"Wh-what are you doing to me?!” Latch seemed pretty shocked and confused to see that Dracmon was actually crying, never having expected such a thing from the twisted man before him. It was such a human thing for the other to do, a sort of behavior he honestly did not expect from the dark one at all. The boy couldn't even speak really with just how blown away he was, just from the fact his words had had such an effect on the man he so believed to beyond such things... He didn't know why he thought this, even he could see specks of humanity in Dracmon. He supposed it was just that with how much he hated the other he couldn't bring himself to fully recognize them or he didn't want to see it really, he really wanted to believe Mouse's partner was just a deranged monster.
It was so much easier if he thought like this, it made it so much easier to hate him and blame anything and everything that had gone badly that night or even between the girl and the digimon on Dracmon. That way he wasn't at fault for anything, he hadn't divided them it was all the rookie's fault, it was all so easy to say and think things like this... It made it easier to hate him. This was probably a terrible way to think, and it probably almost matched Dracmon's views on him and why he hated him so much. To the man, Latch had ruined everything and anything between Mouse and stuck a wall up between them, and the boy was fully aware of this.
He really found it hard to believe that there even was a wall up between them though... It didn't exactly seem to him like Mouse hated him or anything. In fact Latch was pretty sure the first words he had heard her speak upon finding her were directed towards Dracmon. The boy would deny building up any walls or causing any sort of separation, because he really didn't think he had caused any. He thought this was simply the man hating and blaming him for everything he perceived to have gone wrong."I WOULD NEVER HURT HER! Mouse.. you hear me don't you? I wouldn't... he would but I wouldn't please know that!"He seemed momentarily stung at the last part of what Dracmon said, taking a very small step back and giving a faint shake of his head. His heart caught in his throat as he noticed that there were tears coming from Mouse's eyes, a sensation he couldn't really remember feeling... It was awkward and suffocating, making it difficult to swallow and breathe. "...I wouldn't... not now... I swear..." He murmured quietly, almost helplessly as he felt his anger sort of shrink back a little and then come back again. This whole situation was just becoming harder to deal with, and he wasn't used to feeling these kinds of emotions... He was always shoving these back and refusing to acknowledge them, ones of sadness, fear, and desperation for someone to believe in him since he could hardly believe in himself sometimes.
That begged the question that if not even he had faith in himself, was he worth the faith of others at all? Most people would most likely say no, as he could remember something that he had heard once... 'If you can't believe in yourself, why should anyone else?'. Latch was starting to think maybe in a way Dracmon was right, and he didn't deserve any of Mouse's attention... But he abruptly shoved those thoughts away, really not wanting to find himself agreeing with the man ever again. He just kept his eyes on the girl until her partner's voice caught his attention again, eyes slowly traveling back up to the man's."You know a little about hypnotism don't you? They say... you can't hypnotize anyone into doing something they don't want to do."No... That couldn't be true... Because... Then that would mean..."You nearly killed your partner because you WANTED to! Just as Mouse isn't fighting against me because she doesn't want to! HAHAHA! And to think I was worried!""NO! SHUT UP!" Latch demanded, his voice raising to a shout as he tried to find a way to get away from these accusations. He couldn't want his partner dead, he wasn't that disgusting... Was he? The boy's eyes went to Koromon and he watched the digimon a moment, the still lifeless look in his partner's eyes making him shudder and look away. He suddenly didn't know what to do with himself and his head was starting to ache, the dark spore sending out waves of pain from where it lay embedded within his neck.
He closed his eyes in a wince and brought a hand to his head, letting out a small gasp as the pain started to climb drastically. The boy was still resisting his anger but just barely, and it was taking all of his effort and energy to keep it chained up. Latch took a step back and gave a shaken exhale as he tried to calm himself and keep himself under control, after a few moments managing to speak despite everything. "I don't... want him dead... I didn't... want to hurt him... I was weak..." Thinking he was weak and actually admitting it were two different things, and for the latter this was a first.
Latch opened his eyes and looked at Koromon again, a pained look in his eyes due to the terrible headache he was starting to develop. "...Koromon..... I... I'm sorry... I..." He trailed off at this, eyes shutting again as the pain in his head grew and actually brought him down to his knees. The boy wondered... Was he starting to go back to how he was before, always angry and unable to say things like 'sorry'? Was that why he was experiencing such pain, because he was denying his true nature?
He didn't want to go back to how he had been though, not now that he'd had a taste of normalcy... Of calm, of not being angry every second of every waking hour of everyday at seemingly absolutely nothing. Latch wanted to stay how he had been this whole week, he wanted to stay calm and not be ticked off at every little thing... Was that really too much to ask when he'd been so needlessly angry for the last 10 or so years of his life? He had already wasted so much time and energy at being so pointlessly violent that it nearly made him sick, that was what this week had made him realize. He couldn't go back to the way he had been, he just couldn't.

ARACHNEMON the SHEPHERD
[/sup] Oh yes oh yes oh no oh yes. She found them, she really did! She felt so happy and giddy! She circled around the area several times, a web dragging along the ground behind her as she did. She was not doing it on purpose or for some trap, though she should have thought to do so. Instead she simply ended up making a mess for someone else to ponder about later. For now her actions was more like pacing rather than any sort of amazing plotting. She wanted to go GO go GET THEM but she was rather sure she had to wait.
No wait she could do it yes she could get them and HURT THEM HEEEE okay okay yes she can do this. She will do this right. She will do this right and he will love her. HEEEEE will love her so much. So grateful.
She could sense digimon, but could only see one. One was hidden. But they were both weak. Neither of them were as strong as her. She could get them she could rip them apart to tiny pieces of she so pleased!
They seemed to be enemies, they were being aggressive toward each other.
She forced herself low to the ground and skittered forward, forearms helping to steady her movements. Her mouth jerked open wide and acid spat out toward the one who happened to be closest to her when she decided to charge. Her mission was retrieval... but she did not care what condition they were in so long as they were alive.
Latch was in danger.

"NO! SHUT UP!"
Latch's anger was simply intoxicating. With each angry shout and cry Dracmon felt that he was slowly becoming more and more victorious, unable to wipe away his cocky grin. Yes, in no time he'd be so broken and give into his darkness that Dracmon wouldn't have to worry about this disgusting boy meddling in his and Mouse's affairs any longer. Soon he'd be rendered to nothing.
