This was the moment Candlemon knew he would dread. As Pinamon he always knew that eventually he would have to Digivolve into a Rookie level Digimon. Something more powerful, than his evolution before, something that could protect them...but this was something his partner was unprepared for. It wasn't like it was Candlemon's fault though, every Digimon was eventually going to go through transformation, it was only natural. This was something that Candlemon found, his partner greatly disapproved off. The Candlemon ducked in alarm when Barley... or was it Marley? thrust the water out of his water bottle, in direct attempt to put out the flame that simply stared at him with blank blue eyes. As if the water didn't bother it in the slightest. Marley simply glared with disgust, breathing heavily because he had been trying to get away from this monster for a while now. Surely Pinamon was harmless, but now this thing...had it devoured his "friend"? Or had his friend been turned into this animated candle stick. Fine, well, Marley couldn't very well say it was his friend, but at least Pinamon was company, but now... Whatever happened, it was horrible, disgusting, and probably very dangerous. What with all that fire, and staring it did. He wasn't sure what it was going to do now, but it was doing a lot of chasing after him, and trying to "reason" with him. What a load of bull that was. Why should the dark haired man trust the animated Candle? It wasn't like it had been very trust worthy to begin with right? "Barley, please, just listen to me," whimpered the Candlemon, his tone was just barely above a whisper, and Marley had to strain to listen "You are in danger." Bad start. It was all his fault, because now his partner began to laugh, in a strange way, almost as though he were crazy. "You would know that, wouldn't you?" he smirked, though his black eyes in the darkness of that night shone with fear " Candlemon is it?" He asked, the smirk only seemed to stitch even further across his face. The Candlemon's red eyes grew wide, and he let out a breath of hair, as though to hush his partner. The candle knew that the Digidestined was going to go on another one of his paranoid rants, and that...wasn't entirely a good idea right now. After all, even in the darkness, he had the pale dim glow of fire, and all around Candlemon could tell where they were. The Bakemon Church. He had been here many of times, and heard stories, none too pleasant. In fact, he heard an Arkadimon had been lurking around here once before. "Hush?" snapped Marley, and then spoke a little louder, as though to mock Candlemon "Why?" There was an echo, and then he smirked at the burning candle, its face clearly distorted with fear and discomfort. Good. Maybe it will think twice before talking to him again. Though, he had to admit, Candlemon did seem distressed for some reason or other. Everything was terrible here, what was left to fear after what he saw, the little Pinamon being devoured by such a creature as Candlemon. The Candlemon closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, as though thinking hard, while the flame on his head, just stared, unblinkingly at Marley. Then once his red eyes reopened the Candle spoke, making Marley jump, "Well, that's an easy question. See that church?" with one melted hand, Candlemon pointed just a few few away from them, the building that indeed appeared to be a church, "It's a Bakemon Church." When Marley simply gave a fearful gaze, Candlemon chose to continue. "Do you know what Bakemon are? he didn't wait for Marley to respond "Ghosts.". There was a chilling snap in the distance, making Marley leap from his spot, and dive for Candlemon in an instant. The Candlemon whimpered, and yelped out that he was so sorry, for reasons unknown, and Marley wrapped his hand around the monster. Then, slowly lifting himself and his Digimon, he rose the animated candle stick like a normal light. Who was there? Several chills went up Marley's spine, and he swallowed, heart thudding like mad. Why of all places, did he find himself standing in the middle of night, in front of a haunted church. It was just his luck, now wasn't it? Credited to Damon of Gates |
