Hiro had tried his best, really he did. Koromon had been helping him attempt to straighten up his apartment, his landlady giving him that advice. She told him that no woman would want to enter his room and stay for very long, there was a risk of death by infection or so she put it. Hiro spent the entire day sweeping, mopping, dusting, everything under the sun. Koromon had been helping by washing the floors and doing whatever he could to assure that Kazai didn't walk right in and punch Hiro in the face for being such a slob. His apartment was small, very small indeed only a single large room, a small bathroom and a smaller room for sleeping. The kitchen and living room areas were connected, though separated by counters and cabinets. It was small, though perfect for Hiro. As for decorations it was rather plain on the whole, a modest TV with a pile of anatomy DVDs next to it. Matted floors and a small table in the middle of the living space with which to sit on the floor and eat from. Taking a quick shower before she arrived, at last he was ready. Hiro was prepared for his first date.
Hiro had not cooked for many people before in his life, once he cooked for his landlady and she claimed it was the most delicious thing she had ever tasted. Hiro himself didn't really care much, as long as she thought it was acceptable. All he knew was Kazai wanted something French, he had never even attempted to create a French dish before. Hiro spent most of his time at work the night before researching recipes on the internet, finally settling on Tourin as an appetizer and Lobster in Calvados butter as an entre. Hiro's skills could be considered a stroke of genius and masterwork, though he himself would never know it. His hands moved without effort, cutting the lobster into appropriate portions without destroying the structure of it and letting water seep out. His soup was coming together nicely as well, some Tourin recipes called for up to twenty cloves or Garlic however Hiro halved that number and instead added a mixed spice infusion that would tone down the harsh garlic flavor and bring out more of an earthy and rich flavor. The broth was perfecting it's color, almost like that of a miso soup until he slowly began to incorporate egg whites into the mix as well as flour, thickening it up a great deal and adding the rich flavor of eggs into the mix. To complete his dish he sliced some bread he had obtained from a local import store, direct from France, and covered the top with Gryuere cheese.
The Lobster was a bit more delicate but Hiro handled it like a veteran. He had to be quick and precise in timing and measuring as even a slight miscalculation would throw off the entire dish. Adding his dash of sugar midway through the cooking process transformed the Lobster into a bit of a sweeter, delicate food. Finishing the process by pouring the Calvados butter infusion over the lobster and adding some chateau potatoes and Belgian carrots. Hiro had made enough for four, just as he had planned there would be. The flavor was perfect and now all there was left was for Kazai to judge. Just as he was finishing up the process, Koromon already waiting at the table, he heard a knock on the door...

Kazai waited outside for her new apparent boyfriend to open the door. She had been thinking about the relationship they had formed for a while now, but she didn't think that it was a bad idea and was a bit happy that she had done it. It would be interesting getting to know what it was like to have a boyfriend, and it wasn't as if she couldn't break up with him whenever she wanted if things didn't work out. Plus, she could now say that she had a boyfriend before Misaka did.
In any case, she waited outside of the door of his apartment. Petitmamon stood at her side, ready to pretend she was a doll at any second in case someone else came along. Kazai, herself, was nibbling on the last strawberry she had brought with her. They were really just a little snack to hold her over until they ate together.
She had really been looking forward to going to a french restaurant, but after finding out that he could cook, she changed her mind and decided it'd be much more interesting if he cooked something for her. Besides, a guy who could cook romantic foods like French or Italian was pretty hot. She wanted to know if he really could.
"I hope his food is really good," Petitmamon stated. She looked up at Kazai.
"If it isn't, I vote we leave."

In a haste Hiro began setting the table, Koromon calling out in a deep voice to imitate an adult male. "Ahem, uhm, yes! O-one minute!" Hiro frantically set the table, though not sloppy in any sense of the word. Soup bowls out, soup spoons out, the Lobster was still finishing under a small salamander that he had invented. Preserves the heat without drying out the food or anything of the sort, it would be done by the time they were finished with the soup he had devised. Patting himself down and affixing fresh bandages to his face, Hiro coughed and slowly walked to the door. Opening it slowly. His apartment was spotless by this time, thanks in part to Koromon.
Opening the door he looked directly down toward Kazai, absorbing her outfit instantly. Cute, he thought. "Oh, hi. Welcome." He moved aside after opening the door, allowing Kazai to enter uninhibited and examine the look of his dwellings. He lived alone and the minimalist nature of his decor showed that. Though there was a sort of neatness in the room that came about only when someone who is extremely tidy lives alone. The mess he had to clean up before were just general things, clothes, washing the curtains, things like that.

