The sky was painted a perfect light blue, today unmarred by any hint of those white puffs of cloud that would have promised temporary relief from the bright boiling orb that cast it's rays to earth. In a nutshell, it was a particularly warm day. Okay, scratch that. It was actually a very hot day, but that didn't seem to prevent all that many people from going about the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The speed in which they moved seemed increased however, perhaps to be able to greet the cool, air conditioned interiors of the surrounding shops sooner.
Evan however remained where he was, clutching an iced drink he'd just bought without knowing at all what it was, and lounged out on a bench he had located in the shade. This shade was very kindly provided to him by the fashion store it was pressed up against, and though wasn't the prettiest location, it was at least slightly cooler here, and honestly he didn't feel like heading home just yet (though at the same time wondering why he was still here..most likely because he didn't actually know HOW to get home)
Granted, he would have been in the store had he just not recently been kicked out for pretending to be an employee and giving customers advice (at least the ones that could understand him) in the fitting rooms. It wasn't his fault that he liked to be honest, and that most people looked downright terrible in the stuff they chose. Amazingly he had managed to keep it up for nearly forty minutes before being found out, which in retrospect was probably a good thing, as he had been having such fun that he had nearly completely forgotten about bukamon, whom he had (hopefully) been concealing in his bag. He was still very cautious about having anyone see her, as he was sure that if too many did, the consequences, which in other circumstances didn't give a damn about, might not be favorable to either of them. Despite this he had undone the top part of the bag, to allow her to at least be able to see, and prevent her from getting too overheated in the stifling air probably collecting in there. Now of course, he was bored, and for the past minute or so he had been using a stone he had discovered on the ground to etch his own name into the wood of the bench.
"Ugh. Woy coodn't I have just stayed insoyde today? he grumbled loudly, mostly to himself, attracting a few looks from passers-by. Of course he was also aware there was another set of ears close by that could probably hear him; a fact he was still trying to get used to. Sadly, he knew full well why he was out here rather then at the mall. Instead of being dropped off at the actual, col, air conditioned mall, he had been dropped off at one of those street-side strip malls instead. No doubt his taxi driver had made some sort of annoying assumption with him that this was where he wanted to be. Not that he'd ever admit to this error. He'd just pretend that this was where he'd wanted to be the whole time.
No one post please until Neg does. Thanks! [/sub]

Throughout the entire time that they had been inside that store, Bukamon had been incredibly irritable. Not only was she being ignored and her trainer was being a nuisance to others around him, but it was hot. She had tried punching at him a few times through the bag's interior while he had his rude conversations with customers, but her little flipper did little damage through the container. Being forced to stay inside the little bag for that time would normally not have been a big issue, she kind of liked it normally. But it was so blisteringly hot today, and the confines was nearly unbearable. Well, in the air-conditioned store it was not so bad. But still!!
When the bag had been opened, she did not really even have the energy to attempt scolding Evan (though that probably would have considered of a weak little "you could have been a bit nicer"). Instead, she just basked in the fresh air for a few moments, having to resist the urge to fling herself out of the bag completely. She rolled her head to the side to look at her partner when he spoke, blinking slowly.
"Cuz... cuz you were bored?" she offered. She let out a little whine and wiggled a bit, her eyes going from staring in an almost dazed way at Even to practically burning a hole into his drink. "May I pretty pretty pretty please have a drink too?"
((OOC: Okay now it's safe to post xD Thankies for the wait! <3))

Well that had been the obvious answer, and it didn't make him enjoy being here any more then before, but then again, it WAS most like an improvement to sitting alone in a room. At least he could people watch here, and perhaps at some point figure out a fun new activity to involve random strangers in. With a grumble, he set down the rock, on top of the newly caved "Evan" in the bench, and shifted so that he was facing Bukamon instead, surprisingly with a somewhat guilty expression. He hadn't meant to abandon her, and the mere fact that he was now realizing just how long she had been jammed in the bag was not making him feel any better. As much as he swore he didn't care about others, he disliked the idea that Bukamon might have been more then just a little uncomfortable due to his neglect while he was amusing himself.
"Ahhh," he sighed, brow furrowing somewhat apologetically, something that contrasted oddly with the slight smirk that twitched at the corners of his lips. "Heat got to you, huh?" He spoke softly, as to not attract too much attention; something normally he was almost opposed to. For a moment he considered the mystery drink in his hand, then ever so slowly, nudged it toward the bag, the condensation forming on the outside leaving a wet trail behind it on the wood, then stopped, leaving it a foot or so away from the bag. "....you SHORE you wont this? I mean I don't even know wot the bloody hell it is...Could be quite nasty, yeah?" he trailed off, and shrugged a shoulder, casting her an amused glance at the intense longing she was directing toward the cup.
This moment of teasing hardly lasted long however, and not more then ten seconds in he found he couldn't keep it away any longer. He tried to convince himself it was just because he didn't want anyone dropping dead of thirst and heat exhaustion, particularly in his bag. Letting out another somewhat exaggerated, though totally frustration free sigh, he pushed the thing the rest of the way toward Bukamon, hoping she wouldn't do anything too obvious.
"I suppose I owe it to you, yeah?" he reached out to give her a somewhat playful pod, and tried to look as put out by this as possible, though was having a hard time concealing his trademark smirk. "Con't have you die or anything. Then wot would I do with you? Be a roit mess it would."

