APPEARANCE.
Genetics is a funny and obscure thing, isn't it? For someone who was born in Japan, whose parents were japanese, and whose grandparents also have been the same, Aizen doesn't look like a japanese at all. In fact, those who do not know him often confuse him for a foreigner, of european descent or something like that. Maybe some time back, waaay back, he had an ancestor from outside the country, and now those genes emerged fully, making him differ from the crowd strikingly.
For starters, it must be noted that Aizen is tall. No, saying that he's tall would be an understatement. He's HUGE. I mean, look at that shoulder, its a bench, not a shoulder, you can sit a person on it comfortably. Standing at 6'7'' tall, he practically dwarfs pretty much anybody he stands next too, especially considering that around here people are scrawny and short. He, on the other hand, is a walking closet. Very strong and fit too, despite the age. People would think twice before even syaing something to him.
His hair is blond, which, again makes him stand out from the average, especially considering all the weird sayings and beliefs others have about blond-haired people, and his eyes are brown, but the glares he gives are rather ... pinning. Dissecting. Comes with being a surgeon - feels like he's putting you apart already. Live with it.
His outfits in which you could see him are few. Three, actually. When with people, he wears a strict official business suit, which so much gives him an impression of a government agent already. But you can't argue that it fits. When performing an operation, he dons a standard white medical coat, often wearing a white cap and a facemask standard for a surgeon. When in the field or at home - camo pants and shirt, pair of combat boots. A militaryman to the core.
PERSONALITY.
This one is a man of contrasts, of sorts. Good and bad, and neutral at the same time. Your opinion about Aizen would probably depend on who you are to him. If you are one of his close circle of friends or part of his family - you will know him as a strict, but just person, who would never snap on you, and to who you will be always able to turn to when any kind of trouble befalls you. Someone you can trust. Someone who cares about you and will do anything to protect you. All'n'all, a fine lad. Everyone else ... well, its a completely different story.
Let me start from saying that Aizen is a misanthropist. People annoy him to great degree, especially people he has to work with now. When considering others, he always, always accentuates on the negative, which he is easily able to spot. Possessing a cold, calculating and analytic mind, he is being able to dissect and analyze every person in his mind, seeing through their petty lies, reasons and goals. His perceptive nature is part the reason why he dislikes humans so much - he can see the dirt beneath the fingernails, he is disgusted by them. He barely considers himself better than they are though, being able to see through himself just as much as through others, but the point is he doesn't bother comparing. Doesn't care. The only way to even have a chance of befriending him is to be an extra-ordinary person not marred by pathetic pettiness. Or feel the crushing weight of his contempt.
Being harsh to anyone that has the misfortune to work with or under him, in work he strives for one thing - discipline. Results. And absolutely doesn't tolerate any kind of slack or failure. Underlings writhe when having to work with the doctor, but once they're transferred they miraculously find out that they have grown to a whole new level in what he forced them to to peerlessly. The man is excellent when it comes to achieving results.
His loyalty, as it was mentioned before, lies with his few friends, most of them being ones he served with, and family. Anything else he considers simply a "job", and doesn't bother doing anything beyond what is written in his contract, however, what is written there he follows to the letter. But do not think that his dedication to work can overpower his loyalty for his family. That's not how it is done. He works because of his family, not against it. Which could be considered a weakness by a third party, because endangering one of the ones he cares about will force him into cooperation.
He loves his wife and his kids. Dearly. To the point of obsession. If he would be given an order to kill a hundred children in order to save his own - he will do it without a second thought. Will he regret it? Probably will. But his regret is anger. He will simply seek vengeance on the one who forced him to do this, and he will get it. Eventually. He is patient like a snake, and is hell-bent on retribution when something or someone endangers what he values most.
His relation to his job is ... odd. He is a first-class surgeon, an MD, who is skilled in regular as well as brain surgery, author of a few brochures, and currently writing a manual. And yet he hates people. And despite hating people, is able and will pull off most complicated operations, fighting for every patient's life like there's no tomorrow. And he is severely distressed when he fails to save somebody. There is a reason for that - something that plagues him after the military campaign he participated in. A principle. Patient may die, but not under his watch.
His view of the digimon is ... well, not better than that of humans. He heard arguments that digimon should be treated just like humans, and ... he does treat them that way! Like dirt. Doesn't care if they're made of meat or from data, both are equally pathetic - the digimon being able to inhabit the worst of humans. They are not too different in his eyes.

Aizen was born to a simple family in lower Odaiba, as a second son, 38 years ago. Ever since birth, he was considered a "strange" child, even by his parents, because of his unusual hair-color. Blonds were very uncommon around here, and from ancient times were associated with demons, which gave him his first nickname among other children - Youko. Funny, you say? Not so much.
He was ostracized by other kids as a child, but nothing more - the boy was bigger, stronger than the others, so no one else dared doing something mean to him, especially when he responded to every offense with a violent brawl. Few tried, even ganging up on him, but it was of no use - they only ended up beaten and bruised. He didn't have a lot of friends...
School years were just repeating the same until higher grades, when grown-up kids were beginning to understand that with a quiet, smart, and strong guy one better be trying to be friends with. But ... did he need them anymore? He needed them when he was little and wanted company, but now ... what reason he had? He had no use for such "friends". He had his that he knew from early childhood... One of which was most important to him in particular...
It was a girl he knew since kindergarten, the only one who didn't mind approaching him back then... They stood up for each other since - she kept him company, and he roughed up anybody who dared as much as look at her the wrong way. They were teased for such a friendship, marked as "couple", since they sat at one bench at school, and were inseparable at all times. Eventually, those teases proved to be truthful - what was simple friendship grew into ... something more.
