rules & site guidelines.
general rules.
general rules.
Show respect to all members in any of the site's premises. We aim to make this a welcoming board to all members and failure to comply with this rule will lead to warnings and, eventually, suspension of an account.
No Godmoding or Mary-sues/Gary-sues allowed. Characters that seem to be invincible, always better than others, have hoards of admirers, perfect in any sense of the word, and/or are continuously embellished will not be accepted. If you’re not familiar with these terms, please visit the following sites:Godmoding
Mary Sues
If you would like to ensure that your character is adequate, take the Mary-Sue Test.
Quality in your writing. We're a board that aims to have literate roleplayers. Spelling is definitely required (especially as there is a spell check button just beside the post button). Please, no responses smaller than three paragraphs. Please avoid atrocious grammar and punctuate correctly. IMPORTANT; Unfortunately, if we think that you don't have quite what it takes to participate in a literate roleplay we have the right to decline your application and ask you to try again. If you cannot meet our standards of roleplaying you will be marked with a strike. Three strikes and we'll have to suspend your account.
Posting order & activity. You must post at the VERY LEAST ONCE A WEEK to be considered active. If you are in a thread and you have other members waiting on you they are allowed to skip your turn after waiting three days. It's not fair to keep others waiting on you.
This board is rated 'PG-13'! Cursing is allowed, although don't go over board with it. There will be some dark themes and violence found within roleplay. Roleplaying adult material is against proboards policy and is not allowed - so if you wanna do something like that you're gonna have to take it off the site pDp;
Threads can be notified as private or open. Threads that have no specification in their titles are usually considered open threads in which any player may freely join and post. However, if the thread has {CLOSED} or {PRIVATE} added onto the title, then only invited roleplayers may take part in that thread.
No mini-modding. If you see a problem going on, report it to one of the staff members. Our profiles are conveniently located and linked under the staff list to your left. By the way, if you've gone through the trouble of reading all these rules this is a little easter-egg reward for you. Click the period after this sentence to find it.roleplay guidelines.
Previous relationships with characters are allowed, but they must be applied for in the Character History threads. An OC may not randomly be related to a Canon or another OC unless it has a proper history posted in that characters thread and/or has been allowed by that characters player.
It's adviseable that you keep your character's tracker in your signatures. If someone is curious as to the characters with which they are roleplaying, it'd make for much easier access to have the trackers (which lead to your profiles) available on your signature for practicallity.
Under NO circumstance is a player allowed to kill a character without that consent of the character's player.
The roleplayer must be experienced and active in order to earn a canon character. Applications should be thorough and well thought of.
You get 4 free character slots when joining. If you want another character you must reach 30 pooled in-character posts. There is no limit on how many characters you may play as long as you're active. Be sure to give each character a lot of love.
Create an account for each of your characters. If you’d like to make a character, make an individual account for them. The username of this account should be your character’s first and last name (last name first if the character is japanese). Please note that the application form you use for your character’s profile also requires the PLAYER’S name, so don’t think you can loophole around this rule. If you’re caught with more characters than you’re allowed, expect the most recent ones to be deleted.
The human world is only accessible to humans and the Shepherds. When a human brings their digimon partner back into the human world, they automatically de-digivolve into in-training level [ex. veemon to demiveemon in season 2]. It is possible for a digimon to digivolve in the human world as long as they are well-fed and have plenty of energy.
Concerning digimon partners... There are three methods of receiving a digimon partner depending on your character's ranking. You can have a digimon given to you by choosing a digi-egg, buy a partner from the AIR shop, or have another player play your partner. If your character is a Chosen Heir then the eggs for them are predetermined here, but if they are a regular Digidestined then you will be able to choose the egg. Unfortunately, you don't have any power beyond choosing an egg type for your character. A group of two or three administrators will get together, evaluate your character, and choose a digimon for you that best suits your character's personality and what's available. So say for example in the series, Mimi had Palmon as a partner - who suits her far more than a Mushroomon would have due to Palmon's nature and natural appearance. We really want to see the digimon suit your human character.
You may have another member of the site play your character's partner - be it human or digimon. - However there are some rules for this and some things that you should take into consideration.1. the digimon must be one that is still available on the list.
2. you should probably trust the other person to be active enough to keep up with your posts.
3. if the person is playing your digimon partner then they every right to give up their role if it becomes uncomfortable for them. [remember, they're doing you a favor by playing a part you could be playing yourself.] All that would happen is that you'd have to play the digimon instead.
4. partnerless digimon work differently. You cannot create a human character identical to the other person's unless they willingly give the character to you [and that's probably not going to happen] - you're probably just going to have to play out your digimon like the events between them and their human partner never happened.
5. as you can see, this entire process is a huge gamble. It can be very fun and probably more realistic but you can also lose a lot and it can create a lot of drama. Really, it's your decision.
DIGIMON PARTNERS SHOULD NOT BE TREATED AS A PLOT DEVICE They should be treated as second character and with as much love and work as you put into your human character! Digimon should have at the very least SOME presence in every post, as this IS a DIGIMON roleplay site. However, if the situation would be inappropriate with a digimon present then at least say where the digimon is in one of your posts.PLEASE. WHEN YOU JOIN AND YOUR CHARACTER HAS A DIGIMON PARTNER - HAVE THEM MEET EITHER IN YOUR FIRST POST OR HAVE THEM ALREADY MET. THEY SHOULD ALREADY BE WITH YOUR HUMAN. THANK YOU.