"I don't... want him dead... I didn't... want to hurt him... I was weak..."
. . . ?
"...Koromon..... I... I'm sorry... I..."
Dracmon's visible eye widened to see that Latch had actually been pained by his accusation, stepping back and gripping his skull as he fought against his dark spore. He hadn’t been expecting that from Latch at all... and of Dracmon's rage suddenly went cold, watching the boy as he proclaimed he wouldn’t hurt Mouse and claiming he didn’t want to see Koromon die… or hurt. Dracmon had been under the impression that Latch had given in to his darkness, that he actually enjoyed harming things…then to say something like he was weak? To admit to something like that...
To further his surprise, Latch then apologized to Koromon..something he had never had expected someone like him to do. The digimon watched the pained human in disbelief–but Dracmon was slowly discovering that all his own pain and anger had left his body. This boy… perhaps… he wasn’t so dim after all. Could he really not enjoy harming things anymore? Would a mindless brute have summoned up the courage and swallowed the pride to be able to admit that they were weak and apologize to the ones they hurt?
"...What...?" Dracmon began, speaking in an uncertain tone that was completely lacking in hostility, unsure of how to continue to vocalize his thoughts. "You...are actually sorry?" It the first time speaking to him without a hint of anger or sarcasm.. but something genuine that he had only ever used with Mouse. He simply stared at Latch, awaiting an answer…. Allowing his heart and mind to open this one and only time for this boy that his human partner had come to adore.
Perhaps this was why she did... perhaps, it was because Mouse knew that Latch struggled with his darkness as much as she did. And if anything, Dracmon found himself willing to admire such a fighter…even if it meant Latch being favored over him. He couldn’t go against her wishes if that were the case… he simply respected her too much.
Suddenly a faint tapping sound made it's way to Dracmon's auds, causing his head to turn in all directions before he'd hear Latch's answer. That smell...it smelled like... another digimon?!
His gaze finally fell on Arachnemon. Why didn't he catch that scent earlier!? Did this damn matrix dull all his senses?! Dracmon's single eye snapped open to see a the acid flying towards the boy's back, a dirty trick. He even considered letting the attack hit for half a second–how that'd teach the boy a lesson for telling Dracmon where he fit in with the world. However... things were different now.
The darkness inhabiting Dracmon had subsided for the moment being, and Latch was proving to be less of an idiot that he had thought originally. Not to mention... if something horrible happened to Latch (like, say, a giant wad of acid burning a hole in his body) Mouse would be sad. That was probably the only reason Dracmon was going to allow himself to believe why he'd ever defend Latch–despite the fact he may have actually respected the boy now.
Dracmon mutely dashed forward to grip Latch roughly by the shoulders and throw him aside with all the strength the rookie-now-human could manage. The moment the ultimate digimon's acid met his human body he released an deafening, pain-stricken scream. It was to the point his voice began cutting out from the sheer volume of it,
"AAAAAGHHHH!!"
His human appearance immediately bursted into a cloud of data, unable to sustain that body for much longer as the disguise matrix that he had attached to his chest flew right off and rolled a few paces away. Dracmon's small body fell to its knees as the data that made him up began to shift and spasm, trying its best to keep his form. It was no doubt some kind of miracle that he was able to survive an ultimate-level's attack, but hung on by the skin of his teeth.
Needless to say, Mouse and Koromon's curse was lifted after that moment. She took in a horrible breath of air as if she was just saved from drowning, clutching Koromon close to her as she suddenly realized what was happening. With the most volume she had shouted in several years, she rushed towards her digimon partner–despite whether or not she was conscious during his verbal battle with Latch. "DRACMON!"
Finally, only he existed to her–even if it was just this moment. Mouse fell to her knees right in front of the Arachnid digimon to scoop up her fallen partner before he could fall on his face. After setting Koromon down gently next to her, she cradled Dracmon's glitching body–close to her, both rendered speechless by this sudden turn of events.

Latch was completely unaware of Dracmon's surprise at what he had said and what he was currently fighting against, all that existed to him for the moment was pain. This ache was comparable to the one that he had felt that night as he fought against the rookie's mind control spell, and he knew that if it did not fade soon then he would be considerably weakened from all the energy that this was costing him. This was really the first time in his life that he had legitimately fought against the dark spore's impulses, as for all the years that he had been like this he had just thought it was how he was. However something about that didn't seem right, no one was just this inherently violent... There had to be something to it, something he could resist.
Before it was just that he never really stopped to think about it this way, that there was really nothing to think about. These days of calmness though seemed to have taught him that he didn't necessarily have to be angry, that there had to be a way for him to yank it back and keep it chained up... To keep himself from fighting everyone like he did. The light from that digimental had been what had done it, it had managed to soothe him in a way that he had never felt and despite not knowing how or why it had managed to give him hope that maybe he could eventually learn to control his anger. Preferably without having to go through a major migraine every time of course, but if not that didn't mean he would necessarily give up on trying."You...are actually sorry?"The boy just barely heard Dracmon over the angry pulse of discomfort in his mind, gritting his teeth as he refrained from making any noise. However he had just barely managed to catch how different the man's tone of voice was... Void of hatred and hostility, and merely conveying surprise. He supposed that it was so mind blowing because of how he came off, a violent young man who wanted nothing more than to cause pain to others and watch them writhe and scream. This was not and had not ever truly been what Latch wanted though, all he had ever been wanting was what happened after the fight was over and done with; the calm, the peace giving in and feeding the dark spore brought.
Latch might have tried to nod or something to show he had heard but he just couldn't, he could barely keep himself from crying out with how much his head hurt. Nodding would have probably just made it worse, and he knew he probably wouldn't be able to even speak for the moment. However he almost thought that maybe it was just barely starting to fade, if only a little bit. Dracmon's anger had sort of been contributing and feeding his own, and now that the other's hostility seemed to have gone away so was the boy's.
Even so there was no way he could have noticed the arachnid digimon's approach, not with how hazy everything was from his inner battle. He gave a faint sway to the side almost, like he just might collapse from all the effort he had expended in his endeavor to stay in control of himself. Latch opened his eyes a tiny bit, vision terribly blurred for a few moments from the pain that still remained in his head before it started to clear. He barely even seemed to have a grasp on the current situation though, and he was certainly unaware of any impending danger... And therefore completely unaware of the acid heading straight for his back.
