The conflict escalated with frightening speed, and the lone digimon's anger level was rising exponentially. Royally pissed off was not even starting to describe it. And this human, this ... Valus, was only making it worse. Not for her, for himself. What, didn't he realize that he was a human? A weak, fragile, squishy human?
How the hell did he have the nerve to talk the way he did in front of her? In front of any digimon, and there were at least two more of them? There were very few things that could insult her, but this ... this did it. To the core. She did not know why, but any thought of slavery ignited a rather strong impulse which could make her do rash things.
- How ... dare you...
The monodramon stood in the way between her and Ryusuke, but at the moment she did not care much about the small dragon ... thing, or whatever, her anger was directed at the more irritating of the two - this stranger, who was "owner" of the poor frog digimon. Owner, huh? She'll show him, "owner". Her fist was itching and she wanted to scratch it against his face. He was asking for it... With a rather obvious intent written on her face, she moved towards Valus, and she probably would have did something really nasty, if not for...
- Huh? - the fox sounded obviously amazed as Modoki, of all people, decided to stand on her path. This was ... confusing. Why, why are you protecting him, you silly little digimon? She had no idea, but she was not willing to go through the small digimon in order to get to her "owner". Because she was acting on an impulse to help the small toad-like creature, and hurting her in order to help would be ... hypocritical.
- But ... why? Why ... my path ... stand? Help you ... I wish... - she was rather confused of the reasons she was not letting her go straight for the arrogant prick, but still angry. Very angry. And only a couple of meters away... You better know what you're doing Valus...

The situation was spiralling out of control fast, and Monodramon knew it. Renamon was beyond reasoning - truth be told, he didn't even think she recognized him anymore, let alone Ryusuke, and he didn't think she cared. He could understand her fury along with Ryusuke's shock, but he couldn't comprehend it - hot anger like that was useless in his opinion, and this proved it. What use was anger if you let it control you? But controlling her it was, and he honestly didn't think anything except a fight was going to resolve the issue - until she made to move around Monodramon and Ryusuke, leaving some hope that she could be reasoned with. Monodramon was surprised again a moment later, both by ModokiBetamon moving to the defense of her captor as well as the fact that it actually got through to Renamon, stopping the fox like digimon in her tracks with confusion alone. While Monodramon was focused on Renamon, however, Ryusuke was recovering from his initial shock, and fast.
"Shut up."
Although the words themselves were indicative of disrespect or anger, there was no emotion immediately noticable behind them - at least not if you didn't recognize it or know what to look for. To anyone who knew Ryusuke, though, the ice cold anger underneath the control he was exhibiting was readily apparent as he finally looked up and over at Valus, his expression hard set and the eyes that had been hidden to the other human moments ago in shock now much harder than one would have expected from someone as young as Ryusuke. While he was very much aware of Renamon and the very strained control she was now exerting, she didn't concern him at the moment - while she'd momentarily lost it, she was in control again, and probably wouldn't be a problem, especially with two fellow digimon that she didn't want to fight standing between her and Valus. No, Valus' problem was much closer to home than he probably thought - it was taking a good deal of Ryusuke's self control to avoid decking the man himself, and it was only the reminder that he could cause very real, very permanent damage if he did attack the man that kept his anger in check.
"I might not understand how things work here, but how can you come from our world and see this as right? They aren't wild animals, they can speak and think just as well as we can. Where do you get the idea that you have any right to chain one of them to you, for reasons personal or professional?" Ryusuke said, making an effort to say the words slowly and with relative calm, although he was unable to keep all of the anger from his voice. Was that simply how it worked in this world? The instant you entered it you became chained to another individual, whether you wanted to or not? No, that didn't make any sense either - one of the first creatures he'd seen had obviously not been tied to any human, and Renamon was another fact that spoke out against that idea. What, then? Were they simply exceptions to the rule? Though he was sorely tempted to, Ryusuke avoided looking away from Valus and at Monodramon - while the dragon digimon had clearly known something was wrong here and that it was related to their supposed status as partners, he'd avoided elaborating on the cause, only making a slight slip of the tongue when they'd arrived in the forest before. While he wasn't entirely sure if it was possible, Ryusuke had to wonder if what was just revealed there and then had anything to do with it. It didn't matter, though - for the moment, Ryusuke had to focus on the here and now.

- ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ WON'T LET YOU SLIP THROUGH MY FINGERS
Seeing how utterly enraged the Renamon was by now, Valus couldn't help but flinch as she stepped closer, suddenly frightened of her unrestrained ferocity. For a moment, he almost considered apologizing for his poor choice of words, spoken out of frustration and misdirected anger. He'd beg them for forgiveness and tell them all he knew, and hope that they'd perhaps pity him enough to maybe let him keep Modoki - the only constant companion that he had.
But then... what was this? They cared about Modoki's welfare? Genuinely?
He was back in control. The fear went away, and he felt shame for letting it sway him. Embarrassed by the very idea he might have actually admitted that he knew - knew that what he was doing wasn't right. He was fully aware of his actions, and... maybe he wasn't proud of them, but he wasn't ashamed of them either.
“Inflict pain on me, and she’ll suffer equally. You might as well know that there’s a chip inside her now. It will go off if I come to any harm.”
Slipping that little piece of information with some smugness, Valus knew that he was pushing his luck by doing so. Placing his bets on the conscience of those who might now want to hurt him - or worse. They probably wouldn't think twice about stamping him out, but would they if they knew doing so would endanger Modoki? For some reason they seemed to be concerned about her even though it was none of their business. It was his only chance now, and so he bent over and placed his hands by Modoki's sides, scooping her up before she could react.
"Yagami, I've changed my mind about showing you the way home. If you're going to act like you can judge me, then you're obviously above my help, right?" Struggling a little against his grip, Valus fought to keep a good hold of his Digimon, eventually suppressing her when she finally gave up. Her usually cheery features now drooping in a depressed sort of way, her eyes avoiding contact with those of Ryusuke, Monodramon... and especially Renamon.
"I 'opes you remember somethin' soon enough like, Renee. Survive as best you can, right enough! We all of us must... in our own ways like."
Her body lurching as Valus took a step backwards, the human began to make his retreat with Modoki held out in front of him like a shield, meeting Yagami's cold stare with burning scorn, furious that he was being looked down on by one of the chosen kids who didn't have to worry about anything. Captive again, his partner said nothing else, holding off on her usual chatter as she tried to cope with her shame in silence.

The renamon was stopped in her tracks, both by what the small frog digimon and the human that held her captive said. The nerve he had! Using the poor thing as a shield for himself from her righteous fury - the fox did not even know she was capable of that, but now it was more than visible, judging by her movement and rather scary facial expression. But ... as long as he had Modoki she couldn't do anything...
Or could she? The arrogant boy's hope lied entirely on the supposition what Renamon wouldn't do anything that would hurt Modoki. And that was completely right. But such a heinous line of defense was a double-edged sword - while it was able to stop your opponents, it would just as well piss them off beyond point of return... Or reasoning. Which ... was exactly what happened now...
- Skin a ... cat... More than way... Is. - her voice sounded cold and bitter enough as she spread her hands in some sort of a summoning ritual. When angry, renamon lost control of herself... and that control would then be taken by ... someone else. Who knew all the moves. Looking Valus straight in the eye... Kohen... Someone would regret...
... - kyo!
And then something would happen... The fox... She wouldn't be there. No, she would disappear in a whirl of leaves. And in those leaves, there would be found ... Modoki? But ... how would that be possible? There was an explanation. Kohenkyo... it did switch place of the renamon with the target she chooses... But ... if Modoke would be here, then the fox...
- Hello ... Valus. - the fox would say, if her move would go through, now that she will find herself in the boy's technical embrace, his arms somewhere around her waist, and eyes would be drilling direct into his. And if no one would do anything soon ... something nasty would happen...