"Ohhh... Hey, boyfriend!" Kazai said with a half-forced smile. She then held her arms out to give Hiro a hug. Following this, she made her entry into his humble abode. He seemed very tidy, much more so than Kazai was. She had never cared so much for neatness, or rather, she did, but was a bit too lazy to do so, especially when she could be working on math or playing a computer game instead.
Petitmamon followed Kazai into the house, though she walked behind the girl the whole time. She looked around. It was pretty nice. However, moreso, Petitmamon was looking for Koromon. She wanted to actually fight the Agumon, just as she had tried last time, but she knew that wouldn't be allowed. She didn't want to mess up Kazai's date just for another chance to test her powers.
"It smells really good," Kazai complimented him. She could most definitely smell the seafood and more importantly, the sauces he had used.
"Where's Koromon?" Petitmamon would finally ask.

Hiro wrapped his arms around Kazai just as she did to him, letting her go just as quickly as she did to him as well. In the back of his head, thinking about the term Kazai used. Boyfriend he liked the ring of that coming from her. He would blush a bit if only he had the capacity. "Does it? People say I am a good cook... never really bothered to compare dishes." Hiro closed the door firmly and went over to check on his food under the salamander, still needed some time, thankfully. Koromon rolled out from the bedroom door, having gone in there to make sure it was tidy as well. Just in case Kazai was as invasive as he had anticipated.
"I am right here you flying witch. Hiro stop being so modest, you are probably the greatest human chef alive!" Laughing out loud in a proud manner, proud of Hiro and trying to build him up in front of Kazai.
"Koromon... you have only ever eaten my food..." Hiro spoke, Koromon responding by rolling over on it's side, sweat drop down it's face. Rolling back up instantly after recovering from the blow of Hiro not allowing him to help Hiro score.
"What does that have to do with anything! You big idiot! Trust me Ms. Kazai, he is the greatest. I am sure you will agree! Hiro's food is like eating the wings of an Angemon!" Stopping himself after saying that... slightly cheeky final sentence. "Eh-hehe well... anyway..." Koromon bounced on over to the table, staring at Petitmamon.
"Do you want anything to drink?" Hiro called out, getting dishes with which to serve the Lobster itself on. "I have... basic things. Water, Ramune, things like that. Nothing too fancy... sorry."

"Umm... Water is fine," Kazai nodded. She didn't ever really drink soda or anything with carbonation. She tried her best to stick with healthy food, however she had an incredible weakness to chocolate which would probably never go away. It was even an addiction, perhaps. Sleeping was difficult if she didn't have chocolate at some point after dinner.
"But it sounds like your food is absolutely lovely," Kazai complimented him again. She was going to do her best to try to be nice to him, even though it was pretty far out of her character to compliment people so often. She just wasn't the type, however, she wanted to build a good relationship with him if they were going to be dating. Still, she was actually making a conscious effort to do so.
"Oh! I'll take a water too!" Petitmamon finally interjected. She had nearly forgotten that the invitation extended from Kazai and to her as well. The Digimon would extend her wings and begin to flap them. She made her way onto Kazai's shoulder, which she sat upon comfortably. Kazai, however paid her little attention.
Looking around, Kazai couldn't help other than to think that his home was kind of bland. It wasn't very impressive as far as decoration. She couldn't help other than to think that only males lived here. Kazai herself wasn't as decorative as other girls except for when it came to her own apparel and her own clothing. She was nothing like her sister in that regard. Aside from a few posters and portraits, her own home would probably look about the same.
"So... I'm taking a wild guess, but I take it you live here with just your father or brother? No?" Kazai asked. She simply took a shot in the dark.
"It doesn't seem to have much of a woman's touch."

Pulling a bottle of mineral water from the fridge, Hiro slowly pouring it into a glass. The rest was poured into a separate, smaller glass for Petitmamon. Grabbing a carton of coffee milk for himself and Koromon. He couldn't help himself, it was his favorite drink. There was something about the energy it gave him. Even if that didn't show in his demeanor. Sitting down with the drinks, arranging them in front of their respective owners he turned on the hot plate that his soup was sitting on and slowly began to stir it so it didn't form a crust or anything of the sort. He had to be careful however not to destroy the proteins of the delicate egg whites, so he stirred with caution and conviction.
Koromon grew silent, sipping from his straw in the carton of coffee milk. He was well aware of Hiro's depressing situation and as it was brought up he was debating on if he should change the subject or just let Hiro handle it. He decided to let Hiro decide if it was a good time to tell Kazai or not. "Well... I live here alone. I never met my father and my mother died when I was around seven years old. I have no other relatives. I decided to run away before I could be put in an orphanage. When I was nine, after living on the streets for two years or so the land lady here saw me sleeping on a bench. I guess she was on her way home. She picked me up, fed me, clothed me, made me go to school and I started to work around here in the building. In exchange she would let me live in a room for free." Hiro began to sip his own coffee milk, deep red eyes staring emotionless towards Kazai. "About a year ago I got a job at the seven eleven by our school, stocking shelves and working as a cashier. The owner lets me work there even though I am only thirteen." Hiro looked around, sucking the milk through the straw some more. Seeing the clean white walls, the terribly boring atmosphere it gave off. Hiro had never noticed once before. "A woman's touch? I guess it doesn't have a touch at all."
Hiro didn't seem upset telling the story, rather, he never seemed upset. Examining the soup one more time, looking up to Kazai. "IS IT READY YET?!" Koromon breaking the awkward silence by yelling, in a comedic way, demanding to know if the food was done. Hiro simply nodded. "Good because I am not waiting any longer!" Koromon screamed again, licking his lips.