Because of just how out of it he was he felt complete and total confusion as he suddenly felt his shoulders in a rough grip, before quickly being thrown aside by the same hands. As his body hit the ground the haze lessened some, blinking and trying harder to come to his senses and shake off all that the pain had done to him. Latch finally seemed to realize that something was probably going on, as that hadn't exactly felt like something that was supposed to hurt him. He might be a tiny bit scuffed up from skidding on the ground a little bit but he was otherwise fine...But he somehow didn't exactly even know who had thrown him."AAAAAGHHHH!!" [/sup] The agonized yell that Dracmon gave made his eyes snap open and rather abruptly caused the haze to clear, as he watched in a surprised and nearly almost scared silence as the digimon's human faded and the matrix flew off to the side. Latch's eyes didn't leave the dark rookie, a perplexed look in them as he struggled to process what had just happened. Dracmon had... Saved him from that? But why on earth would the other do that, the boy didn't understand... Dracmon hated him, didn't he?
He watched numbly as the rookie fell to his knees, watching the digimon's body glitch as it struggled to keep itself together... Dracmon wasn't dying, was he? For a moment Latch almost wondered why he cared but that seemed so wrong to think now, after the digimon might have very well just sacrificed himself so that he could live. At Mouse's yell the boy blinked and his eyes finally moved from Dracmon a moment to watch the girl rush over, his own digimon set down so the dark rookie could take Koromon's place in his own partner's arms. The in training digimon had seen what transpired, and he felt some of his dislike for the other dissolve some if not all the way.
Koromon had saved Mouse from being hurt and now Dracmon had saved Latch so most think some sort of debt had been repaid... But with how hurt the rookie was the in training saw it as an opportunity to pay him back or possibly avenge him by warding off their attacker. However he was much... Much weaker than the ultimate that had attacked him, and he knew that if that attack had hurt Dracmon that badly he would certainly be deleted. He was about to try an attack anyway though, when Latch suddenly got up and ran over to stand between them and Arachnemon, anger burning in his eyes. It wasn't the rage they usually carried though, this emotion for once had purpose and was directed at something, it didn't come from the dark spore's ill intentions... He wasn't sure where it came from actually.
Now that the boy was here and glaring at the arachnid digimon he realized he had no plan beyond this, and that they were outmatched. "What the hell do you want?!" He didn't know why he bothered yelling at it really, in all honesty Latch thought the thing he was facing looked pretty stupid. Speaking of stupid things yelling at a giant acid spitting monster probably wasn't one of his more brilliant moves, and he was wishing he had been able to think of something before rushing over. There just wasn't any time though, something needed to happen, or they'd all get killed.
[ KOROMON DIGIVOLVE TO . . . _ ]
[ BLACKAGUMON! _]
Latch blinked as he suddenly found a rather angry looking BlackAgumon at his side, complete with a menacing growl directed at the spider digimon. "SPITFIRE!" Before the boy could even do anything, the reptilian digimon had already spewed a fireball at their opponent but he felt as if this may not be enough. He was about to maybe mention this to his partner, but the rookie had already thrown himself at Arachnemon and sank his fangs into one of the ultimate's legs. Latch froze a split second, as he realized just how much danger the digimon had put himself in... Didn't BlackAgumon know this thing could kill him?
"You idiot, you're gonna get yourself killed!" Despite the anger in Latch's voice, there was also a sense of urgency and panic. He glanced back towards Dracmon and Mouse a moment before he rushed forward himself, despite what he had just said. He didn't know what else to do, he couldn't just stand there and let his own partner be murdered. Ne couldn't just stand there and do nothing, even if what he was doing right now was completely idiotic... The fact was even if he wasn't really stupid, he wasn't all that great at seeing the consequences of his actions.
Not like they mattered to him right now though, all he wanted to do was get BlackAgumon out of there.

ARACHNEMON the SHEPHERD
[/sup] The scream, oh! The beautiful shriek of pain! Arachnemon practically moaned out of sheer adoration of the sound, the excited energy it shot through her. The only thing that stunted her heightened emotions was the fact that the one who was screaming was not the one that she had originally intended to hit. That was okay, though. She now knew where the second digimon was. Of course. Those... things. That allowed digimon to walk like a human.
Pitiful. Why would they willingly do so. Why would they willingly put on the flesh of something so weak. Deception. Deception was the only reason, yet he was simply DOING it, it seemed. They knew THEY KNEW THAT WAS HIM ANYWAY so what was the point. Pitiful. She spat again (though this time it was not an attack, nor was it aimed at them) as another weak sack rushed toward the digimon (this one a real human). She bristled and licked at her lips.
"Weak and pitiful." she uttered, voice high and giggly.
That was not even a strong attack for her. That acid was to her the equivalent of a child hawking up a loogy to spit into some unfortunate girl's hair. She began to work her hands together, a web forming between them. She had done damage, and now the retrieval part of her mission must be completed. How disappointing. This was not a fight. This could have very easily been a slaughter. That was okay, though. That was how she preferred it.
She blinked when the other human who she had targeted earlier decided to put some big boy pants on and step in between her and the others. "What the hell do you want?!" he shouted at her. How adorable, he thought he could actually do something about her. She let out a malicious giggle, all of her sharp feet shifting in excitement.
"I want you in my web." she said simply, holding up the enlarging net constantly being weaved between her hands. Her lip curled and she spread the web between her and the ball of fire that had been thrown at her. Oh her pretty web, it was now on fire. She shook it from her hands and let it fall to the ground, still burning. "That was rude THAT WAS RUDE."
She let out a short shriek as little fangs dug into one of her legs. It was not that it hurt that much, it was more the surprise of it. Not to say it did not hurt, of course. Her hand jerked down to grab the little piece of trash by its neck and YANK it off while her other hand curled into a fist to punch the little human away. Fast, high-pitched giggles escaped her as she did this.

M O U S E .