(OOC note: I used the "future tense" for my part of the post regarding the attack, so that it won't be godmoding, no matter how retarded the part sounds with it. Feel free to negate it, if you wish, ... somehow xP)

"You seem to be forgetting one key detail, pal. I don't need to ask you for anything. You aren't at all well prepared for a desert crossing, eliminating the possibility that we'll need to cross the desert to find a way out, and more than that you seem to be under the impression that you can stop me from following you. I don't need your permission to do that - I can just keep tagging along until you get tired of staying in this world." Ryusuke said, starting slowly as he thought out the next possible course of action but speaking with both confidence and fluidity by the time he finished, a small grin on his face. Valus had already admitted to making relatively frequent trips in and out of this world, and Ryusuke's observation was correct - the man had no immediately visible bulges in his clothing, nor any bags that were readily visible. If he'd attempted to cross the desert as he was now, Valus wouldn't make it more than a day or two, assuming her survived the first few hours, and the same went for his digimon - amphibians generally did not fare well in such extremes of heat and dryness. As for dealing with Valus himself if he proved to be a problem, he was wrong on that count, too - there were plenty of ways to disable or incapacitate a person without inflicting any pain beyond mere discomfort.
The problem was ModokiBetamon - he'd seen other similarly sized digimon fight already, and while he felt reasonably sure that he and Monodramon could take the creature, he didn't particularly want to, and he doubted she wanted to fight them either. Ryusuke wasn't sure if free will figured into the equation here, though - Valus clearly didn't exercise complete control over her, so it was more a question of whether or not she'd fight if she knew there wouldn't be any pain involved, and while Ryusuke had his suspicions which were based in relatively sound logic, he couldn't guarantee any of them. It was his focuson finding ways around the situation that caused Ryusuke to lose track of his surroundings, however, and that included Renamon.
"Ryusuke, move!" Monodramon shouted from behind him, already turning around and beginning to move around Ryusuke and towards Valus. Ryusuke, uncomprehending for a fraction of a second, glanced over at where Renamon had been a moment ago only to see ModokiBetamon in her place. Things seemed to slow down as he instinctively turned back to face Valus to see the angry, fox like creature in his grip.
"Damn!"
The word involuntarily left his mought as Ryusuke lunged forward, forming his prosthetic hand into an openhanded shovel and slipping it up under Valus' arms and in between the limb and the digimon, raising his arm once it was in place for an awkward attempt at a modified release, with the intention of hooking one leg around Renamon's and kicking Valus away from the creature as he interposed himself in between them.

Valus felt his triumph starting to slip away from him, the unpleasant reality behind Yagami's words a little too believable for his liking. He didn't feel so confident anymore, his hopes lurching up and down again faster than he could keep track of, fear and anger churning together inside him. Fear that he might not get away, and anger that he was frightened in the first place.
"Y-You'd really go to all that trouble over-er..." That hadn't come out very well, had it? The fear was taking over, and that just made him hate what was happening even more. "Seriously? You act all high and mighty, but you're so petty! Don't you have better things to do, since you're such a special person?" Malice was all he had to fight with on his own like this, subconsciously part of him knew he was being hypocritical, but right now he wasn't thinking too much before opening his mouth. Insults were his only weapons - his body was reacting on instinct alone, and very suddenly he was in for a shock.
ModokiBetamon... vanished. His arms were now wrapped around an unfamiliar waist, Renamon had vanished in a strange shuffle of leaves, and now she was right here. Close enough to be touching him in the space of a second, if that.
thump... thump... thump thump... thumpthumpthumpthumpthump-
He couldn't breathe or make a sound, all he could hear was the relentless pounding of his heartbeat in his ears, a frantic sound that meant that he was alive - a sound he didn't want to stop.
Help me! Save me! He wanted to scream that, but he couldn't. If he'd known his last words were going to be his insult to Yagami, he would have put more thought into them... so many regrets! He was going to die like a rabbit cornered by a fox.
There was pain!
He fell back, clutching at his gut, coughing and gasping as he felt a burning pain in his lower abdomen. Screwing his eyes shut from the agony, with effort he forced them to open a tiny crack, but then closed them quickly again. Unable to believe what he was seeing.
His back hurt, probably from bruising, but he was still in the grip of fear. Fear gave him the strength to curl up and push himself up off the ground, to stare in disbelief at his unlikely savior for a moment, before turning around and stumbling forwards, lurching in full retreat.
He was trying to get away... but moving far too slowly to cover even a few meters.
"Valoos!" He heard calling out behind him, and he hesitated, but only for a moment. Run. That was all he knew. Run and get away.

