More than anything Danny would be described as relaxed, although that single word does him little justice, but then again apathy is not at all the word to describe the man. If confronted with the question himself, the most likely response one would get would probably be "I just go with the flow" - over the years, the saying has become something of a catch phrase to him, with Danny known to have quoted it for any problem where time was not of the essence, and even sometimes when it was. As such he remains a stout believer in the idea that rushing or forcing anything along the path to a desired outcome is usually a bad idea.
That is not to say, however, that Danny would be unwilling to fight for something he does want or believe in - the trick is, however, he'd rarely do it in a direct way. Despite his rather humble origins the man is very intelligent, and not above resorting to trickery and subterfuge to get what he wants of needs. Having been forced to rely on street smarts more than anything when he grew up and having dealt with the violence that came with growing up in the inner city, Danny abhors violence... usually.
On the lighter side of things, however, Danny has not lost his sense of humor despite the bad hand he was dealt in life, even though that sense of humor is what others may considered wry, dry, ocassionally strange and sometimes downright bizarre. The michievous streak he had as a child also returned somewhat with the other minor personality changes resulting from the suppression of much of his memory, although his age, experience and what's left of his latent memories often means his mischievous side is held in check most of the time. Contrary to his usual relaxed demeanor, Danny can be competitive beyond all reason if repeatedly provoked, though, and the bullheadedness he showed as a child will also begin to show through in such cases.
Friends: Having constantly been on the move for most of his life since graduating high school and having travelled across a continent and the world's largest ocean twice, it could be said that Danny both has no friends while at the same time having them everywhere. To be clear, the distinction is more or less one of friendly business associates and that of true friends, people who Danny would never turn his back on, and who he would never keep track of who owes who favors. While Danny has business associates or people who otherwise owe him favors in what at times might seem the most unlikely of places, that was his life back in the USA - while he does have a handful of people who still owe him in Japan, he can count them all on both hands and still have a finger or two left. True friends, though, are an entirely different matter - there were only four or five people in the entire world who Danny would consider to be actual friends, and to him they may as well be siblings, people he would do anything for if they merely asked him to. While difficult for someone to place themselves in this category, Danny knows full well that he is truely alone for the first time since he could remember after arriving in Japan, and he is always looking for people he can rely on. To him age and gender mean nothing - only the ability to stand by your word and live by what he might consider an honerable creed matter, for they were the only things he could count on in the past.
Enemies: First and foremost, AIR, although Danny is still unaware of both their existance beyond an obscure branch of the Japanese government as well as their role in his past. Anyone else is merely consequential, with whether or not Danny would consider you to be an enemy depending on the current circumstances more than anything. If you harbor ill will towards him, you wouldn't be considered an enemy until you were in a position to be a threat or acted upon the desire to see him harmed or in an otherwise reduced state. Danny would defend himself as he saw fit, but beyond that the incident would more or less be forgiven.... not, however, forgotten. If an individual or group repeatedly acts as his enemy Danny will eventually come to see them as such from the start of every encounter, and will be much more difficult to deal with from that point on. Finally, rivals - to be frank, unlikely, unless you manage to find and press the few buttons Danny has, and repeatedly at that.
Romance: Similar to Danny's current standing on friends, he currently has no one he would consider a romantic interest. He dated a girl his own age through high school and another woman he grew infatuated with upon returning to New Jersey courtesy of AIR, but neither relationship lasted more than two years. The first one ending as a result of a refusal to commit to anything long term from his first girlfriend and the second relationship ending when Danny left New Jersey for the second time, but in both cases both parties left each other amicably once they realized things just wouldn't work. Despite all outward appearances, however, Daniel is a hopeless romantic, but while he may be extremely committed to whoever he was in a relationship with, he was far from smothering, preferring to give the other person their space unless told otherwise. While he is still quite taken with the overall ideas, any thoughts pertaining to this aspect of his life have since taken a back seat to digging up his own past, although if one made it known they were interested Danny would quite probably listen.
Other: Fairly well aware that the above three categories don't even come close to covering everything, so that's what this section is for. While he is still very much unaware of what his old digivice actually is, figuring it to be little more than a rather old PDA of some sort (having managed to access the clock and other more basic functions after fiddling with it at random), Danny would be extremely interested in other digidestined, or anyone/anything else who showed any sign of possessing knowledge pertaining to the electronic device.
