DARKLIZARDMON the WILD DIGIMON
[/sup] "Erase Sickle."
No, not again... Didn't this digimon have any other moves, perhaps something a little less devastatingly damaging?
Darklizardmon could see the twin sickles heading for his chest through the flames, and for a moment time almost seemed to slow down. Was this how things were before one died, or should he be seeing his entire life going past his eyes about now? No not quite yet he supposed, given the fact that he wasn't exactly dying yet and was rather just staring it in the face... Its horribly mutated and alien-looking face, which was probably quite different from what most might expect. A Reapermon's face would be more fitting to be the last thing one saw before meeting their demise, however not even Darklizardmon was confident enough in his abilities to take on something that strong; he would have to have a death wish or something like that to go up against an Ultimate... Especially one that boasted such power.
And here he was, getting defeated by a rookie... That just simply would not do for his last battle if this was indeed to be it.
Maybe he could try taking his opponent with him, or at the very least attempt to give him a wound that he would never forget as long as Arkadimon existed. Of course Darklizardmon didn't like the idea he was going to die, especially when he wasn't all that old to start with... But he really didn't think there was any way to get out of this, not with his leg the way it was. So his pride was to be the death of him after all, as he'd been told before by others that it most likely would be; oddly enough he found some humor in this but now wasn't entirely the time to be laughing if he was going to at least made one last attempt to save himself. So with his thought the dragon digimon maneuvered himself out of the way of the sickles, though not without gaining a little cut to his shoulder from the attack and experiencing the same sort of data loss there.
He wasn't about to let it hinder him though, just like he was trying so desperately to keep on his feet despite the damage done to his leg.
"SHADOW CLAW!"
His voice came out in a sort of growl, his claws becoming engulfed in the same dark flames his skin was covered with. It went without saying that Darklizardmon and its subspecies Flarerizamon that the flame-covered dragons would be hot to the touch, and the creature's claws were not exempt from this. That was what made them such a great weapon aside from them being close range only, but with how hot they were that would burn the enemy along with the lacerations they would cause... They were deadly if handled right. As Darklizardmon went to slash his claws along Arkadimon's body he knew that he was leaving himself open, and that he could very well miss; however he was counting on the rookie not moving away, just like he hadn't dodged the last two attacks.
He would just have to wait and see what fate had in store for him.

As Arkadimon got within inches of impaling his opponent he finally gave off a audible sign of irritation, the first sound besides the name of his attack finally leaving him since the fight started, although a far more unnerving one. Rather than speaking, a mix of a low but quite audible thrumming growl and insectile buzz left the digimon from a place deep in within his chest as he heard, saw and felt the other digimon's counter attack, and unthinking rage finally beginning to build within the creature as an emotion finally managed to take root. He was so close to filling the void inside of himself, so close to knowing peace even if it was only for a few moments, another step forward along his evolutionary path... and this insignificant speck dared to stand in his way. Wounding him once hadn't been enough, even twice hadn't been enough to satisfy the Virus - it had to attempt to land a third strike. What right did it have to do that? It was food, a mere collection of data, with no other purpose or role to fill - it had no place standing in his way, and if it wasn't going to simply understand its place in the grand scheme of things, Arkadimon was perfectly prepared to simply destroy it rather than put it out of its misery in a quick and merciful manner.
Nearing his limit to ignore the pain, animal mind or not, Arkadimon was through trying to preserve as much of the data as possible. Continuing forwards with his momentum before digging his feet into the ground to suddenly stop inside of the other digimon's guard, Arkadimon gave up on attempting to end the fight quickly and efficiently, taking another step downwards in elegance as he changed his focus to yet another target. Arms still glowing crimson, the blade like appendages suddenly swung upwards from Arkadimon's position directly in front of DarkLizardmon, but rather than the center of mass, the glowing blades swung up on either side of the Virus, aiming to slice the other digimon's arms clean off with blinding speed, hopefully before the larger digimon's arm could completely close in on him -the other digimon may have outclassed him in size and power, but Arkadimon was still much faster. If this insignificant speck was going to think itself his equal, Arkadimon would do everything in his power to prove it dead wrong, with emphasis on the last two words.
Over on the side lines, however, a small, almost imperceptable smirk grew on Kurogane's face as the girl asked him a question. Under most circumstances, it would have been an innocent enough action towards anyone else, but to Kurogane every action had some immediate meaning, some way he could use the consequences either then or later. Bottom line here was that she wanted something from him, and it was something only he could give. It may have been something seemingly small and insignificant, but if anyone knew how to manipulate information and find a way to use it, Kurogane was that person.
"Haven't you ever heard that nothing is free? Everything in this world or our own costs something, and information is no exception." Kurogane said, seeming to force her out of his head and go back to ignoring her as he turned his attention back towards the fight. While he didn't show it, though, he was somewhat pleased that they had no intention of continuing the fight - Arkadimon may have been powerful, but he'd still be vulnerable after a brawl like this. "If you want his name, be prepared to offer something in return. Beyond that, I have no reason to tell you who or what he is."