You won't like me when I'm angry... Next moments were seen by the renamon like if she was in a haze - as if she was a third party over there, watching from size while her own body does ... something so strange ... so .. scary. And yet at the same time ... it felt so natural. It was both foreign and common at the same time. Strange, indescribable... What the hell was going on? To anybody else however, it looked like her anger went to a whole new level. But before she could inflict any sort of damage on the boy, the other one managed to get in between them, sending her target flying away, and stopping her from advancing... Wait... did she just see him as a target? Oh my, this did not bode well, for any of them. The renamon right now was ... scary. Her eyes were glowing in a menacing blue light as she pinned Valus down with her stare. That ... disgusting creature. Weak, afraid, lying on the ground just like that... And these pests enslaved digimon? Tch, how pitiful... - thoughts appeared in her head. Wait... what? Where did they come from? The renamon could have only mused, because whoever the voice belonged to was in control of her body now... which only would lead to... - Get lost. - she said angrily, her leg easily escaping that sloppy attempt at a leg hook, which was ... pretty useless in the situation, from his angle of approach. He was still in her way, but, hopefully, not for long. Her arms extended, aiming to be put on his shoulders, would pull him back strongly, while her leg moved behind his, to make him trip. She knew things too, and, being a digimon, bolstered a lot of strength. Then, she would step over him, going towards Valus, giving him the most disdaining look in his life, and uttering only two words: - Pathetic whelp. And aiming a kick at his side...

Satisfied to see that Valus was out of the way of any immediate danger for the moment, Ryusuke's mind shifted to the next problem - he was where Valus used to be, and this Renamon was not the one he'd met during his first few moments in the forest. He would've liked to think he could rely on the idea that she wouldn't cause him any serious harm, but that idea had gone flying out the window with her sanity. His suspicions were confirmed a moment later by the ice in her voice, and had it not been for being grabbed a dozen of times before he would have panicked when she grabbed him by the shoulders, hooking her leg around his and shoving him to fall over, a proper execution of the technique Ryusuke had modified to get Valus away from her - either she'd learned fast from his attempt, or knew much more than she'd been letting on to.
Instinctively shielding his head as she stepped over him, Ryusuke noted with surprise that her speech was no longer impeded, either. Had she gotten her memory back? It would have certainly explained a lot, and given the injuries she'd apparently sustained sometime in the past it would make sense for the mention of the group, combined with the presence of someone associated with it, to bring those memories back, and if they were responsible for her past injuries Ryusuke couldn't very well blame Renamon for her reaction. That being said, having a legitimate reason to be angry did not make harming the guy right, and if what he said about ModokiBetamon being linked to him was right, Ryusuke would have no idea what would happen if Renamon killed him.
Quickly rolling onto his stomach and pushing himself up off of the ground, Ryusuke did the last thing Renamon likely expected him to - he ran at her, jumping with the intent of landing on her back and wrapping his arms over her shoulders and his legs around her stomach as she stood over Valus. While his rather small stature did annoy him at times, it proved useful in situations like this - while Renamon would easily be able to reach his arms and legs that were in front of her, his torso and head would hopefully be in awkward, difficult to reach places.
Monodramon, meanwhile, was torn, unable to decide whether or not to enter the fray or to remain by ModokiBetamon's side and prevent her from getting involved. While every nerve in his body was screaming at him to join in and fight, his brain was still working perfectly fine. Ryusuke seemed to know what he was doing, and Renamon hadn't showed any fighting capability or will up to that point, and the skills she'd shown so far were flashy, but not particularly dangerous. ModokiBetamon, however, was an unknown, possibly dangerous factor, and while she didn't seem much like the fighting type either, she had a human partner, meaning that there was little to stop her from digivolving, and while Monodramon wasn't sure how much damage he could do against a Champion level digimon, it still made more sense to keep an eye on her. Making sure that ModokiBetamon remained at least within his peripheral vision, Monodramon continued to watch the scuffle, subtly and unconsciously edging closer as he did so.

