Wet... It was really, really wet here and Cade hated it.
His clothes were sticking to him, and he hated it when his clothes did that. It felt almost like someone had pushed him into a pool or something, and due to that he would dislike this place for the rest of his life... Which might be cut short if he couldn't find his way out. "Last time I listen to you..." He muttered, looking down to the blue digimon in his arms. Veemon gave a little huff and squirmed in her partner's hold a little, but for once decided to remain silent.
It had been the dragon digimon's idea in the first place to enter Misty Trees, saying it might be exciting and that the extra walking would be good for Cade. The twenty-four year old had been ready to go home then, he was certainly done with the Digital World for the day now. "The only reason you don't like it here is because your clothes are making you look pudgier." The rookie stated in a matter-of-fact tone, much to Cade's disdain... The only reason for such a feeling was that she was completely right. This was exactly why he didn't like this place, and the fact that she could tell so easily bothered him a little.
"Keep it up and I'll drop you and walk off." He threatened, though the snort he got in response told him that his partner didn't believe him at all. "Yeah right Tubby, like you would do that." She said, Cade almost able to hear the dismissive wave in her voice. Veemon seemed to know him better than he thought she did, which oddly enough really didn't surprise him for some reason. He was more open with her than he might be with others, and she was basically his first real friend despite the fact they weren't real partners.
A normal person would probably think it was odd and perhaps even pathetic for someone of his age to be just getting a friend, and that said friend happened to be a small blue dragon composed of data. Cade didn't think it was pathetic though, as even though Veemon was not human she had thoughts and feelings just like he did... He viewed her and himself as equals in this way. "...Okay fine, so I wouldn't." He said in a falsely defeated tone, the digimon in his arms giving a faint laugh as if what he had said amused her. "I already knew that." She stated in an almost smug tone, making her partner sort of shake his head.
It was now that it occurred to Cade that maybe they were being a little too vocal, and that they might gather some unwanted attention as a result. He felt a little foolish for not having realized it before, but he had been preoccupied with talking to Veemon. As a result he fell silent, though his partner didn't really seem to get the message. "Hey Tubby, why aren't you talking anymore?" She asked with a sort of whine in her voice, squirming a little.
Cade sighed a little and shushed her, his partner giving a quiet huff and going silent as she finally seemed to understand... She just hated the silence.

He should have been drunk by now.
He wasn't working today, and if he wasn't working he was drunk. Usually drunk, that is, because he wasn't today. And whose fault was that? It was Tsukaimon's fault, the purple digimon flying just out of reach and taunting him with jeers and jokes about everything from his age to his mother. Why had he ever purchased this feisty little digimon? He knew exactly why, but he still couldn't really believe it. He'd done it becuase he'd been drunk, and because he had wanted to make his nephew feel better. But still, that was a lot of money to waste on a pet. Money he could have used to purchase wine, which he could be drinking. He really should have been drunk by now.
He walked along, marveling at his own stupidity. He'd bought Tsukaimon, he'd let her drag him over to the Digiworld, and he wasn't even scolding her for it. He didn't really have it in him to scold, but he could have at least tried. Jenner couldn't help but smile, however, as Tsukaimon continued to taunt him. "Hey! Hey old man! You know there are snails that go faster than you do!" The smile widened at the pure absurdity of this statement, and he didn't bother with a response.
Jenner walked further, occasionally glancing around at the misty scenery, unsurprised to find the side views quiet and unmoving. Not that he could see far with all the trees and fog, so there could be many wild creatures lurking just out of sight. The thought didn't unnerve him, though, because both he and Tsukaimon were armed with attacks that would work in this world. Not that his were real attacks. But defense would work well enough here, he knew that from experience. Blind your enemy or disappear, and let someone else fight it. Then again, he didn't usually travel alone here.
