DemiMeramon finished up eating the candy bar which Kazai had held out for her. After this, Kazai balled up the wrapper and tossed it very accurately into the trash can on the other side of the room. He was right. The little monsters were here already, but there was no need to find out more about them, nor follow them around or anything. They were here and surely, monsters didn't need someone to look after them.
"We're Digimon! Short for Digital Monsters!' DemiMeramon added onto her brother's statement. She explained it with a smirk grin. She then hovered down to Kazai's pocket where she reached in and pulled out the device the girl had concealed. She held it up.
"And this device means that we're partners! I'm here to protect you!" DemiMeramon said excitedly. Kazai, however, remained cynical.
"From?..."

"From the kind of digimon who'd prefer to swallow humans whole," Ryu's partner gave as blunt a response as possible. Although, he had noticed earlier that there were no such giant digimon here in this place where they were right now. The room was much to small to contain the size of digimon DemiMeramon was thinking about.
Meanwhile, all Ryutaro could think about was the fact that these creatures were truly monsters and, here came the kicker, there were ones far bigger than these guys, ones who would try to eat Kazai and him if they ever encountered them!
Then another thing crossed the boy's mind, a topic that didn't quite relate very much to all of the concerns he could have been voicing. Instead, he glanced backward at Kazai's partner, to his again, and then back to hers. "Do you wanna switch partners? I think I have the wrong one," ... what? If they had to be partners, then Ryu felt it was obvious the DemiMera-whatever thing in front of him was more suited to be Kazai's partner than his own. And vise versa.

"I haven't seen any monsters around, and I don't need any protection," Kazai would answer plainly and simply. She honestly hadn't seen any monsters until them right now, so she was sure that she wouldn't be needing any kind of protection in the near future. Meeting this DemiMeramon meant nothing to her right now. However, when Ryutaro asked such a silly question, she'd simply sigh.
"You can have them both for all I care," Kazai answered to him. She crossed her arms behind her head as she stood. She really wasn't entirely sure what to do at this point. It was almost like she was in fantasy land right now.
"But we'll never learn to use all our powers if we switch!" DemiMeramon spat out in a frantic shock.
"Powers?"

"This is pointless. I will not let myself be partnered to a human if this is how they treat digimon," it was clear that DemiMeramon was growing frustrated with dealing with the two humans. Ryu also seemed to be making it worse, what with his earlier comment, that one had thrown the fiery digimon over the edge.
What was he so mad about? Kazai had rejected Ryu's trade offer anyway, she didn't seem to care about anything right now, she had even tried to give her own weird monster away so freely. Not that the boy could take them home with him... his parents wouldn't like that.
"You're saying you have powers too...?" further and further from reality this conversation was spiraling! The mention of such insanity resulted in Ryutaro going back to one of his original theories. Which one? Well, the simple one, maybe this was actually just a dream after all.

Powers did sound interesting, but not nearly interesting enough for Kazai to ask to see them. That could wait for a later date... or not happen at all. She already felt like she had the ability to learn about all the things she wanted to learn about in mathematics and her own education. Supernatural stuff was only a waste of knowledge, even if it worked. She could pass.
"Anyway, I'm out," Kazai would say one more time before heading to the door. However, before she could get very far, the Digimon would cut her off by dashing in front of Kazai and hovering in front of her.
"Waaaait! Waaaaaaah! I wanna go home!" DemiMeramon cried out loud. She was crying as though she were a baby, and by digital status, she was. Kazai simply crossed her arms in front of her chest and continued walking around the digimon. DemiMeramon, however, simply followed her and continued crying.
"Will you shut up already?!" Kazai yelled after having only taken a single step out the door. Her short temper had now become explicitly visible. "Stop following me."
"I wanna go home!" The Digimon reiterated.

Ryutaro bolted after Kazai. His partner DemiMeramon followed slowly behind, albeit reluctantly. "C'mon don't be so cold. See, it wants to go home," but we don't even know where that is... This was going to be tough. Ryu wanted to help the sad little fireball, but he realized that he wouldn't have a clue where to begin. After materializing out of seemingly nowhere, did these creatures even truly have a home? "Uh... but where is that?"
DemiMeramon sighed, slowing to a stop by the doorway. "Our home is back in our own world, but... I don't know how we can get back there now..." Ryu's partner confided. Clearly he was not pleased with his current situation. "We might be stuck here..."
"What?! Ohhh no. Listen, I can't take you home with me or anything. Don't worry, you're both going back to your real home!"

"You mean in the computer?" Kazai asked what may or may not have been an obvious question. To think that the Digimon had actually come from inside of a computer. Kazai didn't know anything much about computers, but one thing that she did know was that it probably wasn't easy to get inside of one. She had never heard anything much about people traveling within them.
In any case, she finally sighed and made her way back through the door which lead to the computer lab. DemiMeramon quickly followed behind her, hovering at the girl's side and only slightly behind her. Kazai reached forward, raising her finger to the computer monitor and placing it on the currently black screen. She rubbed her index finger along it. Figuring out how to get the Digimon back inside probably wouldn't be easy.
"Maybe we can take a scan of them?" She asked Ryutaro.

Aha, it seemed Kazai had begun to come around! Now they could definitely find a way to get these creatures back home. "Yeah, let's try it!" In his mind Kazai's idea seemed to be a perfectly logical one. The digimon had popped out of the computer, so now they needed to get back inside. A scanner could... scan them back into it, or uh, something. You know, whatever works.
Ryu and his partner digimon both seemed to stare at the computer screen the girl was nearest to. Until Ryu's eyes began to trail away from the computer, where he spotted the scanner sitting on the table just beside it. Might as well try the idea out now. "DemiMerrymon, come hop onto this," the blonde moved over to the scanner and lifted the top flap of it up so he could insert what was to be scanned.
The fiery digimon's eye twitched in annoyance at the mispronunciation of his name. Hastily he hopped onto the scanner, the sooner he found his way back to the digital world the better. "Okay, scan me, humans."