thumpthumpthumpthumpthumpthump-
Modoki could hear the sound, a painful drumming in her head that was growing in intensity, drowning out all other noises. She could feel the chip moving inside her, struggling against her willpower for control of her body. It was trying to take over her from the inside and there was only one way that she could defeat it - to give in and rush to Valus' rescue herself.
"Agh!"
There was a cry of alarm from her partner as he was floored from behind by a precision kick, dropping to the ground and banging his shoulders, rolling over in the dirt so that he was now lying facing his attacker, his face making no secret of how completely frightened he was - wide eyes, flared nostrils and a quivering lower lip. He was humiliated and scared out of his wits, and those emotions were food for the device planted into her body like a parasite.
"Stop tha' now! Quick like!" she wailed, her body starting to twitch as her nerves began receiving electric signals from the chip to countermand the ones being sent by her brain. Her mouth was nonessential, but the rest of her body she could no longer move. "It's hurtin' me... right inside... here..." her speech was starting to sound like Renamon's had before now, and Modoki felt fear close it's deadly grip around her as well.
The idea of being a prisoner inside her own mind frightened her beyond measure, far more than having her body held captive by a human's will.
That was the compromise after all, wasn't it? Valus owned her now, he saw her body as his own personal weapon and shield. But while her mind was still her own, it was easy to defy him, to play with his emotions and infuriate him. As long as she had that, she didn't mind slavery so much, it didn't feel like she was trapped at all. It was only in situations like this when the reality of the situation was inescapable... when she was truly enslaved against her will.
"Back off Renee! It ain't worth it!" Modoki pleaded, using her new pet name for the Renamon in an attempt to appeal to her softer side, the one she felt compassion for. "Yagami lad! Hit the floor, so help me, or yer in for a hurtin'!" Her fin twitching, her body was acting under the chip's influence now, and all she could do was warn the others what she was about to do. There was a crackling sound, followed by a sudden screech as an arc of purple lightning fired towards Renamon out of her body, her moist skin acting like a living power conductor.
She just hoped that the attack would miss. Really, she did.

You won't like me when I'm angry... - Son of a... GET OFF ... ME! - a vicious growl came out of the renamon's throat as she felt the unnatural weight on her shoulders restricting her movement. Ryusuke, that boy just wouldn't stay down... She made a mistake of not knocking him out cold, and now he was pestering her when she could have been doing something much more entertaining... Like humiliating and abusing that slaver even more. Look at that cowering, pathetic mess. A pest. Vermin to be squashed. Just do it ... the world would be better off without this scum... - the voice was heard in the renamon's head again, calling out to her more blood-thirsty instincts... Wait ... that was not her? Was it? For a second, renamon regained a bit of control of herself not to inflict even more damage on the crouching asshole, instead focusing on the piggiback - riding Ryusuke. - I say ... drop it. - she growled out, her strong fingers wrapping around his wrists, in a rather violent attempt to pry those one from another, probably with causing as much pain as possible... Except that she felt one of his hands being much, much harder than the other, making the only conclusion... Metal? And she would have concentrated her efforts on his healthy and real hand, if a sudden call and a crack of lightning did not attract her attention. Still with the kid on her back, she turned to the sound, only to see the purple lightning bolt coming towards her at great speed... - DROP NOW! - she only managed to yell, bracing herself for impact, with these obstructions it was impossible for her to try dodging it, the other alternative only to take the blow head on - to which she mentally and bodily prepared, boldly facing the incoming attack...