After a few minutes, he began to hear muffled speech from somewhere out in the fog. He shushed Tsukaimon, who was smart enough to realize the potential gravity of the situation, and moved quickly toward the voices. Two of them, one male and one female, but he couldn't make out what they were saying. Jenner stepped closer, and the outline of a human appeared. The voices stopped, and he tensed for a moment. Had they seen him? No, he'd been quiet. It had to have been a coincidence.
Jenner decided to show himself, mostly because he was bored of Tsukaimon's constant taunting. He came towards the figure from the side, Tsukaimon following a few feet behind. It was a human! Well, that was something. And the person was carrying a digimon. He would be careful in talking to this pair, as he was with all strangers, but he was glad to come across another soul in this desolate forest. He drew close enough to see the other, and be seen in turn, before speaking. "Hello, there." A small smile, a wide stance, the palm that wasn't carrying his briefcase open. The picture of a peaceful approach.

"Hello, there."Cade froze up at the voice and Jenner's sudden appearance, only one thing about the situation registering in his mind... His clothes were clinging to him, and he couldn't pull them away from his body or anything because he was holding Veemon. He looked the other man over quietly, his first instinct being not to trust the stranger at all and the same went for the purple thing floating next to him. It took him a moment but the young man eventually realized he recognized said purple thing, looking at it a little longer than he looked at Jenner. He didn't really know what to say for whatever reason, most likely due to the fact he had been caught in what he felt was an unfavorable situation.
Eventually though Cade managed to get himself to speak, after a span of what was most likely about two to three minutes. "...Hi." The response was a little lame for his liking, but he felt so horribly awkward at the moment that it was all that was going to come out of him. Veemon on the other hand would turn out to be far more vocal, as she recognized Tsukaimon and squirmed in her partner's arms a little. "Hey, I know you! You were at that AIR place too!" She stated, in a voice that the young man holding her believed to be far too loud and made him cringe.
Cade recovered quickly though, looking over the light haired man once again as he struggled to say something that was more pressing at the moment than whether or not his clothes were sticking to him. "Do you work with them?" He asked, even making eye contact with Jenner as he asked this. He was very cautious of the other man, but he wasn't intimidated or afraid of him... Fear without reason was useless. The blue dragon in his arms certainly didn't seem afraid of him either, he didn't exactly know how he could tell but just something told him that she was feeling the same as him; guarded.
Despite the fact Jenner's approach and disposition seemed peaceful, Cade knew better than to automatically assume the other wouldn't start a fight or anything. Call him paranoid, but he found it a little odd that he had been found by another human and digimon in such a desolate place. If he found that Jenner was in fact with AIR, he had the concern that maybe he'd been sent to take Veemon back from him... Something he really didn't want to happen. As a result he held his purchased partner a little closer, despite her slight squirms at the action.

There had been a minutes-long silence after Jenner had spoken. During that time, he wondered whether he'd be able to steal DNA from this young man, and how he'd accomplish it. The method that yielded the strongest results was a cheek swab, but it was invasive and embarrassing for everyone involved. Other methods included the collection of a follicle, skin cells, or even blood cells.. but he couldn't see a situation in which he could obtain any of these. Jenner was glad he wasn't drunk now, glad he was able to think clearly and manipulate the game of social airs. At long last, the young man spoke.
