It was past noon and the red haired girl was still asleep. Her body was exhausted from her hike the day before. A slit of sunshine was focused on her but did not disturb her slumber. Everything was serene and still at her house. She has no plans until Monday, when she had school.
THUD.
Tomoko's eyes opened slightly and groaned a little. She stretched herself and gave out a few small yawns before lifting herself up from the couch. Her eyes were focused on Budmon. Poor little thing, she thought as she slowly moved over to pick up the thorny digimon. A small giggle came out of Budmon's mouth, "I should have probably waited until you woke up, huh sweety?"
"Nah, I needed to get up anyway." Tomoko replied with a smile. She walked slowly to the front door with Budmon in her arms to the lawn. Once there she made herself comfortable by laying on her belly. "So like ... what now?" She questioned, though honestly the girl was hoping for someone to stop by and say hello maybe even stay for a while ...

"Left, he went left!" Motimon said, racing around a street corner with Briana following behind a second later, again pleased that she was wearing her street clothes rather than her school uniform - it would have allowed for slightly easier movement, but she never would have lived down the shame of chasing down some stray neighborhood cat dressed like that. The thing was a gutsy little sucker, too - it could had gotten away from them quite easily, but it had either decided that it was too much effort to try and loose them, or it considered the chase a game of some sort, an idea that really irritated her.
It had started out innocently enough, too. It had been a warm sunday morning, no school, no real homework to do that hadn't been finished the day before, and given the rain from the day before she and Motimon - probably just her, actually - had been sick of staying in the relatively cramped apartment she was living out of. Quite simply, Briana had wanted out, so after talking it over with Motimon they'd decided to spend the day in the local park, pretty much the only place that Motimon could be in a relatively open area without drawing too much attention or being forced to act like a plushie or some other revolting object. The morning had passed easily and comfortable enough, and as noon had approached they'd decided to buy a pair of sandwiches from a street vendor rather than go all the way back to the apartment to get food. The problem, however, came when Motimon had been slightly slower in finished his sandwich due to his smaller size, and when Briana had gotten up to get a drink from a nearby water fountain.
The moment she'd turned her back and Motimon had put some space between his mouth and his sandwich as he focused on chewing some random cat Briana had never seen before in the park had the nerve to tackle Motimon and make off with the food, and lacking the money needed to buy another sandwich they had instead given chase. That had been almost an hour ago, and after chasing the damn thing over nearly half the park they'd followed it into the nearby suburbs, chasing it through the narrow streets that were thankfully empty due to it being a sunday afternoon. If it were up to Briana she would had given up a while ago - she was very fit for her age and build given how much she moved around, but she was nearing her limit, and fatigue was beginning to set in. Motimon, however, was just as energetic and determined to catch the pest as he had in the beginning, the normally polite, docile pink blob she normally knew showing a stubborness that was very uncharacteristic of him, and given how often she dragged him into trouble, Briana figured she at least owed him this much. Still, if there was any lesson she was going to take away from this incident, it would be to never, ever get between a digimon and their food.

Meanwhile Tomoko was having a hard time keeping herself awake again. Her eyes were dull and droopy, the warmth of the sun didn't help either. She was fighting off her tiredness the best she could and made a couple of odd faces. Budmon on the other hand was holding back a few giggles and snorts as her partner made some faces. The little plant was mimicking her as well until a ball of fur running past her.
The creature ran on top of Tomoko and to the bushes. Budmon fell back with a yelp while Tomoko sprang up quickly. It was a rude awakening but at least she was fully awake now. The amber eyed girl huffed then looked over only to see a girl running.
Was she looking for that cat? ... More than likely, maybe. Then again she could be out for a jog ... or something. She was too lazy to get up and ask herself. Tomoko looked down at herself and noticed her shirt was damp from the grass. A sour look was shown and she whined.
"I hate cats." Budmon replied. She really didn't, they were disgusting little creatures in her opinion. Anything that furry and annoying she didn't like. And the nerve of it running across her partner like that made her a little upset. "They aren't that bad," Tomoko responded, letting out a faint yawn. "That one was probably busy with something... I guess." She really didn't know what to think.