Nadia liked the heat. It reminded her of Calcutta. She adjusted her sunglasses with an index finger while the heat glistened over her dark skin. She wore a loose romper, hands jammed into the pockets of the bottom half. It was trendy, as always. More American than Japanese, but she had become more accustomed to dressing like an American anyway. Bright fuchsia and oranges mingled with black patterns that looked Aztec or Native American.
She stopped by a shop and grabbed a bubble tea. Mango, naturally. She sipped it and idled over to the shade of a store that cast its shadow over few benches, away from the bustle of the shoppers. Tokomon was nestled in her messenger bag, likely asleep. Nadia had filled her water bottle with ice and jammed it in for him to keep cool. She spotted an aloof fellow on a bench, carving something in the wood crudely with a rock. Nadia rolled her eyes and picked the bench that was set back-to-back to his regardless.
When she sat, she poked Tokomon in her bag without a word. Then she stuck the end of the straw in an opening discreetly. After a few seconds of silence, she noticed the level of her sweet, cold drink drop. A brief smile tweaked the corners of her mouth when Tokomon nosed the straw away quietly. They hadn't been together long. Looks like he enjoyed mango, though.
Something in her told her to talk to the strange boy behind her, but she brushed the idea away for the time being.

"Yessssssss!!" she let out a whiney wheeze, starting to slip out of the bag to reach her little fins toward the drink. "I'm so thirsty I don't carrrrrre!" Oddly enough, she was smirking a bit like he was, though for her it was more like a grimace despite being slightly upturned.
It was a good thing the teasingly distant drink did not last long and he had decide to slip it closer, because Bukamon was just about to jump out of the bag to retrieve the cold drink. As he had been so kind as to push it closer, however, it did not come to that and she only pulled herself up enough to bite at the straw, taking a nice long drink from what was inside.
Oh how wonderful and cold and delicious and most importantly WET! Where hast thou been oh liquid goddess?

As Bukamon sipped away at the drink, which he now had positioned behind his back just in case a nose or flipper happened to come into view, Evan let his gaze scan the bustling crowd again. Honestly he didn't know what he was looking for, but finding someone that he could actually understand and vice versa would be a terribly nice start. Trust him to stay in a country that speaks a different language without really preparing himself much at all..well nothing really beyond basic phrases. Tearing his eyes away from the people again, he re-focused his attention on his now somewhat more hydrated companion, not having yet noticed that someone else had recently taken a seat right behind him while he'd been people watching in the other direction.
"Not poison or anything else horrible like thot?" he asked amusedly, drawing the cup back to let it rest on his own lap again, and immediately feeling the wet trickles starting to seep through his jeans where it sat. "You'd be qoite an excellent little guinea peg you know." He snickered softly under his breath, though knowing at the same time he'd never actually subject her to something like that, tempting as it would be to always know if something was unbearably nasty before trying it himself. He supposed the drink must have been alright the way his companion had more or less attacked it. He swirled it around a few times in it's little plastic cup, noting vaguely the pinkish tinge starting to form on the back of the hand clutching the cup. Wonderful...a sunburn already. Not that he should have expected any less, wince he was so pale and he had neglected an sunscreen today. Sighing he leaned back on the bench...and found his head more or less RIGHT next to someone else's that surely had not been there before.
"AHH FUCK!" He shouted, pretty much wholly in surprise. Without really meaning too, as it was more on a reflex then anything else, he jerked forward again, and spilled the remaining drink all over his knees. "..fuck it to 'ell.." Honestly he wasn't pissed, no matter what his words might have sounded like. In all actuality he was pleased something had happened, even if it was embarrassment at his own expense. He wiped what he could off his lap, eyes somewhat wider then normal from the shock of the whole episode. Honestly he didn't even know why he had gotten so shocked..other then he hadn't exactly expected there to be a HEAD less then a few inches away from his just then...speaking of which...
He turned, to face the person that he'd nearly crashed heads with just then, while at the same time edging his Bukamon filled back back toward himself. He was hoping dearly that the other person hadn't seen her, as he had been concealing her behind his back the whole time. [/sub]

