It wasn't odd for Kazai to be found in the computer lab late after hours. It was here where she could use a number of the math programs to get even further ahead in her scholastic endeavors. The teacher of this classroom, however, had gone to a faculty meeting or something of the sort and had left Kazai in here at the computer, where she was doing some homework online for the local college.
"No... That's not right," she said as she clicked the mouse over the diagnostic box on the monitor's screen. The box closed, leaving only a graph for Kazai to interpret. However, she was growing somewhat irritated with this particular program. It was somewhat annoying. Or rather, she wasn't in the mood for this right now. She leaned back in her chair somewhat comfortably and closed her eyes.
Upon opening them, she looked up at the clock mounted on the wall. It was already 7pm. Her parents would surely be wanting her home soon. They'd be on there way to pick her up from her Tae Kwon Do class, which she had ditched quite intentionally. They would be somewhat upset, but it wasn't something she'd concern herself about too much. For now, she'd just return her focus onto the monitor.

"Fiiiinally!" Ryu threw his arms up over his head and into the air. But why was he excited? Well... wasn't it obvious? It was seven o' clock on the dot, a time that he long awaited on many a day. Detention was out!
The boy was happy to ditch this place and go home, but of course, a sound from the room he had been passing by was enough to turn his attention over to the doorway. In the computer lab, there sat a girl who was in the same grade as Ryu. Of course he knew her... sort of... he knew her name at least. But anyway, what was she doing in there alone so late?
"Oi, Kazai-chan," his greeting was suddenly blurted out as he stepped through the doorway. "What're you doing here so late?"

"Gah!"
It was an overreaction to say the least, but as soon as the Ishida boy spoke to her, she threw what seemed to be a bit of a temper, even though it was only for a moment. She quickly calmed herself down. She had simply allowed herself to get too focused in her own work and realized that she had acted a bit over the top.
"Sorry. I was just focusing..." Kazai said as she closed out of the window and began to turn off the computer. She'd hit the start menu and then finally click "shut down" button, after which the computer began to log off. She rolled around in her chair to face the young spikey-haired blond. Ishida Ryutaro. She knew him by name.
"I was working on a project," she answered his question. "About to go home I guess."

His eyes found the screen of the computer the girl had been working on. Before he could get a good look though, she had already closed it out. Nah, it didn't matter, Ryu probably wouldn't have even understood the project, whatever it was about. "Oh... no problem."
Crossing his arms over his chest now, he began to think on the topic. It concerned him slightly, buuut not so much that he was going to freak out. "I hope it's not a project for our class..." because if that was the case... then he'd definitely forgotten all about having to do a dumb project. Not to mention it was still weird for him to see someone actually choosing to remain here at the school so late, just to work on an assignment.

"No. Not at all," Kazzai answered his question. She then stood up from her chair, pushing it in. She had no reason to remain here any longer, but no reason to really rush home either. Her parents would probably figure out that she hadn't gone to martial arts practice when they went there to pick her up... or she could always just call them. But in any case, there was no reason to rush.
"It's for my online university class," she answered his question. "Though in all honesty, I hate working on the computer. However, the real question here is what are you doing here this late?"
Kazai asked him. She raised a skeptical eyebrow. She knew that he wasn't the type to stay after school and get ahead in his work. She never had seen him roaming around the computer lab. Though the more that she thought about it, the more that she came to realize how little she actually cared. She crossed her arms as she awaited an answer.

SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED!
What's this? Digidestined without their digimon partners?! Well that won't do, you two are being pursued by kidnapping criminals and monsters that want to whisk you away! It's dangerous out there! Suddenly each and every computer in the room begins to light up, a glowing white pulse emitting throughout the lab. The two computers beside Kazai and Ryutaro spew out a small, spherical shape! It's your digivice! And it doesn't end there... two little in-training digimon are making their way out, too!
CONGRATULATIONS, KAZAI AND RYUTARO. YOU HAVE DISCOVERED YOUR DIGIMON PARTNERS!

A university class... that seemed odd. Ryu had no idea the girl in front of him was so smart. It was a weird discovery, yet not half so weird as what was about to happen. "Me? Oh uh.... detention..." which made him pretty much Kazai's opposite it seemed... When he revealed the information aloud to her, it actually made him feel a little embarrassed, he couldn't figure why though.
The computers suddenly began to behave... strangely. Even the ones that had been off a moment ago. The strange bright light took Ryutaro aback. "What's going on?! Is this a part of your project??" well, what else could it be? Obviously this wasn't normal, those computers were supposed to be off. And he had just watched her turn that one computer off a second ago, but now it was on again and doing the same thing as the rest of the computers, except... a strange device materialized out of the screen.
Suddenly, the boy found a weird orangey-red object in his hand, a device that he couldn't for the life of him explain how it had gotten there. He opened his mouth, about to utter something else in confusion, but was instead met with another larger object - he could swear it had eyes - that crashed into his stomach. It knocked him to the floor and Ryutaro landed with an "Oof...!"

Finding out that Ryutaro was there for detention really wasn't that much of a surprise, but what would happen next really was a surprise. The computers would all turn back on and soon a digital device would fire toward Kazai. She turned around and caught that digivice in her hand as though she had almost been expecting it, though it was truly nothing of the sort. She simply had a very good reaction time.
After this, two in-training digimon would fly out from the computer. The two of them had very firey appearances. They were like little fireballs. How odd. Kazai simply took a few steps back, standing next to Ryutaro, who now was on his back upon the floor.
"What th-?"