"Mousey...I'm so sorry." Dracmon tilted his head towards Mouse, glitching still as his voice cut out with each breath. Seeing how much pain he was in...seeing that this was what she wanted to happen to people... it made her feel sick.. it made her never want to see it again. "As much as I h-a-–te being clich-–iche. I think my/my/my time's running out a––nd wh––at better moment to apologize but when I'm about to g–o?"
That's was like Dracmon, to worry about being cliche at a moment like this. Sure, it was cliche. A dying friend in the arms of another, their last words being an apology – but Mouse couldn't care about that... not now. How could he think about looking good at a time like this?! Mouse felt his weight shifting each time his data tried to escape from his solid form, which only caused her to hold him closer to her. She couldn't lose him... she wouldn't allow it... Somehow Mouse hoped that the tears falling from her eyes now and her bitten lip would have caused some kind of magic that'd keep him there - seeing she she refused to allow herself to cry for the past three or four years.
But no such magic happened... She even gave his small body a few little shakes to try and wake him from the slumber he seemed to be drifting in and out of. "Dracmon...Dracmon..." she fumbled with herself, trying to find the words that'd keep him there with her. "You can't...you can't go... you're my best friend..."
The moment she heard herself speak she came to the heart wrenching realization that her best friend was dying in her arms. He had always been there for her, had fought for her... unlike anyone else ever had. And if it weren't for him she would have never seen Latch in the light she could see him in now, and they all would have never been friends. She would be virtually alone if it weren't for her partner digimon. Mouse owed everything to him and she had been afraid of him... when really in the end he was just trying to protect her. The girl brought Dracmon up as she knelt down futher, pressing her forehead against his as little tears rolled down her cheeks and onto him. All she could think of doing was to whisper desperately, pleading for him to stay with her, "You can't die...Dracmon...please don't die... I love you."
. . . Mouse.
The words that he had been yearning to hear finally came to him and Dracmon barely had the strength to smile. The demon reached up to gently take her cheek and weakly wipe away some of her tears away. Yes... those three little words. Not even Mouse knew that she was capable of saying them to anyone else and truly meaning it, but she had, and Dracmon was the happiest he had ever been even if it quite wasn't the type of love he had first looked for in her. He understood now, and it was a shitty time to start understanding. The digimon struggled to find the words appropriate - but only managed a short laugh, then went completely still in her arms.
She stared at her lifeless partner, shaking him gently in her arms before snapping her head back and sobbing without a sound. It was her fault... she had lost him... this never would have happened if she'd just–
Mouse's attention was suddenly brought back to what the hell had attacked him in the first place. That spider woman... Mouse stared at her completely fixated as Latch rushed ahead to save BlackAgumon from being killed. Why couldn't... why didn't she do that earlier? The girl silently admired Latch's courage... and she knew that... she'd never be like him. It was her fault that Dracmon had nearly died in the first place...
But suddenly everything changed when she saw Arachnemon's hand go to BlackAgumon's neck and her hand balled into a fist to punch away Latch.
"Please! Don't..." Mouse caught herself, eyes wide and glancing down at her dying partner in her arms. The last time she begged someone with the intent to hurt to stop... nothing happened. She could ask plead all she wanted but they would never give into her wishes. No... it was time to stop asking. The girl hugged Dracmon's body close to her... how much he had sacrificed for her happiness and she hadn't once sacrificed herself for the good of him or anyone else. It was her turn to be strong, now. Strong for Latch, BlackAgumon, and Dracmon. She wouldn't hang back and watch them suffer again!
Mouse came to her feet and stood across Arachnemon with a new shine in her eyes, stil holding Dracmon close to her as he continued to break and glitch until she found all the strength inside of her and Dracmon to shout at the arachnid,
"DON'T HURT MY FRIENDS!"
[/sup]
Mouse was caught by surprise as a loud screeching emitting from her pocket. The moment she looked down to see the digivice's light spilling through, Dracmon's body began to glow and float from out of her arms. At first, she figured that this was the moment he died... however her feelings of fear were suddenly overridden by the light that had engulfed them both. It was then the eyes in Dracmon's palms snapped open, suddenly filled with life.
Dracmon's skin shredded into smaller bits of data as the coding beneath it began to shift and change. His claws grew larger, and his tail thicker with a flurry of sparking wires instead of a spade. His small wings unfolded from around his body into an impressive wingspan, and two burning red eyes were formed where his hidden ones once were. No longer was his perpetually smiling, but snarling now as his maw was sealed with sharp metal fangs.
[ DRACMON DIGIVOLVE TO . . . _ ]
[ D E X D O R U G A M O N ! _]
"Oooh~" DexDorugamon cooed in a far deeper and matured voice... though he still sounded like his cocky old self. While he stretched his new wings he took his time to look his new form over. The newly-digivolved cyborg turned his head to glance at Mouse for only a moment before spreading his wings and dashing forward in swift flight to clamp his metal jaws down against Arachnemon's windpipe as his hazardous tail went to snap around the arm that had aimed to punch Latch. "Impressive as always, Mousey!"
Mouse stared in awe at her partner, but didn't take much time to marvel at it. All she did... all she could do at the moment... was send him an acknowledging nod while following him into the fray, reaching for Latch's hand to pull him out of the way of Arachemon's strike.

Latch was only vaguely aware of what was going on behind him between Mouse and Dracmon, not at all because he didn't care or anything like that... It was just that he had to focus on saving his partner and not getting hurt in the process. He had wanted to hang back really and see if the rookie would survive, oddly enough now hoping that he really would. The boy owed Dracmon his life now because of that little stunt the rookie had pulled, and also he knew that loosing her partner would without a doubt be the worst thing imaginable. He knew he'd probably feel responsible too, after all the digimon's life would have been lost because he had sacrificed it to safe his pathetic backside.
He has to wonder for a moment... Just where had all that hatred he once had for Dracmon go? Sure there were still some lingering traces with in him but it was basically just gone, almost as if it had never even been there to begin with. Latch then wondered if BlackAgumon felt the same way, though somehow he knew that his partner shared these sentiments. He didn't know how or why he knew, it was just an unshakable feeling he had.
The boy had to stop thinking about all of that for the time being though, he had to save his idiotic partner from getting himself killed. He nearly couldn't believe that BlackAgumon had down that... But then realized it only meant his partner could be just as reckless as he was when he was angry or felt threatened. Latch and the digimon were similar in many ways, most of which he hadn't yet or cared not to notice. Maybe that would change now though, now that he was so different than he used to be.