"...Hi." Well, that gave him nothing. Not a name, not a distinction between the status of hollow or digidestined... nothing. Jenner tapped his foot impatiently, waiting for more, but recieved only the digimon's statement in reply. "Hey, I know you! You were at that AIR place too!" Was the little thing addressing Tsukaimon? Apparently so, because the flying digimon laughed back at her. "Meeting up with you again in a stupid forest, huh? Well, what are the chances of that? So how's this ball of lard treating you?" That wasn't diplomatic, wasn't calm or cool or collected or any of the traits Jenner prized him himself while dealing with strangers. He would need to have a serious talk with Tsukaimon about this later. "Now, now, that's not how we talk to new acquaintances! I don't care about your history with this digimon, Tsukaimon, I expect you to be polite." There, that should gloss over any offense the purple digimon had made. "Do you work with them?" Well, at least he knew one thing now--this young man had purchased the Veemon from the AIR stock of captured digimon. In fact, the Veemon had probably been captured and then sold by Jenner's own nephew. What a remarkable kid. A pity, though, that he couldn't take usable DNA from this hollow one. But that meant he could focus on the conversation, and on keeping Tsukaimon's sharp tongue in check. "Yes, I work in a branch of AIR. I mean no harm, however. It was simply chance that I ran into you. My name is Jenner, by the way, and it's a pleasure to meet you." A sweeping hand put out to be shaken, a small placid smile slipped into place, the courteous gentleman now affected for this young man's benefit.

"Meeting up with you again in a stupid forest, huh? Well, what are the chances of that? So how's this ball of lard treating you?"Oh, awesome... Names hadn't even been exchanged yet and he had already been insulted. Cade sort of lowered his head a little bit and looked off to the side, clearly made uncomfortable by the comment. Veemon squirmed in his grip some, opening her mouth like she was about to say something back about it but was stopped as her partner cleared his throat a little. The noise was a signal from him that he didn't want her to add to the fire, really preferring that she just do the mature thing and ignore it like he was."Now, now, that's not how we talk to new acquaintances! I don't care about your history with this digimon, Tsukaimon, I expect you to be polite."So the man was nothing like his partner, something Cade didn't find too surprising for whatever reason. He considered himself far different from the dragon digimon in his arms, whom he could still tell was just itching to tell Tsukaimon off for that outburst. The young man wasn't looking to make any enemies though, and he'd prefer it if Veemon didn't try her hardest to gain some. He didn't need someone holding a grudge against him or her, as he might find in the long run that grudge would come back to haunt him... This is why he made sure not to be offensive towards anyone."Yes, I work in a branch of AIR. I mean no harm, however. It was simply chance that I ran into you. My name is Jenner, by the way, and it's a pleasure to meet you."He couldn't help feeling cautious about Jenner still, but all the same he placed Veemon next to his legs, instructing her to stay put before going and giving Jenner's hand a firm shake. "My name is Cade... It's... Nice to meet you too." He said as he released the other man's hand, pulling his back and placing both in his sweatshirt pocket. "...Odd place for a meeting isn't it?" He asked, glancing around their gloomy surroundings a little bit. This almost, almost sounded like some sort of accusation... But it was so faint that it was impossible to make a definite decision on it.
Meanwhile the blue rookie who stood sullenly by his legs glared up at Tsukaimon, unable to keep herself from giving some sort of come back. "He's treating me fine... And if anyone's the lard ball here, it's you." Veemon stated, crossing her arms over her chest as Cade sighed and gave a low "Veemon..." of disdain. This was exactly what he had know would happen and wanted to prevent, but the dragon digimon simply would not have it. She owed her partner, and she wouldn't have anyone insulting him.... Aside from herself maybe.

Not too far away from where the little group stood, Evan was picking his way through the trees, for once taking his time to avoid falling flat on his face thanks to a hidden root or rock. Not to mention that it was entirely possible that he might ram himself into a tree as well thanks to the density of the mist and the fact he only seemed to pay attention to his surroundings half the time. A stick was thus clutched firmly in his grip, and he was poking around in front of him at random so avoid hidden objects. Okay, perhaps poking around was putting it gently. He was more or less flailing the thing around like it was a small windmill, as he was hoping to make contact with any inanimate thing that might be concealing itself in the mist in any given direction. Granted it was more likely he would have found them before the stick did, but he often missed things right in front of himself and hardly felt like acquiring a broken nose due to his own visual negligence. The dampness that hung in the air was by no means comfortable either, and made his already somewhat heavy black turtleneck sweater feel like a small sandbag draped over his spindly frame. A while had passed too since he had abandoned the use of his mini flashlight, as all that had done was cast a somewhat eerie, illuminated haze before him, and only served to make the mist seem more intense than it actually was.