Things might have gone well if he had just answered her question and they had gone on their way.
That was never how it went, though. She frowned as he sought out a deal. She had no information she wanted to give out, even if it was false. It was too risky, and she knew too little about this world and the monster fighting for him to risk making an enemy by fooling him. Normally, she wouldn't have a problem with misinformation, but when she herself had barely any knowledge to speak of, even trying could simply make a mess of things. She didn't want his partner targeting her.
No, no need to make an enemy here.
"Then we have no reason to stay," she responded, relieved that this encounter could be dealt with. "BlackGabumon?"
His reaction was slow, but he eventually nodded, eyes still that unnerving shade of red. With that tentative assurance that he would follow her, she calmly began to walk, intending to simply pass them an and keep going. At this point, she could have cared less if she had to drag her somewhat bulkier partner over the fence - the farther they were from someone who actually wanted to know something, the better.
"Ava-" BlackGabumon began, and then cut himself off, turning his head away. "I am sorry."
She wasn't sure if he was apologizing for almost calling her by name, or for his earlier behaviour. Either way, it didn't matter. "Try not to do it again," she answered, hearing how cold she sounded. Uncaring. Nothing mattered, in the end, as long as she was safe.

DARKLIZARDMON the WILD DIGIMON
[/sup] This would not end well, that was all Darklizardmon could think when he saw Arkadimon's arms swing upward with that terrible red glow around them.
He supposed that this last attack of his had been rather foolish, and he should have just moved back again and used another Dark Flare attack instead of this close range one. Darklizardmon was starting to wonder what the point was in keeping himself alive anyway; his leg was probably permanently crippled, as he doubted that the data that had been cut away would ever come back. The same went from his shoulder, which was already in near excruciating pain from him continuing to use that arm with that chunk of data missing from it. Even if the dragon digimon lived what could he do anymore, what fights could he even get into and still live through now that he was like this? This world was rather unkind to the weak and now that he was in that class maybe now he was no longer meant for this world, maybe despite how young he was... It was already his time to go.
At the very least he could face his end with dignity, trying not to feel any disappointment in himself for how he had performed in this last battle due to the outcome it was going to have. Darklizardmon had gone into this fight expecting to be a winner, only to come out of it to pay the ultimate price. He knew this enemy was not the sparing type and he would be absorbed, and as a result he would never be reborn... A shame his last moments of life were to be spent in this rotting graveyard, in the presence of an animalistic enemy, as well as two humans and another digimon who did nothing more than watch everything unfold. He'd much rather be somewhere else for his last moments, like a nice warm volcano or maybe even back in Primary Village; those places provided such a sense of calm and safety towards him that thinking of them brought small bits of comfort to the dragon digimon.
He closed his eyes in a wince as both arms were sliced clean off his body, not allowing himself to give even a whimper in response to the immense pain that stemmed from the area his arms had just been. The limbs fell to the ground with an unceremonious thump, claws twitching a small bit still like they wanted to cut through the enemy that was moments away from defeating their master before the data they were composed of broke apart and faded. Darklizardmon didn't even open his eyes to see this happen, as he really didn't think he could take seeing part of himself disappear in such a way. It wasn't long before the champion digimon found himself on his knees and knew he was going to die rather soon, and by now with all the pain that he was in and just how damaged he was... He felt that he would welcome it, even if there was no coming back from this like there was usually a chance of it.
"You better intend to do something amazing with my data." Darklizardmon muttered, finally opening his eyes to face his death properly. He was not going to die with his eyes shut like a coward, he would face this bravely and stare his opponent in the face as he was killed... He wouldn't have it any other way, the bit of pride he had left demanding that he act in this way with his final moments. There was no sadness to him or even regret despite the fact he was going to die, as he actually didn't see anything to be regretful about; yes this had been his last battle, but it was a battle to be proud of with a challenging opponent. Honestly the dragon digimon couldn't ask to die a better way, and therefore he was at absolute peace.
He was still going to die how he had wanted, even if it was a little sooner than he'd like; regret was pointless now, and all there was to focus on now was that little shred of positivity.

