APPEARANCE.
digi world attire
Standing at a good 5'5" is Makise Haruka. At the very top of this girl you will see short, straight, jet black hair that comes to just above her shoulders. This hair frames a fairly feminine face that includes a pair of bright blue eyes, a small nose, and a thin mouth. The girl has never been one to put much into her face, even as a high school student. She is much too busy with her extracurricular activities to deal with makeup and pretty hair styles.
Due to her athletic extracurriculars, it is not surprising that the girl has a very athletic figure. Mostly muscle and little body fat, Haruka was build for speed and endurance in competitions. Her slender build an strong frame give her exactly what she needs in order to succeed in her physical endeavors.
PERSONALITY.
Haruka's personality may be described in one simple word: tomboy. The girl loves sports and anything competitive from soccer to baseball, to tennis, swimming and races. She'll do it all simply for the sake of saying she did it and was able to succeed in her attempts. Unlike most who are competitive, however, Haruka doesn't really care whether she wins or loses. Yes she does tend to win a lot, but she has been known to throw races for others occasionally, especially when her winning streak has gotten too high.
Though she loves to get down and dirty and play some physical games, she is definitely a good sport, whether she wins or loses. She is friendly to everyone she meets, and seems to be somewhat of a school idol. While she doesn't mind the attention, she does feel alone in a crowded room at times. On multiple occasions she has felt as though the people around her are merely there because of her success in sports and the fact that she just can't bring herself to say 'no' when someone wants to talk or hang out.
All in all, the girl can't wait to get home. Though she gets a lot of attention at school, she is completely content with the alone time she gets when she goes home. The youngest of a trio of siblings, Haruka is the only one left to graduate high school. Her older siblings have already graduated and left the house for college either out of town, or in the dorms. While at home, Haruka simply loves sitting down and being lazy while playing video games in her bedroom. So as to serve as a distraction from school, she never buys any sports games. She tends to be more into the RPG games with fantastical creatures and turn based strategy.
HISTORY.
hometown; Kyoto Japan
family members; Makise Shuichi [father]
Makise Kotone [mother]
Makise Atori [brother]
Makise Momiji [sister]
Born the third child in a middle class Japanese family in Kyoto hasn't been easy for Haruka. With two parents working full time, she depended mostly on her older siblings, though even that tended to be difficult. Her brother Atori was the brains of the family - the first born favorite son who got perfect grades and had his entire future ahead of him. All that was left was her sister Momiji, who was the girliest girl Haruka had ever met. She spent all of their time giving the younger sister 'makeovers' and doing her best to make her 'plain looking little sister' look more feminine. Though Haruka enjoyed the time she spent with her sister, she still felt as though she was missing something.
Once she grew old enough to venture outside on her own, she came across a group of boys riding their bikes through theta neighborhood. She had no idea where they were going, but she decided to follow them. Anything beat another Momiji makeover. It didn't take long for the boys to realize that they were being followed, and though they did everything to lose the stupid little girl, she still kept up with them. Eventually, they came to their destination - a deep and somewhat calm pool alongside a nearby river. It was their secret spot. There was a tree that hung over the water that they had spent a lot of time building into a clubhouse complete with rope swings.
Since she had managed to keep up without hem, they decided to give her a little 'test' as a reward. They promised that if she passed that they would let her hang out with them, but they were too overconfident that she would chicken out. The test that they gave her was to jump into the deepest part of the river from the highest platform on the tree. What they hadn't told her was that it was their newest platform, and none of them had yet had the courage to actually jump from it. Brimming with confidence, Haruka climbed to the highest platform and pencil dove into it without hesitation. Since it was the deepest part, it took her a while to come back up, and when she did, she had swum all the way to the bank.
You see, what she hadn't told them was that she had been taught to swim since she was an infant just like her two older siblings. Her parents believed that the best way to protect a child from drowning was to teach them how to swim, and unlike her older siblings, Haruka had taken to water like a fish. So when she didn't resurface exactly where she had jumped in, the whole group of boys jumped in to try and find her. They were still in the middle of searching when they heard a loud cry from above them. Haruka had snuck past them, climbed back up the tree, and was doing a cannonball off of the same platform as before, splashing the lot of them.
Having passed the test with flying colors, the boys had no other choice but to let her hang out with them. They taught her how to play all sorts of games, and even included her in their games against other teams full of boys. She was their secret weapon since she seemed to take tot he games just as well as the water. The other teams would laugh at first about them having a girl on their team, even if they did give her a male nickname of just calling her Haru. They were al so busy at laughing at the girl that they were taken by surprise when she would make a skilled move like scoring a goal in soccer or hitting a home run in baseball.
The girl would come home every day covered in filth, which made her family worry about her at first. Her brother would tell her that she should spend more time on her studies than playing with those stupid boys, while her sister would cringe at the very sight of the dirt and smell. Feeling distanced now from her family while at home, she began to look for things to do by herself when she couldn't hang out with her new friends. It was around this time that she began to get interested in videogames. In fact, it was the same group of friends she played sports with that got her hooked.
It had all started on a rainy Sunday. There was no way her parents would let her go outside in the rain, but there she sat, staring out the window, just hoping that her friends would come by and suggest a game of soccer in the rain. To her surprise, one of them showed up under an umbrella and knocked on the door. When her father answered the door, he told the boy that Haruka couldn't come play in the ray, but the boy's smile didn't fade. He went on to explain that he was having an indoor get together and that his mom had made snacks. Though her father was still a bit hesitant to let his youngest girl play with a bunch of boys, he couldn't ignore her pleading expression, nor the simple fact that there would be adult supervision.
Once she got to her friend's house, the boys introduced her to multiplayer videogames. Of course they all had to take turns since there were only 4 controllers, but it was a fun time. The whole group spent all day snacking on sandwiches cakes and juice while playing game after game. Of course the moment she got home she was asking for a system and specific games to go with it, but her father told her she would just have to wait for her birthday. Luckily for Haruka, her birthday was later that fall, so she only had to wait a few months.
The years went by with Haruka going to school with the same group of boys as her friends. Though she couldn't be on the same sports teams as them in school, she could still compete against them by comparing team scores. Haruka's best sport has always been swimming, but since that's more of a solo sport, her favorite team sport is definitely baseball, with soccer in a close second. She also runs and rides her bike around a lot to keep up her endurance, and has recently taken a liking to tennis.
Having noticed a few children with these handheld gadgets, she has searched far and wide to not only figure out what they are, but where to get them. She finally got her hands on one recently, and has yet to take a real close look at it. Convinced that it's nothing more than a new handheld videogame, she is completely oblivious to the fact that her new toy is actually a digivice. The thing came with only the instructions to take it to her computer.