Despite the potential unpleasantness of the situation however, Evan was by no means in a foul mood, though he wasn't sure if the same could be said about his companion Bukamon. This was the first time he had ever entered here, and it had been his choice in the first place to explore the foggy looking forest. Evan liked trees, and he liked mist so he hadn't even thought twice about checking it out, no matter how bad an idea it probably was. This was, to him why he was feeling somewhat more adventurous and open to the potential discomfort then he normally would have been. Perhaps though, this was directly related to the fact he had only been here a little more than half an hour and the exhaustion hadn't yet set in.
The only thing that WAS bothering him however was the silence that pressed upon the pair of them from all sides, and he was extremely grateful that he did have a companion to accompany him through this or it might not have been nearly as pleasant. The silence was almost deafening in its entirety, and this caused Evan right from the very beginning to neglect trying to be quiet in case of possible dangers lurking about, and had either been rambling useless things away to Bukamon, breaking into random periods of loud song, or just walking obnoxiously loud nearly the entire time. One might have thought he had already gone mental thanks to the if they happened to pass by, but this was almost perfectly normal behaviour on his part. In fact he was actually surprised that absolutely nothing had happened across their path this whole time. At least...speak of the devil.
"Oy..Hey!Hey Bukamon!" he exclaimed, slowing down after a while and prodding her with his stick gently. He swore he had just now heard something more than his or Bukamon's voice. In fact it sounded more like multiple voices, though he couldn't be certain. He had only just caught a flash...but then...again. This time a different voice from what he'd just heard, somewhat different in tone and pitch. The customary wide grin attached itself firmly to his face as he realized he was not in fact imagining things."Haha! I knew it! Did you hear thot too?" he inquired loudly, changing his course slowly to face the direction of the sound. He was hoping she could hear too, lest he be going totally insane (doubtful though....he'd just swear she was deaf). That had definitely been a voice, though the words were still impossible to make out. If there really was someone there, and they were of the human variety..well then, that could end up being fun.[/sub]

Bukamon hovered relatively quietly behind Evan as he made his obnoxiously loud way through the forest. The human world was quite fascinating and awesome to be in, but she could never fully replace the digital world. It just had this familiar feel to it that she felt welcomed in (despite the dangers). At first she had winced considerably when Evan started to casually swing the stick rapidly around in front of him as they walked, but seeing as he was doing a bit less crashing thanks to it, she gradually calmed. She kept an eye out for him as well, though, having ducked down below the mist a few times to double-check for any rocks or rising roots that might have hung around to mischievously trip up any unfortunate passersby.
Other than any soft warnings of things she suspected that the boy did not catch sight of, Bukamon had kept herself relatively quiet. Neither of them could see too far into the fog, and even sounds seemed relatively muffled due to the sheer density of it. It was rather obvious that this was bothersome to her companion, however. She was rather sure that he was not yet used to or aware of the idea that being quiet would be a good idea in a place like this. If you were the quietest thing in these woods, then you would be the last one heard and the first one to hear.. And she was right. She perked up a bit at the sound of voices just before Even had stopped and addressed her to point said noises out.
She gave the side of his head a pat with her flipper before zipping ahead of him to see for herself what these voices belonged to. She stopped herself as she reached them pretty quickly, yanking herself backwards for a moment and letting out a soft wheeze. She had nearly flown straight toward them! That would have been incredibly clumsy and foolish. She let out a soft sigh and pressed herself against the tree, peering out over to see the others. Two humans and two digimon were semi-friendly conversing with each other. She decided semi because there seemed to be an air of tension, but it was not too bad.