As he saw Arachnemon go to pull BlackAgumon off her leg and then the fist coming towards him, Latch suffered a nosedive in his confidence that both he and his partner would get out of this alive. He could see it already really, his partner's body glitching like Dracmon's and himself being dragged off a bleeding and bloody mess by the spider. And Mouse... He really found that he didn't want to think about what might happen to her if that happened, he didn't want to even see it as his mind kept pushing the images at him. It was frustrating and distracting, to the point where he almost didn't know if he could dodge the attack in time."DON'T HURT MY FRIENDS!"...?
Next thing he knew some large... Dragon thing was between him and the spider, DexDorugamon's tail having caught Arachnemon's arm with the fist just inches away from him. Latch honestly almost looked scared, his eyes wide as he stared at the fist that had almost sent him flying back. The boy gave a kind of shaken breath, taking a small step back as the fist seemed to lurch forward a bit. He was snapped out of his trance as Mouse grabbed his hand to pull him away, though he might as well have just slipped into yet another trance.
For a moment, amidst all the fighting and chaos... He pretty much just felt like any boy might if their hand was grabbed by a girl. However this didn't last much longer than a second though, as Latch knew he didn't have the time to be spacing out like some lovesick teenager... Plus he felt stupid for it anyway. He looked over to the arachnid digimon, suddenly stopping as he realized BlackAgumon was still in her grasp. His was trying so hard to keep his fangs dug into the ultimate's leg, ignoring the pain of being yanked by the neck.
He realized at this point just how weak and powerless he felt as he watched the spider digimon finally pry the rookie from her leg, not knowing what to do to help him. Arachnemon was capable of nearly killing Dracmon, he had no idea just how much damage BlackAgumon could take before he was deleted... And he really didn't want to think about it either. An almost desperate look entered his eyes as he watched what was going on, wracking his brain for anything he might be able to do. After a moment he pulled his digivice from his pocket, staring at it as if expecting it to somehow make his partner more able to fight back.
"come on you stupid thing, DO SOMETHING!" He was fully aware that he was yelling at an inanimate object that could neither listen to or disobey his demand, but that obviously hadn't stopped him from doing so. "don't... let him... die..." He murmured helplessly, though at the same time he seemed almost angry. It was all self directed though, at the fact that he wasn't strong enough to save BlackAgumon himself. He wanted to be able to help BlackAgumon, he wanted to help his partner... He wanted to help his friend.
[ BLACKAGUMON ARMOR DIGIVOLVE TO . . . _ ]
[ RAIDRAMON! _]
Latch blinked and looked up from the digivice, which had started to glow and make all manners of beeping noises to see something that... Was a lot bigger than BlackAgumon. The quadruped dragon-like creature had easily broken free of Arachnemon's grip, brown eyes glaring at the spider digimon as electricity crackled from his very being. The boy blinked and looked the new beast over, noting the thunderbolt shaped horn and the armor that was fitted onto the digimon's body. Somehow it made him think of the digimental he had received, for despite how fierce Raidramon looked he seemed to give off the same sort of feeling... At least to him anyway.
"ELECTRIC BITE!" Blue energy sparked from the digimon's fangs as he parted his jaws wide and bit down on Arachnemon's arm, electricity sparking from the bite as if he was almost have problems controlling his power. Raidramon really was having some issues with suddenly being this strong, and he was struggling not to put too much power into his attack and waste it. He was like a baby rattlesnake almost, in the way that the creatures couldn't control the amount of venom they put out when they bit something... This made the armor digimon a danger to everyone, but he seemed aware of it judging by his attempts to restrain himself. He also had to take care not to hurt DexDorugamon, especially now that he considered him to be an ally.
Meanwhile Latch still seemed dumbstruck in a way, blinking like he was trying to come out of a trance of some sort. He had asked for help and help had come, in the shape of a giant thunder dragon. Even with everything else that had happened, what with digimon looking like humans and being hypnotized by one a week ago, this still was the weirdest thing. He didn't really know why it was the weirdest out of everything, that just happened to be how it struck him.

ARACHNEMON the SHEPHERD
[/sup] The gushy crap would have probably made Arachnemon vomit had she witnessed it. As it were, instead she found herself dealing with the two puny little fighters. It was kind of hilarious, but she felt a tinge of worry. Was that one over there dying? She was not sure if she was supposed to let them actually die. She would have to make this quick.
Quick was the only advantage she had, and she had lost it. She should have simply killed the digimon. These little creatures could become big. It was such an odd concept for her, but it was something she had been told about and ignored. It was costing her. It was only thanks to being quick that she avoided fatal blows. She was trapped, however.
Jerking backwards in time had earned her windpipe the freedom to breathe, but instead part of her chest and shoulder were sacrificed. Both of her arms ended up trapped. One was in the vicious maw of the beast she had been choking and the other was wrapped up in the electrified tail of the demon at her chest.
"THAT'S RUDE FOR A FIRST DATE!" she burst into giggles, unable to stop herself from cracking that lame joke. In all honesty, she found it hilarious despite her precarious situation. That probably came with being off-kilter.
She jerked herself backwards, her front and back pairs of sharp feet digging hard into the ground while her middle ones arched up to stab at the two digimon. They were lower levels than her, but there were two of them. She needed to fight hard.
To add insult to injury, she attempted to spit at DexDorugamon's eyes. He was so close she could taste him. She tasted metal, blood, and darkness.
"You're alrEADY INFEcted hahahaha..." she giggled her high-pitched giggle. "YOU'RE ALL INFECTED!!"

M O U S E . Mouse kept close to Latch, her fear showing through her grip on his hand. She had been shaking, and yet felt so liberated actually standing up for herself and her new friends. The fact that she had people to call 'friends' at all brought a new life in the girl's eyes. She didn't feel so alone anymore... even if horrible things had to happen for her to realize it... she was grateful.