Nadia was nearly as startled by Evan as he was startled be her. His vulgar exclamation took her aback - he probably didn't realize that she could understand her. Tokomon rustled in her bag at her sharp shift. She realized the boy was staring back at her and Nadia was quiet for a moment. "May I help you?" spoke Nadia in crystal clear English. She kept her sunglasses on, which probably made her seem a little..unapproachable. Not that she particularly cared.
Nadia thought she saw a flash of mauve and orange behind him, but her skeptical look was hidden by her dark lenses. "You are a little out of place, yes?"

"No, but I might die later," she responded, being totally joking but sounding rather casual about it. She gave him a small flippered salute before nestling down back into the bag to relax. Despite her cool attitude she had that sunken feeling in her chest, wondering if what he was saying was true. Was the stuff poisonous? Was she seriously just experimented on? She did not know, she was unsure, but she really hoped that he was just being a smart alack as usual. This was totally and extremely possible, she mentally assured herself. After all, he was like that.
She had started to carefully nose herself up out of the bag once more just a little bit to get a nice big whiff of fresh air when Evan made his loud and sudden shout. She jerked herself back and could not help releasing a sharp squeak. She yanked herself back into the bag and ended up scrapping the side of her head on the side of the bag in her rush. This stung, but it very easily could have been worse. She huddled down, but kept trying to peer out a little, nervous.
There was someone else there, another girl. Bukamon had thought that maybe Evan had let out the shout because of her. She thought that maybe he thought she was too far out of the bag and rather harshly wanted her back in (which rang as wrong to her even in her panic just because of the nature of the entire thing but hey, it is not easy for her to think things all that thoroughly through in a split moment of panic).
She eased herself against the side of the bag as she heard another voice, trying to adjust her view so that she could see this other person. It sounded like a girl! She was not naive enough to believe this, but her inner flags were waving at the idea of Evan finally being able to pull his head far enough out of his butt so that he may make a close friend.
Oooh, the girl was pretty...!

In all honesty he had not been expecting any sort of response beyond a confused or, perhaps even better, somewhat alarmed stare, but the fact that perfectly clear English responded to his outburst took him somewhat by surprise. It was a girl, he could tell that much just by the voice even before he had fully gotten a proper look in her direction. He didn't know how he hadn't seen her approach, as he had been looking for someone that seemed to stand out. While she didn't stand out in an obnoxious way, she still was obviously, even by a quick glance, not a local. His stare thus continued for longer then he intended before he was finally able to respond. For one of the first times too since arriving here, he didn't feel like he would have an issue with her understanding him through his thick, London accent, so he didn't make any attempt to mask it. He leaned against the back of the bench, one arm resting gently on top while he placed his chin on his arm so that he was now looking up at the girl. He decided to ignore the first inquiry about help, because of course he was not about to admit that he was in fact lost.
"Hey laydy!" he suddenly exclaimed, with an almost feral grin, despite sounding alarmingly over-friendly in his greeting."You think I'm ou' of place huh? Wot gave THOT away? Honestly he was kidding, knowing that he hadn't been trying to be inconspicuous at all. If his actions hadn't brought this across, his bright green and black shirt didn't help either.
Thus far though he was glad that she hadn't seemed to notice his companion, though he couldn't actually tell where the girl was looking thanks to the dark shades she sported. The fact he knew the girl was right there now was the only thing that was keeping him from saying anything to Bukamon, and thankfully she was better at keeping a low profile then him, so it was possible nothing had been noticed. Sometimes he wished he was capable of this, though he always seemed to crack way too quickly. Plus he mostly did want the attention, so he supposed he didn't actually try in the first place.
"Anywoy..if I'm ou' of place, wot about you then, hmm?" he noted, still staring casually up at her, one eyebrow slightly raised in question. [/sub]