She did not know who they were and had never met their digimon either. She wiggled a bit, though, kind of excited. Others like her! (ha) She was somewhat excited in meeting these, but also somewhat nervous. She really did hope they were friendly. She glanced back a bit before backing off from the tree slightly, still watching the others and trying to keep herself hidden. She hoped that at least if they were friendly, they would be able to stay that way even despite her partners attitude. He was not malicious (or at least she hoped not), but he did have a hard time knowing when to stop. Well staying hidden was very quickly starting to be completely pointless. Her partner had very well kept up his obnoxiously not-quiet-ness even as she had tried to be hidden, pretty much killing any and all sneakiness she had attempted.

"My name is Cade... It's... Nice to meet you too."The young man reached out for a brief handshake, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. Jenner couldn't judge precisely how uncomfortable, however, because Cade's voice was too soft and he'd never been any good at reading body language. Most of the tension had probably come from Tsukaimon's insult, and yet again Jenner wondered what had possessed him to buy the thing. But he knew it wasn't a real question, that he'd do anything to make his nephew happy. "...Odd place for a meeting isn't it?" Cade's soft voice now seemed to have a bit of an accusing tone to it. "Do you mean to suggest that I encountered you by some other means than chance? I don't see how I could have, Cade, as I can't see any better in this forest than you can." Despite the unwavering certainty in his voice, he mentally prepared his digital attacks.. just in case.
In the event that something unforseen happened, Tsukaimon would be on her own, as he would have melted into shadow. Then the Veemon opened its mouth, and he suppressed a sigh of annoyance--the thing really didn't know when to shut its mouth. Neither did Tsukaimon, it appeared, because she answered. "Oh yeah? Well, look who's being carried around like a little queen. I'm using my own wings to fly. Who's the lard ball now, huh?" He was about to admonish her when a new voice sprung from the fog.
The words were indistinct, dampened by the mist, but Jenner was desperate to alter the course of this conversation. "Hello? Is there anyone out there?" He stepped towards where he'd heard the voice, hoping he didn't ram straight into whoever it was.

"Do you mean to suggest that I encountered you by some other means than chance? I don't see how I could have, Cade, as I can't see any better in this forest than you can."To hear his name said in the middle of a sentence like that was odd to him for some reason, and as a result he didn't really respond immediately. Cade took a moment or two to respond, for now disregarding the digimon as he knew the petty argument they seemed so enthralled with was not worth listening to. "That's exactly what I was suggesting... But I'm a little paranoid so..." The young man trailed off with a shrug, taking a moment to adjust his clothes and trying to get them not to cling so much. It was just making him feel even more uncomfortable in this entire situation aside from talking to someone completely new to him in such a creepy place, and finding an A.I.R member here for whatever reason just made it worse somehow.
Meanwhile Veemon wasn't even paying attention to the two humans anymore, as if they just weren't even there to start with and it was just she and Tsukaimon in the mist. The little purple digimon was annoying her, even when the digimon was being totally quiet... However rare those moments were. Why she felt so offended when Cade barely even reacted was a mystery to her, just figuring if her partner wasn't going to give the other rookie an ear full of what-for then it was up to her. She blinked as Tsukaimon went to respond, readying herself for whatever it might be."Oh yeah? Well, look who's being carried around like a little queen. I'm using my own wings to fly. Who's the lard ball now, huh?"Veemon snorted at this, even giving a small shake of her head... To her this seemed like a stupid comeback, though to her any of Tsukaimon's comebacks would be stupid. "Right... I don't have wings, I can't fly like you... And I'm being carried so I don't get separated from Tubby over there." She stated, the digimon's tone of voice making it clear she believed her response stomped Tsukaimon's words into the dirt. The dragon digimon even smirked a little, waiting to see how the purple rookie would respond to that. However the smirk faded as she heard a muted voice, blinking and acknowledging the humans again as if wondering if it was one of them."Hello? Is there anyone out there?"From this she could tell it hadn't been the light haired man or her partner, making Veemon step closer to Cade as if it would make her safer. The young man glanced down at the rookie before he looking through the fog again, or at least attempted it as he tried to find the new speaker. His first thought was it might be a threat, and he was glad his digimon had the sense to stay close to him... He didn't know what he'd be able to do if she got away from him in this fog. Since Jenner had already called out he stayed quiet, just waiting for now.