They started dating, and even went into the same university - a medical one, both wishing to become doctors, and never to leave each others' side. People were wondering why they did not marry yet. There was a reason - Aizen did not want to marry until they get their degrees and he gets a job. He was firm on this, believing that a "student family" is not a way to go. And besides... there were other reasons...
After finishing the med school and receiving his degree, Aizen was drafted into the military forces, soon reassigned into peacekeepers as a field medic. He did not oblige his fiancee to wait for him, and said that she should find herself someone else, because 3 years of service is a long enough time. He did not really expect her to wait, and left with an easy heart...
His assignment was not one of the easiest ones. A hot spot, somewhere in the middle east. That place was never quiet. And his service there was one hell of a time. The word "Hell" being taken literally. It was a hell-hole. Peacekeepers were standing between two warring tribes, ocasionally shot at from both sides. Keeping order in a lawless land... They weren't welcome. At all.
He did not see much combat, really. But he did see enough of aftermath from it. He was the one who put all those bodies back together after they were torn apart by traps, land-mines, explosions, bullets... It was a nasty, greasy work. He had to sew bodies together, and also work in local hospitals, helping out civilians who were harmed in the crossfire.
That part of the job he hated most. The locals ... they did not like peacekeepers much. If at all. For great crime of taking away their liberty to kill, rape and pillage at will. He had to treat those who could have been throwing rocks at him at another occasion. And the bastards did not bother showing gratitude, still cussing in their obscure language. He didn't even bother figuring out what it was - intonation was more than enough.
His medical degree did not prepare him for what he had to face there. Wounds were often too horrible, too difficult to treat quickly. Many have died, he was unable to save them. That left a deep mark, which could have been seen throughout his continuing career as a medical worker. He hated this place. He hated all the gore, and he hated these people whom they were supposed to help. It drove him to extreme lengths of frustration - up to the point he believed the world would be better off nuking the damn place and leaving a smoking crater. His wishes, of course, were not being considered, not that he expected them to be...
Three years later he returned home, a completely different person. Grizzled, scarred, and with a whole bunch of issues he now planned to deal with himself... And to his surprise, he discovered that he was waited for all this time. The girl he left so long ago... she waited for him, she really did. In his skepticism, he did not believe that, but some of his friends, people he could trust, told him the entire story.
She did not forsake their years of friendship, and all this time, she waited, and kept faith. She was a pretty girl, and many tried hitting on her, only to be denied. And when they were re-united, there was no end to their joy. Aizen felt ... guilty. Guilty he ever doubted her resolve, guilty he left her for these three years to help people who did not want his help. He had to make amends, for everything...
They married shortly after his arrival - a modest, quiet ceremony with barely a handful of guests which were families and close friends. Both were modest like that. After all this, Aizen wanted to compensate for years they were kept away from each other ... in all meanings of the word...
They had three children together, one coming after another. They became his new drive to strive for better life, not for him, but for his family. He may have been not the best dad, but God he was trying. It was hard enough to support his family, work, and study at the same time. Even with his experience as a medic, he still was frowned upon by the rest of hospital personnel... What a bunch of assholes.
But Aizen overcame these obstacles. He studied feverishly, with great energy and zeal. In the course of 14 years he dedicated to his studies, he became a recognized surgeon in many areas, but his new-found interest was in all concerning neuro-surgery, and all things related to brain activity. He came into the field with a fresh mind, unrestrained by dogmas prevailing in the field, which ... again, was frowned upon. It seemed everywhere he went people were against him somehow.
Despite this, he came up with a whole bunch of promising designs, and even wrote a book considering it, but, once more, his ideas were shoved on the shelf, to much frustration from his part. Still, he knew he could overcome this, if he tried hard enough, and squashed those pathetic mongrels in his path, this was his way to better future... Again, for his family. Aizen's star was soon to shine... but not in the way he suspected...
His exploits were noticed by someone in the government, and he was offered a job in one of the new branches they were forming. They were interested in his knowledge of brain activities and his lack of fear to experiment... And they needed to create something that would be able to ... control others. Aizen did not mind at all, it was legit, and there was an incredible amount of money attached to it, so he agreed. And his family started living in luxury somewhat... But he did not realize completely what he had to deal with.
But Aizen did realize that soon enough. A local analogue of Area 50, medical experiments on some strange creatures they called digimon. Some looked like aliens, some ... like animals. But he did not care much. He was tasked with creating a chip to control them. Paired with professionals in the field of computer science, he worked tirelessly, without any signs of ... remorse, as one after another digimon went under his knife. Not all survived, but in the end, a workable design came out...
That was long ago. Back then the goal was to find a way to stop digimon from getting to humans, and visa-versa. It was understandable - from what he was explained, digimon had a habit of becoming obedient pets to ... children, of all people. And they were able to become weapons of incredible danger. Giving such to a kid was like giving him your gun, a bottle of vodka, and your car-keys. These intruders should have stayed in their world. And while this was the goal, Aizen had no compunctions about doing most anything for them, as long as he got paid...
At any rate, now, things changed. AIR became ... different, from what it was. They sold trapped digimon enslaved by HIS chips to just about anybody, they became everything they stood against. This was ... incredibly stupid, from his point of view, and he told his concerns numerous times. Alas, his voice of reason was not heard. Not that he cared THAT much. As long as he was paid and his family can live good. That was his goal, wasn't it? But it did not stop him from feeling that he was being surrounded by morons. Who'd listen to the doctor anyway?