"Not a chance. I only have guesses as to what set you off, but this is wrong and you know it. What makes you any better than him if you go through with this? Besides, I need him - he's my best shot at getting back home, and I'm not going to let you throw that away for a chance at petty revenge." Ryusuke grunted as Renamon growled at him - good, she was still capable of enough reasoning to try attempting to talk to him, even if her words were threats and demands. It might not have been enough to allow him to talk Renamon out of her rage induced tantrum, but it offered at least a slim possibility in addition to allowing his words to distract her. As her hands closed around his wrists Ryusuke began feeling a twinge of panic as she began prying them apart from each other with inhuman ease - where the hell did that strength come from? Relaxing his hold for a moment, Ryusuke allowed her to guide his real arm to avoid any harm coming to it while attempting to bring his prosthetic arm under her chin to try for the safest and quickest method he knew of for disabling an opponent, a choke out. He had no idea if it would work, especially given possible anatomical differences and the fact he couldn't feel where his right arm was and had to rely on some guesswork, but found he didn't have to as Renamon suddenly swung around to face ModokiBetamon, yelling for him to get off to avoid the attack that had begun to arc from the amphibian and towards them. Dimly noting with some relief that she still cared enough to bother, Ryusuke still knew he'd never avoid it even if he did drop - it was electricity, and thanks to his metal prosthetics it would simply jump through her and hit him. Monodramon, however, was already moving to intercept the attack, having already been in motion to place himself in betweent the blast as his partner from the moment ModokiBetamon had begun moving herself. Placing himself in between the blast and Renamon, Monodramon lowered his stance and spread his arms in defiance, in full view of Ryusuke from over Renamon's shoulder. "Get out of the way you idiot!" As the involuntary shout left him, Ryusuke suddenly realized with some surprise that while Monodramon may have been nothing but trouble, the last thing Ryusuke wanted was to see any harm come to him - he may have been a nuisance, but he had been well intentioned and remarkably thick skinned with Ryusuke ignoring him. At that exact same moment the small black and red electronic device on Ryusuke's belt that had remained completely unresponsive suddenly came to life, growing warm with light pouring from the screen as an ear splitting screeching sound came from it just as it had in Misty Woods. Strikedramon." Suddenly there was a new creature in Monodramon's place, which while bearing similarities to the little dragon, was much bigger - whatever had happened in Misty Woods before had just happened again, although this time the new creature had armor as well as clothing. Crossing his arms in front of him and sturdying his stance, Strikedramon took ModokiBetamon's attack head on, wincing slightly from the stinging sensation that covered his body but simply tolerating the pain as the attack passed through him, purple discharges of static arcing over his armor plates a handful of times after the attack ended. Standing upright and lowering his arms to his sides, Strikedramon stood in place between ModokiBetamon and Renamon, staring the smaller digimon down through his helmet but not forgetting the presence of Renamon behind him.

