Haru's mind was about to implode. He had no idea what was going on. What the hell kind of camp was this?! He was pretty sure this hadn't been in the brochure. Last time he checked giant octopus's didn't walk on land. Or talk. Or pick people up. He was just about to pinch himself to make sure that he wasn't dreaming.
He watched Hanako run over and welcome the digimon, only to be picked up and shaken. He really wished he could knock the sense into that boy sometime soon. Why did he have to be such an airhead?! Someone needed to mentally scar that child. Or at least slap him back to reality.
Tomonari's reaction was much smarter than Hanako's. He ran up a tree. Even though he did fall out, he still tried. It was still much better than Hana's idea. And he succeeded in not being picked up and yelled at.
"Best start flappin' them lips of yers an' tell me where my blasted, traitorous crew went! OR I'LL GUT THIS HERE BOY LIKE A FISH N' FEAST ON 'IS INNARDS IN FRONT OF YE!"
Personally Haru wouldn't mind that too much. He was about to say so when he thought better of it. He really wished he had just gone into the woods. It would have made his life so much easier. Forgetting his decision not to say anything, Haru started carelessly flapping his mouth. "Well I can't saw as I would mind that all too much."
He laughed and walked over to the tree Tomonari had gotten that strange device. What had Hanako called it─ a digivice? Well whatever. He got to the tree and leaned against it. "OUCH!" He leapt up and looked behind him. Wedged in the knot of the tree was a device like the one Tomo had just gotten.
He pulled it out and saw it was the same as the one Tomo and Hana had, but with a different colouring. He turned it once and took a look at it. This day couldn't get any worse. "Great and now I have a freaky device too. Why does the universe hate me?"

Hanako smiled happily at the octopus, arms outstretched welcomingly. His guard was completely off, of course, the boy didn't think he really needed to be worried about anything. The good feeling was instantly gone once one of it's slimy tentacles shot forward making him gasp. He didn't have much time to do anything but gasp, though his body was screaming at him to TURN AROUND! RUN AWAY! Quickly, Hanako found his footing on the ground didn't last long and he was held high above Octomon. Poor Hanako probably would have enjoyed himself had he not been in very big trouble at the moment. His whole body flailed in the grasp of Octomon, wanting to find a way to be released from it's grasp. Added with the flailing, it didn't help much that Hanako was being shaken in it's noodle grasp as well, causing Hanako to be shaken even worse, and perhaps getting the whiplash of his life.
Unfortunately for Hanako, during such actions from Octomon, the whistle that was once around his neck, went flying and landed a few feet away from them. Hanako, of course had noticed this terror, and let out a pathetic noise. He began, struggling once more in hopes of escaping, and being able to retrieve the whistle. This of course did not happen, and the teenager fell limp the very moment Octomon spoke in a loud voice, flinching with every rusty Pirate word. He...had to get...to the necklace, that was all his eyes were on currently, or at least it was, until a sword was pressed up against his throat.
"Best start flappin' them lips of yers an' tell me where my blasted, traitorous crew went! OR I'LL GUT THIS HERE BOY LIKE A FISH N' FEAST ON 'IS INNARDS IN FRONT OF YE!"
His whole body stiffened with fear, brown eyes tore of his necklace, and now landed on Hatsuharu. Surely he would help Hanako in his time of need, especially with how dire it really was. He smiled a little, though his lips were having trouble staying up into a smile. There was no need to worry though, right? Haru would help Hanako, he was certain of it. Even more to the horror of Hanako, he chose the wrong person to trust. The blond older boy didn't seem to care, in fact he said something that Hanako didn't catch, and then laughed... rather cruelly Why did no one come to his rescue, why did Hanako find himself alone in this situation? He was about to hang his head, but froze, remembering the blade pressed against the throat. Oh how Hanako wished that Renamon was around at the moment. "I-I'm very sorry," he tried to choke out to the Octomon, "Wouldn't your crew be....at sea?"