Mouse watched as Latch pleaded to his digivice - almost feeling like she knew that another miracle would happen. When it did... when BlackAgumon changed into Raidramon just as Dracmon did to DexDorugamon, she smiled. It had been the most confident, relieved smile she had ever shown in front of Latch, and she wasn't afraid to. No, these digivices responded to their wishes whenever they showed their courage... when they voiced their need for them. That assurance alone made her feel like.. maybe it was possible for her to become better.
Maybe it was okay to believe in miracles.
Meanwhile, DexDorugamon kept himself latched onto Arachnemon the best he could throughout her flailing and yelling. She just HAD to make a filthy comment like that - and the rage within DexDorgamon built up inside until it was filtering through his hateful red lenses. He wouldn't allow anyone to speak to him like that, especially some idiot digiomon that had threatened his human – it was disgusting.
If they were going to exchange lame and hateful banter, DexDorugamon wasn't above it. "What can I say? I simply can't keep my HANDS OFF YOU!" the dragon roared, rearing his hind legs up to attempt to sink his claws into her torso. Raidramon's assault was causing little lines of electricity to lick against his body, sending him unwanted shocks throughout this. He stood his ground, however, prepared to hold onto Arachemon for dear life if it meant protecting Mouse.
His maw snapped back as the acidic spit hit his face, causing him to momentarily release his bite. There was a moment or two of complete stillness and silence as the acid seeped into his metal mask. A low laugh emitted from the monster, stunned that he had just been spat on but otherwise appeared unhindered. The fangs that held his maw together so tightly began to unclasp, showing a terrible blood-red light within his mouth. The amount of venom in his voice that he hissed to Arachemon then scared even Mouse - something that had never happened before. "My turn..."
Although there was no way of knowing, the way he positioned his jaws in front of her in such a sudden snapping movement, it almost appeared he had flashed a wicked smile at her. "METAL CAST!" he roared into her face as a bullet-sized orb flew through his mouth, then would expand by one-hundred times if sunk into the skin of Arachnemon in the form of an explosion.
Not once did Mouse let go of Latch's hand.

All he could really was watch as their digimon fought Arachnemon, despite having helped BlackAgumon digivolve still feeling fairly useless. Even with all the fight he had in him, he knew he couldn't raise a fist to that thing... It was capable of ripping him clean in half, or liquefying him with that acid spit of hers. Latch had already nearly been killed by her twice, he had nearly been nothing more than a memory to everyone twice. The boy had to wonder why the spider was even here at all, as he couldn't remember being attacked by a digimon like this before.
What did it want from them, or did it not really want anything other than to maim them and leave them to die? However that didn't seem right... She had said she wanted him in her web... Him specifically. Was he her true target and everyone else just happened to be here, was all of this because of him? Latch couldn't stand to think like that, otherwise he just might have killed all of them.
He really couldn't take thinking he'd just potentially killed everyone aside from his brother who actually seemed to care about him.
Raidramon wasn't about to shy away even as Arachnemon reared up, though as she struck out at them with her legs he found himself knocked back. The claw on the spider digimon foot scraped uselessly against the armor on his chest, but the force was enough to rip his fangs from her arm. He snarled and shook his head a little, tiny lines of electricity crackling between his teeth as he turned to look back at his opponent. The dragon digimon didn't seem at all happy his assault had been interrupted, and went to rush forward again... However he stopped as DexDorugamon called out an attack."METAL CAST!"Both digimon and partner had been a little stunned by the amount of animosity in the cyborg digimon's voice, Latch more so than Raidramon. The boy wasn't sure if DexDorugamon's voice had ever held such contempt within it towards him, though he was sure he would remember if it had. As if sensing Mouse's fear he gave her hand a gentle squeeze, as if to say 'it's okay'. He had to think that too, as things weren't exactly looking good to him unless this one attack had the power to put Arachnemon down.
"LIGHTNING BLADE!"
Latch had sort of known that Raidramon wouldn't just stand idly by and not help out any, though he was still surprised as a blue jolt of lightning went charged from the armor digimon's horn to the ultimate digimon. It was an attempt to stun the enemy digimon and ensure DexDorugamon's attack would hit... But also because he wanted back at her for shoving him back, and making his fangs rip from her arm so suddenly like that. The digimon hoped that the attack wouldn't affect Mouse's partner as well, and from the amount of energy he was putting out it seemed he was still getting used to this sudden upsurge in strength. Raidramon wasn't really aware of how strong he was as a rookie either, so this was almost too much to handle.

ARACHNEMON the SHEPHERD
[/sup] "What can I say? I simply can't keep my HANDS OFF YOU!"
At that, Arachnemon actually burst into loud giggles. Oh so he had a sense of humor too! Well no, she did not doubt that. But in a fight and toward her, ooh how cute! And yes, cute. Even while he dug his claws into her. She stabbed one of her legs upward into him as he did this, letting out a short scream that probably sounded more like it was in ectacy rather than pain. She was not masochistic, though.
"Get off of me GET OFF OF ME!!" she started to thrash. She had to get away. She was in danger. Threads shot out of her fingers and she jerked as best as she could, attempting to slice at her opponents with the blade-like wires.
"METAL CAST!"
... oh... this was...
"LIGHTNING BLADE!"
... haha.... not good....
Arachnemon tried to rear herself back. She did not get far at all, however. Her body tensed up and she ended up letting out a loud shriek. Nothing was responding, she did not even have control over her screaming.
It was that second beast. It had backed off and sent electricity her way. She had been able to ignore his little shocks earlier, but this was too concentrated. It would have only held her for a moment, however. It was nowhere near fatal. A moment was all that was needed, however, for the other digimon to strike.
"nnnNNNNNNOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!"
Her voice cracked as she felt the painful energy strike her. It was dark and beautiful. Oh yes, he was tainted. But he was fighting it. That would not do.
She was high in the air. she was weightless, and she could feel nothing. The night sky.. it was pretty. All those tiny stars. In the digital world, there was endless landscape, but the sky had an ending. This one was infinite. It made her feel small. She was so incredibly small.
Arachnemon's body fell to the ground in a heavy heap. The whole right side of her torso was almost completely gone, as though something large and hungry had taken a bite from her. This included two of her legs - one not completely gone but definitely completely detached - and her right arm (the hand landed near the kids, index finger twitching). Her corpse was already starting to shimmer and glow, the data floating away.
Her head landed not too far away from her body. One horn was gone completely and the other cracked. Her eyes were wide and dull, mouth hung slightly open.
