, which while normally not particularly attention drawing on its own quickly made him the target of ostracism when combined with his hair and eye color, along with the fact that he didn't seem to partake in any club or other socially acceptable activities. By the time he had reached the age of 7 it had come to outright physical confrontation, and what had been something of an enthusiastic but inquisitive nature quickly turned into one of defiance and self reliance, with Ryusuke finally joining the martial arts club in the hopes of learning a means of self defense.
Highly encouraged by his natural ability despite his size, Ryusuke excelled with his studies in the club, quickly becoming one of the top students due to both his quick speed and the ability to improvise quickly when needed. As he became less and less of a social outcast thanks in part to both having found a group that accepted him as well as having gained the ability to fend off the few physical attacks that came his way, Ryusuke was actually happy for a short time, although this would be a short lived period.
A year later he and his mother would be involved in a car accident that both took the life of his mother as well as his limbs, completely severing his right arm from the shoulder down and crushing his left leg from the knee down. Bleeding heavily and unable to locate his arm for possible reattachment, the medics were forced to amputate the remains of his lower left leg to stop the bleeding, with Ryusuke still nearly dieing despite numerous blood transfusions. Comatose for two days after the collision, Ryusuke found himself without a mother when he awoke, and for months afterwards he was drawn into a deep state of depression, with only the rehabilitation process saving him from complete dispair. By the time he had reached the age of eleven and a half Ryusuke had managed to pull himself loose from his depression, focusing on what good had come from it - for starters, he was alive when he had no right to be, nevermind retaining full functionality in day to day life despite the loss of his limbs. And then there was the fact that he still had his father, whom he'd grown much closer to in the months since the death of his mother.
Realizing that life was simply what you made of it and that everyone's time was limited in one way or another, be it by age, chance or otherwise, Ryusuke decided he'd simply make the most he could of the time he had, viewing it as a second chance. Returning to normal classes nearly 20 months after the accident, Ryusuke delved back into life with a drive rarely seen in people his age, resuming his place as the martial arts club's best student as well as climbing to stand near the top of the student rankings, positions he managed to maintain despite (or due to_ his rather stubborn attitude. Having gone through the flames and refusing to be consumed by them, Ryusuke had become an excellent example of one's drive to survive and obtain happiness by the age of fifteen, having found a balance to his life that most people don't find without years of searching.

Laying prone on a slope slighty uphill from the others, Eric reached up to make a minute adjustment on the scope of his rifle, zooming even further in as the mission's commanding officer removed his helmet, which while not usually a smart idea in enemy territory was something that Eric himself could understand. Focusing on the structure through the rifle, he marvelled again at the ease with which he'd gotten used to the new armor they were testing - in several ways it reminded him of the ECAS armor he'd used previous to it, but with a few more bells and whistles. Either way, it went hand in hand with his current skillset, which explained why he'd been picked for the assignment, although he only cared about that as much as most men with something shiny and new did. As it was he would never had been able to make out a target from such a distance before without the suit's helmet even further magnifying the image from his rifle's smart linked scope, which while a feature of the ECAS's HUD wasn't nearly as dedicated to the purpose as the Deadkey suit was. Still, even with his sharpshooter rating he wouldn't have been comfortable with taking a shot at that range - while the Python was one of the better sniper rifles available to Alliance infantry, it lacked the sheer punch or range of the Zeller at the cost of maneuverability and speed, something he'd been told would be crucial for this assignment and had so far proven true. While it was still far too distant for him to be able to take an accurate shot at the motes of movement in his scope and around the building, that wasn't to say he couldn't identify what was where. While the sensor suite on top of the structure wouldn't be an issue so long as they kept their suits sealed once in range, the guards patrolling the perimeter were a different story - the suits merely erased their sensor signatures, but that didn't make them invisible nor immune to more old fashioned means of detection such as security cameras, motion trackers or pressure sensors. Zooming out and collapsing the rifle before replacing it on his back, Eric pulled himself up onto his feet and slid down the short slope as Captain Hyu spoke, the Lieutenant replying in turn before looking through the scope of her own rifle.
"Not to spoil the fun or anything, but we're only invisible to their thermal and infrared, right? Do we go in quiet and plant the explosives first, or deal with the guards first, and what's the plan if they have cameras all over the place?" Eric asked, taking a few steps forward to place himself near the others but otherwise keeping his distance. While he'd more likely be on Charlie team due to his demolitions training and could probably figure out a way into the building without alerting the guards through direct contact, that still left the rather awkward notion of internal security which could make things extremely messy if not dealt with beforehand, and out of the Mattock, Phalanx, Python and SSG-42, only the last was silenced. While it was doubtful that the pirate's actually had any kind of tech along those lines, he'd learned long ago that it was generally better safe than sorry.
