APPEARANCE.
Alex is a guy of slightly above average height that is built sort of like a long distance runner. He is skinny with enough muscle, so that he doesn't look like a skeleton. His facial expression makes it seem like he is about to fall asleep in mid-sentence. On occasion, Alex's face will have this sort of irritated expression because he has been forced into the position of making a decision. His hair is put up into a pony tail for two reasons. One, it keeps it out of his face, which is useful in everyday life, and two, it also keeps him from having to spend several minutes trying to fix it up so it looks nice.
When it comes to clothing, Alex is usually seen wearing the exact same type of clothes each day because he does not want to put the effort into finding the latest fashion trend. It also has to do with the fact that Alex is too lazy to actually pick out his own clothes, so his mom just bought the same thing in different colors. His wardrobe consists of pants (colors from brown, blue, and green), t-shirts (single color of either red, blue, green, orange, brown, black or white with the Japanese symbol for dragon, whale, lizard, tiger, deer, wolf or eagle on it respectively), a short sleeve jacket with the Japanese symbol for fire on the back of it, and running shoes.
PERSONALITY.
Alex is someone who does moderately well in school, but don’t mistake him for being one of those super genius types. He just has an excellent memory for someone his age as he can recall pretty much anything that he has ever heard or seen since the time that he started walking, which comes in handy when living in a foreign country. Of course, there is one major flaw with this skill of his, and that is the fact that knowing a certain fact or equation does him no good if he unable to explain it to someone else or utilize it when the circumstances call for it. It means that he has to really apply himself to subjects like math, chemistry and physics in order to keep up his grades in school, but he does enjoy it for the most part.
The only thing that he does dislike about school is trying to make new friends each time he comes to a new one, so he just doesn’t. It isn’t that he doesn’t like being sociable; it is just that he doesn’t like to get close to someone only to have to eventually leave them. He’ll just sit at the back of the room, where he can avoid anyone who might want to talk to them. When someone tries to become his friend, Alex will usually make up a lie to get them to leave him alone, while remembering that he is saving them from despair. Occasionally, there will be someone that is very persistent about getting to know him, so Alex will become irritated by them and eventually yell at them to stop.
Repetitive acts by a person and being woken up in the middle of a good dream are just a few things that can irritate Alex. When he gets irritated, he usually responds in the way that was previously described or by saying things like defects about his or her body or pointing out a flaw in his or her relationship with someone. Alex feels bad about it later, but it just shows that it really is the quiet one’s that you have to look out for. It also shows people just how observant he can be as he takes notice of some of the smallest details about a person such as noting that a girl has a goblin nose or that this one guy’s friends all find him to be extremely obnoxious.
It is probably getting easier to see how Alex can keep himself from getting any friends, but there is another flaw in this aspect of him. Since he has no friends, Alex has no one to motivate him to do things that don’t relate to academics, which means that he either plays video games over the internet or hang out with his brother or cousin when either one is around. Since his arrival to Japan, Alex has started to do outdoor things like hiking, camping and bird watchin.
HISTORY.
hometown; Eufaula, Oklahoma
family members;Father: Jacob Harrison
Mother: Lydia Harrison
Siblings: Ryan Harrison
Other Relatives: Daniel Ashcroft (uncle), Martha Ashcroft (aunt), Janice Ashcroft (cousin)
Alex was born on December 31st, which later on becomes one of his main irritations, to two loving parents, Jacob and Lydia, along with his twin brother, Ryan. He was born in Eufaula, Oklahoma, but his parents moved a year after their sons' births to California due to his father’s job. Alex’s father was a military officer who got a moved to a new base on a frequent basis, and his mother liked to the keep the family together so she had them stay on base with him or in an apartment nearby. This was an okay arrangement while the boys were young, but when they started school it became a strain on them. The two boys both disliked having to leave their friends each time that they moved, but they were still young so their parents didn’t worry about it too much.
By the time that they were ten years old, Alex had moved at grand total of fifteen times, and the locations of these bases were all over the United States which sort of excited Alex’s brother who liked to think of them as mini-vacations with some schoolwork thrown into them. While his brother was enjoying the landmarks, Alex was playing video games, which worried his mother because she thought that he was going to grow up to be one of those guys who worked in a cubicle at a computer and lived in his mother’s basement. Of course, there weren’t many solutions to her dilemma besides forcing him to go outside with his brother, which Alex complied with even though it made him feel like he was being walked like a dog. This appeased his mother for a few years, but as Ryan continued to make friends at the new homes Alex spent less time with him as it made him feel weird to hang out with his brothers friends. His mother couldn’t find any new way of making her son more sociable at school, so Alex turned into one of those intense gamers for a few years.
When their fifteenth birthday rolled around, Ryan was dreaming of becoming a professional athlete, while Alex was leaning towards a career as a librarian. Once his father heard this, Jacob Harrison called his brother Daniel and began negotiating with him on sending the boys to stay with him to finish up their remaining years of high school. There was a deal struck that the boys would be sent over a month before their sophomore year, so they could get acquainted with the city which just happened to be Tokyo, Japan. His uncle was some type of executive in a company that was based there, which meant that Alex and Ryan had around six months to learn Japanese. This was easy for Alex who practically had eidetic memory, so he spent most of the remaining months talking his parents into buying him a new computer which they did.
Their first few months in Tokyo were spent with their cousin Janice and Aunt Martha, who showed them all the important spots that they needed to be aware of like the grocery store, the school, the hospital and the police station. As soon as school started, Alex has soon returned to his old ways of falling asleep in class and not interacting with anyone by playing on his computer. This didn’t last for long as Janice soon ‘persuaded’ him into joining her club for people who love nature club, which consists of Janice, her friends and Alex. Needless to say, he could plainly see that Janice, her mother and his mother had come up with a plan to get Alex a girlfriend that could keep him away from his computer.

Alex stared at his computer while trying to remember what he had planned on doing when he had logged on to the thing in the first place. Nothing came to his head right away, so he began moving his finger toward the power off button when an idea popped into his head. "Oh right. I was going to get a head start on that online quiz for Chemistry." Since he had remembered what he had been planning, Alex wanted to fall asleep. His fingers glided across the keyboard as he began entering the web address for the site that his teacher had given him.
The quizzes were not a hard thing to do as they were multiple choices and the process of deduction could eliminate half of his answers, while common sense would take out the remaining one. Alex breezed through several of the quizzes in an hour’s time, which put him ahead of most everyone else in his class, but when he went to click the submit button for his last quiz a dialog box popped up that said 'ERROR'. This happened several more times, so Alex decided to exit out of the window which didn't happen as the computer froze up. This made him slightly irritated because he had almost been ahead of his class by half a semester before this happened. He clicked the power button on the computer and figured that he could restart it and everything would be okay, so when it had completely shut down Alex tried to turn it on again. It came up with a thing that read 'Reconfiguring Windows 0%'. "Well this is a real drag." At about twenty-five percent completion, Alex began to become drowsy as he was becoming bored. He finally fell asleep at about forty-five percent, which meant that nothing was going to wake him unless it was his favorite food put under his nose. This simple fact could have been demonstrated as a necklace that he had put on a lamp that was positioned above head slipped off and landed on the top of his head.
As Alex slept, the computer screen began emitting a bright blue light that filled the room, and after a few second, Alex along with his necklace was pulled into the computer screen. He awoke several hours later in the middle of a beach with his sand in his mouth. He got up and brushed himself before looking around to see where he was. There was only one thought that came to mind, so he spoke it aloud since no one was around. "Well this isn't my bedroom."