It only took seconds for Bukamon to vanish from sight, without, much to his chagrin, even having responded properly too him. He supposed however that that had in fact been her response and she had possibly gone to check the voices out...that or she had randomly decided to ditch him here (though for whatever reason he doubted this to be the case, as much as he'd like to bother her about it later) He paced back and forth, tapping the stick against his leg a couple times as he stared intently into the fog. As he waited, he heard a voice call out in question, asking for a confirmation that he was actually there. Perhaps they had heard him..no doubt actually, what with all the shouting he had been doing. However, he was not about to just happily shout back to this guy, no matter how obvious he was being otherwise. Instead, he decided to seek out his companion.
"Bukamon!? Where the **** did you run off too yeah?" he shouted, not caring about the nearby voices whatsoever at the moment. No answer..or at east not one that had come within the allocated amount of time he deemed appropriate for a response to reach him. Even if this time frame was less then five seconds. He couldn't help it if he had the patience of a toddler. Waiting was just a horrible waste of time in his opinion when he could be actively getting things done instead. For a fraction of a moment he stood where he was, peering through the blindingly thick fog in the direction his companion had zipped off to, then, believing it to be a better idea to actually follow Bukmon then stand on his lonesome in the middle of nowhere, he took off after her, feet pounding loudly on the ground, and after only about thirty seconds of near blind running in the general direction of the voices, he found himself suddenly without footing, thanks to a wet exposed root. His formerly trusty guide stick flew out of his hands as he landed hard on his front on the moist and grimy forest floor.
Mud and small bits of plant matter clung to his clothing, hands and face as he slowly pushed himself back up. A virtual stream of foul language spilling forth from his lips as he tried his best to brush himself off, completely missing a nice big smear of mud on his cheek, which on his near deathly pale complexion, probably only made it that much more noticeable. What he hadn't realized was that in his near blind haste to get TO Bukamon, he had accidentally passed right by her, and as he fully righted himself into a seated position and took in his surroundings, he saw exactly where he was. Not that he knew WHERE he was but he now saw exactly what the situation was. He had managed to crash no more then ten feet away from a small group of people and digimon, presumably where the voices had been resonating from. He knew that had they witnessed this, or if they glanced over at him just randomly sitting there, he would probably ended up standing out like a naked man at a funeral...though it wasn't like he had been trying to be quiet to begin with.
Not wishing to appear fearful or embarrassed by his awkward arrival, and even though he hadn't even checked to see if they had even looked, he immediately relaxed back into a very casual seated position and extended a hand in a lazy wave. He just hoped that Bukamon was not too far away just in case these people were possibly dangerous.

Bukamon winced. Was that shouting really necessary? That swearing? Gosh she could have sworn she had a child sometimes as a partner instead of-oh wait well she supposed he was a child, and she wasn't exactly an adult either.
She caught sight of him running before he saw her. She jerked back, pressing her fins against her mouth as he tripped over the raised root below him, eyes going wide. She should have seen that, she should have known it was there and should have pointed it out to him so that he would not trip on it like he had. The guilt shot through her immediately and she barked out a couple of apologies.
She hung back a bit, however, very aware that he had basically plopped himself right in the middle of their conversation. But she was his digimon... she had to be there to protect him! She grit her teeth and hovered forward, latching herself to his shoulder. She reached over and gently brushed at the mud on his face in an attempt to get it off for him.
She looked up at the others and bristled both with excitement and nervousness. Others! Other digimon with partners like her! She squeezed a little at Evan's shoulder.