"Oh wow... Sounds like you had it rough," Kazai said to him. She was quite surprised. She never really expected anything like that. She had lived a pretty sheltered life with both of her parents and two pretty cool siblings. She argued with them sometimes, especially her sister, but overall, the three of them got along well and were a pretty happy family.
Kazai wouldn't say much more than that however. Kazai made her way to the table and took a comfortable seat, making sure to cross her legs as well. It was going to be weird staying here with him. Her father had asked her if his parents would be there when she told him they were going to have dinner together, and it hadn't been an intentional lie which she had told her father. She thought his parents would be there. She simply assumed it. She had never really heard of a 13 year old who lived by himself before. It was oddly peculiar.
"Well.. Me... I have my mother and father... one older brother and an olders sister. I'm the youngest," Kazai explained to him, before reaching for her glass and taking a sip out of it.
Petitmamon made her way to the table as well, but rather than sitting down in a chair, she sat upon the table in front of her plat with her legs spread out on either side of her plate. She was looking forward to the food as well, especially if everything that Koromon had said was true. She was most likely going to be a very tough critic.
"Sometimes, I wish I could live alone too. You're lucky in that respect," Kazai confessed, now setting her water down on the table. "But I am sorry about what happened to your mother."

"It's alright. I don't remember her much anyway. What memories I do have are often hazy and distorted." Sipping his coffee milk some more. Koromon eagerly waiting for Hiro to say it is alright to eat. The smell was intoxicating now, everything in the pot blending together perfectly. Hiro slowly began to ladle it into Kazai's bowl, then Petitmamon, Koromon and himself. Giving each person more than enough bread to go along with the thick, rich, flavorful soup that he had prepared. It's texture was almost like that of fondue, however much less elastic and more creamy than an average soup.
"I hope everyone likes it. I just got the recipe last night it's called Tourin. I took some artistic liberties with the proportions and added a few extra ingredients. The original is much too strong, I think this has all around better flavor..." Hiro being cut off by Koromon leaping from his seat and headbutting him.
"Idiot! Shut up and eat already. A long winded explanation for everything." Koromon turning to Kazai. "It's good. It's food. Eat it." Koromon himself now chowing down, Hiro looking toward Kazai and then down to the food. Not saying anything, a red spot on his forehead after the incredible headbutt by Koromon.

"Yeah... I'm sure it is!" Kazai said enthusiastically in response to Koromon's comment. After this, she'd begin to eat for hwerself. Everything looked so nice. She hadn't expected a boy his age to be able to make such delicious food. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that he was self-reliant, already at the age of 13. He was dependent, stable, and pretty mature, or so it seemed. Maybe she had made a good choice in a boyfriend. He seemed like the type to be able to... well, take care of someone. That was pretty attractive, and he didn't even have any parents to worry about.
"It tastes really good!" Kazai said after taking a few bites. It was a delectable treat, no doubt. Perhaps it was even better than what she could have gotten at a restaurant even. After chewing it out a bit, she'd swallow.
"Will you marry me?!" she said, though it was intended as an obvious joke. Petitmamon would simply roll her eyes and continue to eat. She, however, wasn't enjoying the meal as much. Perhaps it was because she was so stubborn that she was not going to allow herself to enjoy it.
Though, on a tangent to her earlier thought, she couldn't help other than to wonder what it was that he wanted to do as an adult. She could never see herself with a guy who had low aspirations in his work. In fact, she didn't think that she could ever marry a man who made much less than her father did, and he was a well renowned doctor.
"Hmm... I can't help other than to wonder what it is that you want to do after school though... Jobwise?"

Hiro smirked a little at the thought of marrying her. Too soon, too soon. Koromon was shoving the soup down his throat faster than he could breathe. Koromon always enjoyed Hiro's cooking and tonight was no exception. Looking up from his bowl across the table at Petitmamon. "Hey... just what is your deal! You didn't even say thank you to Hiro! Just what is your problem anyway bat-woman?!" Koromon, demanding answers from the flying Digimon. An angry expression on his pink face. Hiro didn't say anything and let the exchange go on. He didn't care if Petitmamon didn't like it, not one bit.
"After... school? Well... I haven't given it much thought. I don't really know. Nothing I guess." Hiro, chewing some of the bread slowly. Mashing it up with his back teeth and swallowing it. "Or I'd like to be something like... have you ever heard of Black Jack? The one million dollar surgeon? Something like that. The man who can cure any disease but does so for the price of one million dollars. I quite like the sound of that." Hiro scratched the back of his head, a bit embarrassed maybe that his dream job comes from a fictional work of manga that Kazai has probably never even heard of. "That or I guess I will just write..." Looking down at his bowl, then to Koromon who was in heated debate with Petitmamon.