As if he shared the same mind as Haru, Tomonari was also thinking that giant, talking, able to live on land octopus was NOT on the camp brochure. He really didn't want to think about this, but the teenager began to think of his mom knew something he didn't about this camp. But that just made no sense! Sending a kid to a camp where giant monsters popped out of nowhere with the intent to act violently wasn't what someone would call a good parenting technique. His eyes remained wide in shock at this scenario, as he could only think of a couple different outcomes. One, this was just a serious misunderstanding that they could talk out, or two, the pirate octopus got utterly sick and tired of them, and just slit each and every one of their throats. Or just walk the plank, but this was highly unlikely.
Obviously though, Tomonari couldn't do anything about Hanako being shaken up rather badly. For one, he wasn't all that strong to begin with, and two, if it was blantly obvious by now, he was a coward. An honest to god coward. Nothing like his father, who was much bigger, and much stronger than Tomonari. It was odd though how he began to think of his father, with whom he never had that great of a relationship with anyways. Maybe it was just the lack of any real reaction that Tomonari had different thoughts going through his head. The tree idea worked well for about... six seconds, but he wasn't going to try again. It would likely result in the boy falling out once more.
Here was a slightly odd, yet lucky, occurence though! From how this octopus was talking, it seemed as though that this was in fact, a misunderstanding. But it couldn't just be THAT simple, right? Tomonari could try and talk to the monster, but if he said the wrong thing, Hanako's life could be taken instantly. He lacked any real social skills that would allow the boy to read someone's face. Rather, that wouldn't matter much, since the octopus only seemed to have eyes. Getting up on his knees, Tomonari sighed worriedly, sweating quite a bit in nervousness. He didn't know why, but he suddenly spoke up, "U-Uum.. e-e-excuse me, m-mister? I th-think there's a-a m-misunderstanding h-here..." Oh yeah, that lack of confidence would TOTALLY get them out of this one.
Looking back at his weird little device, the boy stared at it for some time. However, something was rather off about it. The screen was blinking constantly, along with constant beeps. Confused, Tomonari reached over, and picked up his newly acquired, defy all logic device. Was it broken? He wasn't too sure, but if by some chance this thing got the three boys out of this situation, things could take a turn for the better... or worse. Fate likes to mess with people like that.

OCTOMON. the PROFESSIONAL PIRATE WILD DIGIMON.
[/sup][/center] The cephalopod first scoffed at the blonde one, realizing that he was calling his bluff to do the brunette one in his grasp any harm. However upon closer inspection, something told Octomon that this boy really DIDN'T care... and poor Hanako was actually attempting to reason with him with at least some amount of decency and manners. He wasn't happy about this... he wasn't happy about this at all! If anything, he found himself reminded of his crew's betrayal by Hatsuharu. Well that wouldn't do at all, but he wasn't about to give up his leverage. The beast inched forward, whipping out a tentacle to grip the blonde boy around the legs and promptly swing him off the ground so that he'd be hanging upside down. He was far too blinded by rage to even notice that the boy had just inherited a digivice.
"Well well! Quite a villainous thing to say!" Octomon growled out, wanting to crush him here and now but deciding against it since the other boy was trying to get his attention with sputtered pleas. He did have a soft spot for manners, but it was all thanks to Haru that this situation was getting far more out of hand than it had to.
"As you'd like it, lad!" With that he released Hanako rather cruelly by dropping him on the ground and letting his other tentacle snap around the boy so that he'd be easier for him to snap in half. "Such a scoundrel! Ye'd be just tha type to throw your crew to the depths of the ocean if it meant savin' yer own skin! Why I'd not blame them if they'd let me snap ye in half like the toothpick you be to me!"
He finally turned toward the other two, his barely-visible eyes narrowing at them as he gave them his attention at last. "AT SEA? NO MISUNDERSTANDIN' HERE, BOY. THEY THREW ME TO THIS WASTELAND WIT'OUT WATER TA DRY ME UP. They'd know very well I'd be DAMNED before bein' tossed from our lady Neptune...that'd be the name of our ship.. aye, she's a beaut... "