They were both fighting over him now. Yagami was telling the fox not to kill him for stupid idealistic reasons... which were also responsible for the fact that he was still alive. He couldn't understand why the other boy cared so much about keeping him alive when the hatred between them was clearly mutual, but right now, he didn't have time to grapple with the issue. While Yagami dealt with Renamon, Valus pulled his strength together and started crawling on his hands and knees.
There was a screeching noise and light shining behind him, but he didn't turn to see what it was. Hearing it too, Modoki gasped in fear, thinking that the noise was from Valus' digivice, but then saw Monodramon move to intercept her previous attack. Truth be told, she didn't really feel much concern towards him... but he took her lightning head on after Digivolving into a fresh new form.
She hadn't really stood much chance of beating him before, and now he was even stronger? The realization of that sent a shudder through her body.
"Aw dear now, this won' be pretty!" she screeched in a high pitch, a deeper whining sound now coming from Valus' direction, a pulsating red light that was painful to look at flashing from his coat pocket like a strobe. "Owowowowowowowowowowow!" she yelped as the light started to envelop her, a shredding sound drowning out her screams, skin ripping and muscles reshaping as her body began to transform grotesquely while she remained conscious the entire time.
/ / / - ~ - ~ - \ \ \ DIGIVOLUTION "ModokiBetamon... digivolve into... Gesomon!"\ \ \ ~ - ~ - ~ / / /
The light faded, and a towering creature with glistening flesh of porcelain white and a cavernous gaping maw replaced the tiny amphibian. This new creature had no eyes, and every breath it took filled the air with the stench of rotting fish, fierce rows of teeth lining the edges of it's mouth - making no attempt to disguise that this creature was one born to be a predator.
"Valoos... cha.... where... WHERE?" That voice... it was still similar enough to Modoki that Valus could recognize it, and he paused to glance over at what had become of his once placid and unassuming partner. Seeing her now, he recoiled at first in fear, but then stopped to consider her new form. It seemed much better suited for battle, could it be considered an improvement? He decided to call out, "... ere! Here! I'm over here!"
His voice was hoarse and cracked, but Gesomon heard him. One of her tentacles shot out like a white snake, wrapping around his waist and snapping backwards, snatching him off the ground and into her coils in the space of a second. Holding him raised slightly above what would be her eye-level if she'd had any, she leaned her body backward and puckered her lips, shooting out a jet of dark ink up into the air like a fountain, which then fell to the ground in the form of heavy rainfall. Coating the immediate area in splotches of slippery black ink.
Turning around, she sprayed another quick jet of the same stuff, creating a long slick path extending out several meters in front of her. Throwing her body forward, she used her tentacles like paddles on either side of her, sliding her oily body along the wet trail with Valus clinging on for dear life as she started picking up speed.
She was making a run for it!

You won't like me when I'm angry... An intervention. Most unexpected, it was. Just as the fox prepared to take a hit, and feel the smell of the fried human in her nose as well, the electrical bolt was stopped by ... someone. Someone big. Strong. She only glared at the strikedramon, whose back she faced, figuring out that this was Monodramon's evolution. It certainly did not take him long to do that... Amazing, considering that not too long ago he was just ... a tiny, cute little hopmon who just did not want to let go... How quickly he had changed... Was this why he wanted to stay with the human? The fox never saw anyone evolve at such amazing speed... Maybe because she did not see any at all... Yagami's words, however, distracted her from her brief musings, returning to reality, and to her primal rage. The boy's words were not making it any better, they were only making it worse... Petty? He called me ... PETTY? That scum, all he cares about is to get out of this place, no matter if he saves those deserving to be punished! Make him suffer! - a vengeful voice shrieked in the renamon's head, as the boy tried choking her... Poor decision. Putting both her hands on the boy's organic arm, a nasty voice hissed: - Break your arm... Easy. - and pressure would start applying to it, rising quickly, as if she was trying to break a stick. Her arms' muscles bulged, it was not that impossible for her to do it - she was a digimon, not a weak human, who held on to her only because of the uncomfortable position and mechanical prosthetics... It should have been causing enough pain already, not too much until the breaking point, when... - No... - she suddenly said, voice not the growling and angry one, but more suited to her before she went raging berserk, facial expression returning for a moment, but ... only for a moment... It returned to the raging one soon enough, and the other voice hissed again: - Grr... fine. - it said, as if agreeing with someone, and would stop applying pressure, and would release the arm from one of her hands, moving it to the mechanical one he was choking her with. Should her fingers wrap around the metallic limb, she would apply full force into prying it away from her throat, and then attempt to drag him over her head, pulling both his limbs upward in one violent move... - Bastard ... getting away! - she hissed as she watched the squid escape with her target...