After following the cat around the corner, Motimon kept hot on the furry little monster's trail, Briana right behind him as the digimon refused to give an inch of ground to the beast. After following it for another two minutes the cat suddenly made sharp change in direction, darting off to the side of the street and through a set of shrubs.
"Oh no, you're not losing me that easily!" Motimon huffed, small face scrunched up in a mixture of determination and annoyance as he changed direction as well, following the cat right through the vegetation much to Briana's dismay. While difficult but possible to follow, she couldn't do so without attracting a fair amount of attention - a stray cat and similarly sized creature darting past over the various small lawns might not have drawn much attention, but a teenage girl who wasn't familiar to most of the occupants of the suburban houses would immediately raise alarms if she began randomly trespassing without apparent reason. Fatigue clearly beginning to show as her breath began to become more labored, Briana instead followed the best she could from the street, catching glimpses of Motimon between the fencing and bushes as she kept running.
As the cat crossed several more lawns Motimon kept right after him, the mammal beginning to gain ground inch by inch as the digimon himself began growing faint from fatigue and hunger. Bursting through another wall of hedges, the cat ran over Tomoko and Budmon before disappearing through another wall of vegetation, only to have Motimon burst through following the cat's previous entrance a few seconds later. Unable to understand what he was seeing in time to properly react, Motimon collided head on with the now standing Tomoko's shin, bouncing off and landing on his back, stunned and dazed from the impact as he simply lay in place, stomach grumbling a moment later.
Briana, however, ran right past Tomoko's house catching sight of the cat crossing the street but stopping when she didn't see Motimon following it anymore. Leaning forwards and placing her hands on her knees, breathing heavily now that she finally had a slight opportunity to rest, the student kept watching where the cat had come from for several seconds more, standing upright when she saw no sign of him. Had he given up? No, if he had the digimon would've gone right back to her, dejected but realizing he'd never have caught the speedy furball. No, chances were he'd gotten trapped or otherwise delayed in the previous lawn. Wiping her forehead with her shirt sleeve, Briana turned back t follow her footsteps, glancing over onto the next lawn to see with a fair degree of horror that Motimon was on his back, dazed, probably after running into the other girl that was now standing. As her mind raced with possible ways to distract the girl long enough for Motimon to recover and flee, or even for ways that Briana could grab him herself, she noticed another small creature on the lawn that closely resembled a plant? Another digimon?

An awkward silence loomed over the atmosphere and Budmon stared at the pink blob what ran into her partner. She didn't laugh or smile, it was a glare. It was an instinct not to trust anyone unless proven harmless. This digimon Budmon gazed upon did look defenseless and rather dim-witted, but she shouldn't assume that in the first place.
Tomoko giggled at Motimon and picked him up. "Tom! .. Stranger danger!" Budmon whined with caution. An irritated face was expressed in her voice as well. Tokomo looked over with a sarcastic face then huffed. Her attention when back to the pink-thing and smiled.
"You must have been very desperate to try to chase that cat," The red haired girl replied, "Or did it do something you didn't like?" While she was talking, she sat back down to set Motimon down gently. Her curiosity grew and she poked the small digimon in the belly. "I'm guessing you're hungry too.[/b]"At this point she was speaking to herself in a soft voice. Budmon ignored the conversation and was looking around. Her cheeks were puffed in frustration. It had only been a few minutes and the girl already had her focus on something more interesting than her own partner, she thought. A dull expression was shown then turned into a confused one when she noticed Briana. [/tt][/sub]

As he lay on his back, dazed in the soft grass, Motimon's mind struggled to restart. Where was he? What had he been doing? Whay had he been doing it? What time of the day was it, where was that light from above coming from? Who was lifting him up from out of the grass now, was it Briana? Had he fallen out of a tree or something similar and hit his head upon landing, and Briana had found him like that? No, that was preposterous - Briana was the one who clinbed trees, and it nearly gave him a heart attack every time she tried to see how far out she could go on branches before they bent since he was too small to catch her. For that matter most of the things she did resulted in giving him reason to panic, it was a wonder he hadn't developed a complex or mental disease or disorder yet from it. Still, back on topic, if it wasn't Briana, what had happened? Had that damnable cat decided to turn around and attack him again, and to his eternal shame actually won?
It was at that moment that his mind finally righted itself, his eyes snapping back into focus to find himself being held in a pair of arms and looking at a face that was definately not Briana's, Motimon's body stiffening in panic as a dozen new thoughts shot through his head within the space of the next moment. What did he do now? Try and break free, make a run for it? No, bad idea, he was still too unsteady to risk trying to stick a landing even if he did manage to break free, and he wasn't going to use a technique on another human who didn't seem to be an immediate threat. For that matter, which directions wer north, south east and west? He couldn't start blindly running in a random direction, it would be far too risky, and since it was roughly noon time the sun was of no help, he'd have no idea which direction the apartment was in. Motimon nearly panicked again once he realized that in his pursuit of the furry thief he might well have lost Briana, making it all that much more difficult to get back to the apartment, and quite possibly terrifying her in the process - while she may have been too prideful to admit it, she cared too much about him to simply shrug off his absence and leave it to him to get home, and he knew it. Motimon was still nearly shaking with panic when instead of doing any number of the things Motimon had feared was coming, the girl holding him simply set him back down on the ground, speaking to him and nearly giving him a heart attack again as she poked him in the stomach. Still too dazed to make a run for for it and too lost to want to attempt it, Motimon glanced around for a moment to try and get his bearings when he noticed Budmon, freezing as he stared at the other digimon with a look of paranoid confusion.
Briana, meanwhile, was just as panicked as Motimon as she stood at the edge of the property, also at a complete loss of how to handle the situation and unaware of Budmon as she watched on in growing horror, hair nearly standing on end and her body shaking slightly in a frenzied panic until she saw the other digimon as it turned and faced her, freezing herself as her curiosity and fear went to war in her head. Continuing to stare at the other digimon and for once unable to comprehend or understand the situation, how to get Motimon out of there, afraid about his physical condition given how dazed he seemed to be and unable to choose between her panic, common sense and curiosity, Briana's brain simply shut down as it became to overwhelmed to function, the girl passing out and falling forward to lean over the short wall that marked the edge of the property.