"take my data i love you take it and grow stronger my love"
Her eyes softened and her lips twitched into a little smile as her head started to fall away as data as well.
The ultimate was defeated.

M O U S E . There was a time in Mouse's life where she would have found this whole thing funny. She would have thought that it was no different from watching animals on the farm get slaughtered. However, Arachnemon had a voice... feelings... and had felt the pain caused by DexDorugamon and Raidramon. After the final strike, The digimon blew to pieces (one of which landing so half-hazardly in their direction) and her eyes fell on the head that had been blown clean off her body. The girl didn't know what came over her, but a terrible feeling swelled up more and more inside her until she couldn't keep it in any longer. Watching the life leave Arachnemon's eyes brought her no pleasure or joy, and she turned to press her face into Latch's chest as she gave a muffled scream.
DexDorugamon found himself feeling similar sentiments, watching Arachnemon's data float in the air amongst the stars in silence. Slowly he felt his body becoming weaker and weaker from the acid seeping into his metal mask and eventually getting into his eyes. The dragon snarled, hearing Mouse's scream in his head. What had just happened...what he and Raidramon did... it was terrible.
The digimon's ears flattened hard against his head, watching Arachemon's face with an unreadable expression. Soon he began to glow himself, unable to retain his form any longer, and shrunk back into Dracmon with his hand clasped tightly around his other arm that appeared to have substituted his injuries in his champion-leveled body. He shuffled over to the head, watching it with quiet sympathy. Arachnemon had said she loved him... and while he felt nearly no reciprocating feelings for a digimon that had threatened both his human and her new 'boy toy', he couldn't help but feel a bit sad. He then wondered... was this how Mouse saw him?
He should have been happy at his display of power while in his champion form... Mouse should have been happy, too. Yet, he understood that to treat this victory as a celebration would be rather tasteless. Dracmon had no question in his mind that Arachemon deserved this... but at the same time... perhaps if she had just understood his unyielding love for his human she would have survived.
"Alright." Dracmon choked out, feeling whatever heart he may have had sink into the bottom of his stomach. He would honor Arachnemon's last request, spreading his arms out and letting her data be slowly vacuumed into his body. With each speck, zero and one, he felt her giddiness... her darkness... her joy that she was being taken into him. Yes, he'd use her strength to kill all those who dared threatened Mouse. Arachnemon and he became one, feeling lightly intoxicated by her dark heart, but not weak enough to allow himself to be overwhelmed by it. It must have been her last thought that he had fought his darkness to realize he could.
He was sure to leave some data for Raidramon if he so chose to take it... but if not he'd take every little bit of her, not out of greed but out of respect. Dracmon wouldn't allow such a worthy opponent go to waste in a sea of stars. Her life was now his.
It was strange, really. It was the first time in Dracmon's life where he actually found himself wanting to be forgiven for something he enjoyed doing - and the first time in Mouse's life she found absolutely no pleasure in someone else's pain. Even if they had been an enemy, even if Arachnemon almost killed her partner and Latch... she pitied her fate.
Mouse's body lightly trembled and twitched as she kept her face buried against Latch's shirt, which very well may have grown cold and damp by her hidden tears. When she pulled her face away it was leaking all kinds of liquids that she was desperate to hide from him by bringing up her sleeve to wipe at her red puffy eyes. Maybe it was just that she finally let herself cry today that she was suddenly so emotional... or maybe Arachnemon's death really had been that sad. Was it that it was sad or was it that Dracmon had inflicted such pain unto someone else? He could have warned her away, he could have done his best to scare her... but kill her? Was DexDorugamon somehow different? Not even Raidramon frightened her, at least he had some aura of the digimental...
When she turned, however, to see Dracmon limping towards her... she was just happy to see him okay. Mouse fell to her knees and opened her arms to collect her digimon partner as went to her, pressing his head into her shoulder and whimpering soft apologies for betraying her trust and for having to act so 'tastelessly ruthless' in front of her. The two of them felt themselves glowing with relief that they were together and alive.
Maybe in another life Dracmon would have immediately ran for the dislodged disguise matrix that had taken away his human face... but not now. He wasn't so ashamed of his own anymore.

Latch really had no idea how to react to what he had just seen at all, kind of taking a tiny step back as one of Arachnemon's arms landed near him and Mouse. He had never seen anything die, no humans or animals... And he had certainly never seen a digimon die before now. The boy just simply couldn't figure out how to feel really, nearly feeling almost numb due to the complete stillness of his emotions. He knew that the ultimate digimon had been a threat, he knew that it could have and most likely would have killed them... But had killing it been entirely necessary?
He blinked as the girl beside him suddenly hid her face in his chest, taking a moment before going and putting an arm around her. Such an action was unexpected even to him but he ignored it, just letting her remain there as he watched Arachnemon's data disperse. Latch glanced over at Raidramon a moment, noting the digimon seemed just as lost in how to react as he did. His partner had never fought another digimon to this extent, just like he had certainly never fought a person until they died.
Raidramon shrunk back from the data that was floating in the air almost like he was afraid of it, his eyes looking at the specks like they would contaminate him further if he touched them. He didn't know why he was so unnerved by them, he should be happy that they won, that they protected their partners... Right? The armor digimon was glad that Latch and Mouse were safe, but at the same time he wished there had maybe been a way to just drive Arachnemon off. At the time though it had seemed to him like the only option was to kill her, all that went through his mind the entire fight was 'make her go away'.
And they had, but in the worst sense.
The dragon digimon turned away from what Dracmon had left of the ultimate's data, unable to let himself take it. Somehow it seemed wrong to him, though he didn't entirely understand why. Raidramon had a violent streak, fighting was supposed to be what he did and what he liked... Wasn't it? And this was what digimon were supposed to do, they were supposed to fight and get stronger by absorbing data weren't they?
Then why was it that... Watching Dracmon absorbing Arachnemon's data created a sick feeling in his stomach, like he may as well have eviscerated her and ate her entrails. Raidramon shook his head a little and just stood there, trying to figure himself out. The armor digimon was confusing himself right now, in ways he never thought that he would. He had always believed that if he was in a fight to the death like this he would enjoy every second... But he had been wrong.