Gritting his teeth as Renamon suddenly reached up and began squeezing his real arm, Ryusuke spared a second to glance over behind them at where Valus had been, only to see that he was no longer there. Taking a moment to locate him, Ryusuke's irritation threatened to take over him much as it had Renamon when he saw that his..... "partner"..... had changed just as Monodramon had, and was making good on their escape. The only thing keeping Ryusuke's temper in check was that it wouldn't be at all difficult to follow them - the squid like creature was leaving ink everywhere, and even if the stuff was water based, the pigment would remain. Breathing a small sigh of relief as Renamon released his flesh and blood arm, the anxiety returned as she actually began to pry his prosthetic arm off of her, the metal joints beginning to groan as the appendage shuddered in place - it was something that no living mammal her size should have been capable of. A moment later a sharp pain shot through Ryusuke's shoulder, catching his full attention for a moment and allowing Renamon another 4 inches with the arm. Not good - while the metal limb itself may have been durable enough to withstand such treatment, the shoulder stump it was attached to wasn't, and if she kept applying pressure it would cause damage to the flesh the limb was attached to soon.
"Alright, forget what I said earlier. There was no point to the pain you were going to cause other than self satisfaction. What makes that any different from the people responsible for those scars you have now?"
Strikedramon, seeing the other threat as gone, turned to focus on Renamon next, pivoting in place and closing the distance between them with a single bound from his now much stronger legs, stopping directly in front of her as his arms shot up to grab and immobilize hers as Renamon attempted to roughly pull Ryusuke up over her head.

- ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ WON'T LET YOU SLIP THROUGH MY FINGERS
Gesomon continued to build momentum as her smooth skin glided over the slippery ink that covered the ground, increasing in speed until she was moving along without barely having to push herself. Shooting along the black trail like a white torpedo, Valus flailing around in the grasp of one of her tentacles, which was undulating rhythmically up and down as she moved. Although he felt disorientated, he took what comfort he could in the fact that he was still alive.
Sliding her way along until she was out of sight of the struggling pair... or at least, what she thought was out of sight, judging by her limited perception skills, Gesomon pressed her two largest arm-like tentacles into the ground and skidded slowly to a halt. Releasing her grip on Valus and lowering him to the ground as gently as possible, only for him to drop to his knees and shield his eyes from the world that was still spinning.
"Valoos, stand up lad... we'd best be goin' quickly, like..." His partner's voice rang through Valus' ears and made his skull rattle, his shaken, beaten and somewhat bruised body twitching once or twice before he was finally able to lift himself up and stand on two feet. Although his vision was still a bit blurred, he could still recognize the object now standing before him - it was the portal. Gesomon had brought him back to the place from where they'd first arrived.
He could escape now! Back home, to the real world, where...
Slowly Valus turned his head, looking down the long swathe of black ink Gesomon had ridden along to get here. It was a trail - a marked path that would lead Yagami right to the exit to this world. Not only had that bastard struck him, humiliated him and saved him just to mess him around, in the end his triumph would be complete. And if he returned to the real world, he might even track him down again. No! He wouldn't let him win the day, and then get to go home on top of it! To let him get away with that would be unfair!
"No." Valus scowled, clenching his fists and lifting his right leg, slamming his heel down repeatedly against the screen until it eventually shattered. The device now useless to anyone. He'd stranded himself in this world of his own free will, admittedly, but Yagami had been missing from home longer... which meant that his family might worry about him if he didn't return soon. Let them remain apart, then! He'd take satisfaction in causing whatever damage he could to Yagami's life at this point. No matter how minuscule.
"Let's keep going! I never want to see that bastard or that mongrel ever again."