"A scan?" DemiMeramon questioned as she watched her brother get into the strange looking machine. She had never heard of scanning before, but if it took things from the outside and put them into the computer, it was most likely the fastest way to get back to the digital world. She simply watched in anticipation to see if her brother would make it there safely.
Kazai too would watch. She was hoping that this would work, because quite frankly she was tired of this little digimon following her all over the place, and it hadn't even been very long yet. Kazai could only imagine how much more annoying the digimon could become if she had to put up with her for a lot longer.
"Please work."

Ryutaro pushed the scan button at that moment. He was excited to find out if this plan was going to work for them or not. The result didn't matter as much to him as it did to Kazai though. It wasn't as if the digital monsters annoyed him as they did her, he sort of just felt like he had an obligation to help them return to where they belonged.
The scan machine made its usual sounds as it went through the process of scanning DemiMeramon's image, nothing out of the usual there. No funky noises, no weirdly flashing lights, nothing. And when all was done, the little fiery creature was still in their company, glaring at the scanner as if it was the one at fault here.
Ryutaro placed his hands onto the table and used it for support as he leaned against it. "I guess that doesn't work... hmm," he glanced down at the digimon, heaved DemiMeramon into the air without warning, and held it out toward the computer screen. "Maybe if we just..." he shoved the digimon's face against the computer screen and tried to push him back inside.

Kazai had thoguht that the scanning machine idea was much too simple to work. There was a reason that they had never heard of people traveling back and forth through the computer, and that had to be that it wasn't an easy feat to achieve. She simply sighed as she watched Ryutaro attempt to shove the digimon through the monitor. She knew that wasn't going to work.
"I don't think that's going to work, Ryutaro-san," Kazai would say to him. Without her plan working, there really wasn't much else to try. She was thinking very hard, but she couldn't come up with another feasible plan that may help them out in this situation.
"And I got nothing else." Kazai said. However, DemiMeramon quickly flew through the air and landed on Kazai's shoulder where she rested comfortably. This time she was much more cheerful, however.
"That's okay! We can stay and play all day!" DemiMeramon would say to Kazai. However, Kazai simply looked at her with a perplexed expression.
"You're made of fire... but you're not burning my shoulder... yet I feel the intensity heat like a campfire... This makes no sense."

Alright, so this wasn't working either. Ryu lowered his arms while still holding the digimon, giving up on pushing it through the monitor. Nothing was working...
The blonde couldn't help but look over at Kazai as she tried to reason why they weren't getting burned by the fiery bodies. Then he blinked a few times at the creature in his hands, and it blinked back, confused. "Ahh, you think too much, Kazai-chan~," his eyes drifted back over to the girl as he waved DemiMeramon through the air.

Kazai sighed. Maybe she was thinking too much, but they were going to have to use their heads if they were going to figure out how to get these Digimon back to the world from which they came. Oh well. In due time it would probably happen. Still, Kazai couldn't help other than to think maybe she should just leave the DemiMeramon alone for now and just go about her own business as though she had never met the Digimon before. Nonetheless, she knew that DemiMeramon probably wouldn't have allowed for that. She would stalk her. Somehow Kazai knew the DemiDevimon much better than she should have, considering they had just met.
"Ugh... Ryutaro-san.. Tell your parents you're going to spend the night at my place so that we can work on our project for Chemistry," Kazai sighed. She knew from the sound of it that Ryutaro's parents wouldn' allow him to keep the Digimon and would most likely freak out. She assumed that he was a bit cautious and concerned for that reason. Whereas, Kazai could easily keep the digimon concealed in her room without anyone else finding out about them.
"I've got a couple computers in my room and we can try to figure it out in there."

"Huh? Chemistry...?" did the class have a project assigned in chemistry that he didn't know about? Not that t would be the first time if that was the case... "Oh!" it had taken a few seconds, but now Ryu realized what she had meant.
DemiMeramon squirmed out of the boy's hands when he noticed his attention was elsewhere. He didn't like being held like some inanimate object. Hopping back down to the floor, he wanted a decision to be made soon, as his impatience was beginning to get the better of him.
"Okay, I'll go to my place first and tell them," but whether or not his parents would actually believe that he was going to a friend's house to do homework was debatable... Hopefully his sister wouldn't be home because she would definitely catch onto Ryutaro's lie if his parents didn't first.

"Good," Kazai would say with a nod. She really did want to get this mystery figured out soon. Though of course the thought came to her that she may be able to figure it out faster if she did it all by herself. She had never thought of Ryutaro as the brightest person, but at the same time, he could be kind of crafty sometimes. She wouldn't want him to succeed while she was elsewhere and having to put up with DemiMeramon even longer than she had to.
"I think my parents will be able to overlook the fact that you're a boy, but I'm not sure. I've never invited anyone over before..." Kazai shrugged. Truth be told, she had never cared to do so until now, but she had a bit of a hunch that her parents would just be so happy that she had a friend for once that they wouldn't care. They had been trying to get her to play with other children for so long now.
"Otherwise we'll just have to wait until later. But it's not like we can just sit in the computer lab often in public... if we're going to keep the digimon secret, anyway," Kazai sighed. DemiMeramon began to hover next to Kazai's ear, ascending from her shoulder.
"Ohhh.. Sleepover!"
