Misaka blinked as she listened to Ryusuke and wasn't sure how to react. It was the first time she had ever really heard him unsure about something. He was usually able to hide it pretty well, but this time it was so obvious that he didn't have a real answer for her. Just as he said, he had a lot of options. Though maybe the real question was what he really wanted to do? Perhaps he didn't know?
"Hmm....That wasn't a very sure answer Ryu. Do you know what you want to do?"
Waiting for him to respond, the girl looked up towards the sky and smiled before turning her gaze back towards Ryusuke. Even if he didn't know, there was still time. After all, even she wasn't sure what she wanted to do with her life. Though part of her wanted to be a teacher.

And of course Misaka had honed in right on the inconsistencies and seen right through his answer. Again, it was more his fault for putting off any kind of decision for as long as he could, but being aware of that didn't really help things much.
"To be completely honest? No, I have no idea. I could get into pretty much any school I wanted with my aptitude scores and grades, but the problem is more that there's just nothing that's caught my eye yet. Can't go too far with martial arts and other sports never really appealed to me so I'll need to make a decision sooner or later, but to be frank it's just easier to focus on my problems in the now." Ryusuke said calmly, sighing slightly as he began to speak. It was a valid question, but not one he wanted to deal with. In truth it was something of a blessing that his dad wasn't home more often - while Ryusuke treasured what little time he did get with his father in during the brief periods he was home, the man would've probably been nagging Ryusuke to make the choice early so he could set everything up ahead of time.

Misaka could see where he was coming from with his opinion of dealing with things in the present. At times, it was best to look at what was in front of you than worry about what was coming. The things of the present were only for then, and couldn't be seen again. Though she knew that she wouldn't be able to avoid it forever. The path to the future was long, but very quickly traveled. At least, that what her mother said.
"That's one way of looking at it. Even if you don't know, at least you know you can do anything you want...."
Smiling as she looked towards the distance, she soon saw that they were at their usually breaking point. It was here that the two of them usually split off and went about their separate ways. Slowly down as they reached their destination, the girl looked over her shoulder and giggled as she waved towards him.
"Well...I talked your ear off enough for one day. I'll see you tomorrow Ryu... "

Ryusuke had to admit, he liked the way she'd put it - while it didn't exactly chage his situation, it did put it in a more positive light. He still had a year left to think about where he wanted to go and what he wanted to do after graduation, and at the very least he knew what he didn't want to do - if it was avoidable he never wanted to work in retail ever again once he got a new job. Seeing their usual breaking point coming up, Ryusuke changed direction towards his house as he reached the street cross section.
"See ya. And don't worry about Kazai, it'll work itself out. We'll just remind her that we need her there more often or find someone else to take her place." Ryusuke said as his back turned to face her, raising a hand in acknowledgement to let her know her heard her as he began moving away. While it annoyed him somewhat that the house was probably going to be empty, at the very least it'd afford him some peace and privacy to get his school work done, and there was still plenty of food left in the refridgerator to cook with. Lowering his arm, Ryusuke continued down the short street before turning around another corner and out of sight.
[Exit Ryusuke]