"Why should I say thank you when he just made the food to woo Kazai-chan?! I'm just here! It's not that I want to be!" Petitmamon argued her point. In fact, she didn't want to be around here at all. If she could have stayed behind, she would have, however she knew that she needed to come along and protect Kazai. It was always possible that Koromon and Hiro weren't what they seemed. Members of AIR, after all, had partners as well, even though their partners didn't usually get along with them at the slightest.
"Calm down, Petitmamon," Kazai sighed quite calmly. The argument taking place between the Digimon had sort oof taken her attention away from what Hiro had answered. However, she had heard something about becoming a surgeon, and that sounded nice and satisfied her curiosity. However, after a moment or two, she would turn her attention back to Hiro once again.
"I imagine that you invite plenty of girls up here and woo them with your cooking," Kazai would say with a bit of a laugh, though she did this intentionally to lighten the mood. She could only imagine, that a guy living alone would be quite the player. She wasn't sure though, but after all, he had asked her out so openly and she had agreed quite quickly. But nonetheless, she was simply curious and wanted to ask. The question itself may have been a tad bit inappropriate or invasive.
"A lot of dates."

"You ungrateful little..." Koromon was about to start an uproar again, the nerve of this Digimon! He bit his tongue, however, out of respect for Hiro and his recent personality shifts. Was it because of this girl? It was hard for Koromon to say for sure one way or the other, what he did know however is that Hiro was melting. What was underneath may be a powerful individual who could unlock his own true powers. Koromon had fantasies about saving the digital world with Hiro and was all at once swept away in day dream.
"A lot of... dates?" Hiro started rubbing the back of his neck, looking down and finishing his soup slowly. Lobster still cooking, almost prepared as per his plan. He looked over to the kitchen, then back to Kazai. "Well... no you're the first person that's ever been in here... male or female. Besides my land lady but I don't think she counts... and as for dates... well this is my first one too." Letting go of the back of his neck, looking at Koromon who was starry eyed at the thought of him and Hiro busting into the digital world and eradicating evil all at once.
"Is my cooking good? I don't know. I only hear what people say." Looking back to Kazai, smirking again slightly. His eyes however still devoid of life.

"Yes. I meant what I said," Kazai reiterated to him. She had said it once before, and she meant it. She continued to eat, carefully and making sure to use the best table manners she could. She was never the neatest person, and this included in her eating habits. She usually ate pretty quickly and would occasionally make smacking sounds as she ate, but today, she made sure not to do any of that.
"And actually... This is my first date too," she said to him. Not only was it her first date, but also the first time that someone had asked her out. She never imagined she would be going on a date so early while so young, especially while nearly everyone who could ask her out pretty much already knew of her sister, and the fact that her sister was single.
It wasn't long, however, until Kazai did finish her food. The dinner had been excellent, but now she sat there with a full stomach, after having most certainly overeaten. She loved the bread, and seafood was nice as well. It was better than going to a restaurant, she was sure, and now that he was her boyfriend, he'd have to cook for her a lot more often as well.
"We should do this every Friday... That'd be nice," Kazai said optimistically. She'd much rather eat here with him than with her family. He could really cook better than even her mother.
Petitmamon was now laying atop the table. Her stomach had noticably increased in size now that she was finished. She rubbed her fat stomach with her hands as though she was attempting to push down the swelling.

"Ah-hah! Look at your stomach! You did enjoy it!" Koromon jumping on the table now and yelling in Petitmamon's face. "Say thank you! Say thank you!" Hiro still with a smirk on his face, folding his hands on his lap. Sucking down the rest of his coffee milk. Himself, not very full, though it was evident just on body language that they were all pretty content with their meal. The second course could just be thrown away, Hiro didn't mind either way.
"Every Friday? I would have to do much more research on dishes..." Tapping his finger on his chin, looking toward Kazai. "It sounds like a nice idea though. I wouldn't mind." Hiro standing up, taking all of the plates and bowls with him to the sink, coming back for a second trip to fetch the pan with the rest of the soup. "I am pretty full, maybe we shouldn't have more food. Nothing is worse than over eating." Smirking again in Kazai's direction, more sincere this time and with a gentleness. Sitting back down on the now cleaned table, Hiro awaited for her reply.