Latch had watched his partner throughout all the digimon's thoughts, only bringing his attention back to Mouse as she finally lifted her head. He noticed that his shirt was wet there but he didn't really care, just watching her wipe at her eyes a moment. He wanted to say something to her maybe, something comforting but... He had no idea what, and in the end he just remained quiet. Silence seemed fitting for the moment anyway, as if they were at a funeral or something and this was his moment of silence sort of... Even if Arachnemon had tried to kill him while his back was turned.
He withdrew his arm from Mouse as she went to collect Dracmon, after a moment deciding to go over to Raidramon. The lightning dragon's power hadn't run dry just yet oddly enough, something that surprised Latch give the amount of energy his partner seemed to have put into his attacks. The boy stopped as the armor digimon turned his head to look at him, giving an odd sort of purring noise reminiscent of a noise he remembered from some dinosaur movie. To anyone else it may have just been a noise, but to him it had a meaning; 'I'm glad you're okay'.
Neither of them could really seem to say words of that nature just yet for some reason, so their actions would just have to speak for them. After a moment Latch went forward and leaned his forehead against Raidramon's muzzle, bringing a hand up and resting it on the side of his partner's head. Both partner and digimon exchanged no words yet their movements seemed to constitute as a silent conversation, between two beings who seemed to understand each other more than anyone might ever know. They remained like this a moment or two before the boy pulled away, and the digimon glowed and reverted back to Koromon.
Latch stood there a moment before he went and picked the exhausted in training up, watching him a moment before deciding to go back over to Mouse and Dracmon. He was still quiet for a few moments, and his expression made it seem like he was trying to get himself to say something. The boy had no idea why this was so hard for him though, only seeming to relax a little as Koromon managed to give him a faint nudge. He sighed a tiny bit and then looked to Dracmon, nearly hesitating again before speaking.
"...thank you... for not letting me die."

SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED!The dark night is lit up with a sudden light coming from the soft grass below. At first it merely looks like more of Arachnemon's data that had started floating to the skies, but it was different and moved with a purpose. The light was a soft pink and spread a warmth not unlike a pleasant fire in the dead of winter. It healed wounds as it twirled around them all in wavy arcs before stopping before Mouse. It broke into little pieces, fluttering like butterflies around the girl before entering her digivice, nestling into where it belonged. CONGRATULATIONS, MORISSA GARDNER. YOU HAVE EARNED THE DIGIMENTAL OF LOVE.

M O U S E . Dracmon turned to face Latch, for once his teeth not shown behind a smile but rather somewhat of a surprised frown. Thanking him, eh? After he brandished Mouse in front of him like she was some kind of object and striking him across the face? Of course he only questioned if he deserved forgiveness from the likes of Latch for a few moments before remembering all that he had done for him just now. Sacrificing his life for him... why HAD he done that? Where in the hell had his mind been right then? Dracmon honestly hadn't a clue why he acted the way he did, but he wasn't regretting it. "Hmm~"
He was having a hard time to think of a witty retort or some excuse as to why he did what he did for Latch. It took him a while, and that itself was frustrating. When he went to look at Mouse she was only smiling sadly (but encouragingly) at him, as if knowing that he did it because he had a heart - not out of some debt to be repaid or what not. The expression caused Dracmon to melt into a grumble, letting down his walls for now and turning to point accusingly at Latch.
"Look here, human. The only reason why I risked my life for you was because if I had let you die then my Mousey would have been devastated~♫!" he blurted out a stupid excuse, realizing that it sounded bad as he did it and retracted his finger a bit. Dracmon wouldn't throw away his pride here and now, however. "I have no pity or care for you! Why would I?! You're nothing but a big, stupid...ehh..."
Dracmon's faux rage was slowly put out when Mouse rested her hand atop of the small digimon's head. At that moment both he and his partner realized he had been lying and his hand dropped. It was time for him to swallow his pride - it was the very least he could do after all the trouble he had caused that night. "Oh fine, you did a very courageous thing back there. You could have let me die, run away, leave us be! But instead you stayed and risked yourselves for us when you weren't sure if you had a chance at all... and for that I thank you. PERSONALLY, ONCE IN A LIFETIME - A thanks from Dracmon unto thee."
Mouse leaned over to kiss Dracmon lightly on to of his head after he admitted all this, causing the Digimon to blush somewhat and shuffle his feet stubbornly. "Thank you." she whispered to him, knowing very well it took of consideration for her feelings to protect Latch and Koromon.
And suddenly, the ground opened up - much like it did back at the school the other night. Mouse and Dracmon's eyes widened at the sight of a warm light pouring through and embracing them all. Dracmon's hand moved away from his injured arm to see that it had been healed by the aura. A euphoria swept over them, and Mouse's parted lips quickly formed into a warm smile. The Digimental of Love appeared before her, greeting her with mutual adoration and then bursted into bits of data to float into her digivice.
Mouse then stood up to gaze at the pixelated artifact on her digivice's screen, beaming at it. The digimental...it had chosen her. She finally proved herself worthy for one.
In the spirit of the virtue of Love that had been presented to both her and Dracmon, Mouse actually began to laugh. After pocketing her digivice she picked up Dracmon from under his arms and begun to twirl him around while laughing, "We have one too!" she exclaimed. Dracmon would have normally found the whole spinny thing unpleasant, but even he felt giddy by the feelings the digimental emitted. He laughed as well, holding his arms up in the air as he was danced with, "It's because we're simply amazing! ♥"
It was like the guilt of Arachnemon's death had been completely washed away, and instead turned into gratitude that they had all been able to fight together so successfully. Mouse let Dracmon crawl up her shoulder as she rushed over to Latch and Koromon, simply beaming at the sight of them both. The first thing she did was gently grip Koromon's antennae and leaned forward to plant a little kiss on his forehead. "We did it!" she chimed, suddenly feeling what it was like to be on a team. After that she did a little twirl, releasing Koromon to hug Latch around the shoulders and rested her lips against his cheek, glowing with joy (and maybe blushing a bit.) "Mmmmwa!" she giggled out loud, skipping away from Latch a bit. "We did it!"
The digimental may as well been a hit of LSD by the way they were running around - but the two were simply intoxicated by the strength and joy that came with love.