Ryutaro lifted his head, and soon he was realizing that the thing that had collided into his stomach was some sort of... fireball? "Who are you?!" it growled.
Funny question... Ryu wanted to ask this creature the very same thing about itself. What it was, what it was doing here, how in the world got here?! But the creature's eyes were staring into his own with such a strict, serious look to them that the boy was afraid he might anger it if he asked such things.
"Ishida Ryutaro..." he answered with an eyebrow raised skeptically. His chest was beginning to feel as though it was burning, the heat the creature was giving off was too much for him to handle much longer. Before Ryu even had time to think about it, he swiped his arm at the fireball animal, knocking it off of his stomach. Then he scrambled to his feet and stared down at the strange thing. Wait... there were two of them?! Oh man...
"Either I'm hallucinating, or I fell asleep in detention aaand I'm dreaming right now..."

"You didn't forget already, did you silly? He's your partner!" DemiMeramon would say excitedly to her little Digital Friend after he asked who Ryutaro was. In any case, DemiMeramon then flew to her own partner, Kazai, and began running circles around the girl's head as quickly as she possibly could. She was doing her best to size the girl up. She then stopped and hovered a few inches in front of the girl's face.
"I'm DemiMeramon! I like you."
Kazai simply looked at the Digimon. She wasn't in awe or shocked, or at least her expression didn't reveal it. She didn't particularly care what it was that the Digimon had to say. But she did believe this was happening. Kazai didn't usually have crazy dreams which would involve weird creatures like this.
"That's nice." Kazai answered simply. She then signed, and put the little digital device in her pocket. Why she was keeping it, she didn't even know.

No... No wait a second. "No, it can't be a dream!" the boy said with a seemingly sudden grasp on things. "Because why would I ever dream of Kazai," he nodded finally, at his own reasoning nonetheless. Then he glanced back at the girl, and his curiosity caused him to poke her a few times in the shoulder.
The fireball narrowed its eyes at Ryutaro. "No, I just thought this yellow-haired thing was some sort of ugly digimon..." it answered the other fiery creature. But now DemiMeramon was able to see that they were in a place foreign to them, and the two beings in front of him and his sister were certainly no digimon. "You're a human then," the little digimon resolved as he stared up at his supposed 'partner'. He had been expecting more... this one looked like a weakling in DemiMeramon's eyes.

Kazai rolled her eyes at Ryutaro's statement. Not that she wanted to be in his dreams anyway, but it was still a rude thing for him to say, especially when dreams were out of someone's control. In any case, she was simply going to ignore his statement. The funny thing was, though all of this, she didn't even really care what the floating Fireballs were. It didn't matter. It didn't seem like they wanted to hurt her, and if they didn't, nothing else mattered.
"I'm going to go now," she said to the DemiMeramon which stood in front of her. She was going to head on her way out. After all, she had no reason to be here any longer, and she didn't particularly care to converse with either the boy or the Digimon. Nonetheless, DemiMeramon would fly in front of Kazai as she walked toward the door and race in circles around her head.
"WAAAIT! Do you have food, miss?! I'm hungry!" She screamed out much louder than what was necessary. Kazai's eye would only begin to twitch. Hungry? The thing had the nerve to ask her for food when they had only just met. Nonetheless, Kazai reached into her purse and pulled out a chocolate candy bar. She peeled it open and reached out to give it to DemiMeramon.
"Here," she said nonchalantly as she waited for the Digimon to take it. However, instead of taking it, the DemiMeramon began eating the bar as Kazai held it up. This would make Kazai's eyes twitch even more. Nonetheless, she continued to hold it out.
"Mmmm... Yummy!"

"So... you're a DemiMera... thing too?" there was no denying it, the two fireball creatures looked exactly the same. Ryu had heard the other one tell Kazai what it was earlier, so he figured the one at his feet had to be the same thing.
"DemiMeramon," the creature grunted, gazing up at Ryutaro with a look of doubt in its eyes.
Wait. "You're going home now? Aren't we gonna try to find out where these... things came from?" he noticed the chocolate bar, and the fact that Kazai had been halted in the doorway by one of the critters. She didn't seem the least bit fazed and that... that was weird. Ryutaro was curious! He wanted to know what the heck had just happened, what the heck was going on, what was he supposed to do with a little two-eyed fireball that didn't even seem to like him?

Kazai continued to hold out the chocolate bar as the DemiMeramon continued to eat and nibble the food. She turned around to face Ryutaro again, though still held the food out in front of her for the Digimon to eat. She took note of the questions he was asking her.
"Curiosity killed the cat," she answered his question plainly and simply. She then looked at him with a rather skeptical look. It wasn't hard to read her thoughts. Her eyes were calling him a moron. But after a moment or two, she faced back at the little monster eating from her hand before rolling her eyes yet again like a typical hormonal teenager..
"Monsters come out of a computer, and you want to find out more about them?" She voiced her opinion as a cynic. "Your funeral. Haven't you ever watched a horror movie before? They go searching for the monsters and get killed," she explained.
"I'm not going to die for such stupidity."

This time, Ryu's left eye began to twitch slightly when he noticed the look Kazai was giving him. "Stupid. Since the monsters are already here, we should find out why. I don't wanna search for any more of them either," he hmphed and crossed his arms over his chest stubbornly. How could she not be curious? These weird fiery critters, monsters, whatever they were, they obviously weren't your average class pet. Not only had they appeared out of thin air and a glow from the computer screens, but they could also talk.
"We're from the Digital World," the creature at Ryu's feet interjected in a matter-of-fact tone. It didn't seem to want to bother with food, rather this one was pretty much straight to the point.
The blonde teen bent his legs and crouched down in order to be closer to eye level with DemiMeramon. Seeming to inspect the creature thoroughly, top to bottom and side to side, just with his eyes. It was... real, wasn't it? After some close scrutinization, he couldn't really deny the fact that this floating fireball had no plug or anything. It was about as real as they could get.