Finally beginning to feel the pain of his burns as it began to bleed through the numbing rage and hunger, Arkadimon began shuddering slightly as he leaped back from the larger digimon after severing the creature's arms, the very instincts that gave him his uncanny hunting ability urging caution before closing in for the kill. Prey was most dangerous when it was injured and cornered, and while Arkadimon's conscious mind knew DrakLizardmon posed little threat now, the rest of him was in conflict as it dealt with the inner urge for caution, the near blinding pain and overwhelming urge to "feed". It wasn't until the Champion began speaking that the caution vanished, with Arkadimon beginning to close in, each step wavering slightly and a predatory clicking sound emerging from the Rookie as the Champion digimon's words failed to register as anything more than random sounds. The moment Arkadimon was within half a meter of the other digimon it finally lunged in a blur of motion, arm raised and not even bothering to name the attack as it had previously done. Arkadimon's glowing red blade like arm impaled DarkLizardmon's head with vicious ease and next to no resistance, with the Champion seeming to burst into thousands of individual pixellated data packets, which were slowly absorbed into Arkadimon as he stood near the center of the mass. As the individual pixels were drawn into him Arkadimon's breathing eased, the burns beginning to heal and his conscious mind once again taking control of his body as his hunger was, for the moment satisfied. He had control of himself back, but he knew it wouldn't last long - it never did, and the hunger always came back. It hadn't always been so, but that had been a long time ago, and he had hunted a prey of a different sort back then. He was much stronger now than he had been, but with that power came a price, and until he digivolved he would be controlled by his power, rather than the other way around. As Arkadimon finished downloading the deceased Champion's data Kurogane felt much relieved - now that Arkadimon had control of himself once again the human no longer needed to worry about keeping the digimon in line, or have to be concerned about his own safety, nor that Arkadimon would attack the human and digimon crossing the cemetary behind him. The last thing he needed was for the digimon to waste all of the effort they had put into increasing his strength, and while the digimon was in control of himself Kurogane could still count on Arkadimon to understand that fact as well. As Arkadimon stood up straight, slightly the worse for wear but in better condition than most Rookies would have been after taking on a Champion in a one on one fight, Kurogane felt a small smirk cross his face as his rather sharp hearing picked up something rather interesting. The girl clearly didn't want to reveal anything about herself, but as far as Kurogane was concerned it merely amde such information all that much more valuable, and now he had at the very least a partial name. It wasn't the entire thing from the way BlackGabumon had spoke, but it was enough. While Kurogane may not have liked AIR, he felt they had the right idea about one thing - information regarding the other digidestined was power, the kind with which let you control things. What little information he had about the girl might have amounted to nothing at first glance, but Kurogane knew who to ask about such things, and there was no harm in merely checking on what he did know. Who knew, he might get lucky. As the girl and BlackGabumon began nearing the other side of the cemetary Kurogane glance over one last time, memorizing her appearance just before Arkadimon reached him, silently waiting for them to move. "..... we're done here. We got what we needed, and I have a few things that need taking care of." Kurogane said, turning and beginning to walk towards the other end of the cemetary opposite of the girl, Arkadimon following him as he moved. It might not have been the trip that Kurogane had intended, but that did not mean it hadn't been productive. ------------------------ EXIT KUROGANE ------------------------

The fight was over, that strange Digimon the victor - an expected outcome. Not knowing what it was called or what its attribute was meant that the little conversation had been totally useless, but trading information was dangerous. At least she knew what those two looked like, and hopefully BlackGabumon had enough of their scents to be able to avoid them in the future.
The end of the graveyard and a path leading from the church was in sight - as well as a sizeable gap in the fence, if not big enough for BlackGabumon to go through. He made no move as she clambered over, careful to avoid ripping her clothes or gashing her legs on the uneven protrusions. It was out of character for him, but she was willing to believe that the fight had startled him or... something. Perhaps she should have learned to trust his answers, but she found it difficult to ask him anything - he seemed far too willing to offer her information.
"BlackGabumon, can you climb over?" she asked, and had to hide a frown as he glanced at the fence and shook his head. "Make the gap bigger, then. Or... weaken the fence or something." Ordering him was just as odd, but he wasted no time in bathing the fence in blue flames, and then ramming the still-glowing metal with his horn. The already weakened section collapsed and he stepped through it.
There - a safe distance from those two and a clear path to take to leave. And yet, Avari felt... uneasy. Well, it didn't matter - she would just need to be more careful than usual, and keep an eye out for that man in the future. She had no intentions of meeting him again. With that resolution, she continued down the path.