"Hello!" she managed to force out. "I'm Bukamon... this is Evan!" She held out one of her fins toward them in an attempt to appear friendly. "Who are you?"

"Right... I don't have wings, I can't fly like you... And I'm being carried so I don't get separated from Tubby over there."
Tsukaimon was really miffed now. A smirk?! A smirk? How dare this little blue... thing.. even suggest that it had won! This argument wasn't over yet, not even close. "Lose him? HAH! He's so huge you couldn't lose him in a million years, not even if you tried! So maybe you're just--" Jenner grabbed Tsukaimon from the air, clamped his hand over the unruly digimon's mouth, wincing as his fingers were bitten but not letting go. It was taking all his self control not to shout at her--not that she would listen, but it would certainly make him feel better.
Jenner glared down at the purple digimon in his hands, doing nothing about his bleeding fingers (thankfully Tsukaimon wasn't biting anymore, she'd decided she disliked the taste of blood enough as it was) and wondering why whoever had been tramping around the forest hadn't answered back, then decided he might as well try to formulate some sort of reply. It was the oddest thing, nearly everyone he met seemed to be wary of him for one reason or another. Okay, well, maybe it wasn't so weird if he thought about it. It was definitely annoying, though. "I assure you that I wasn't planning on meeting you here--or anyone, really. This digimon insisted that I traveled here." He looked down at Tsukaimon for a moment, trying and failing to find any redeeming qualities in the dark digimon.
His train of thought was derailed by the (somewhat timely, as he had nothing left to say) arrival of another person. And.. a digimon. He glanced down at his briefcase, wondering if he would be able to take a DNA sample from this stranger. It was possible, after all, that lady luck had finally smiled down upon him. ...if that was the case, however, Jenner highly doubted that luck was a lady. He preferred to think of luck as androgynous, just to save trouble. Regardless, he had to figure out how to let go of Tsukaimon, get his kit ready, and draw a sample (if the new person was even a digidestined) without anyone noticing or growing suspicious.
"Hello! I'm Bukamon.. this is Evan! Who are you?"
This was excellent. No purchased digimon, no digimon that had seen the atrocities committed against their kind in the AIR camp could be so friendly. This 'Evan' had to be a digidestined! He tensed slightly, glaring at Tsukaimon and silently wishing that she wouldn't ruin everything. "Hello there, Bukamon and Evan! My name is Jenner... and this is Tsukaimon." He hoped they wouldn't notice his bleeding fingers.

"Lose him? HAH! He's so huge you couldn't lose him in a million years, not even if you tried! So maybe you're just--"Veemon had been about to yell back at Tsukaimon for this additional insult when Jenner grabbed the little troublemaker, seeming fairly surprised. She looked up towards Cade, who seemed a little bothered by the insult again but was glad the light haired man had the decency to shut the rookie up... Though it was a shame about his fingers. The young man nearly offered to examine them and see how badly they were bitten but he refrained, since he wasn't entirely comfortable with the other and the man didn't seem to be bleeding to death anyway. He wasn't a doctor anyway, so he didn't entirely see why he should act the part... Especially when he didn't even have bandages or anything to start with.
Cade listened to Jenner's words quietly, seeming almost as if he were trying to evaluate how truthful they were. He didn't know why he felt like he shouldn't trust the light haired man, but he supposed it was just that he was in an odd place with an unfamiliar person and that was creating tension. In the end though he nodded a little to the other man's words in quite acceptance, figuring he was being ridiculous. He needed to calm down a little, he couldn't react to every person he met in the digital world like this."Hello! I'm Bukamon... this is Evan!"The young man blinked and turned his attention away from Jenner and Tsukaimon to the newcomers, Veemon peeking around him at the strangers before daring to come out in full view. She could tell her partner felt awkward but didn't say a thing about it... He figured 'Tubby' had had a rough enough time as it was already with all the comments the other digimon had made. "Uh... Hi. I'm Cade and this is Veemon." He said with a small wave of greeting towards Evan and Bukamon, not making any comments on the fact that the digidestined was sitting on the wet forest floor. He figured the other probably didn't need it pointed out where he was sitting, he figured Evan was probably quite aware of it.

Evan could feel the damp slowly seeping through his pants the longer he sat there on the ground. In this climate too it wasn't going to dry anytime soon either. It was becoming more and more uncomfortable to stay where he was, and as Bukamon appeared by his side, he thought this a very appropriate time to get to his feet and appear more presentable.
"Thanks Buk," he said softly as she brushed at his face, assuming there had probably been something there, though adding with a smirk, "Wut took you so long?" Giving her a gentle nudge, he pushed himself up just as Bukamon introduced them both. Well..there went his plans for a creative introduction that didn't involve a nosedive into the ground. Straightening up and brushing forest debris off his now damp backside, he raised a hand in an awkward salute, grin still plastered across his face as the others returned Bukamon's very simplistic greeting. He considered the pair and their digimon for a moment, noting that one was just a tad less confident then the other. He always enjoyed that sort..they were always terribly easy to mess with, if that was really his true nature and not just the result of possible surprise.
"Not interrupting anything are we? You goise sounded busy." Still grinning, he leaned against a tree right beside him to both steady himself and appear more casual without having his butt planted on the ground. It was a little strange to now be seeing three digimion in one place, as he hadn't really had all that many encounters before. Still he would play it as damn cool as he could. Evan didn't make a move from where he currently stood however, partially out of laziness and also due to the fact he still didn't trust complete strangers he found hanging around in the forest. True he had no reason not to, but he also had no reason to trust them either. He just liked to asses people (and now other digimon) first, and all he had to go by was how they looked and the fact they seemed to like hanging about in the forest. Or maybe not. They hadn't looked or sounded too happy earlier, and presumably that had something to do with the ambiance which most people (save for anomalies like himself) didn't seem to care for very much.
"Me and Bukmon heard you goise from way over thar," he gestured vaguely off into the distance. "You really shouldn't be so loud..who knows wut nutcase moight he'yar you blibbering away loike that." Evan was totally aware that this was one hundred percent hypocritical and that he was most definitely the louder one, but that was partially why he said it. He always loathed strained conversation, which usually followed a greeting to someone you didn't know, and he would take any form of communication over it, even if it was negative. He waited, fingers picking at the bark of the tree he was up against, sending a small cascade of little woodchips tumbling to the ground. Another thing he couldn't stand was being still, but right now running around like a moron was probably not the best idea. He thus satisfied himself with his current activity, keeping his eyes trained on the strangers. [/sub]

Wanyamon ran into the wood and hopped around. She was purring and bouncing around trees. She loved being in the digital world. It was he home, and she felt so comfortable in it. Maybe too comfortable. she had left Haru behind by accident. She had yet to reallize this and was gleefully hopping around. She didn't realize that there were people around until she bumped into them. She ran right into a human that was soaked and had a veemon beside him. "Whoops, sorry. I didn't see you there" She gave them a happy smile.
Haru picked his way precariously in the fog. He was very irritated at his partner. Wanyamon had left him alone in the fog. He grumbled to himself about unreliable partners. "Wanyamon" He called quietly, "Where are you". He almost stepped on his partner as he saw the other people. He only just managed not to step on her by giving her a kick instead. "There you are. Don't run of again" He looked at the people she had bumped into. "Sorry about this useless lump of fur. I'm Haru and this is Wanyamon. She tends to be a burden and very in the way. If you need to just give her a little kick, then she moves really fast".
"Master!" Wanyamon protested. She jumped up and Haru opened his arms for her. She snuggled up to his chest and then feeling him shiver a bit, she climbed up and curled around his neck. She started purring again. She was glad her master finally let her get close to him. "I'm really sorry about that" she mewled with as much sincerity as she could muster. "It's nice to meet you though"
